A/N Sorry, it has been so long! I have been posting this story on AO3 under the username StarSanctuaryKid2020! So you can check me out there also!
I have received some very nice PMs but for some reason, I am unable to answer them. I did not want anyone to think they were being ignored. Thanks for reading!
Chad held the sleepy Cordelia as they waited for her friends and the bus to come. It was finally time for her party at Once Upon Time Land. Cordelia had a busy week and was exhausted but excited.
"I think you might have to have a little nap in between all the fun things we have planned," Lonnie said, rubbing Delia's back.
Chad was concerned with all the walking they would be doing, plus three women who were five months pregnant. Cordelia wanted Chad and Lonnie to come with her to the theme park so badly. It surprised him at how easily he had become a stay-at-home dad. He had planned this whole week by himself. He had some help from his mom and Lonnie on a few details, but he planned the whole day.
"Can we ride the carousel? That was so much fun!" Cordelia asked.
"Of course. I love the carousel!" Lonnie said.
"Look, it's Ella and Mulan!" Cordelia said excitedly. She waved to the two smiling women who were walking up to them. Their husbands were behind them, talking.
Chad put her down, and she ran over to them and hugged them both. Ella picked Delia up.
"Happy Birthday, sweetheart! We are going to have so much fun today!" Ella said brightly.
"Happy Birthday, little Delia!" Mulan said, smiling.
"Thank you! Do you want to ride the carousel with us?" Delia asked happily.
"That sounds like a great ride to start with!" Ella said happily. Mulan nodded in agreement.
Delia wiggled down and went to hug Charming and Shang as Ella and Mulan hugged and greeted Chad and Lonnie. Lonnie smiled at how small Delia looked in Shang's arms. He wasn't sure how he felt about his daughter taking in a villain's child at first, but he had grown to love the little girl.
"How are you feeling? I know you have had a rough time staying hydrated." Mulan asked, softly. She put her hand on Lonnie's small baby bump.
"I'm doing, ok. We brought plenty of water and Chad has memorized where the rest stations are if we need them." Lonnie said, smiling.
"Moxie's here!" Delia said excitedly. Shang didn't put her down until Mal and Moxie were safely across the street. Moxie hugged Delia tightly.
"They are so sweet!" Ella said, smiling.
"They spent the whole day together yesterday, but they act like they haven't seen each other in months," Mal said, shaking her head.
"We do that, too!" Lonnie said, grinning as she hugged Mal.
"We do!" Mal said, laughing.
"Can I join in?" Dizzy asked, coming up behind them, smiling.
"Of course!" Mal said.
She opened one of her arms so Dizzy could come into the hug. Dizzy hugged her friends tightly, giggling. Delia and Moxie watched the women giggle.
"Aunt Dizzy, look, I'm wearing the necklace you made me!" Moxie said proudly. Dizzy had made Moxie a rose with dragon scales etched into the metal for her birthday. It was silver with a rainbow coating. Moxie wore it every day.
"It matches your outfit perfectly!" Dizzy said, smiling. She pulled out of the hug.
Moxie wore a bright pink shirt and jeans shorts with pink flowers on the pockets. They pulled her purple hair into doggy ears.
"I picked it out myself!" Moxie said proudly.
"Hey, kiddo!" Chad said, hugging Dizzy.
Ella hugged her tightly, next followed by Charming.
"Evie and I have a surprise for you, but we just got it finished last night. I had to wait for some supplies to come in. I guess I'm early." Dizzy said, hugging Delia.
"I'm sorry! We had to wake Max this morning. We are here!" Evie said, rushing up to them, her arms full of bags.
Charming caught Evie's arm as she tripped, stepping up on the sidewalk. Evie let out a surprise squeak as she went forward, dropping the bags. Shang grabbed her other arm so she wouldn't hit the ground. Doug hurried up behind her with Max's stroller.
"Evie, are you, ok?" Doug asked, pulling the stroller on the sidewalk. He pulled her into a hug.
"Yeah, I just missed the step up! Thank you both." Evie said, looking at Charming and Shang.
"It's too early for a trip to the hospital for torn-up knees," Charming said. Shang nodded.
"Way to scare everyone, E!" Mal said, her hand over her heart.
"Sorry, I was just excited to give the birthday girl her surprise," Evie said, sheepishly.
"This pregnancy has been throwing you off balance. Just be a little more careful." Doug said, touching his forehead to hers.
"I promise," Evie said, kissing him before she pulled out of the hug.
"Here, open the pink bag first, then the blue and the gold one last," Dizzy said, sitting the bags in front of Cordelia.
"They're all for me?" Delia asked, surprised.
"Many more to come!" Mal said. It was what Ben said about her first birthday she had in Auroadon. Ben smiled.
Delia dove into the first bag. She pulled out a Luna the lioness outfit with Evie's extra flare. It was dark orange overalls with a pink shirt. The patches on the overalls weren't from the cartoon but the Charming's crest and seashells. Delia's face lit up. The next bag held a handmade Luna belt and necklace by Dizzy. The last bag held Luna's crown, made by both Dizzy and Evie. Delia was so overwhelmed and excited that she cried.
"Come here, beautiful. We'll get you changed into your new outfit for your party. I'm good at quick changes." Ella said, scooping Delia up. Mulan followed them behind a group of trees to keep watch.
"I don't know how I'm going to thank you two enough for making that for her. Her reaction has got me so emotional." Lonnie said, sniffling.
"Her reaction was the best. We know that little girl deserves the world, and that's what you two are doing. We are just helping." Evie said, hugging Lonnie.
"I feel like we missed something," Jay said, walking up.
"Evie and Dizz gave Delia her present and her reaction was wonderful," Chad said, smiling.
"Hello, Queen Luna! I mean Princess Delia!" Jay said, bowing Delia came from the trees. Alana, AJ, and Atalie followed by bowing. The other adults and children did the same.
"Thank you!" Delia said, giggling.
"If you get hot, I can pull your hair into a bun under your crown," Mulan said. She ran her fingers through Delia's curls.
Lonnie was passing out the wristbands when they saw the bus coming. The bus was pulling up as Carlos was arriving with Jane, FG, and Dani.
"Sorry, I had to work a late shift last night and then Dani was fussy this morning," Carlos said, hugging Delia.
"We're glad you made the bus!" Chad said, handing Carlos the wristbands for his family.
They loaded up the parents, kids, and strollers quickly. Chad made sure Lonnie, Evie, and Mal had a seat. Moxie sat on Mal's lap, and Delia sat on Lonnie's lap. Carlos was holding Max while Doug got stuck holding the strollers again. The bus had just shut the doors and was getting ready to move. When the driver put the bus back in park and opened the doors again. Ben jumped on the bus.
"Thanks for stopping!" Ben said, smiling.
"Of course, your Majesty!" the driver said.
"Daddy!" Moxie cheered.
"That meeting ran a lot longer than I expected," Ben said, grabbing the bar in front of Mal as the bus started moving.
He bent down and kissed Mal, then Moxie.
"Happy Birthday, Delia!" Ben said, smiling at the girl cuddled in Lonnie's lap.
"Thank you!" Delia said.
"Delia is Queen Luna from the cartoon! Aunt Evie and Aunt Dizzy made her outfit." Moxie said.
"I love your outfit! I'm sure Queen Luna will love it as well." Ben said. Delia giggled shyly as Lonnie kissed her on the head. The bus pulled up to the park's parking lot.
Everyone got off the bus and was getting kids into strollers. Then headed for the park. Mal pulled Ben to the side after Ben strapped Moxie in her stroller.
"Did they know anything?" Mal asked desperately.
"If they do. They are not talking, and I threatened to take visitation rights away. It only made them madder, and they shut down." Ben said, sighing.
Mal teared up, and Ben hugged her.
"Anything from Gil?" Mal asked.
"They want to transfer Gil to a hospital. They think he has become mentally unstable. All I got from him was and I quote, "He is coming. To help or hurt, I'll never say," he wouldn't tell me who." Ben said, shaking his head.
"Do you think he is talking about my dad? I would feel better if they could actually find him on the isle. He has always been good at hiding." Mal asked, squeezing Ben's arms.
"There has been no proof that anybody has escaped from the isle. Security has been tighter for five years. I think we would know if Hades escaped." Ben said reassuringly.
"Mommy? Daddy?" Moxie called from her stroller.
"Sorry, baby, mommy needed to talk to daddy. You ready to go have fun?" Mal asked as she started pushing the stroller.
"Yessss!" Moxie said, squealing.
Mal pushed the stroller to the Carousel. Ben took Moxie out of the stroller and sent her to stand in line with the others. He could tell Mal was still upset and needed comforting. Moxie skipped up to Jay. He was holding Attie.
"Uncle Jay, Mommy needs one of your hugs," Moxie said.
Jay looked over and saw Ben holding Mal.
"I'll be right back," Jay said. He gave Atalie to Alana and slipped out of the line.
Alana knew that Jay was a little l older than his friends. He was like a protective big brother, so when one of his friends was upset, he had to see. What was wrong?
"I hope I can ride Phillipe again," Moxie said excitedly.
"We can try to get him. It is crowded today."Alana said.
The line began to move to get on the carousel. Attie was pointing to the tan horse she wanted to ride. Alana got Atalie strapped on the horse and turned to see AJ and Moxie had hurried ahead to find a horse. Shang waved to her that he was watching the kids. Alana waved a thank you and went to stand by Attie. Moxie went to climb on an empty Phillipe.
"Find another one small fry." A beefy older kid said, knocking Moxie off.
Moxie landed hard on both of her knees. She screamed. Shang scooped up Moxie in one arm and grabbed the older boy with the other. The ride operator came over with another man.
"What Happened?" the grey-haired operator asked.
"Why are you grabbing my son?" the man asked at the same time.
"He pushed the princess off the horse as she was climbing on," Shang said.
"Look, he made her knee bleed. The poor baby." AJ said, angrily.
Shang wished AJ hadn't pointed out the blood because now Moxie was wailing uncontrollably. Mulan came and took Moxie from him.
"I told you being a bully would get you in trouble one day. You hurt the princess of Auroudon. Your punishment for being a bully is we are leaving right now. Punishment for pushing the princess is you're grounded. For two weeks you better be lucky the King and Queen aren't here." The dad fussed. He then grabbed the boy's arm and pulled him away. The boy was now crying.
Delia decided since Moxie got hurt, she didn't want to ride the carousel right then. The others got off the carousel as well.
"I'm going to take Moxie to the first aid station to get a band-aid and ice pack for her knees," Mulan said.
"I want to go with Moxie," Delia said.
"OK, we will have to wait outside. We can't all go to the first-aid station. Where did Carlos go?" Chad asked, looking around.
"He went to the first aid station with Mal. She started not feeling well." Jane whispered to Chad.
Mulan carried Moxie into the small building. Delia went into the first-aid station to support and hold Moxie's hand. Mal was on a bed in the corner with Ben and Jay on either side of her. Carlos had a stethoscope on Mal's belly.
Moxie cried, seeing her parents. Ben was at her side in seconds.
"Baby, what happened?" Ben asked, taking Moxie from Mulan.
"A mean boy pulled her off a horse!" Delia said, frowning.
"Where is the boy now?" Mal asked, frowning.
"His father took him from the park. He also grounded him for two weeks." Mulan said.
"Good. Let's get your knee fixed up so you can have fun." Ben said, sitting on another bed near Mal.
"Is it going to hurt?" Moxie asked.
"Maybe for a second, but can you help clean up Louis's knee while I clean your knee?" The nurse asked, sitting with a stuffed Louis, the lion cub, in a chair in front of Moxie. The cub had a cut on his knee like Moxie. The nurse handed Moxie a wipe to clean the cut on Louis's knee. Moxie wiped Louis's knee as she wiped Moxie's knee.
"Ouchie!" Moxie said, pulling her leg away.
"All done! You were so brave. Let's put a bandage on Louis's knee while yours dries some." The nurse said.
The nurse put a large band-aid on Louis's knee, then wrapped a bandage around the knee so the band-aid wouldn't fall off. She then did the same to Moxie's knee.
"You have been my best little patient today! I know it's early, but the other two kids I had were screaming and nothing calmed them. Plus, you had such a good and patient friend to sit with her hurt friend." The nurse said, handing Moxie and Delia each a large lollipop.
"Thank you!" The girls said together.
Mal squeezed Jay's hand as she got another pain in her belly. He got Carlos's attention without Moxie seeing him. Carlos placed his hand on the lower part of her belly until the pain ended.
"I'm scared for her. Should I go to the hospital?" Mal whispered.
"Mommy, are you and my baby sister, ok?" Moxie asked, looking at her.
"Your mommy has been worried about something, and it made her tummy hurt. So Uncle Carlos is going to have her take a nap in here for a little while. After her nap, I'm going to put her in her own special stroller called a wheelchair so she won't stress herself or the baby out more today." Carlos said as he and Ben switched places. He now sat beside Moxie, and Ben sat behind Mal.
"I don't like that plan," Mal said, pouting.
"Do you want me to cuddle you until you fall asleep, mommy?" Moxie asked.
"No, baby. Daddy is going to cuddle mommy. You are going to have fun with Cordelia." Ben said, wrapping his arms around Mal's waist.
