Headhunting Job in the Desert
It has been two weeks since the six new members have joined Fairy Tail making their lives a little livelier than ever before, the very next day they have already gone out on their first job together and were able to come back with success in the job and come back with full reward too.
They have also done a few jobs either together or some going separate from each other and each job was done successfully though one of the jobs Rokuro was almost a burst before he went too wild with his swords when some thieves tried to get in his way. And almost hurting the client.
"Wow, would you look at that, Wakaba." Marco smiled at the Quest board.
"It's just the Quest board, Marco. We've seen it every day." Wakaba pointed out.
"I told you to call me Master! Sheesh, is it really that hard for you to remember that for the past seven years?" Marco yelled angrily at his best friend.
"Not if you keep yelling like that." Wakaba chuckled.
"But seriously, what am I supposed to be looking at?" Wakaba asked as he looks at the quest board again.
"I'm talking about the numbers of quests that we have gotten in the past two weeks! Look, five new quests on the board and only a couple of them are high on the reward!" Marco gestured over to the quests.
"Now that you mention it, there does appear to be more quests here than usual." Wakaba started to see that now.
"This means that our guild is getting back the reputation we had even though it's small, but we're getting our name back!" Marco smiled.
"And it's all thanks to our new members!" Marco said.
Marco couldn't only remember the time he was this happy was when the guild was so full of life and energy all around him, when the guild was full of wonderful and awesome people despite the many flaws they had, it was still a home everyone could come back with everyone treating each other like family.
"Hello, Master. Hello, Wakaba." Laphicet greeted the two.
"Hey kid, here to pick out a quest for the team?" Wakaba asked.
"Actually, I'm going on a solo mission for the first time. Thought I should get the experience after all the jobs I've done with my team, see if I can pull off the job on my own." Laphicet explained.
"Aw, trying to become a man. I can understand that there are times when a man needs to go out there and prove himself to handle things without relaying on others too much." Wakaba nodded.
Laphicet nods at Wakaba before turning his sight on the quest board seeing the jobs that are available for him to choose, there might not be any jobs but they're all important to help pay for the guild and other things.
There is one job that involves a missing book and a missing pet at once, but he wanted something a little more challenging, and that's when his eyes gaze upon one request about bandits in the desert causing problems for people travelling through and stealing everything they had.
"(This is something I could try.)" Laphicet thought believed he may have found his challenge.
"I'll be taking this quest." Laphicet pointed at this request.
"Bandit hunting. Seems pretty tough if you ask me." Marco commented.
"Are you sure you can handle it? Says here that the bandits live in the desert, you'll need to be extra prepared for the trip." Marco pointed out.
"I'm ready!" Laphicet nodded with a confidence smile.
"Alright, then off you go to bandit hunting!" Marco declared.
Laphicet nods, taking the request from the board and leaves to get himself ready for the job as he'll need to get some supplies from the shop.
"Hey Laphicet, I take it you found yourself a job?" Velvet asked.
"Here. I'm going to hunt down some bandits in a desert." Laphicet showed the request to his girlfriend.
"Huh, that sounds like something too hard to find like a needle in a haystack." Velvet commented.
"Don't worry, I have already thought of a plan to find the bandit." Laphicet said.
"Even so, we should make sure you have the right gear to withstand the heat." Velvet stated, not wanting anything bad to happen to him like heatstroke.
"Then you can join me on shopping at the nearby shop." Laphicet suggested.
Velvet and Laphicet walk together through the streets of Magnolia, saying hello to a few people who they walk pass, the boy has been friendly to the town folk for two weeks as he wanted to get to know the town.
The others have gotten use to the town along with finding themselves a home as Laphicet and Velvet brought a home for them to live together while the others found other houses such as Eleanor and Magilou living in Fairy Hills which is an all-female dormitory while Eizen and Rokuro just found their own homes each.
"Now, let see here. Which of these is good for heat in the sun?" Laphicet asked as he looks around.
"Well, well, well, so you two are the fucking new bitches of Fairy Tail." One man insulted.
"Do you mind, we're in the middle of shopping here." Velvet said, not in the mood to deal with this kind of thing right now.
"Hey now, no need to be all sassy with me. I was just curious when I heard word about Fairy Tail getting new members, I wanted to see for myself if this is some big joke." The man smirked.
"As you can see, beachball head, we're legit members of Fairy Tail." Laphicet showed his emblem, not liking this guy already.
"Huh, what did you just call me?" The man asked angrily, glaring down at the kid.
"I'll have you know that I'm from Twilight Ogre, Thibault!" Thibault introduced himself.
Thibault is a young man of average height with poofy dark hair. He has a prominent nose pointing downwards, with each of his nostrils going upwards in a curved motif, and pointed, mildly rectangular ears. He seems to be quite muscular, with his forearms being large, and the right one bearing a dark tattoo of his guild's symbol. Thibault wears a light shirt with short, mildly puffy sleeves, which has some dark padding over the shoulder areas, seemingly held up by a pair of bands passing below each of his shoulders and outlined by lighter edges extending to the shirt's thin, rectangular and elongated collar, which has a dark part to it. Around his waist is a light haramaki-like cloth covered in elongated dark spots, from which a buckled belt is seen emerging, passing over his right shoulder and seemingly holding up the large kanabō whose handle appears from behind his right shoulder. He also wears dark pants reaching down below his knees, paired with light buckled shoes, and has a light band circling his head, parting his curly hair, which sports a pair of short, round horns reminiscent of an oni's.
"Twilight Ogre, I feel like I should know that, but I choose not to care." Velvet mocked, which only made the guy angrier.
"It's the guild that move into Magnolia after Fairy Tail lost their strongest members, and they even force them to pay these guys to keep their guild from going down under." Laphicet explained.
"That's right, we're the ones who kept that guild up as long as we want. We're just being generous enough to keep them around even when they're all a bunch of losers." Thibault chuckled.
"Which very soon their service will no longer be acquire." Laphicet said.
"Huh?" Thibault didn't like the sound of that.
"You must've already heard that Fairy Tail has been doing good for the past two weeks, better than ever and we're going to help them get back on track." Laphicet stated strongly.
"So, why don't you go back to you bitch of a guild and tell your master that Fairy Tail will not be needing them anymore." Laphicet requested mockingly.
"(Way to tell him off.)" Velvet thought smiled proudly at him.
Thibault gritted his teeth in anger, he certainly didn't like how this little kid was being so confidence just because that stupid little guild has been doing good recently, those fuckers are still under contract to pay them every month.
"Act brave all you want, but you're going to learn what happens when you insult Twilight Ogre." Thibault pulled his metal spiky club from his back.
Velvet was about to go beat him up, but Laphicet stop her because he got this.
"Let this be a lesson for you to respect me!" Thibault threw down the club.
However, what Thibault didn't expect to happen was for the kid to actually catch it with one hand and held it back easily.
"What the fuck?!" Thibault was shocked.
"All you're doing is being bullies, to make people pay you for protect and other bullshit excuses, that kind of thing really pisses." Laphicet said.
"I rarely get super angry." Laphicet clenched his hand on the club, cracks started to appear, and then he produce so much heat that he broke the club in half.
"NOOOO?! MY CLUB?!" Thibault screamed in horror. That was his favorite club.
"You little shit! How dare you" But Thibault's anger was cut off when Laphicet punched the guy right in the dick.
"You need to do some soul searching." Laphicet advised.
"Come on, we still need to get your gears." Velvet said.
The couple leaves Thibault who is laying on the ground in aching pain of his dick being crush by a tiny fist.
(Later)
Laphicet got off the train, having survived his motion sickness along the way, and made his way to where the Fiore Desert stretches out far as the eyes can see.
"Okay, now I just need a way to get through the desert to find the bandits." Laphicet said before drinking some cold water.
"According to the police force, the bandits attack at one area where they attack and believe that their hideout would be there as well." Laphicet remembered the info.
"Still, I'm not sure if I could get there on foot." Laphicet felt concerned.
That's when Laphicet looked to his left seeing a man standing with a bunch of camels and a sign that says "Camel for Rent" which is definitely something Laphicet needs.
So, he brought a camel and rode off into the desert at the direction where the bandits would show up.
Laphicet ready himself as the desert could be full of expected things like those bandits and perhaps monsters, but he knew he has to be brave in order to complete the job and come back to the guild success.
"Alright, the bandits should be close." Laphicet said.
Suddenly an arrow was shot and hit the sand close to the camel making it stop.
"Now!" One man shouted.
About ten people jump out of the sand revealing themselves to Laphicet surprising him and the camel as it panics, but the Dragon Slayer boy tries to calm the camel down as he looks around,
"(Looks like I found the bandits.)" Laphicet thought figured these are the bandits from the request.
"The fuck is this supposed to be?" Bandit 10 asked.
"A little kid all alone in the desert. Got to be the stupidest joke I have ever heard." Bandit 3 mocked.
"I'm not just any kid, I'm a wizard. A wizard of Fairy Tail!" Laphicet revealed his guild mark.
"A wizard? Oh, that just makes this hunt a little better now!" Bandit 5 felt excited.
"Hey, did you hear what he said? He's from Fairy Tail!" Bandit 6 pointed that out.
"You mean the loser guild? What kind of idiot trust them to do anything, I bet they became desperate if they had to turn their attention to them." Bandit 1 shook his head.
"Oh, you're about to find out just how strong we really are." Laphicet said.
Laphicet immediately jumps off from his camel with both hands bursting silver flame as he is about to show what he can do.
"Silver Fire Dragon's Pyro Ring!" Laphicet spun around fast unleashing a flaming ring that came down striking at all the bandits at once.
"What the fuck…?!" Bandit 4 was shocked and quickly pull out his magic gun to shoot.
Laphicet saw this coming and performs a strong fire shield to defend against the magic bullets then send that shield to attack the bandit, a good defense is also a good offense.
A few other bandits got back up and try attacking him with their magic, but Laphicet reacted faster and took them down leaving only one left.
"(What the fuck is this?)" Bandit 7 thought shook in fear.
"You're going to tell me where your hideout is, or else you're barbeque!" Laphicet threatened with one flaming fist, taking a book out of Eizen's pirate days.
(Bandits' Hideout)
The rest of the bandits are just chilling at their hideout as they wait for the ones who left to be back with the next score they come back, but what they didn't expect was a big fireball coming down with a big explosion that blew most of them away.
"What the fuck just happened?" The bandit leader asked.
"What happened is you and your friends are about to be arrested." Laphicet answered.
The bandits were confused about why a kid is here and how did he even find this place to begin with, but it didn't matter as they need to kill him to keep their secret.
Laphicet charges forward while being careful, using his fire and speed to counter their attacks as he knocks them down as this reminds him of the fights he used to have back in his world, and now he is able to fight them off on his own with how strong he has gotten with some training he had with the others.
"Silver Fire Dragon's Cross Wings!" Laphicet formed a big pair of fiery wings then cross them together at the bandits doing some serious damage.
The bandit leader became extremely scared of this kid and tries to run away, only to suddenly become frozen in ice by a fire.
"That's what you get for ruining my vacation! No one messes with Mattan Ginger of Twilight Ogre!" Ginger was angered.
Ginger is a pale-skinned young woman with violet eyes and pink, neck-length hair with short bangs on either side of her face. She has long eyelashes and pink blush on her cheeks. Ginger wears a blue hat that sports cat ears on either side. The hat is gold-trimmed and has a gold, diamond-shaped protrusion on its front. Ginger has a curvaceous figure and wears a cutoff shirt. The upper portion of the shirt is made with transparent material, and the lower portion is blue and gold-trimmed and is designed similarly to her hat. Ginger also wears a pair of gloves that are white in color and have gray linings and are tailored in two points. She also wears a pair of transparent violet stockings and boots that reach just below her knees. They are of the same color and design of her gloves. Breasts sizes: DD-cup.
"Whoa, I think I just miss a party." Ginger was surprised.
"Oh, hello. Were you held here against your will?" Laphicet greeted her with a question.
"Yeah, thanks for taking care of them and the fire you did burn the ropes they had me tied in. If there is anything I could do for you, just let me know." Ginger winked.
(Later)
"Oh, I see." Ginger understood, having arrived back in Magnolia with Laphicet having explain everything to her, after dropping off the bandits and collect the reward.
"I'm really sorry about my guildmates. They can be real idiots, causing trouble for others, I'm not saying they're bad people, they're just too cocky and take things too far." Ginger expressed how she feels about her guild.
"I'll gladly apologize to them on behalf of my guild." Ginger said.
"Thank you, I'm sure they'd be appreciated." Laphicet smiled, but he and Ginger became shocked when they saw Thibault and his friends have been beaten into a bloody pulp by Eizen and Rokuro standing in the middle.
"Laphicet, glad to see you're back. Did the mission go well?" Eizen asked.
"Y-Yeah, what exactly happened here?" Laphicet asked.
"These guys came in wanting to wreck the place for revenge because apparently, you punched one of them in the dick. Nice going, by the way." Rokuro smiled.
"So, we decided to teach them a lesson ourselves with some moments being done by my Reaper Curse." Eizen finished the explanation.
"I am very sorry for my guildmates being idiots as bitches. I promise to make sure they never try something like this ever again!" Ginger bowed to the men.
"Now, we can really start living our lives with Twilight Ogre being put down!" Marco chuckled.
"(I guess everything worked out in the end.)" Laphicet thought believed while Ginger goes over to the Guild Master to give her apologies as well.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
