Chapter 13:
It was midnight, everyone was asleep, clocked in for the day. Well, everyone except Ozpin. He was monitoring Vale and the nearby forest, looking for something.
The past couple months, monitors captured the movement of something in the forest. While normally he would assume it was Grimm, one camera managed to capture the faint image of a red blur. Maybe it was Spider-Man? But he hasn't been to the forest in a while. No, there was something else.
A few moments later, Ozpin started to receive a call from his scroll. Looking at his scroll, he I slightly surprised to see it was General Ironwood calling him.
Answering the scroll Ozpin says, "Hello old friend, it has been a while."
"It has, but I didn't just call to have a chat." Ironwood replied.
"I presumed, and why would you be calling on such a short notice?" Ozpin asked.
"I was calling to inform you that I will be arriving in Vale much sooner than intended." Ironwood answered.
"I see, and for what reason would you be arriving so soon?" Ozpin asked.
"We both know why, have you read the recent article from VNN?" Ironwood asked himself.
Ozpin remembered very clearly what that article had published. The body of four Huntsmen found, shred to pieces with many internal organs and the heads of the victims missing. The sight was so gruesome that no photos were released to the public. When Glynda went to investigate, she came back very distraught, an emotion that she rarely expressed. He had to admit, it even he was disturbed from the sight.
"I have, I even saw pictures that weren't shown to the public, a gruesome sight." Ozpin replied "But why would you come by for something like this? Surely many people have died in similar ways as well on missions."
"Not like this, and you know it. Even the Grimm aren't capable for this amount of carnage, and I believe whatever caused those deaths could also be responsible for what caused this death inside the City of Vale as well." Ironwood countered.
"You may have a point, but what would you suggest our next course of action should be?" Ozpin asked "Surely you aren't going to bring your army here for something like this."
"My Atlesian Knights will do the job, once everyone sees the potential of this tech everyone will know how much safer they will be." Ironwood answered.
"Bringing your army during a time of peace will only make people afraid. And as far as anyone knows, bringing an army for one culprit of the murders won't help either." Ozpin slightly scolded.
"Then we keep this classified, as far as anyone knows we are here to celebrate the festival much sooner. Once the culprit is brought to justice, everyone will see how safe they are, that's if it's a person." Ironwood countered.
"You don't think a regular person could do this? As far as we know, it could be a sick individual." Ozpin replied.
"No, while I have no evidence to support my claims, at the same time the lack of evidence of what caused all of these deaths makes me think she could be responsible for this." Ironwood answered.
Ozpin sits there thinking for a moment, while the idea of her being involved did cross his mind, he knew that she wouldn't be making a move like this. It was to reckless, no something else was behind this.
"That idea did come to me, but unless there is enough evidence, I believe the best course of action would be to observe and gather more evidence." Ozpin replied.
"Well, I believe the best action now would be to take action. Once I arrive I will discreetly send some knights along with some of my men to find the culprit, and put an end to the needless deaths." Ironwood told the headmaster. "I'll see you soon Ozpin, have a goodnight." The general said as he hung up.
Ozpin say there, thinking about what his old friend told him. While he understood why Ironwood would take such actions, he didn't agree with them. Such actions could cause panic among the civilians in Vale, and attract more grimm to the city, making things even worse.
Once again the doors of the elevator opened once again, revealing Glynda coming in with a large pot of coffee and two empty mugs. She set the items on the desk in front of him and took a seat.
"Good evening Glynda, I assume you've had a busy day." Ozpin spoke.
"You are correct." Glynda replied as she poured coffee in each mug. "With the current situation in Vale, I had to make sure the safety of the students are my top priority. I made sure curfews were added to keep them all safe." Glynda added.
"That's good, but something tells me that hasn't been easy, especially with one specific student." Ozpin comments.
Glynda sighs, "Yes, young Parker doesn't comply with the rules. If anything, he is spending more time out there trying to find the culprit behind these murders. If you were to look out the window I guarantee you will spot him sneaking out the premises." Glynda says, with slight frustration in her voice.
And to her credit, she was correct as Ozpin decided to look the window to see Peter in his suit heading out once again.
"You were correct, he is leaving once more." Ozpin said, getting another sigh of frustration from the Huntress. "Does his team know?"
"No, they seem to be unaware about where he goes. I don't think they realize he leaves while they all sleep." Glynda replied. "I'm not sure how to deal with that young man."
Before Ozpin could say anything, they hear a voice respond. "Good luck, I spend a lot of time trying to get him to rest sometimes."
Ozpin and Glynda both turn to the source of the familiar and ominous voice. They look towards the vent to see black ooze seep out. Once it was on the floor, the ooze forms a head and says, "Hello, surprised to see me?"
"You! What are you doing here you creature?! Why aren't you with Mr. Parker?!" Glynda shouts, slightly on edge, preparing to grab her crop.
"Glynda please, settle down." Ozpin says, making sure she wouldn't do anything she would regret. "But I am curious on why you are here as well."
"Simple, I am bored and Parker won't listen when I tell him he should take a break. Trust me, literally live inside his head. So I decided to let him go on his own so we can take a break from each other at least." The symbiote answered as it got closer to the table. "So, is this were you both spend your measly days? I have to say it's quite sad."
"Why here?" Glynda asked, keeping a safe distance from the alien. "Why come up here?"
"Like I said, I'm bored. That and there was no chocolate in the cafeteria." Venom explained as it jumped onto the table and sniffed the coffee pot. It then showed a face of disappointment, which was new for the two Huntsmen as it usually expressed a creepy smile. "Bah! More coffee, I'm getting sick of this stuff. Do you have anything chocolate related on your person?"
Surprisingly to Glynda, Ozpin pulled one out of his drawer, and gave placed it in front of the alien.
"Ok wow, I didn't actually think you had one. A surprise but a welcome one." Venom says as it looks at the candy, and then it snatched the object and swallowed it whole. "Yummy."
"Do you have to eat the wrapper as well?"
"No, but I find it funny to do so." Venom replies, "Now, I believe you were talking about Parker women. I'll just tell you that trying to get him to listen is extremely difficult, he is very stubborn."
While still at a safe distance Glynda replies, "I already know that, however he should still listen to the rules. There are consequences to breaking them and he knows it. I'm assuming you have something to do with that."
"Nah, we can't control Parker. That kid has the strongest willpower I have ever seen. All I can do now is pitch ideas, no controlling." Venom retorts.
"That is something I have guessed about him. No child would keep doing what he does after everything that has happened after all." Ozpin says.
"Heh, no ordinary individual would be able to. Another attribute of Parker that makes him strong, and me stronger." Venom chuckles. "But he still has flaws, holding back is one I consider a flaw."
"I wouldn't call that a flaw, that is a sign of strength." Ozpin comments.
"Something that will get him killed. I don't understand morality like you both do, so the way I see it sparring your enemies is inefficient." Venom countered "They come back, vow revenge, and try to destroy you. If you don't believe it, then I am the best example."
"What do you mean by that?" Glynda asked, slightly unnerved.
"Remember I said Parker and I have bonded a second time? Well the first time we were bonded, I tried to change him and his behavior to suit my needs." Venom began, "But the second Parker realized I was sentient, and that I was making him more aggressive, he ripped me off and tried to freeze me to death. Which to be honest, I'm a bit offended now that I look back at it because he is willing to spare criminals who have undoubtedly done worse and yet immediately tried to destroy me."
"And I can correctly assume that didn't work?" Ozpin asked.
"Oh no, it did not. Seriously, I can survive the cold vacuum of space, and his immediate course of action is to freeze me? Sometimes it annoys me how very little he uses his brain." Venom replied. "Anyways, after that I bonded with Eddie Brock, both of us wanted revenge on Parker, we tried to make his life a living hell, we fought, he outsmarts us, and repeat."
"What do you mean by outsmart? Can he not defeat you?" Glynda asked.
"Physically no, I am too strong for him. But when it comes to the battle of the mind, he is superior. Which is ironic since at the same time it's also his weakness." Venom explained. "But that is now history, I mostly care about the now. So, what can you share with me? I didn't just come here to chat."
"You came here for more information, you heard the conversation I had with James, didn't you?" Ozpin asked, surprising Glynda.
"Guilty, what should I know about him?" Venom asked. "Besides the fact he sounded paranoid, that's something that will only lead to disaster."
Ozpin contemplates for a moment, wondering if it would be wise for him to tell the alien. Lying to the creature would mostly likely be a terrible option, and refusing to answer wouldn't work either since the creature could probably find it's own way of figuring that out.
Deciding to respond, Ozpin says, "He is a general with an army of machines at his disposal. He will mostly likely make the situation with the mysterious murders worse by scaring the public with said machines."
"Ah, machines, I never really liked those things. Besides the fact they have no nutrients to gain, they just look so soulless, it's disturbing. And that's me talking so that's something to dwell on. I don't get usually disturbed, let alone scared by anything you eukaryotic beings present." Venom comments, which actually surprised the two Huntsmen.
"Wait you have encountered machines before?" Glynda asked.
"A few million years ago, give or take. The Klyntar arrived on a planet to feast amongst the population. But when they resisted, they used machines instead of actual soldiers. I found them uncanny, but I don't think the others did." Venom explained.
"What do you mean by feed upon?" Glynda asked with slight fear.
"I believe you can both guess. Be glad I was the one that ended up here, and not one of the others."
"Hm, that's concerning." Ozpin says, deciding to take the conversation into a different direction, he asks, "How old are you exactly?"
"Billions, around that number. Unlike your species, I am not burdened by the evolution failure of aging, I will live on forever." Venom answered, with a slight sadness that Ozpin was able to pick up.
"That's impossible, nothing can live that long!" Glynda shouts.
The symbiote gives a deadpanned expression to the women, it then splatted it's on the floor, turning itself into a puddle, much to their surprise.
Forming a face, the symbiote says, "I am a puddle of goo that doesn't have any organs at all. I literally don't have a heart, or lungs, or brain, or anything at all. Yet you find my age unbelievable? You know what, I won't waste my time arguing with you Remnant dweller." Venom retorts as he forms a head again. "Now back to my question, is there anything else I need to know about this general?"
"No, you essentially have most of the information about him from our conversation you eavesdropped on." Ozpin answered.
"Fine, I'll just inform Parker of the general and the both of us will try and be more stealthy. I doubt any of us here would want someone like him finding out of our existence." Venom guessed. "Now I'm bored again, I'm going to find something to do while I wait for Parker. Until next time, try to remember where I roam in this building and not be surprised. Oh and bring hot chocolate next time, please and thank you." Venom chuckles as it left through the vents.
After a few minutes, Glynda and Ozpin began to speak among themselves. "There is no way we can let that thing roam free in the building." Glynda says.
"I understand what you are saying, it seems it had been listening in on my conversation with James a few moments ago. However we can't exactly command it to listen to us." Ozpin replied. "Fortunately it has only been to the cafeteria and surprisingly the library.
"Why the library? It is trying to learn more about us?" Glynda asked.
"Specifically, how the brain works. Looking through recent footage from the library, it has been reading about how the human mind works, the emotional aspects." Ozpin began. "I believe it has been trying to understand how emotions work and maybe how it relates to morality. It itself confirmed that it doesn't understand the sense of morals."
"That is unexpected, but why? Why would it be trying to learn about subjects like this?" Glynda asked.
"I believe it's to understand young Parker, if both them are going to work together as one, they will need to understand each other. And I believe the creature is finally changing for the better. If you paid attention to it's speech, you can tell it isn't as aggressive as before, it also refers itself as an individual, and the way it said the name of it's species with slight distain makes me believe it doesn't see them as one of them."
"So you really believe the creature is changing? Are you sure you want to take that chance?"
"The only thing I can do is observe it, we both know that. But if anything were to happen that would trigger it, I believe Mr. Parker may be able to handle it. Another thing it confirmed is Parker has defeated it before." Ozpin answered.
"I'm not sure if it's wise to let Peter deal with all this himself. It's not safe." Glynda said with concern. "And was it a could idea to tell it about James? You know how rash he tends to act sometimes."
"The exact reason I told it, it now knows to act cautiously now that it's aware James is coming. While it does bother me that it has experience with dealing with military forces, the creature seems more concerned with keeping it's existence a secret than finding a challenge now." Ozpin explains.
"Still, I don't trust it. Trying to get a read on that thing isn't easy." Glynda says, getting a nod of agreement from Ozpin. "So, when is James arriving then?"
"Soon, in a few days at most. He is here deal with the mysterious murders himself." Ozpin answered.
"I see, hopefully he doesn't do anything too irrational, we already have a lot on our plate as is." Glynda says as she decided to leave. Turning around she then asks, "Would you like me to keep an eye out for more information about this mysterious deaths?"
"No thank you, I believe you should focus on keeping our students safe. I'll keep an eye out myself." Ozpin replied.
Glynda nodded, leaving the headmaster to his own devices. Ozpin decided to review the footage from the forest from before. The red blur on screen, he wasn't sure what it was, but he got the feeling that he should keep an eye out for it.
/
General Ironwood, along with many of his men, were in the main room of the airship they were in, looking at monitors displaying live footage of the forest. Each monitor displayed the pov of one Atlesian Knight, this machines were deployed ahead of time as to find what could be lurking in the forest.
"Have you found anything?" Ironwood asked his men.
"No sir, so far there is nothing in the forest." One of the men answered.
"I see, have the Knights continue forward." The general commanded.
"Yes sir."
The screens continue to show the live footage of the machines, a total of ten Atlesian Knights searching the forest. So far, everything was quiet, too quiet. The silence was something that Ironwood noticed, by now the machines should have encountered a few Grimm, usually the forest was full of them.
"Any Grimm activity?" Ironwood asked.
"No sir, reports indicate low grimm activity. If anything it seems that there aren't as many Grimm roaming the forest like before."
"I see, carry on." Ironwood says, he thought about why this could be. The grimm were relentless, no matter how many were slain, more would arrive. So the news of Grimm population and activity being low was odd. "Something is very wrong here, but what?"
/
Meanwhile in the forest, the machine soldiers continued to patrol the area, looking for any signs of strange activity. So far the scanners picked up nothing.
As the machines continued to roam the area, one of the robots looked towards a clearing in the forest. It then spotted a trio of Beowolfs sniffing for any humans or faunus to attack. The machine continued to monitor the wolfs, preparing to enter attack mode.
But at that moment, something fast immediately rushed in and cut the wolfs in half, killing them. The unknown entity had moved too fast for the machine to get a good look at it, and had hid back into the darkness of the forest.
/
"Sir! Something just killed some Beowolfs and retreated before we could get a good look!"
"I'm aware, have every single knight enter attack mode now!" Ironwood demanded.
His men complied as the machines were set to neutralize the new threat.
"What in the god's name was that? It was way too fast to catch on video. Whatever it was, the knights should be able to handle it."
/
The machines get themselves ready to attack the new threat that was found. Each machine drawing out guns, and aimed the weapons at anything that would move.
A few moments pass by, the machines stayed on attack mode, but so far they haven't found the entity. Unfortunately for them, it had found them. In an instant, one of the machines was grabbed by a pair of large red, clawed hands with four fingers on each hand, and dragged into the darkness.
The other machines turned around to see that the first one went missing. And then, the severed head of the machine began rolling towards the closet Knight, with wires coming out of the neck and the visor severely damaged.
/
On the other side, everyone could only watch as unnatural looking hands grabbed the machine from behind, preventing them to see what it was, and the feed from the machine being cut off.
"Holy crap! Sir di-"
"I did soldier, just try and find what that thing was!"
The men complied, everyone kept their composure. One sneak attack wouldn't be enough to take the most advanced tech invented down. Merely luck is what everyone believed.
"Alright, our turn."
/
The rest began firing into the direction of where the head rolled from. Each shot filled with extremely deadly rounds of dust, flying through the darkness of the forest.
Unfortunately they hit nothing as red tendrils from above snatched two more Knights, dragging them up. In a matter of seconds, the remains of the knights fell down towards the floor of the forest, each one cut into pieces of useless scrap.
The machines then began aiming upward once the broken pieces were noticed. The only thing that could be seen was a slight blur, moving around the trees, hidden by the shadows.
The entity then shot out a red substance, hitting two more Knights and dragging into the darkness. These knights were them ripped to pieces as well, leaving only five Knights to do the job.
The Atlesian Knights continued to fire in the direction the speedy entity went. But they continued to miss every shot, it was as if this thing knew where they were going to fire next.
Suddenly, a tree was cut down, falling on top on of the Knights, destroying it. The Knights then switched to more explosive rounds, and fired each it's more spreadly.
"RAAAAAAAGH!"
Some of the shots seemed to hit the entity as it screamed out in pain. However this seemed to only anger it as red spikes were shot out hitting two Knights.
The Knights fall to the floor due to many spikes being impaled throughout the body, rendering them useless.
The last two Knights continued to fire, attempting to kill the mysterious entity. Just then, one of them was tackled into the darkness, pieces of it being sent flying back into the opening in front of the last remaining Knight.
The last Knight then tried to switch to a sword, and charged in. But unfortunately, it two was tackled. The last thing seen on its recording was the red insides of a mouth, filled with sharp teeth. Then, nothing, as the machine's head was ripped off, and the rest of its body teared to shreds.
The only thing that could be heard from the forest, was the loud screeching of something large. Screaming in victory from it's successful hunt.
"SCREEEEEEEEEE"
/
Ironwood and his men watched everything that had happened. They couldn't see what had attacked the machines with such ease, whatever it was looked liked a red blur on screen.
"S-Sir.. what sho-"
"Review any footage from this encounter, find out what that was now!"
"Yes sir!"
Ironwood's men frantically looked through the footage for any clues as to what just happened. Meanwhile Ironwood stood there, a combination of paranoia and anger. Something just took those Knights out like they were nothing.
"Impossible, the mostly highly advanced tech at our disposal and someone cut them down with ease. No, it can't be just some person, something else is at play, but what?"
Just then, one of his men called out to him, "Sir, I believe I found something."
"What did you find private?"
"One of the Knights was able to capture something, but only for a breed second." The private said, displaying the footage.
The private rewound the footage, he then pressed play, the footage displayed the Knight shooting into the shadows of the forest. Then, the private paused at the exact moment before it went the knight went offline.
Everyone looked at what appeared to be the mouth of some terrifying creature. A red oozing substance with a mouth full of sharp teeth and a long tong. Most of the picture was the inside of said creature's mouth. Red was all that could be seen, whatever this thing was, it didn't look natural in any way.
"What is that thing?"
"Sir, what should we do?"
"Have the next batch of Atlesian Knights upgrade at once, and send a team to recover the scrap from those Knights without getting caught by that thing. And none of what just happened leaves this room, got it?" Ironwood commanded.
"Yes, sir!"
Ironwood watched as his men scrambled to do each task. He then looked backed at the monitor, the paused screen continuing to display the image in front him.
"What is that thing? Did she create it? Is Ozpin even aware of this creature's existence? I should confront him about this later when I arrive in Vale."
Ironwood left the room and went to see if there was anything else he should do before calling it a day. As he walked away, his scroll went of, giving him an notification.
Looking at it, he saw more news related to the web-head's activity of vigilantism in Vale. He grunted in disapproval, Spider-Man was someone he viewed as a menace for taking the law into his own hands. The arachnid never stayed around to take accountability for the mess he tends to leave behind. At first, Ironwood assumed he was connected to the White Fang, however that was disproven wend he interrogated a few members. They called the arachnid a traitor for protecting humanity.
This only got the general more curious about him, he had just suddenly appeared one day, there seemed to be no record of any previous info on any vigilantes. The general was suspicious about him, but there was a possibility that he could be able to capture and convince the web-head to work for him. If there was one thing Ironwood would compliment the arachnid on was how much the crime rate was reduced by him. He was extremely effective in catching criminals, yes, maybe they might be able to use him with whatever they encountered in the forest as well.
"I'll be meeting you soon Spider-Man, if you prove to be a problem then I won't hesitate to deal with you myself."
/
Useless, these things had no nutrients to steal from, nothing but pure metal. What a waste of time, and energy. The red lifeform went on it's way, looking for some other edible prey to eat. It tried to eat the dark creatures multiple times, but every time one was slain, it would turn to dust, leaving nothing behind. While it was a water of time to kill them, it did bring a form of satisfaction to do so. Besides, those things would try and hunt it and make it the prey, so the lifeform had to show them who was the predator here.
The creature continued to head deeper in the forest, away from the city. There were too many people there, and it could get caught and overwhelmed over time from the sheer amount of people. No, it wasn't strong enough for that yet. It needed a new hunting ground for food.
After a few hours, the red alien spotted a village in the distance. It was small enough to destroy, but not too small so there's enough prey to hunt. Yes, this place would do nicely.
The alien lifeform quickly ran towards the lone village, ready to consume everyone. Once it has come close, it started to use the shadows of a small house to hide, getting ready to ambush anyone close enough.
Just then, a lone person came out on his own. The person seemed to grumble as he walked on his own. The man was starting to get real close, unaware of the danger ahead of him.
Taking advantage of the man's ignorance, the lifeform snatched the man up with red tendrils dragging him into the darkness. The man screamed in fear, unaware of what had caught him. But the screaming didn't last long as his voice was cut off by the sound of blood being spilled from his throat.
The alien quickly consumed the man, leaving a bloody mess of disemboweled of a corpse on the floor, the head being bitten off.
Suddenly, the creature heard murmurs of people coming from around the corner. It then quickly climbed up the side of the building, and hid on the roof. It observed the small group of people coming to check on the screaming they heard.
It watched as the people had many different reactions. Disgust, fear, anger, and sorrow, these emotions would only made them taste even more delicious. In one fell swoop, the alien envelope around half of the people in it's biomass, consuming them in an instant.
The other prey began running, screaming for help from the alien. But it was for naught as the red ooze quickly caught every single one of them. Ripping them to pieces and consuming their insides and their heads.
Soon, more people arrived, ready to try and fight it and defend their home. But their efforts were for nothing, as each person was quickly killed and eaten. More would are in attempt to take it out, but all they did was offer themselves as more morsels to consume. And soon, the village was left defenseless, leaving the civilians all alone with the creature.
The people tried to run, his, or fight, filled with adrenaline, just making themselves filled with more nutrition. One by one, everyone was killed, nothing would be left behind. Men, women, children, no one was spared. They only thing left in it's wake was mass destruction and chaos.
The hunt was victorious, it had eaten these people, and left the village in terrible shape. Many bodies left cut into pieces and headless, house and other buildings cut down, nothing but rubble.
There were no survivors.
The alien lifeform screeched, victorious once more, letting anything that could hear it know about what it had done.
Any Grimm that hadn't been killed yet can hear this. While some would rush towards the noise, the much older ones would flee, they were wise enough to know that whatever made that noise would just kill them.
The night ended with the creature killing more of these creatures of the darkness. These things were very annoying, but fun to destroy. But in the end, it was still a waste of time.
After all, there were still more villages out there to consume.
/
Days later, Ozpin was in his office, he was reading article of an entire village many miles away from Vale that had fallen. Reports indicated that the residents had all been killed in such gruesome manners,.
There were no survivors to tell the tale of how the village had died, so many assumed it was a Grimm attack. The public believed this, it seemed like something the Grimm would do. But Ozpin knew better.
Classified information relayed information on how the way each person died, just like the four Huntsmen he read about before, organs were missing along with the head. These people had been feed upon, and the Grimm usually don't eat what they kill, they don't need to after all. And yet everyone single person has been eaten.
Ozpin continue to go over all this information, until an elevator opened up, revealing General Ironwood.
"Hello James, I see you finally arrived." Ozpin greeted.
"Hello Ozpin, I'm glad to see you are doing well." Ironwood replied. "As much as I would like to have coffee with you old friend, I believe there is something we both need to discuss."
"And I'm assuming this has to do with the fall of an entire village?" Ozpin asked.
"Yes, I believe you've read the classified information I have sent you?" Ironwood asked.
"I have, I've been studying the information for a while now. And the similarities of the casualties between the people of the village and those huntsmen were very similar." Ozpin began, "Is there anything else you need to show me?"
"Yes, I believed it was best of I personally delivered this video from one of my Knights captured a couple of days ago, which I believed happened before the fall of the village." Ironwood said as he passed a scroll to Ozpin.
Ozpin turned on the scroll and played the video that was saved on it. The video displayed what happened that night, revealing to Ozpin the split moment of the video catching something in it's view.
Looking at the unnatural sight, Ozpin asked, "Have you determined what this could be?"
"No, so far I haven't found any records of what that thing could be, the only thing caught on footage is the inside of it's mouth. What we do know is when the Knights were recovered, they were cut apart similar to those people. Only the heads were still there lying around, covered in bite marks." Ironwood replied. "We can confirm that this thing could be causing this disturbing deaths, maybe even the ones in Vale."
"If that is the case, then why how did it get inside the city, and why didn't it stay here?" Ozpin asked.
"I'm not sure, the only thing I can guess is that this could be one of her attempts to create something destructive." Ironwood guessed. "We need to do something before things get out of hand."
"While I'm not sure if she has anything to do with this, I do agree we have to take action. But we need to find more information on this creature, if we are not careful then the situation may only get worse." Ozpin warned. "We need to discuss this further."
"There is nothing to discuss! That thing is causing so much death and chaos, and I'm not sure if can keep this from the public forever!" Ironwood countered, "I will have a meeting with the council about our next course of action. I believe they will agree we must do something now."
"I'm just suggesting we find any more information before taking action. It's better we get prepared to deal with this threat." Ozpin replied.
"We are, as we speak I have my men do as much as possible to upgrade the Knights, when they are done they should be able to get rid of this threat once and for all." Ironwood says as he began to leave. But before he left he turned towards Ozpin and asked, "By the way, do you have any information on Vale's vigilante?"
"No." Ozpin lied, "Why do you ask?"
"He is a criminal taking the law into his own hands, but I believe if I can get to him I might be able to get him to cooperate with law. He may be of use to us." Ironwood answered. "Goodbye Ozpin, I'll see you on another day."
As Ironwood went to elevators, the door opens to reveal Glynda coming in.
"Glynda."
"James."
The both of them greeted before Ironwood entered the elevator and left.
Glynda then approached Ozpin and said, "I see you and James had a brief conversation."
"That is correct Glynda, James had come bye to show me something he found." Ozpin said as he gave her the scroll Ironwood gave him.
Glynda herself reviewed the footage, and she could only be shocked at what she saw.
"Ozpin….this creature's mouth looks exactly like."
"Like the alien that alien we have hiding here. But there are differences, the teeth don't appear white, to be frank you can see nothing but red." Ozpin says.
"But you can't deny that they look so similar. Do you think that alien is causing these deaths?" Glynda asked.
"I am confident to say no, the audio can lick up more animalistic screeches, the alien and that creature sound extremely different. Besides, these events happened before the fall of the village east of Vale. And during that time the alien was here with us." Ozpin explained. "It isn't possible for it to be two places at once."
"Then what is it? Could it be another one of those things? A Klyntar as the creature explained." Glynda guessed
"I'm not sure, from what we know Peter and the alien are the only ones that arrived here. We saw the footage from that day remember? So it could be something else." Ozpin began. "Bit until we can confirm what that thing is, we can only keep an eye out for more activity, and find a way to get rid of this threat."
"I see…should we warm Peter?"
"I believe it's best for us to keep this away from him, even with the alien protecting him, it's best he stays in Vale for his own safety." Ozpin replied. "Besides, James will be looking for Spider-Man so he might be busy keeping out sight."
"Of course, please don't tell me he plans to recruit him like a soldier to command." Glynda groaned.
"I believe you know the answer to that, besides if James finds him he will either force him to follow the law or be detained. So I ask you tell him to stay hidden for the time being, although the alien might already have told him by now so you may not have to tell him " Ozpin instructed.
"I'm still going to talk to him about this, the last thing I want is for James to drag a child into this situation. And if Mr. Parker refuses I won't hesitate to trap him in a Bible like I did the night we met him." Glynda says as she leaves to talk to the arachnid. "I don't want to see another child meet a gruesome fate."
"Neither do I, and most likely the alien. If you can talk to Parker in private then the alien might be able to convince him to keep a low profile. Maybe Peter could spend some time resting, the god's know how very little he sleeps." Ozpin told her.
"I believe his team will make sure of that. Goodbye Ozpin." Glynda says as she left.
Ozpin say there, and sighed. What he kept hidden from both Glynda and Ironwood was a clear picture of what caused all this death and destruction. And what was on that picture was something out of a nightmare.
