Three Months later….
"The weather is strange," thought Naruto. Sometimes he felt that it rained because the Gods were empathizing with the poor souls of the world whose sadness and grief touched their hearts. Sometimes, he believed the summer heat was their punishment. It was days like today, with sunny warmth turning into a sudden downpour, he wondered if the Gods were just as bipolar as his bastard. Today was a rare, rare day off from the heavy load and emotionally draining atmosphere of the hospital. So why was his bastard of a husband, snoring in their bed and almost teenage children on their phones in their shared room. He frowned as he glanced out the window, flinching when the thunder roared, and lightning flashed. The worst part was that his intuition when it came to the weather had been off. Naruto walked toward the kitchen, opening the refrigerator door blanky looking inside. The fridge held only leftover takeout, some juice, and half a gallon of milk. The Uchiha-Uzumaki household wasn't known for their cooking skills; he freely admitted he lacked talent in culinary arts. His husband, perfect in all ways or so Sasuke told him often was an excellent cook. It was something that Naruto couldn't forgive him for and Sasuke in his infinite wisdom or rather the desire to get laid never brag about. Naruto slammed the refrigerator door closed and stood in front of it with a hand at his hips and glared at it. If the refrigerator were a sentient being, it would have cringed at the intensity of Naruto's stare.
"What did the poor refrigerator do to you, dobe?" Sasuke asked yawning as he walked into the kitchen. He rubbed his eyes like a child and hugged Naruto from behind. He peered at the fridge as he rested his chin on Naruto's shoulder.
Naruto rolled his eyes. "It's empty!" He mumbled, turning to look deeply into Sasuke's dark eyes.
"Maybe, I should take cooking lessons," the blonde grinned at the sudden wide-eyed Sasuke. Sasuke swallowed, uncertain how to respond. It was a trap. It had to be a trap. He had to think how to answer diplomatically. The Uchiha's never back down or feared evil but Naruto's cooking – was-something-he-feared. He didn't want to die, and he didn't want their children to die. Life was too short, he knew that as an ER doctor. He swallowed hard, his Adams apple bob up and down trying to produce a way to discourage his dobe.
"Naruto, what we need is a vacation!"
Naruto blinked.
"Vacation?"
Sasuke nearly sighs in relief. He narrowly escaped death. He nodded enthusiastically. A rare grinned on his face. He mentally patted himself on his back and as little Sasuke cheered him on inside his head of course. Jumping and pumping his fist. He forgot one thing. The outliner in his little spur of the moment plan, when trying to save his and his children lives and not to mention sexy times with his dobe, was the dobe himself. Sasuke didn't like the look that came into his dobe's eyes. Nope, nope. It was in that moment; the dark hair man felt a chill go down his spine. Doom.
The blonde grinned. His evil little plot had worked perfectly. Now, all he needed to do was convince the rest of the gang to join them. This was going to be fun!
Itachi and Hinata looked at their nine-year-old daughter whose big round crystal blue eyes were filled with tears. Mika had been accidentally left at the supermarket and her parents shared a guilty look. Itachi flinched when Hinata gave him an accusing look.
The little girl sobbed, "… and then the police man." Mika let out a pitiful cry. Itachi cowered as his wife pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes at him. Hinata smiled at her firstborn, knelt, hugged Mika, and patted her back soothingly. The little girl wails.
"Uchiha's don't cr.."
"Finish that sentence Itachi and you will be sleeping at Kisame's for a week!" Hinata hissed. Itachi swallowed. His heart ached and he felt guilty. It was almost as bad as the time, he "accidentally" forgot to pick up his brother from his after-school activities when Sasuke had been five. He often wonders if that's one of the many reasons his little brother had trust issues. No, it was worse because this was his own daughter, his pride, joy and everything. Itachi was aware that he slipped and for a moment he had sounded like his father.
He nodded at his wife and hugged them both. "I'm sorry, peaches" he placed a kiss on his daughter dark head and gave his wife a quick peck on the lips.
Forgive me, he mouthed. She gently smiles and relaxes further in his embrace. For the million time, since he met Hinata, Itachi thanks the gods for her. The fact was that he was tired, his Stressful job and Hinata's high risked pregnancy was wreaking havoc with his cool, easy-going demeanor. Even KIsame threatened to kick his ass to the point his pretty face would need reconstruction or so he said. Kisame, his best friend and gentle soul, was frustrated with Itachi's increased Uchihaness.
He closes his eyes, feeling an unusual sensation behind them. Considering the idea that Uchiha's do not cry, he internally dismisses it with a neutral expression. Indeed.
Hinata hugged her husband back, she knew it had not been his fault. The man wasn't as perfect as he pretended to be for the sake of his precious little brother, wife and child.
"Itachi-Kun, why don't we go on a vacation," she suggested smiling.
"Nani?"
Kakashi was ready to retire, he was still young, and he had a lover a couple of years younger than him. Who in his eye's rivals even the goddess of love in both beauty and attractiveness. So why did he feel so old? His bones ache. No, his very essence ached, and it had nothing to do with age and everything to do with the recent passing of one Sarutobi, beloved and admired by all. He rubbed his eyes and rotated in his new office chair, which Naruto and Sasuke had gifted him after walking in on him and Obito. It was their fault really, bleach Naruto said would never, ever erase the image of their naked ass. Sasuke agreed with his ever-present glare and famous Uchiha scowl. If looks could kill, he be dead many, many times since reuniting with Obito. Kakashi stared at the celling, touching the scar that ran through his right eye. So deep in thought and memories that he lost his balance when the door of his office was forcefully open, slamming againts the wall.
"KAKASHI! We are going on a vacation!"
If I killed him, would it be considered an act of passion, Kakashi though peering at his lover from the floor. He smiles pleasantly at Obito who looked like a scared rabbit for a second before grinning down at him apologetically.
"Sorry, love! Didn't mean to scare you!"
There was just no escaping the idiot. He could not, even if he wanted to. His very scary father-in-law had him sign papers. PAPERS! Obito apologized to Kakashi when he brought out the contract. It wasn't a prenup more like Kakashi was promising to be faithful, supportive, and to forever cherish Obito, he had sign to keep the Uchiha's from castrating him and he really didn't want to end up buried somewhere in Sound. The fearsome five were on standby just in case he broke any of the clauses in the contract. There were many, many clauses and all of them seemed to involve some sort of injury to little Kakashi. He smirks, little Kakashi wasn't so little. He shook his head clearing his mind and finally grasping what his idiot was saying.
"What are you talking about idiot?"
Obito grinned as he approached Kakashi holding out his hand to help him up.
"Vacation?"
Obito nodded enthusiastically, he reminded Kakashi of an eager puppy. Rolling his eyes he pulled Obito into a hug.
"Anywhere but your uncle's island," he said, gently kissing the top of his head. He had long ago decided that when it came to Obito's harebrain ideas, going with the flow would save him infinite amounts of pain. Besides, how bad could it be? to relax somewhere alone with his most important person. A sudden shiver ran down his spine. He didn't know why but he just had a premonition.
The fearsome five listen intently, making sure that once anything sounding remotely like moans, grunting and the occasional "Whose Your Daddy!" they shut that audio down. They still could not get the images out of their minds when they had cameras installed in Kakashi's office. Seriously, bleaching their eyes to the point they bleed red with dark swirls had not been enough. So, limited audio no cameras and the occasional sweep just to make sure that Kakashi hadn't broken any of the clauses was enough. Besides, the doctor had told them that any more bleaching of the eyes would make them go blind. All the brothers nodded to each other. Vacation.
Now Sai has never been one to get excited about many things. He was an Uchiha and Uchiha's did not do excitement in the normal way anyway. His father was a well, known and establish businessperson with many men working under him. He was the one and only son of Madera and he would inherit the "legit" business, once the old man died. In the meanwhile, Sai was permitted to continue his career. Sai's talent for art had landed him prestigious contracts. He was talented, creating BL manga and painting masterpieces that sold for high prices. Human beings, he ponders thoughtfully. Recently, he has been uninspired, due to aging or having feelings for someone who is not accessible. Simply put, he was bored. Everything and everyone came easily to him, accept the one person. The one person, who had inspired him, whose face he dreams about. Sai touches his lips, licking them, pink tongue running around the edges of his mouth trying to taste the sensation of the one time, he held and kissed that person. There was several thuds and sudden shouting around him. Sai grinned ducking his head and gripping the pen tightly as he sign his name with a dramatic flourish not caring that he had cause a commotion.
He should let his suppressed evil way's surface. Sai chewed on his pen, causing the fan girls waiting in line to get his autograph to sigh dreamily followed by some more sudden thuds and moaning.
Sai smile, his most charming and utterly fake smile. Perhaps he simply required some time off.
A vacation.
To be continue…..
