"108 YEAR OLD SPRINGFIELD RESIDENT CORNELIUS CHAPMAN HAS DIED."
Following a heart attack from a kiss by Britney Spears during a ceremony in which he was honored… Born in 1892, Chapman introduced toothbrushes to Springfield, and for years was the town's sole professional basketball player, often entertaining crowds on his own. In 1929, he helped people jump off buildings, and in 1935 took a bullet for Huey Long[1]
"We finally got a mail system working on mars. All digital though. Can't exactly sends letters. From there we learned a few things. Like how Ned Flanders was dating Rachel Jordan, the lead singer of a Christian Rock band named Kovenant. Of course, because of his werewolf transformations, they couldn't meet on any full moons but they worked it out. I'm not sure if he told her that at first."
-Do the Bartman: The Unauthorized Biography of Bart Simpson:
"So PBS was still active down in Virginia. Public Service and all that. We could get them on Mars now but the Y2K hit them hard, so they held a fundraiser… The Problem was Dad donated 10,000$. Now he was pretty wealthy, at least he used to be…problem was while we were on Mars. Things changed on Earth. The US had basically collapsed into parts. Springfield, Oregon was part of California now under Governor Rainier Wolfcastle. The PBS Headquarters were in Virginia, which fell under the Southern States led by George W. Bush, which was the Confederates States of America in all but name. There was also Deseret under Joseph Smith, and the remnants of the United States of America led by Ted Kennedy. Turns out the Southern States had a different currency. Homer didn't know that when he went to get the cash in California, but he was mostly forgiven for not knowing that when he got the money and is fortunately wasn't too different. Problem was he didn't have the money. The bank had crashed. He was practically chased out of the bank by Betty White, , Yo-Yo Ma, The Teletubbies, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and Elmo. He ran from the Springfield Bank to the Church. Reverend Lovejoy snuck him out on a peace mission to Micronesia. "[2].
Betty White stood before several phone lines.
"And if you're one of the millions who enjoys his adventures- or should I say misadventures- it's time to show your support."
"Sure, Fox makes a fortune from advertising... but it's still not enough."
"Not nearly enough!" Rupert Murdoch stood up, shouting this.
"So if you don't want to see crude, lowbrow programming disappear from the airwaves... please, call now."

Moe won a Prize at a Duff Fest and had his picture taken on a Duff Calendar. It convinced him to get plastic surgery. It made him handsome. He even got accepted for a role on a live soap opera called It Never Ends.
IT NEVER ENDS
"Like the cleaning of a house, It Never Ends."
―TV announcer
It Never Endsis a soap opera that began in 1975. It stars Gabriella DeFarge as Gabriella , a role created for her, Allegra Hamilton as Sister Bernadette and Roxy Monoxide….
…played the role from 1975 to 2000, when he was fired and the role taken over by Moe Szyslak, who previously auditioned for the role in 1975. Other characters include Contessa, Clive Dancer, Professor Gallaway and Gallaway's half sister.
The plot follows Professor Gallaway reviving the mummy of Cleopatra, who falls in love with Gallaway's assistant Dr. Tad Winslow. Winslow worked at a hospital and has a rival in Clive Dancer. The show's title "It Never Ends" alludes to Cleopatra being shown in flashbacks to experience similar conflicts to a soap opera before her death.
While Moe Szylak was popular with female viewers, there was a drop in viewership following his casting. Szyslak became aware the show was going to kill off his character in a skydiving accident. Szyslak in protest, broke character during the live broadcast and revealed verbally several plot lines for future episodes such as Gabrielle 's baby shower being invaded by terrorists and Sister Bernadette leaving the coven and starting a softball team. The footage cut to commercial break. Footage of that episode is now sought after lost media. Szyslak was fired and the show went on hiatus while the plots were rewritten. Moe firing led to the original actor to get his job back when the show returned and Szyslak's brief tenure and several episode plotlines were retconned out of the show. Szyslak was blacklisted from Television, something made even worse when it was discovered that as a child actor onOur Gang,he beat another child actor Carl Switzer, who played Alfalfa, who Death, though this was ruled as an accident by the Studio and no charges were made at the time. Reopening this case, led Szyslak to face even further controversy[3].

Peace Talks began between Rainier Wolfcastle of California, Joseph Smith of Deseret, Ted Kennedy of the U.S. and George of the Southern States to talk of potential reunification. Wolfcastle and George has proven to be resistant as they have the most to lose from this merging. Their independent nations would cease to exist. A deal was made that the four leaders of each nation would be made a candidate in the 2000 U.S. election. For the first time in history, Wolfcastle, an Austrian, has the chance to become President. The thing is this quickly became Secession or Unification. Wolfcastle and George were both republicans, so they formed an alliance. Wolfcastle was more popular due to his career as an actor so George was essentially his running mate. This meant they were a shoe in for both California and Texas. Kennedy and Smith did something similar with Smith accepting a role as Kennedy's running mate. Smith helped a lot. A lot of people recalled dying in either the rapture and the following apocalypse and many were told the Mormons had it right, even though many also ascended without being mormon[4].
So it came down to Rainier Wolfcastle vs Ted Kennedy. Ironically they were technically related. Wolfcastle was married to Maria Shriver Kennedy Quimby, a niece to John , and thus also Ted Kennedy. This was a family feud on a political scale[5].
Kennedy had an unexpected an ally in Al Gore. Jesus Christ had cured him of his insanity brought on by Damien Thorn and he had hoped to make his triumphant return to politics, only to find it harder than he thought. Still he actively supported Kennedy in his campaign. This became significant when Jesus Christ convinced Joseph Smith to step down as Vice President, as he feared a violation of the sanctity of church and state. Smith and Christ vowed to support whoever won the election regardless of political affiliation. Kennedy chose Gore as his running mate.
For his part, Kennedy, wanting a unified U.S., relented that if Wolfcastle won, he would be accepted as the legitimate President, revoking the national born citizen clause.

"Dad got a letter from Barney, saying that Moe got arrested and that he was starting to get more and more sober, taking up helicopter lessons and doing rescue. All I could say was good for him" [6]

"I had a phase where after I saw the film Tango de La Muerte, and really resonated with the character Isabella, I wanted to become a dancer. I wasn't very good at it but I started taking tap dancing lessons from former child star Vicki Valentine, one of the celebrities who managed to reach Mars. Still wasn't very good at it, until Professor Frink had me test these experimental shoes for him, yeah it was cheating but still I needed it, and I think they helped until I didn't need them anymore. They malfunctioned when the audience we performed for applauded and I had to take them off and the whole thing was exposed. Valentine wasn't even mad about it surprisingly since she related to having to do extreme things in order to get ahead. "

"Otto almost got married but he broke up with his girlfriend Becky over an argument over having a Poison Tribute band called Cyanide play " Nothin' but a Good Time." They broke up. Shame[7].

"They aired a Documentary about us and how our show started. Dad had felt like sitcom family lives were nowhere near as dysfunctional as the real thing so he started recording things and when he couldn't just him talking about what happened. He submitted a crude home video and it got the attention of Rupert Murdoch. The rest is of course, history. We were rich. Tons of merchandise. We won a few Emmys for Outstanding Structured Reality Program. There was of course the cost of painkillers, after Dad took the fall from the Springfield Gorge and became addicted. This was before the whole cloning thing, which didn't start until long after that, meaning he still had some injuries and permanent damage from that event.
After getting enough money to pay CBS and send an extra $10,000 to Fox to save them(again), Dad was offered MC Hammer's old place. He sold the place in 1996. It was in Fremont, California. He gave it up after he filed for bankruptcy. It was named Hammertime. Dad renamed it "Homertime." The IRS nearly seized it. At this point, with a somewhat comfortable living space. The whole family decided it was time to return to Earth.
We all started to do many different things. Dad started acting and was quite good at it, appearing inRent II: Condo Fever. Bart got a role, capitalizing on his fame as Fall Out Boy, and the "I Didn't Do it" kid as the star of a reboot of the syndicated action showRenegadein the role previously held by Lorenzo Lamas. Mom started performing in nightclubs. She sans a great rendition of Bob Marley's "I shot the Sheriff", and I wrote a tell all book calledWhere are my Residuals?on The Simpsons show. It was over and we'd just saved Fox so they let it slide. I told all the dirty little secrets, like how I found out that in order to to prolong the series, they were spiking my food on set with Anti-Growth Hormones."

"Truth is I was Gay…But I couldn't tell anyone."

[1]In the original episode, Chapman's death led to be crowned the oldest living Springfield resident, which doesn't happen here due to already being dead. Chapman is also shown taking a bullet for Huey Long during his assassination. There Long was shot several times and Chapman took the sixth bullet. In real life, Long was shot once before his bodyguards opened fire and gunned down the assassin. As such Long actually lives longer here, but never became President. After all FDR survived an assassination attempt as well.
[2] This episodeMissionary: Impossibledepicts both PBS characters as real figures and also at the endFoxcharacters like Bender from Futurama, Hank Hill from King of the Hill and the Thurgood Stubbs from the PJs as real people at the phones. The PJs is the only show there that is still fictional. Bender and Hank Hill are real in this universe and so wouldn't have shows(Most King of the Hill episodes are mundane enough to not really be impacted aside from Bobby and other kid characters aging. Even Peggy Hill surviving her fall from 8000 feet when her parachute malfunctioned is plausible as it happened in 2013 to Craig Stapleton only he was a seasoned skydiver and his worst injury was a dislocated shoulder after landing in plowed dirt filled with grapes. Peggy landed in mud and was put in a full body cast. There is a Y2K themedKing of the Hillepisode which now has it actually happen). The Simpsons usually depicts Fox as struggling. Since most of their famous shows don't exist includingThe Simpsons, X-Files, Futurama, King of the Hilland so on, this contributes to their worse state.
[3] In the orignal episode, Moe's face was smashed by a door, leading him to return to normal. Here it doesn't as that was caused by Homer, who is in Micronesia. Moe killing "The Original Alfalfa" is from the episode "Radioactive Man" though in that it wasn't Carl Switzer but an unknown orphan later replaced by him.
[4] The US would have fractured during Y2K I believe, especially given the recent memory of the rapture and apocalypse that transpired. Wolfcastle's presence here is swapping him out with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was depicted as US President in The Simpsons Movie. Defeats the purpose of a parody when you just use the real person. George being included and leading the Southern States is an allusion to the Family Guy Episode "Back to the Pilot", where in a world where 9/11 was prevented he leads the Confederate States of America to a Second Civil War after losing in 2004. It's a stretch that 9/11 would still happen given the changes that have transpired. It's also a stretch George would still be President but given the role he plays, namely in some Family Guy and South Park episodes, I still felt including him. Al Gore to a similar extent, mainly due to his use in South Park and Futurama.
[5] For those who don't know. This connection also applies to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ted Kennedy in real life as well. Rainier Wolfcastle's wife was given a similar name to Schwarzenegger but also the last name Quimby.
[6] In the original episode"Days of Wine and D'oh'ses", Barney does sober up in the episode and switches to Coffee. A subplot has Bart and Lisa trying to take an iconic photo for a magazine and starting a forrest fire. This doesn't happen since they are still on Mars by this point. Another episode that doesn't happen is "Kill the Alligator and Run" where the Simpsons go to Florida for similar reasons.
[7] In the original Episode, Otto's fiancee moved in with the Simpsons and Marge began to believe she was trying to steal Homer(she was later revealed to be right but she changed her mind). Since they are still not back to Earth this doesn't happen.
[8] The Simpsons was established as a show in-universe previously. A few tidbits are Richie Rich is shown to have briefly replaced Bart on the show while a previous episode has him be fictional. Also Homer did buy MC Hammer's mansion and in real life MC Hammer lost his home in 1996. Aside from the family not breaking up like they did in the original episode, most of the bits like what each member did while separated has stayed intact.
I didn't actually plan on bringing the Simpsons back to Earth just yet as I feel most people would wait until 2006 to come back as that was when the Apocalypse was reversed, but if Homer has a mansion and they are financially stable from their show, they could likely make the journey back earlier. Along with several deities now protecting the Earth to prevent such horror from happening again. It also gives the rest of the series a chance to continue.
