In the previous chapter…

"Go to fucking hell, Armin!"

"GYAAAAAAAA!"

SMACK! SMACK!

This was why Frieda brought her favorite baton again, just in case. Of course she hit them while shedding tears full of misery.

Again. Always. She always had to put away her gentle, womanly nature to stop their fight. By the way, her baton blow successfully silenced the two noisy mouths. Their faces both hit the floor until destroying it.

Mina, who witnessed it all from the cashier's desk, sweatdropped.

That was bad. What should she tell the manager later?

While Frieda was catching her breath, and Armin and Annie were still lying on the floor, Connie took this moment as an opportunity. He approached Ymir, saying in a mocking tone, "Can I repeat the question I asked you before we got here?"

Damn. Ymir was at a loss for words now.

It seemed like she had to start believing that helping Armin and Annie become best friends with Niccolo's cake was a bad idea.

"Can you guys sit still and enjoy your cakes? If you don't shut up, the treat is off!" Ymir finally resorted to threats because—for god's sake—she just wanted to enjoy this delicious cake in peace and quiet!

Oh my. What a noisy day.

And so, the plan of 'Armin and Annie can become best friends' through dessert failed.

Two days after the incident at the cafe where Niccolo worked…

.

.

For Ymir to make use of all her brain cells to discover a way out was not her style, but this time it was different. In front of her buddies, she put on a serious look. Ymir's face was downcast as she folded her fingers in front of her face. A few seconds later, her face rose, and she spoke something that no one in the room wanted to hear the most.

"I'll be frank. Just give up."

Eren was one among those who quickly objected.

"We just executed the first plan two days ago, and now you want to back out?"

"Creating peace on the 13th floor from the start is impossible. So we should pick the most efficient way." She stated in a serious tone.

Eren frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I've already designed various scenarios in my head. I can promise that my approach will be able to deliver a powerful blow to terminate the conflict amongst everyone on that cursed floor." Oh no. That nasty smirk showed up again.

Okay. Now what other insane schemes are hatched in this girl's head? Whatever it was, Eren had an intuition that whatever she was about to say, it would undoubtedly launch Mikasa's gorilla fist attack.

"We'll kill all five of them using a serial murder scenario that can get us off the suspect list."

And Eren's prediction was totally on point.

SMASH!

Mikasa, who was seated close to Ymir, quickly launched her fist at her face. Making her ugly face even uglier. Ymir, who did not foresee the sudden hitting, had to let herself lie on the floor while bearing the miserable pain on her face.

"I will set the rules in this discussion. It is banned to propose weird ideas like that. Otherwise, the person would meet the same fate as her." Mikasa said.

"Oh, really? I believe Ymir's suggestion just now was normal." Frieda said, who offered one vote in accord with Ymir's absurd plan. Well, everyone knew how intense this girl's wish was to get rid of the five rats that disturbed her peaceful days in the apartment.

Historia, on the other hand, groaned heavily. She wondered why every time they had a discussion, it always ended up like this. Couldn't they have a calm conversation like ordinary people?

Actually, this dream of hers was merely an illusion. Because if you think about it, none of her pals were normal. For example;

Frieda and her passion for make-up and branded items.

Eren with his stupidity and insensitivity that went beyond the limit.

Mikasa and her slave nature that always followed and obeyed Eren.

Ymir, with her gangster character, and became the mastermind behind all the wild ideas.

And the unique characteristics of her five friends who resided in Loke Apartment didn't need to be reminded anymore.

Technically, she was the only normal person among the abnormals.

"The point is, we can't use the simple method like two days ago. To change an enemy into a friend, we have to create a circumstance where they have to do it whether they like it or not." Historia swiftly returned to the issue before Mikasa hit Ymir for the second time.

"You mean… forced?" Eren asked to make sure.

"Then it would be much better if we made the five of them work together to achieve something." Mikasa stroked her chin, thinking about a strategy.

"Collaboration, huh? That's not a horrible idea. But collaboration in what way?" As usual, Eren's brain couldn't be depended on in this matter.

There was a gap of many tens of seconds for the three of them to discover a solution among 1000 solution alternatives. While Ymir was busy gathering her life that almost vanished in the moment, of course.

Not long later, Historia snapped her fingers. A hint that she had found a wonderful idea. "How about sports? For example, we placed the five of them on one squad, then—"

"Rejected. Armin is weak in athletics. He'll merely become the butt of Annie's jokes if we truly follow out your suggestion, Historia." Mikasa quickly interrupted.

Okay. It turned out that it wasn't an excellent idea from the start.

"How about college assignments? Even though Armin is in a physics degree, he practically knows everything. He has vast knowledge, right? I'm confident Annie will be assisted, since she is weak in theory rather than practice." Eren then turned up to provide a second option. But Mikasa again declined with a reasonable excuse.

"No way, Eren. It's precisely because Armin is skilled that we can't do it. Armin must have been constantly teasing Annie for not being able to do her own homework and asking for Armin's help."

"Then what else?" Eren asked in frustration.

Historia also ran out of ideas. She then asked the woman who was consistently rejecting their suggestions. "Do you have your own ideas, Mikasa?"

"Hmmm…"

To be honest, Mikasa also had an approach that had the potential to be effective, but the risk of failure was greater. This girl intended to invite the five of them to play video games. Of course there was a reason behind Mikasa's intention. That was because Armin and Connie were gamers. Especially Connie, whose playing skill was already on par with professional players.

She and Eren had watched Armin's playing level, and she had to remark that Armin's talents were not far behind Connie's. On top of that, Sasha also frequently spent time playing games with him. Thus, her talents were also outstanding. Mikasa was also quite certain that she recalled Connie once admitting that Annie and Hitch, although not very often, had also borrowedhisgame CDs. If what Connie stated was accurate, it meant that both of themcould also play it. However, there was one problem. Mikasa knew very well the capacities of Connie, Armin, and Sasha. However, Annie and Hitch were a different story. If she too quickto excecute her strategy, their relationship would become worse.

When Mikasa's head began to feel dizzy from pondering too much, Frieda unexpectedly blurted out.

"Thank you for your suggestions earlier, my juniors. Thanks to you, I gained inspiration for my proposal."

"Nee-san has a plan?" Mikasa asked.

"That's... a normal plan, right?" Historia was unable to conceal that she was wary of her older sister's idea. Would it be as ridiculous as Ymir's proposal?

Frieda grinned arrogantly. "Of course, my dear sister. In order to establish peace in Loke... in order to prevent my plan to jump from this apartment... in order to prevent me from carrying out the Ymir's serial killer scenario, I propose... " Frieda took a deep breath and then replied, "…Izod impact test as a solution."

SECOND PLAN : IZOD IMPACT TEST (FRIEDA VERSION)

PART 1

By Josephine Rose99

.

.

.

Hitch couldn't hide her annoyance at this moment. Dinner time was only half an hour away, but what was she doing now? Joining her fellow floormates in the special living room on the 13th floor. In front of her stood the apartment owner and a strange machine that Hitch didn't know what it was called. Seriously, She started to have a bad feeling.

This must be Frieda or Eren and the others' ridiculous idea in creating true friendship between them. Oh my, aren't they tired of all that?

"Let's get straight to the point." Frieda cleared her throat. "I still want to achieve my original goal: creating peace on the 13th floor of the Loke Apartment inherited from my father. That's why I brought the five of you here now."

As Hitch suspected. Her intuition was not wrong when it came to this.

Not only Hitch, Armin, on the other hand, also voiced his doubts. "Again? Come on, Nee-san. Just give up. It was merely an illusion from the start."

"Yup, yup! Let us relax in our room. We've been bored of thinking since this morning, you know," Connie said as nodding.

"Think? Since when did you use your mind to think? Don't joke around. A cheater like you would never think," Frieda and her harsh words.

Connie could only rub his chest. "Geez… How rude."

"So those weird machines behind you are another solution to make the five of us good friends, is that it?" Annie asked straight to the point while pointing at the experimental device behind Frieda. She didn't expect Frieda to be able to get a machine like that on her own. It would be different if she was Armin.

"Exactly. We're going to do the Izod impact test."

The five frowned.

Frieda wanted the five of them to do a science experiment at this time of night?

"Izod impact test?" Annie muttered softly.

Hearing the name of the experiment just now, Sasha remembered something. "If I'm not mistaken, we practiced this in the physics lab in high school."

"That's right. You guys are already acquainted with this test, so you'll surely comprehend it easily."

"Tch. This is guaranteed to fail again like your crazy honesty game back then, Nee-san." Hitch said, belittling Frieda's efforts for the umpteenth time. Frieda's hypertension flared up again when she heard this.

Just like Hitch, Connie also had no desire or determination to sacrifice his body and soul to follow the wishes of the apartment owner. "Then what makes Nee-san so sure that we'll go through with your plan?"

Frieda knew that her bastard juniors would definitely refuse to follow her idea from the start. But don't call her part of the Reiss family if she didn't prepare additional preparations to carry out her holy mission. She was sure that the words that would come out of her sexy lips would change the minds of the devil's children in front of her.

"By giving permission to every single resident in this apartment to kill you all in a gang."

Yup, she won the bet. Now all the residents of the 13th floor were glaring at her.

"WHAT!?"

"Listen, okay. The reason why you're still alive right now is because I restrained the other residents from murdering you. You should be thanking me," Frieda's devilish smile appeared. A smile that was very annoying for anyone who saw it. "So, if you don't want to... I can get five coffins in five different sizes right now." Frieda and her classic threats.

"Tch! Damn it! Another threat!?" Annie cursed.

"Uuurrghh…" Sasha growled in annoyance.

"Okay! Okay! Alright! We agree! Satisfied!?" Connie really wanted to slam a barrage of fists at his senior, but he held back. Because that would be so unmanly.

Too easy.

Frieda became the center of attention too easily. Her sly smile grew wider when she saw the resigned looks of her devil juniors.

"Good answer," she said proudly. "Now, back to the topic. As you know, the Izod impact test is a method of testing the resistance of a material to impact by clamping the specimen on one side and hitting it with a pendulum, then measuring the energy absorbed when it breaks. How it works is simple. First, you arrange the test specimen horizontally on the support. Then create a notch on the test specimen. Second, swing the pendulum hammer from a given height. Hit the test specimen with the pendulum hammer. Finally, measure the difference in the height of the hammer before and after the fracture. You may utilize the measuring formula, which is…"

"Cut it to the end, will you, Nee-san? Basically, do you want us to become physics students like that blonde sissy? I'm an art student, you know. I have no business with dull experiments like this." Annie immediately interrupted Frieda's scientific explanation before her single-digit brain couldn't process all the information in a short time.

Connie also agreed with her. "Agreed. I'd rather take a sleep than finish this simple test."

"The equation is too easy. Even I, who's majoring in Informatics, can accomplish this while sleeping." Hitch and her self-confidence were back again.

"It's almost time for dinner, Nee-san. Can't you let me go to the restaurant right now?" You guys can guess who said this.

These bastards. How dare they take the problem she gave them lightly? Maybe if Frieda didn't have a conscience, she would have swallowed them all whole.

"Hooo… So you folks think this is simple and uninteresting, huh?" she asked.

"Isn't it obvious? This experiment isn't my level," Armin's pride level went up a notch. Well, even though he wasn't wrong, anyway.

"So you're confident that you can complete this experiment without any mistakes?"

All the occupants of the 13th floor nodded in unison.

"Of course!"

"I see, I see," Frieda nodded slightly. But suddenly her body radiated an unfriendly aura. "Then, let me make this experiment a little more fun…"

It didn't take a minute for Frieda to modify the boring experiment into something 'fun'. No, it wasn't fun at all. The psychopath girl placed the mannequin doll in the sample holder on her test equipment. Positioning it in a position where it stood right in front of the hammer, so that if the hammer was swung, there was no doubt that the hammer would hit the mannequin's groin!

The inhabitants of the 13th floor stared in shock! Their eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets!

Was this what she meant by fun? Had this Reiss descendant gone crazy?!

Frieda turned around. Giving an expression like an FBI fugitive who always escapes pursuit. A proud yet arrogant expression.

"If you're as much of a genius as you say, you should be able to calculate the right angle of the pendulum that won't crush your groin, right?"

No mistake! The mannequin was just a substitute! Frieda intended to make the five of them as living samples in this deadly scientific test!

Hitch was the first to immediately show off a row of monster teeth. "Peace solution, my ass! This is more like a penalty game!"

"Are you really human, Frieda Reiss!?" Sasha shouted.

"You should be ashamed!" Annie pointed her middle finger at Frieda. How rude.

"If you think this is a joke, it's not funny!" Armin also didn't want to involve himself in a life-killing test like that.

"So what?" Frieda said indifferently, as if challenging, "You all are still virgins, right? While you guys still notusing your crotches, I'll train you through this test."

What did that jerk just say?

If she wanted to train the groin of the five of them, that was not how it's done!

"Okay then! I'm going to enjoy my dinner first. Remember! You guys only have 5 attempts to find out the answer. If not, I'll make sure you'll be slain tonight."

Frieda walked out casually without any burden. She didn't care at all about the feelings of her five juniors, who were now in turmoil. Maybe she considered dinner more important than the moment of risking their lives, so the five uttered various curses.

"That damn woman!" Sasha cursed while punching the wall.

"Is she crazy!?" Hitch join to cursed as well.

"I never thought that psychopath was Historia's sister! What did her mother crave while she was pregnant with that creature in her belly?" It was unusual for Armin to insult his seniors, but this time the situation was different.

There was a pause of several tens of seconds that they filled with silence. The five could only stare at each other, not knowing what to do. They stayed there with various thoughts raging. But they realized that there was no benefit if they did nothing. The situation forced them to join Frieda's ridiculous idea or die at the hands of the other floor's residents.

Connie took a deep breath. He glanced at his four friends. "…So what now?"

Armin scratched his head. He was stressed now. It could be said that he was now more stressed facing Frieda than answering the final semester exam questions.

"Let me get this straight." Armin stepped closer to the whiteboard. Grabbing a marker and starting to write something on the board. So, the other four people inevitably paid more attention to what he wanted to convey.

First trial: We don't have any data. So we instinctively estimate the height that will 100 percent destroy the sample.

Second trial: Based on the previous experiment, we will lower the angle to enhance the success of the experiment.

Third trial: We utilize the previous experiment data and lower the angle while noting the measurement error.

Fourth trial: We utilize the data from the third experiment to compute the angle height precisely.

Fifth trial: All the experimental data are gathered and computed using the equation. So that it is feasible to achieve the angle height of the pendulum that does not damage the sample.

It turned out that Armin wrote the experimental method for five trials. Yes, of course it would be five trials. Because the living samples for the deadly experiment were the five of them themselves.

But wait a minute. Wasn't there one dangerous conclusion drawn from the five trials? They didn't need to be geniuses like Armin to figure it out. Unfortunately, that conclusion made every one of them swallow their saliva.

"THE FIRST TRIAL IS GUARANTEED DEATH!"

This was their inner voice screaming hysterically.

"So… who's first?" Sasha was honestly afraid to ask this. Please, not her! Please, not her!

Then came Annie's brilliant idea. This girl snapped her fingers as if her idea would definitely be accepted without complaint.

"What about Connie? A man's unpopular crotch doesn't seem like a problem to sacrifice, right?"

"I don't know why, but I really like your idea, Annie," and sure enough. Armin immediately agreed.

It was a different story with the young man who would be used as the first living sample. Connie quickly put up a shield before he really became a sacrifice for Annie's idea. "I'm not here to listen to your insults, you bastards! And why should I!? Let's decide with rock-paper scissors! I think that's the fairest way!"

"Wait a minute. Isn't there a more effective approach than this?" Hitch immediately interrupted. She was just wondering why her friends didn't realize that they had the most effective human resource in dealing with the current problem.

"Why don't we ask our Einstein to figure this out?"

Exactly. Although Armin had always stood on a different side from her best friend, this time they were on the same team. Frieda's idiotic experiment was no problem for Arlert, who always got a perfect GPA every semester.

"That's right! Why didn't we think of it?" Sasha gasped. She just realized she was senile for a moment.

Connie patted Armin's back. "Alright. We'll leave it to you, Arlert."

"What on earth? So I'm the only one battling alone?" Armin gave a displeased look.

Unfortunately, he himself knew that he was the only one who could answer the equation of the death test. It would be even more dangerous if he left this to them. It could be that before they got the right answer, they would officially become the next inhabitants of hell.

Armin took a deep breath. It seemed like he had to be the hero this time.

"Can't be helped…"

Finally, our four idiot students could see a glimmer of hope in this drama-filled night.

Armin took the marker again. Ready to use his 3-digit IQ to save his life and those of his friends. However, when the marker was pointed at the board, Frieda suddenly appeared with a blank face from behind the door.

"Oh yeah. I skipped to tell you one thing. The only ones who can calculate using equations are the four of you. That feminine blonde is not permitted to touch paper and pen or provide hints."

Armin's hand movement suddenly stopped.

Wait a minute! What did she just say? Armin was not allowed to calculate, she said?

So she wanted the four idiots to answer this stupid test equation question until the end, while Armin just watched?!

"Break this rule of mine, and I'll send the five of you to your graves faster," Frieda said again. But this time she said it while attaching some kind of small speaker-shaped device to Armin's collar.

Armin and the others stared in horror. Did that mean Armin couldn't say anything as a hint to help!?

Of course Armin didn't immediately accept the absurd rule. He opened his mouth, ready to protest. But his words were swallowed when Frieda's index finger pointed at something in the corner of the room. The eyes of the five of them followed the direction the dirty finger was pointing.

CCTV.

Damn it. As expected, they were being watched!

So, Frieda returned to the first floor, the floor where she resided. Leaving her five juniors, who were only able to put on a flat expression, as flat as Ymir's chest, which was always compared to a plywood board.

"I don't know why, but I'm starting to feel a glimmer of light pulling me closer." Don't blame Connie for muttering like this.

Sasha scratched her head. She started to get stressed and screamed in agony. "So it's just the four of us fighting here? This isn't fair! AAARRGHH!"

"The calculations aren't hard. You only need to follow the directions on the board," Armin commented spontaneously, making the other four glance at him with sharp gazes.

Hitch almost threw her pretty shoes into the young scientist's dirty mouth if she couldn't control herself.

"Easy for you to say, Einstein! Don't compare the quality of our brains to yours!" she shouted while pointing her middle finger at Armin.

Continuing to scream incoherently would not provide a solution. Sasha, who was known for her idiocy, also understood this. She was still curious about her previous unanswered question.

"Wait a minute. Let's come back to the very first question," she said, interrupting Hitch before the girl really went berserk. "Who would like to volunteer to be the first sample?"

The room fell silent again.

They just glanced at each other timidly, not daring to answer and not daring to volunteer like heroes. But in the tense silence, Annie proposed a brilliant idea.

"Alright. Since only the four of us have the right to count here, that means Armin will be the first."

Armin glared. His soul almost left his body.

After Connie, now that barbaric woman proposed him as a sacrifice for Frieda's deadly ritual!?

"WHAT!?"

Meanwhile, Sasha and the others were smiling arrogantly as if they had just won a million-dollar lottery.

Sasha folded her arms. She snorted happily because she wasn't the first victim. "Agreed."

"I was about to suggest it without you saying it," Hitch said, acting like a protagonist in a drama.

"WAIT A MINUTE! WHY ME!?" Armin shouted, not accepting the discrimination he received.

Connie immediately gave the bespectacled young man a flat look. "Shut up, Blondie. Just accept your injustice from us."

"You're a woman, after all, right? A bump on your crotch won't harm you as a guy would," Annie said, hurting Armin's pride for the umpteenth time.

"I'M A MAN!" Armin replied angrily. "Whatever it is, I don't want it! Why should I be sacrificed first simply because I'm not counting?"

Sadly, Annie had no intention of listening to Armin's nonsense protests. She just wanted to finish this stupid experiment so she could have dinner faster.

Annie glanced at Hitch, who was now also glancing at her. It seemed they had the same idea. This made Armin have an even worse feeling. What were these two female monsters in front of him going to do?

"Lieutenant, help me," Annie ordered, which was met with a military salute from Hitch.

"Yes, Colonel!"

Oh, no! Armin's mind wasn't ready for this! He didn't want to die young! He still wanted to pursue his dream of winning the Nobel Prize!

"Eh? Eh? Eh? W-What do you want?" Armin started to get scared when Annie and Hitch approached him, then grabbed his arms forcefully. Then the two girls dragged him closer to Frieda's hellish machine that would definitely destroy the young man's future.

Armin shook his head quickly. He struggled. His feet tried to tread the floor firmly, but in the end he was unable to fight Annie and Hitch's strength.

"N-no! Stop! Please stop! My perineum is still necessary biologically!"

"Shut up, Armin. Just take it easy, man. This will be over in an instant."

"NO, WAIT! PLEASE, ANNIE! I'LL DO ALL YOUR ASSIGNMENTS AS LONG AS YOU DON'T MAKE ME YOUR FIRST SAMPLE!"

"Hmmm, good idea. But, no."

"YOU SADISTIC WOMAN! BARBARIAN! GORILLA! YOU TURTLE FACE!"

There was no doubt for Annie not to beat Armin unconscious when she heard the insults just now. One punch to his head successfully made Armin's face hit the floor.

Hitch who witnessed her friend's ferocity could only grin awkwardly.

"You don't have to be that sadistic, you know that?"

Armin could feel the light slowly being received by his retina, making him blink his eyes. The young man slowly adapted to the amount of light coming in. Soon he felt an excruciating pain in his head. Maybe it was because of the effects of the fierce blow from the most ferocious woman he had ever met.

Who knows how long he had been unconscious. Armin had completely lost track of what day and time it was. But he soon got the answers to those questions when he found himself perfectly installed in the Izod test sample position.

Damn! So he was unconscious for only a few minutes!?

"Eh? Eh? EEEEKKHHH!?" Armin screamed in shock, seeing that his hands and feet had been chained. He really couldn't escape!

Connie, who was now busy arranging the test machine components with her colleagues, was surprised to see Armin wake up so quickly. Even though they had intended to pour a bucket of water on the genius young man's face if he didn't wake up, it turned out that it wasn't necessary.

"Tch. He's awake. It can't be helped. Let's hurry up this experiment," said Connie, not wanting to waste time.

Armin could feel his hopes of life slipping away.

"JU-JUST A MINUTE, GUYS!"

"All the equipment is set, Colonel!" said Hitch.

"The height of the pendulum angle has also been adjusted!" Sasha was also ready to set the hammer that would destroy their dreams tonight.

Annie nodded with authority. "Alright. Let's execute this."

"STOOOOP! DON'T DO THAT! ARE YOU GUYS OUT OF YOUR MIND!?"

"EVERYONE, IN HONOR OF OUR FALLEN SOLDIER, SALUTE!" shouted Annie, raising her hand, giving Armin his final salute from her.

Her movement was followed by the other three. They stood up straight, giving their salutes accompanied by tears as if they were attending the funeral of a hero who had fallen on the battlefield.

Armin's legs were shaking violently. He knew he couldn't escape this time. Plus, after seeing Izod's test hammer swing perfectly, aiming right at his crotch at high speed, Armin knew that he would be gone for sure.

No, no! He still wanted to use his thing down there biologically, not experimentally!

Damn Frieda! This was all because of her!

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

BANG!

"Hmm… It feels like 145 degrees is too high. We must set it lower..." Annie scribbled on a piece of paper while surrounded by the other occupants of the 13th floor. Of course the other three nodded in understanding as if they had just solved a super complicated problem.

Hey. Then how about Armin?

Ah. The young man fell face down with his butt in the air. It was truly the most uncool and painful position to fall in. However, there was not a single human nearby who had the conscience and humanity to help him get up.

Maybe Ymir was right. All the occupants of the 13th floor were not humans, but demons without feelings.

For example, look at Connie, who entered science professor mode when he saw their first data. He took the paper from their first experiment. His expression looked proud.

"Finally, we can get the first data as a reference for the next experiment," he said, greeted by nods of agreement from the others.

Hmmm… maybe this Izod impact test was more interesting than they thought. Not bad, right? Killing two birds with one stone. While learning, they can take revenge on each other.

What a fiend.
