Jordan's POV
I looked around the cafeteria before giving Paul a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'm heading to my locker to grab my health book."
He nodded to me. "You coming back here after that?"
I nodded to him before leaving. Winking at Leah on my way out of the café, she had to spend the full afternoon with Paul after we were done lunch and she had been complaining about the idea of it all day yesterday.
I got to my locker opening it up when I discovered what mistake I had made. I had been hanging out with Paul and the rest of the group since I arrived in La Push. Well, it was true that Paul had imprinted on me which practically almost instantly gave me access to everything there. And by doing that I had completely ignored Kelly. Though unlike Clark or Dean, she didn't spend any time at the station which made it incredibly hard to see her cause all other hours I was hanging out with the so called "hall monitors".
"Well … well, what do we have here?" I shuddered glancing around to see Kelly, Amanda and Kristine walk up towards my locker.
I shook my head putting my book into my bag and swinging over my shoulder. "Why don't you three go finish sucking off the guys in the back parking lot and let me get back to the cafeteria." I knew I was being bitchy, but Kelly's father had told my dad that I had missed handing something in during math and got me grounded for 3 days despite the fact I had permission to hand it in late from the teacher. It had only been at the end of the 3 days of me being grounded that Sam found out that I had permission to hand it in late because the teacher had given me the wrong page and had given me an extension until the following day. Amanda had blabbered to Kelly and then Kelly had told her dad who decided to call up Sam and tell him. Greg was on a mandatory leave from the team though and wasn't around much unless he was absolutely needed as a consultant.
Kelly shook her head. "You know I seen you getting really close with Embry the other day. Does Paul like the idea of sharing what is his?"
I turned to look at her. "What the hell are you even saying?"
I pushed Amanda out of my way trying to get away from these three. Only I didn't get too far because Kate the biggest bitch of the school was coming up. She also happened to have a huge crush on Quil who had never really given her the time of day after he imprinted from what I had heard. He was happy with what he had, and it was something that these girls would never know or understand.
"Well, if it isn't the newest slut to join up with the hall monitors. You know I have been trying to get into Quil's pants for months now and you have probably already been there. I mean Kelly told all of us about what your father use to do to you." She leaned down so she was inches away from my ear. "Maybe you are busy teaching Leah and Kim how to be good?"
My eyes turned purple before I seen red. I was glad that it alone could hold these four in place and not allow them to move until I released them. Though this never stopped them from being able to talk and carry on about what my birth father had done to me. All four of them were saying things and before I knew it the punches were flying. I knew if I focused on it long enough the entire fight would come back to me, however that was going to take time which happened to be something I had very little of during a fight. Punches flew at all 4 of them but by the end of the fight I was being pulled off of Kelly by someone.
The warmth of Paul's arms wrapped around my waist as his words were whispered in my ear. "Jordan, please calm down. Everything is okay, she is down she can't hurt you anymore."
Eventually I sagged against him looking down at the 4 girls, each of them unconscious laying on the floor in the hallway. Turning to scan over who all was there, Embry had blood running down his chin that he was using a spare gym shirt to soak up, Quil and Jared where just standing there but faint marks could be seen on them, Leah didn't look too bad, but you could tell she had been involved as well and lastly Jake was leaning over the girls checking on them before standing and nodding to Paul.
"Mr. Green," Jake nodded to the man walking towards the group of students in the hallway.
"Everyone not currently involved in this situation head to their classes now." He declared before turning to us standing there. "You guys, head to the office. I will call Sam and Mr. Braddock and have them head down here. After I get a few ambulances and call the parents of these 4. I am rather shocked that you are sending them to the hospital, normally it isn't this bad."
I glanced at Kelly. "Hospital it should have been the morgue." I mumbled. Though forgetting about the werewolf hearing and having each of them glance at me. I am almost certain that between Kelly and Kate they said more stuff to me to cause this to happen but honestly when my purple eyes had taken over, I can't say that I really remember any part of what they did tell me. The only thing that came to mind is them commenting about my past. Though normally I can just block that out so it must have been something else or I was just tired of Kelly's comments. This is the fourth day of school that she had been making comments to me about the three of us letting all the guys in our pants.
In the principal's office, I grabbed a tissue and began helping Embry clean off his face from the blood that had stopped gushing which I was happy to see. However, when Sam Ulley walked in, he didn't look too happy about the situation. Rav followed him inside glancing at me.
"Ah, Mr. Braddock please have a seat."
I smirked at Rav. "That actually isn't my father he is just a co-worker of my father's."
Mr. Green glanced at Rav. "I am her uncle for all purposes and her father is at sniper training. I had a situation at home, so I wasn't able to attend earlier today, and I was on my way there when Sam got the call from the school, so he asked me to come down and see what happened."
I grumbled slumping down in the chair. Mr. Green looked at me. "Is that statement true, Jordan?"
I shrugged. "Honestly, him being my uncle I don't know exactly what my father told to school for emergency contacts. I do however know that my father left this morning for some training thing in Seattle with Ed and Wordy. So, accept it or don't it makes no difference to me."
Mr. Green nodded turning to both Sam and Rav. "I am sad to say but I came across a fight that appears to have ended before I got to it. I have had to send 4 students to the hospital in Forks as they were unconscious when I arrived."
Rav turned glancing at me only causing me to shrug my shoulders. I wasn't dumb enough to say the phrase I had earlier again and risk Sam hearing me.
"I will say that it appears that Paul was pulling Jordan off of Kelly Parker when we got there and from all indication, he had no other part in the actual fight. The other individuals here as you can see seem to have taken part in the fight itself."
Sam glanced at each of the members of the pack sitting in the small office. How I wish at that moment I could be a part of their telepathy that they shared. Paul pulled my attention to him by patting my hand running this thumb over my knuckles. They were slightly swollen but other than that no real damage could be seen. Though after my purple eyes took over there was little chance of something happening like me getting seriously hurt.
"I want to know what happened to start the fight." Mr. Green stated.
Sam turned a glare on each of the members of the pack, each of them shrugging their shoulders at him in the process before he turned to me. Sinking down but still holding myself together I shrugged my shoulders at him as well. I wasn't going to bring this up, not with everyone there, Jake, Leah and Paul were the only ones sitting here who knew my story completely and frankly I was rather happy about that. Jake had promised me that after I found out about the telepathy that Sam had sworn never to ask about that conversation with Emily ever. I was grateful for that promise now and it was something that I was hopeful would help during this situation.
"None of you know how this fight started?" Sam asked.
Embry glanced over at me for a split second before turning back to Sam. Though I was still dabbing at his face with the Kleenex, so I think Sam took it to be that.
Huffing and sitting back down, Sam turned to Mr. Green. "Obviously something must have happened. I can't see all of these guys getting into a fight without there being a cause." He shook his head focusing on his hands for a few seconds. "What are the results?"
Mr. Green shook his head. "I will be asking the 4 girls when they wake up, however, I am suspending everyone in this office until Monday. I will have their work ready for pick up tomorrow morning."
Rav nodded before turning to Mr. Green. "Would it be possible to have Jordan's work at least for tomorrow ready tonight? I think she will probably be spending part of the day at the station as I doubt Sam will have Paul working all day through the week."
Mr. Green nodded. "Come by the school to the office around 4pm, I should have it for you then."
He nodded.
Sam turned to all of us. "Okay you lot all outside."
Rav's POV
Everyone left but Sam and me. "I don't know what has gotten into them. It has been a while since Jordan was in a fight. Sam is on his way back here right now he just didn't want this to have to wait."
Sam nodded. "I can take her back to my place and see if Emily can talk to her find out what happened to start everything. I have a feeling someone knows something, but no one is saying anything."
I nodded. "I will text Sam and have him meet me at his place. I will come by your place in about 2 hours to pick up Jordan after I pick up her schoolwork."
Mr. Green nodded. "I don't like having to send students to the hospital. Though I will say that when I said I was going to call for an ambulance all of the guys and Leah turned to look at Jordan though I didn't hear anything."
Sam nodded. "I will have a word with them to see if she did say something that they were close enough to hear." He stayed quiet for a second. "If by Friday we haven't found out what happened are they still going to be permitted back on school grounds come Monday?"
Gasping and visibly gulping I turned to look at Mr. Green. I had never heard of them preventing students from returning to school when something like this hadn't been found out.
Mr. Green sat back in his chair. "Normally I would be inclined to say yes, they would be allowed back on school grounds even without us knowing the cause of the fight. However, with the number of them involved and the fact that the other 4 students are on their way to the emergency room I am inclined to require some knowledge and reassurance that this is not going to happen again." He looked at Sam straightening his tie. "If it is your word that this won't happen again then I will accept that however you have to inform me that you have spoken to each of the students involved on your end and on the other end and have placed out consequences should another fight happen between these students."
Sam nodded, placing a hand on my shoulder causing me to turn around. "I understand that you are pissed that it seems like the punishment is one sided. I don't know who the other 4 students are but that alone could tell me something about why this has happened. Though the name Kelly Parker doesn't right any bells."
I nodded. "It is the daughter of our old Sarge. Her and Jordan were kind of close but kind of not. When Jordan and Dean and Clark started hanging out more her and Kelly became distant. Now Dean and Clark are both at Forks High School and Kelly joined Jordan here." Thinking for a minute. "Though last time I check there wasn't any bad blood between those two."
Sam smiled. "Go see Sam and let him know what has happened. Then go pick up her work at 4 and come by my house, I will have Jordan there and I will inform Emily that she is leaving at that time. I will have a word with everyone else."
I nodded heading outside and to my SUV. Calling Sam from the vehicle as I started to drive to his place.
'What is the deal with Jordan?'
"Well, she was in a fight, and the fight sent 4 students to the hospital one of them being Kelly. Sam is taking her back to his place to see if Emily can find out what happened. I was thinking we could take her to the station tomorrow morning and then see if Sam can have someone pick her up and she can spend the afternoon there."
'What caused the fight?'
"That is the thing. No one will say, not even with Sam turned a glare on everyone. Each of them including Jordan just shrugged and looked away. It was really odd, and Sam seemed to be confused by it as well."
'So, she is off school for a few days or a week?'
"Well, it is for the week, and they can return as long as Sam has reassurance that there won't be another fight between these guys again. But he wanted to know what caused the fight to begin however with no one talking there isn't much they can do. The principal did say that he was going to ask the 4 when they wake up but that could be a day or so. Jordan's work will be ready for pick up at 4pm so I am going to stay at your place until that point. Go pick it up and then pick up Jordan before I drop her at your place."
'Okay, I am about 20 min away. I want to find out what happened though Greg is away so it will be Jessica who will be dealing with Kelly, and I will give her a call.'
"Sounds good."
With that I hung up the call and continued driving. It wasn't a long drive to Sam's place from the school in fact it was only one street away from where I was.
Embry's POV
I was laughing full out at the wink that Jordan had shot to Leah. "Oh Leah, don't worry it won't be too bad."
She growled at me, baring her teeth.
Jake shook his head patting Leah on the top of hers. "He is only teasing."
I glanced at my phone slipping it into my cut-offs. "I'm going to head to my locker and grab my health book too. Maybe Jordan can help me get a head on a few things." I was patrolling during health class the next 2 days so if I could get ahead that was always an advantage.
"Brown noser" Quil yelled after me as I left the cafeteria.
Truth be told I wanted to check on Jordan she had been gone for a bit too long to just be grabbing her book and I was worried. A few of the other girls were started to make random comments about her and I knew it was only a matter of time before they managed to corner her.
I was just turning the corner to Jordan's locker when I seen a glint of purple in her eyes. The braid that held Jordan's hair was being pulled and instinct took over of me. I had my phone pulled out and verbally sending a text to Jake and Paul. 'Jordan's locker now, bring help!' Before I was going into the fight. I could hear the comments Kelly was making to Jordan as both Kelly and Kate went at Jordan though she was holding her own fairly well.
A punch to my jaw made me realize that I was going to have to pay attention to the fight I was currently in if I wanted to come out of this one with little damage. Very soon it was a fairly even numbered fight but when Kate, Amanda and Kristine were all laying there unconscious we had stopped punching figuring the job was done.
I glanced over at Jordan to see her and Kelly still slightly grappling but Jordan for sure having the upper hand. Kelly was bleeding pretty badly from her nose and what appeared to be 2 other cuts on her face one above her eye and the other on her lip. Jake came over handing me a spare shirt placing it up to my face before gesturing for Paul to remove Jordan from on top of Kelly who was now no longer fighting back.
Jake walked up checking on each of the 4 laying there nodding to us after checking them all. "They are still alive."
I breathed a sigh of relief until Mr. Green showed up. After he explained that he was going to be sending the girls to the hospital, Jordan mumbled about he should have been sending them to the morgue. My eyes almost bugged out of my head as I glanced at her. She surely didn't mean that, I mean the comments coming from Kelly were the standard ones that Leah and Kim have to put up with on a daily basis. There had to be something more going on besides what I had heard which was my only saving grace when Sam asked what had started the fight. I truthfully didn't know but it was a partial truth that I wasn't sure would stay hidden from Sam all that long. Paul and Jake would tell him about what they had seen in the text and then Sam would be at me to tell him why I sent it.
We were all walking out of the school together when I noticed that Jordan was hanging back. Paul had already tried to talk to her about the fight, but she had just growled at him. When that happened everyone just started giving her some distance worried that something could happen to her and if she wasn't home it could end up being bad. I started slowing my walking down slightly enough that no one really would notice other than Jake who just shot me a questioning look. When we were walking side by side I nudged her arm.
"Thanks for helping get the blood off my face." I whispered to her quietly enough that she should hear be but no one else.
Jordan just nodded before she stopped walking completely. "Were you the first one from my side in the fight?"
I looked at her, she had seen me enter the fight, hadn't she? "Ya. Actually, that is why I slowed down to talk to you. Jake and Paul are going to confess to Sam that I texted them, telling them to come to your locker that there was a problem."
She just nodded and started walking again. "Okay. But you don't actually know how it started, do you?"
I just shook my head. "Actually, no when I got there fists were already starting to fly."
She just nodded again before returning to her thoughts. She stayed quiet for the rest of the walk back to Sam's place. When we got there Jake pulled me aside to tell me that if Sam asked and we were phased either he or Paul were going to have to give in and tell him it was a text from me that pulled them all to the fight.
I smiled to him. "Ya, I know. But here is the thing when I got there the fight had already started, I truthfully don't know what caused it to start. Though honestly, I don't know if Jordan really knows either. I mean she said she didn't even remember me joining the fight."
Jake glanced back at her sightly confused before Paul looked at the two of us. "If her purple eyes had taken over there is a chance that she might not actually remember what happened unless she really actually focuses on the fight itself. She kind of has blinders on when they take over. When I was talking with Wordy the one day he said it is more like a defensive mode, and she won't be able to talk or really hear anything around her, but she can hold something in place and her instincts will take over."
Jake smiled. "It is like the day with the vamp in the woods?"
Paul nodded. "Rav had to come and talk to her for us using some kind of hand touching thing. He would touch her hand in certain spots then she would touch his only her eyes didn't move at all."
I huffed. "None of this is going to help us with Sam when he finds out I sent the text saying to get to Jordan's locker."
Jake nodded. "I get that. But if this has happened before couldn't Rav maybe explain it to Sam for us. I mean he would have seen it several times."
Paul shook his head. "It won't answer the question of what started the fight. All it will do is tell him that it possibly was Jordan."
Sam arrived home then getting out of his car walking towards the woods pulling all of us towards him leaving Jordan inside with Emily.
"Shift and wait here. I'll be back in a few minutes." With that he ran back towards the house.
Jordan's POV
After talking to Embry, I was slightly glad that he really didn't know what had happened to start the fight which means he had landed there probably when the usual comments had started flying at me. I had breathed a sigh a relief when he went to talk to Jake and Paul. I hadn't meant to growl at Paul, but truth of the matter was I had no idea what had started the fight. I rubbed my knuckles softly with my other hand remembering the last time this had happened.
I had gone into the house leaving the guys talk outside. Leah had stayed out there with them despite me offering for her to come join me inside. But she had said that Sam's rules couldn't be disobeyed and that going inside would have gotten her into a lot of trouble.
I shrugged if off going to see if Emily needed any help in the kitchen making dinner for the mound of wolves that would be invading her house tonight.
"No, but you can help me with the muffins. The batter is there and so is everything else if you could do that for me." She pointed to the table where 6 muffin trays were laid out along with the cups and the special scoop that she used.
When Sam walked into the kitchen, he looked at me. "You have no idea what started the fight?"
I shook my head and continued to work on the muffins. I could hear Sam talking to Emily for a few minutes before I heard the back door shut.
Emily came over to me putting her hand over mine as I finished the last few muffins. "Now Jordan, I know it might be hard to talk about but whatever started the fight don't you think it would be better that Sam got your version first?"
I simply just shrugged. There was very little I could actually tell her. "I don't know what to tell you Emily other than I just don't know what happened."
She glanced at me confused for a second as if waiting for me to explain what I meant.
I only huffed at her glancing out the back door. With none of the wolves in sight I decided that I might be able to explain it a bit to her. "Okay so it is one of two things. Either my purple eyes took me over and then the memories of what happened can never be recovered or my defensive mode took over in which case they can be recovered but not that easily."
She nodded. "Is there anyway you might be able to answer a few questions about it based on past experiences?"
I nodded slowly. "If we knew which one took over then sure we could look at past times and answer general questions. But Emily there is really no way of knowing which one did take over." I focused back on the bowl and muffins on the table trying to add a bit more to a few of them as there as still a little bit of batter left in the bowl. It was then that I heard a vehicle pull up into the yard.
Emily glanced out the window towards the road. "It is a black SUV." She glanced towards me.
I went over to the window glancing out. "That would be a SRU SUV. I'm guessing my father came right from the training to here." I shrugged watching Rav get out of the vehicle.
He walked up to the main door and knocked.
"Is Jordan in here?" He asked politely.
Emily deciding to be her usual self she stopped him. "And you are?"
This had me giggling from the kitchen which earned me a glare from her as she pointed back at the muffins on the table.
"My name is Rav. You must be Emily. I have met your husband Sam a few times, he knew I was picking Jordan up here just after 4."
Emily nodded letting him inside. "Sam is out talking with the others."
He nodded to her and glanced at me. "Sam said he would take her for the afternoons during the week. Though he didn't mention how she was going to get from the station to here and we won't be able to leave this week as we are on duty." When he seen Emily look unsure about what to say he added. "If you could get him to give Sam a call and let him know when he is done talking to the others that would be great. He has Sam's cell number, and he is home now."
She just nodded to that. "I can get him to give you a call."
Rav nodded glancing over at me. "Come on, your father would like a word with you about this fight. The four girls sent to the hospital are going to be there at least 2 nights dealing with concussions that were inflicted by you guys."
I couldn't do anything. Any little amount of emotion that I showed Rav would pick up on it. He had been trained to do that. So, I just kept a blank face, I knew Emily would tell Sam everything we had talked about. She was trying to help after all.
I grabbed my bag walking towards the car, glancing towards where I seen them all vanish into the forest and where Sam had walked into but nothing.
Jake's POV
I knew if Paul thought he was protecting Jordan he would hold out a lot longer than I could. I was trying to figure out a way to use that when Sam returned and shifted.
"What happened to cause the fight?"
We all looked at him but one by one everyone said where they were when we presumed the fight was starting. When Embry had said his locker, it made very little sense. What he said wasn't a lie, we both would have known that.
The questions continued and each one Sam got madder and madder this wasn't getting us any closer to figuring out how the fight actually started. When he was done asking everything, he could think of he ordered everyone back to the living room in the house.
I stayed back with Paul and Embry.
"Sam, we might not know how the fight started, but we might know someone who can help us figure it out."
Sam's wolf turned on me, but we were both equals here thus nothing happened. "How?"
I turned to Paul.
He nodded. "Can we shift back?" He asked before he shifted back to his human self not waiting for an answer.
When Sam seen that he wasn't going to do this as a wolf he shifted as did Embry and I return to our human skin.
"Okay, we are humans again. Now who can help us know how the fight started?"
Paul looked around before settling on Embry. "Jordan didn't even know when Embry joined the fight today. We all got the message to get to Jordan's locker quickly but nothing else, so we just ran. There has to be something different between her purple eyes and her defensive mode. Rav or her father might know, and we could use that to help us know what actually happened."
Sam nodded. "Okay I will see about chatting with them later tonight after everyone has left. I was thinking about sending you three to go pick up Jordan tomorrow maybe seeing if you can chat with her about what actually happened to start the fight."
