Everything was bright as Sora opened her eyes, trying to understand why the sun had to awaken her so early. Had she been that restless about returning home and seeing other worlds that sleep just wasn't an option? Quickly, she went to her window, as her eyes widened and ears rose up in awe at how the sky above was bathed in a white light.
"Woah, it's so beautiful. Mom was right; you really do see wonderful things beyond the walls of the castle. I wonder if mom and dad are seeing this as well. Maybe I should go wake them up, but this is just too breathtaking; I can't stop looking at whatever this light is doing." Sora whispered, as the young faunas smiled, peacefully taking in the view, as the sounds of footsteps echoed within the hallway outside of her room until they stopped, causing Sora to turn her head, curious to see if mom and dad were actually awake and coming to watch with her. Silently, she approached the door, turning the handle and ready to see what lurked in the darkness. However, Sora's eyes widened in horror as she backed away from the door as the ghastly sight of a bloody suit of armor entered the room!
"So this is where my light has led me, back where my nightmare has started. I wonder what has changed within these walls. Oh, would you look at that? Fate has brought another soul bound to these old halls. Don't be afraid, little one; I simply wish to rest for a moment after using up most of my magic casting that light that you've witnessed. My name is Sora; what is your name?" Sora whispered, shaken, grabbing at the broken pieces of her armor, knowing that the fresh and caked blood would be a problem to clean. But it wouldn't matter soon; she wasn't long for this new world anyway. The only thing left was killing those villains and giving this mysterious girl a happier future.
"Umm, my name is also Sora; how did you get here, and are you going to be okay? You're bleeding, and why do you look like me, because I can see your face, and I know mom never mentioned having a sister or even an older sister for me?" Sora said, pointing to the armored woman as their eyes widened, rubbing her face where the helmet covering her face used to be. She didn't know what to say at that moment, as she looked at the woman who just revealed themselves to have the same name as her, but that wasn't the weirdest part. This older Sora had the same hair as her, the same blue eyes, the same everything, except lacking the traits of a faunas, and that battle-damaged armor that her grandfather and Master Xehanort had displayed in their rooms.
"I see, well, this isn't something I'd expect to be a reality. I guess that Yume girl was right about the Multiverse after all. If I can put it simply, I'm you from a different universe. I know that sounds hard to swallow. Well, well, what was my universe? Now I'm all alone in your castle. I don't know why I am here. One second I was with my family, watching the end of our island and everyone around us burning away in light, and the next second, I was traveling through a portal of darkness while some asshole kept talking about madness and Ventus. I know, I'm angry at the blond shit and processing the idea of trying to kill him, maybe even shouting another grand speech to everyone, even though I think only you saw my light. But now I feel more well—not calm, but not willing to blow up your universe for the sake of revenge. Hey, Sora, let's take a walk; I got something to do and have things you need to hear, and trust me, it's important!" Sora declared, grabbing into the younger child's shoulder, attempting to stand up again, as a few drops of blood pooled out of the armor.
"Wait, why would you want to go outside? What if my parents wake up and see you, or the masters? I know they'd have questions and probably fight you for being an intruder in these halls." Sora said nervously, watching the older women exiting the room as the smell of blood and metal began to assault her senses, forcing the young fanuas to follow her older count into the dark halls of the castle.
"My reason is simple: kill the ones who will bring this universe harm and allow you a chance at a better life. In fact, I wish for Xehanort to come; killing him again will be just for the death of Nejire. No, for everyone that I have lost and had to suffer for that bald psychopath; tonight his blood will be on the floors of his castle. Tonight, Ms. Perfect will show them the true way to a perfect world." Sora whispered, grinning madly as the young cat girl watched in horror as the woman summoned her key blade, realizing that the older Sora was acting more like a mad samurai rather than a knight pretending that seemed honorable.
"It's kinda funny; I used to be more serious and rash; in fact, being called Ms. Perfect wasn't just a title for me back in the day, but it was a declaration of honor, that my foe would fight the best that the key blade and Destiny Island had to offer. But today that title is nothing more than a memory, one that was re-chained long ago. But that's enough about me; what's with the cat ears on your head? I've never seen a world with those; oh, how Namine would have been so excited to pet those cute little ears." Sora said, looking deeply into the throne room from the grand hallway. She exited the room quietly, well about as quietly as a suit of armor would allow, not wanting to wake up this universe's Terra and Aqua.
"Oh, me, and my parents were born in a world called Remnant! It's a pretty cool world with these monsters called Grimm, and there's hunters' and huntresses. My dream is to be like them, but at the moment I'm still young, and people didn't really like fauna at that moment. Hopefully things are different; that way me and Coco can be on a team, and besides, it'll be nice to see mom and dad happy again. Hey, what was your family like, if I can ask, because the throne room is just up ahead. If it's too much trouble, I know that this is probably not the best time, but maybe talking about them will help you a little." Sora said, as her eyes could see a man sitting on the throne, the dark master Xehanort!
"Maybe later, after I end this evil once and for all!" Sora declared, looking at the heartless man whose eyes pierced the dark room, his body motionless, yet his heart was strong, as if he welcomed the idea of a fight, counting on something to happen on this fateful night. As she walked into the throne room, the younger Sora could only watch as more blood dripped into the ground. As the older woman's body shook, and she jolted in pain, she was in no shape to fight but was giving it her all, just like a huntress would to protect any poor soul from harm.
"Well, isn't this quite the surprise? Sora, you're awake, and you've brought a friend. How lovely. But unfortunately, those who travel through the Multiverse are forbidden, not just existing, but in this castle. I'm afraid we can't have people knowing what lies beyond our grasp, and now that you've allowed poor little Sora to know, I'm afraid that plans are going to be pushed ahead of schedule. So tell me, wounded knight, what drives you to face me? After all, that masked man wouldn't bring just anybody into this realm without some capacity of strength behind them." Xehanort declared, standing up from his throne, his twisted grin and words making Sora's heart race with fear, as the old man raised his arms, summoning his key blade.
"Kid, stand behind me, this is going to be dangerous. You want to know why I dare to face you, old man, it's simple. You are always ruining my life, at every turn I have suffered because of your darkness, that sickening desire for knowledge and resolution, whether it was one of your pawns, or versions of you. I suffered, when you took even from us, turning him into a monster, when you sent my parents to the realm of darkness for twenty years, that you killed my father, but mainly it's because of my universe dying due to you influencing Riku to overuse the power of waking. So I am going to kill you, kill Erquas, if he's involved? Then kill that masked man, and then die gracefully in Namine's favorite place and be with my family again!" Sora exclaimed, extending her right arm, summoning the master's defender. She was ready to face the master and end it once and for all, only for the sounds of footsteps to echo behind her, as the next thing she could feel was a burning pain coming from her back.
"Well, isn't this an interesting sight to behold? So that masked fool has broken another taboo; it looks like another dog in need of putting down, won't you agree, Xehanort? I've put those other mutts to sleep, and Ventus is nowhere to be found, so let's wrap things up quickly." Erquas declared, walking past the two Soras like they barely existed in his eyes.
"Erquas, you worthless fool, you side with this madness over the girl in front of you, the one that is flesh and blood, oh how the mighty have fallen." Sora shouted, grasping the wall, as her blade hit the ground. More blood dripped to the floor, as she looked down at the younger Sora, realizing that this battle was going to be a lot worse than expected.
"It's because my grandfather has never loved us, he is nothing more than a heartless man whose heart has been blackened by grief and jealousy." Sora shouted, pointing at the man, as he looked down at the blue-haired girl with eyes of bloodlust.
"Why should I care about dead mutts? They took my wife from me, when that oversized lump of flesh was born. The only mistake was not only bringing in another who was the same as him, but allowing them to grow in the world that made the race worthless in the first place. I'm simply correcting my mistakes and making sure that when the new universe is born, that foolish world will never exist again." Erquas declared, summoning his own key blade, watching the dying Knight, her pained face quickly turning into a bloody smile.
"What a foolish thought for a master, it's funny. The first thing that you taught my parents was that all life is precious until it hurts the things you love. Looks to me like you've become the very thing that you've sworn against, what a pitiful master." Sora let out, limping from the wall, grabbing her blade and limping towards the master's. Her body trembles in pain, as Master Erquas charges at her, while Xehanort stands in the background, wiggling his fingers. Sora knew what that meant: a powerful magic spell was about to rain down upon her, but it would be too late to dodge, as the master was coming, and her body couldn't keep up with the pain.
"This is the end, mistake!" Erquas declared, swinging his key blade at Sora, as the warrior held up her shaking blade, watching the master's blade etch closer to her, as she closed her eyes.
"Namine, Nejire! I don't think I'm surviving this fight, I don't even know why I'm here outside of fighting another Xehanort. Is it truly to protect this little girl and her family, or was there something more? But all I can say is I'm sorry, that I couldn't have stopped Riku from being a love-struck idiot for Kairi, that I couldn't protect you both from our universe ending. However, I can promise you this, win or lose, I will see you again, so please wait just a little longer." Sora whispered, as she waited for the sounds of Erquas's roar to come forth and challenge the might of Ms. Perfect, only for that noise to be more of a groaning sound, as Sora opened her eyes, witnessing the grinding of swords on swords as someone was in front of her, protecting her from harm.
"Found you! Protect you! Kill him!" Sora said, as everyone looked on to see a monstrous-looking teen with torn red shorts, a tattered wetsuit where his shirt had once been, and hair that covered his eyes, sticking to him like glue, wrapped around his body. Sora looked up for a moment. At the teen's arm, it was split in two, while the other arm was nothing more than a broken key blade.
"What in the world?" Sora shouted, and as a clicking sound entered the back of her mind, a hand was placed on her shoulder. Turning gently, she could see another unknown person who must have come from the shadows, that held the Faunas Sora in one arm as a green light began to engulf her, body.
"Everyone, it's time for project Protection to begin!" Zina declared, as the sounds of footsteps echoed in the distance, with everyone knowing that the battle was only the beginning.
