Getting Ronnie Anne Started
One week has passed since Ronnie Anne arrived in the Paldea Region and started attending Naranja Academy. Lincoln, along with his sisters and friends, helped her learn the basics of Pokemon after classes were done to help her get caught up.
She was a very quick learner, and was easily able to close the gap between her and the others, in terms of knowledge; but they still had more experience than she did, but that could be solved easily. Ronnie Anne also received pokedollars from Director Clavell after he exchanged the one hundred dollar bill Ronnie Anne gave him for them.
Also during that time, Lincoln trained up the Eevee he caught in a Tera Den until she evolved into a Sylveon; he sent it over to Lola who was excited to have her.
Lola also got the pearls, including the big one, that Lincoln got in the Tera Den he found the Eevee in, which made her extremely happy.
Lincoln also swapped his Okidogi for his Finizen, and also added his new Dratini to his team.
In Royal Woods, at the mall; Reininger's was beginning to sell a new fragrance that was becoming very popular with young ladies called 'Essence of Lilligant'.
Right now, everyone was in the school cafeteria, having lunch together, with Nemona and Ronnie Anne each sitting next to Lincoln, Leni sitting next to Arven, and Penny sitting next to Clyde.
"Hey, Lincoln?" Ronnie Anne said to the white-haired Loud.
"Yeah, what's up?" Lincoln replied.
"I want to begin training up my Fuecoco." said Ronnie Anne. "Do you know a good spot for trainers who are just starting out?"
"There's a spot south of Mesagoza called Poco Path." said Lincoln. "Nemona showed it to me when I was beginning to train my Sprigatito and Pawmi."
"Can you show me where it is exactly?" asked Ronnie Anne. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone, brings up a map, puts a pin on the spot where Poco Path is, and sends it over to Ronnie Anne's device.
"When do you want to head over there?" asked Lana.
"After we eat." said Ronnie Anne. "Can't train Pokemon on an empty stomach."
"I hear that." said Lynn as she took a bite of some fruit.
"How about we stop by Delibird Presents and get a Charcoal for Fuecoco to make his fire attacks a bit stronger?" suggested Lincoln.
"You should also get a Muscle Band for your Hawlucha; they make the physical attacks of the Pokemon holding one stronger." said Lynn.
"That sounds like a good idea." said Ronnie Anne. After everyone finished eating, they walked out of the cafeteria; moments later, they were outside Naranja Academy. After walking down the stairs, the group walked to Delibird Presents. Ronnie Anne buys a Charcoal for her Fuecoco; she also buys a Muscle Band for her Hawlucha. After leaving Delibird Presents, Ronnie Anne lets Hawlucha and Fuecoco out of their pokeballs. She gives the Muscle Band to Hawlucha and the Charcoal to her Fuecoco; she returns her Pokemon to their pokeballs and the group soon were outside Mesagoza.
"Ready, Ronnie Anne?" asked Lincoln.
"You bet." replied Ronnie Anne. She puts a hand over her eyes and begins looking around until she saw a bipedal, yellow, platypus-like Pokemon with three strands of black hair on its head. "What's that?" She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Psyduck, the Duck Pokemon. It is constantly wracked by a headache. When the headache turns intense, it begins using mysterious powers." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"Says here Psyduck's a water type; if I remember correctly, electric type attacks are strong against them." said Ronnie Anne.
"Correct, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln; Ronnie Anne takes out a pokeball.
"Go, Shinx!" said Ronnie Anne, throwing Shinx's pokeball and releasing him; Psyduck sees Shinx and goes into a battle stance. "Okay, Shinx, use Charge!" Spark surrounds Shinx's body and his special defense increases. Psyduck releases a stream of water from its mouth and it hits Shinx, but not dealing much damage due to his special defense being increased.
"Shinx, use Thunder Shock!" said Ronnie Anne. Shinx releases a small burst of electricity from his body and it hits Psyduck, dealing super effective damage; Psyduck begins to twitch.
"Looks like Psyduck's paralyzed." said Lincoln. Psyduck fights through its paralysis and charges at Shinx; it scratches Shinx, dealing damage.
"Shinx, use Tackle!" said Ronnie Anne. Shinx charges at Psyduck and rams her, not dealing much damage, but knocking Psyduck to the ground. "Huh; that Tackle didn't look like it did much."
"Must be a female Psyduck." said Lincoln.
"I think Psyduck's weak enough for you to capture now." said Clyde. Ronnie Anne nods before taking out an empty pokeball and throws it at Psyduck, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled until it clicked. Ronnie Anne walks to Psyduck's pokeball and picks it up.
"Yeah! I caught a Psyduck!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Good job, Ronnie Anne." said Leni. Ronnie Anne takes out her Rotom Phone and uses it to look up Psyduck's information.
"Looks like you're right about Psyduck being a girl, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. "She knows Scratch, Tail Whip, and Water Gun; she has the Cloud Nine ability which negates weather effects."
"So, if it's raining, the power of water type attacks will not increase." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne returns Shinx to his pokeball; she looks up Poco Path on her map. She holds her Rotom Phone with one hand and grabs Lincoln's hand with the other, making Nemona frown.
"Let's get going, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. She begins running down the direction to Poco Path while pulling Lincoln, while the others run after them. Moments later, they arrived at Poco Path; Lincoln was breathing heavily.
"I'm sure Ms. Dendra will be glad I went for a long run for my cardio." said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne takes out Fuecoco and Psyduck's pokeballs and tosses them, releasing Fuecoco and Psyduck. Lincoln sees that Psyduck looked battered from her battle with Shinx. "Hold it, Ronnie Anne; let me use a Potion on Psyduck first."
"Good idea, Linc; can't train her in this condition if I'm going to take on the gyms here." said Ronnie Anne.
"You're going to challenge the gyms too?" asked Lincoln.
"Sure." said Ronnie Anne.
"Hey; I should take on the gyms too; that Gym Test in Cortondo looked like my kind of test." said Lynn. After Lincoln sprays Psyduck with the Potion, he reaches into his backpack and pulls out a round red berry.
"What's that?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"A Cheri Berry; it cures the paralysis of the Pokemon that eats it." said Lincoln. He gives it to Psyduck; she eats it and cures her paralysis.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne.
Ronnie Anne spent an hour training her Fuecoco and her Psyduck. Soon, her Fuecoco learned Round and Bite and her Psyduck learned Confusion and Fury Swipes.
Later, in South Province Area One, the group were having dinner, courtesy of Arven. Lincoln was sitting on a log with Ronnie Anne sitting on one side of him and Nemona sitting on other, Clyde and Penny were sitting on a large rock together, Leni and Arven were sitting on another log together, Lucy was sitting under a tree, and Lynn and Lana were sitting on the ground.
"These sandwiches are, totes, amazing, Arven." said Leni before biting into her sandwich.
"Thanks, Leni." said Arven.
"You're doing good in training your Pokemon, Ronnie Anne." Lincoln says to Ronnie Anne.
"Thanks, Linc." replied Ronnie Anne. "You think you can help me find one of those Tera Dens?" Lincoln looks around until he saw a Tera Den on a trail going upward.
"There's one up there." said Lincoln, pointing at the Tera Den.
"I'll go there after we finish eating." said Ronnie Anne. Minutes later, after the group finished eating; they began putting on their backpacks.
"Hey, new girl!" the group hears a girl's voice all out. The group looks to see a girl with dark skin, black hair tied in pigtails, wearing a Naranja Academy uniform walking to the group.
"You talking to me?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Yeah; want to have a Pokemon Battle with me?" asked the girl.
"A battle? Sure!" replied Ronnie Anne. Moments later, Ronnie Anne and the girl were standing several yards from each other while the rest of the group watched.
"How many Pokemon are we using?" asked the girl.
"It's my very first battle, so, one will do." replied Ronnie Anne. The girl nods before she and Ronnie Anne each pull out a pokeball.
"Sunkern, go!" said the girl, throwing a pokeball and releasing a yellow, seed-like Pokemon with brown lines on it, and a green stem on top of it. Ronnie Anne takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Sunkern, the Seed Pokemon. It suddenly falls out of the sky in the morning. Knowing it's weak, it simply feeds until it evolves." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"Go, Fuecoco!" said Ronnie Anne, throwing Fuecoco's pokeball and releasing him. Sunkern begins surging with energy.
"What's going on with Sunkern?" asked Lana.
"My Sunkern has the Solar Power ability; it powers up her special attack strength when it's really sunny out." replied Sunkern's trainer; she looks up towards the sun. "And today, the sun is really bright."
"Well, the bright sun will also power up Fuecoco's fire type moves." said Ronnie Anne.
"Sunkern, use Tackle!" said Sunkern's trainer. Sunkern leaps at Fuecoco and rams him, dealing damage, and knocking him back.
"Fuecoco, use Ember!" said Ronnie Anne. Fuecoco releases embers from his mouth and they hit Sunkern, dealing super effective damage; Sunkern suddenly slumps and begins breathing heavily. "What's wrong with Sunkern?"
"The downside to Solar Power is that it drains some of the energy of the Pokemon with the ability; but I'll fix that." said Sunkern's trainer. "Sunkern, Mega Drain!" Sunkern releases a dark green beam of energy from her stem and it grabs Fuecoco, draining some of his energy and healing some of Sunkern's wounds.
"Fuecoco, use Bite!" said Ronnie Anne. Fuecoco runs at Sunkern and bites her, dealing damage, and making Sunkern flinch; Sunkern loses more energy from Solar Power. "Tackle, Fuecoco!" Fuecoco charges at Sunkern and rams her, knocking her to the ground with swirly eyes. "All right, Fuecoco!"
"Way to go, Ronnie Anne!" said Lincoln.
"That was amazing." said Clyde.
"I'll say." said Lynn. Sunkern's trainer returns Sunkern to her pokeball.
"Don't worry, Sunkern; we'll try to win a Sun Stone at the auction in Porto Marinada so you can evolve." said Sunkern's trainer. She puts Sunkern's pokeball away and walks to Ronnie Anne. "That was a good battle." Ronnie Anne nods in response. Sunkern's trainer gives Ronnie Anne pokedollars and walks away.
"How did it feel to win your first battle, Ronnie Anne?" asked Lincoln as he and the rest of the group walked to Ronnie Anne.
"It felt so good." replied Ronnie Anne. She returns Fuecoco to his pokeball and the group begins walking towards the Tera Den. After reaching it, Ronnie Anne goes into it while pulling Lincoln in with her, much to Nemona's displeasure. Once inside, they see a crystallized, plantlike Pokemon with crystal flowers on top of it. Ronnie Anne takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Fomantis, the Sickle Grass Pokemon. Fomantis hates having its naps interrupted. It fires off beams using energy it gathers by bathing in the sun." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"Judging by the flowers on top of it, its Tera Form's a grass type." said Lincoln.
"Care to join me in battling it?" asked Ronnie Anne, pulling out a pokeball.
"Sure." said Lincoln, pulling out a pokeball. "Armarouge, go!" He throws Armarouge's pokeball and releases him.
"Fuecoco, go!" said Ronnie Anne, throwing Fuecoco's pokeball and releasing him. Fuecoco, use Ember!" Fuecoco releases embers from his mouth and they hit Fomantis, dealing super effective damage. Fomantis releases glowing green leaves from its body and they hit Fuecoco, but not dealing much damage.
"Armarouge, use Flame Charge!" said Lincoln. Armarouge charges at Fomantis while fire surrounds his body and rams Fomantis, dealing super effective damage; its Tera Form shatters and it begins stumbling around.
"Catch it!" said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne nods before pulling out an empty pokeball and throws it at Fomantis; it crystallizes on the way and it hits Fomantis, hitting it and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times until the crystal layer breaks off and the pokeball clicks.
"Woot woot; I caught a Fomantis." said Ronnie Anne.
"Way to go." said Lincoln. The Tera Den vanishes and Lincoln and Ronnie Anne find themselves back in South Province Area One with the rest of the group waiting nearby. Ronnie Anne sees several berries and four small pearls nearby. "Those pearls are worth two thousand pokedollars each, Ronnie Anne."
"Cool." replied Ronnie Anne. She gathers the berries and pearls; she then looks up Fomantis' information on her Rotom Phone. "This says my Fomantis is a girl, she knows Leafage, Fury Cutter, Growth, Magical Leaf, and Ingrain; she has the Leaf Guard ability which prevents her from being afflicted by status conditons during really sunny days."
Moments later, at a Pokemon Center in Mesagoza, a nurse was giving Ronnie Anne her pokeballs.
"Your Pokemon are fully healed." said the nurse.
"Thank you." replied Ronnie Anne. She also took the time to sell the pearls she found. After that, she went back to Delibird Presents and bought a Mystic Water for her Psyduck and a Miracle Seed for her Fomantis; The group then begins walking back to Naranja Academy.
Soon, night came and Ronnie Anne was lying on her bed in her dorm room, talking to her family on her Rotom Phone.
"Sounds like you've had quite the day, Ronnie Anne." said Maria.
"I sure did." replied Ronnie Anne.
"You think you can find a Pokemon for me, Ronnie Anne; I would like to have one myself." said Maria.
"As soon as I find one I'm sure you'll like." replied Ronnie Anne.
"So, what are you going to do now, Nie-Nie?" asked Bobby.
"Okay, one, stop calling me Nie-Nie, and two, I want to challenge the gyms in Paldea so I can compete in the Paldea League like Lincoln is trying to." said Ronnie Anne.
"Good luck with that." said Bobby, making Ronnie Anne frown.
"Let's not use that L-word; I don't like it myself." said Ronnie Anne. "It's because of that dumb superstition stuff that I had to be without Lincoln for a while."
"You really missed Lincoln, huh?" asked Bobby with a smirk.
"Hey, we're just friends!" said Ronnie Anne, blushing.
"Anyway, be sure to pay attention during your classes in Naranja Academy, Ronnie Anne." said Maria.
"I will, Mom." replied Ronnie Anne. She then ends the call, puts her Rotom Phone away, and goes to sleep.
Ronnie Anne's Pokemon trainer days are just getting started. What awaits her, and her friends, as their Paldea adventures continue?
