Charlotte drove over to Tommy's house to chat with Didi for a while.

When she arrived, Charlotte parked in the driveway. Looked like the cars were in the garage since she didn't see anybody.

No, she didn't invite herself over, even though it looked like she did.

Charlotte got out of the car and rang the doorbell.

Didi was home, so she answered.

"Hello, Charlotte. Come on in."

"Thank you, Didi. I can stay for a while. I didn't see your cars outside when I drove up."

"They're in the garage this time," Didi told her after closing the door.

"How's Tommy?" Didi asked.

"He's okay, but tired of being on the couch most of the time."

"I understand that. He looked fine to me the last time I saw him before you and Drew took him in."

"He looks like it too. Why don't you call the doctor and see if he could check out Tommy again after that accident from the neighborhood I heard about?"

"Stu and I were talking about it. We might make that call when you leave."

"You can do that now while I'm here so I can share with Tommy."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes," Charlotte answered.

"Where is Stu?"

"Taking a shower, but he should be back shortly."

There wasn't anything to share with Didi about Drew since there wasn't anything new.

"How is Drew?"

"He's all right. Nothing exciting," Charlotte replied as Didi went to the nearest phone and call the doctor.

While watching Didi call the doctor, she decided to stay in the living room so that way she wouldn't interrupt the phone call.

So Didi returned after hanging up.

"We'll take him in soon. You can tell that to Tommy."

"Thank you, Didi. I can't blame Tommy for not wanting to get up from the couch."

"If the doctor says he's all right to get back to school, then we can take him in the next couple of days to make sure he's doing all right."

"Good plan," Charlotte replied.

"Is that why you came over?" Didi asked her.

"Yes. I thought he would want some stuff from here while I talked with you."

"What does Tommy need?"

"He didn't say anything about it, but I thought he would want something to entertain himself."

"You know Tommy's pretty good about it."

Charlotte agreed.

"He sounds like he wants to do something else."

"He will, Charlotte. I'll go see what I can find from Tommy's room. I'll get some new clothes."

"That was one reason why I showed up."

Charlotte followed Didi to Tommy's room.

"He appreciates it, Didi."

"I know he does. Did Drew say anything about taking Tommy back here?"

"No, he didn't. We thought Angelica would use the company for a while. You know how it is when you're an only child."

"I understand. You and Drew both had a good idea about Tommy staying over for a while as a change."

"You're welcome, Didi. Drew's in town today, so I really can't tell him anything."

"What is Drew doing in town?" Didi asked as she opened Tommy's closet and dresser drawer.

"Nothing much. He said something about going out to lunch with Chaz and Howard."

"But he didn't tell me where," Charlotte added.

"I guess Stu felt bad since Drew didn't invite him over to join them."

"I'm sure he does. I'll tell Drew I stopped by here and mention the phone call you made with the doctor."

"Thank you. I'll say something to Stu as well. Didi grabbed a suitcase so that way Tommy would have something for his clothes.

When she finished packing a couple of clothes for Tommy, Didi handed it to Charlotte as they walked to the front door.

"Tell Tommy we'll see him in the next day or so."

"All right, Didi. I'll pass this on."

Didi opened the front door for Charlotte to go out to the car and head back home.

"Tommy will be happy to get off the couch for sure when you take him to the doctor in the next couple days."

"Of course he would," Charlotte agreed, "and it gives him time to stretch out."

That's when Charlotte opened the trunk and closed it after throwing the suitcase in.

"I'll see you in the next couple days, Didi. You can pick him up at the house unless you want either Drew or myself to take him here."

"We'll talk about it and see what Stu thinks of the idea. He'll probably vote for you taking him here and we'll go from there."

"I'll probably call you first."

Charlotte finally drove off as Didi headed back inside the house.

When Charlotte returned home, she found Angelica hanging out with Tommy.

"That was nice of you to spend time with Tommy," Charlotte said as she brought the suitcase inside.

"What's the suitcase for?" Tommy asked.

"Your mother packed a couple of stuff for you besides fresh clothes, Tommy. Angelica, you can help me with the suitcase."

"I don't want to help, Mommy."

"You are. By the way, Tommy, your mother made an appointment with your doctor."

"What did she say?" Tommy asked with curiosity.

"Drew and I will take you home and then they will do everything else."

"All right. I hope it's not bad news."

"Find out, Tommy," Angelica told him as she followed Charlotte.

As they went upstairs, Tommy smiled to himself and said, "Finally I can get off the couch!"
