Lynn and Ronnie Anne vs Katy
Lincoln and his sisters and friends have entered Cortondo where Lynn and Ronnie Anne plan to challenge Katy for their first gym badges.
"Can't wait to take on Katy." said Ronnie Anne.
"Me too." said Lynn.
"Maybe we can have more of Katy's cupcakes." said Lana.
"They were, totes, amazing." said Leni; she turned towards Arven. "But you're still an amazing cook, Arven."
"Don't worry; I think Katy's an excellent baker myself." said Arven.
"So, Lincoln; where do we go for the Gym Test?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Well, you got to register at that building over there." replied Lincoln as he points at the Pokemon League building.
"Let's go then." said Ronnie Anne before she grabs Lincoln's hand and pulls him towards their destination while Nemona glares at her before the rest of the group follows after them.
They soon reach the Pokemon League building and enter the lobby where Lynn and Ronnie Anne go to the front desk where a receptionist notices them approaching.
"How may I help you two?" the receptionist asked the two girls.
"We're here to challenge Katy to a gym battle!" said Lynn.
"Very well." said the receptionist. She then asks Lynn and Ronnie Anne for their information so she can put it into her computer; once that was done, she tells them about the Olive Roll Gym Test and where it's located.
"Thanks." said Ronnie Anne.
"Let's call our families so they can all watch." said Clyde as he takes out his Rotom Phone, prompting Lincoln and Ronnie Anne to do the same thing.
"Hi, kids." said Lynn Sr.
"Hello, Clyde sweetie." said Harold McBride.
"What are you all up to?" asked Maria Santiago.
"Lynn and Ronnie Anne are going to try the Cortondo Gym Test." said Lincoln.
"So those two are going for the Paldea League?" asked Lori.
"I'll do any competition." said Lynn Jr.
"We know, sweetie." said Rita Loud.
"So who's going to do it first?" asked Nemona.
"I will." said Lynn. She and everyone else go to where the Gym Test is and the staff member near the entrance to the course explains to her what she had to do; once that was done, Lynn walks up to the top of a ramp where the large, olive-shaped, ball she had to push to the end of the maze and gets started.
"You can do it, Lynn!" said Lincoln.
Everyone there, and in Royal Woods, watch as Lynn tries maneuvering the olive-shaped ball through the maze, which wasn't easy because she didn't have much experience handling a ball like it; but she was able to get the hang of it soon and managed to make her way to the end of the maze where she pushes it into a large red basket.
"She did it!" said Luna as fireworks shot up from the sides of the basket goal which indicated that Lynn passed her Gym Test.
"We knew she could do it." said Lola.
"Yeah!" cheered Lynn. "Lynner, Lynner, chicken dinner!"
"Congratulations on completing the Olive Roll." said a staff official who was overseeing Lynn's Gym Test. "Please return to the Pokemon League building and report your success to the lobby receptionist."
"You got it." said Lynn.
"Can I do my Gym Test now?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Of course." said the staff member. "Just let us get the ball back on the ramp and you can begin."
"Awesome." said Ronnie Anne.
"We'll see you shortly." said Lincoln before Nemona hooks her arms around one of Lincoln's, making the white-haired boy blush, and Ronnie Anne glare at her with her fists clenched; and starts pulling him towards the Pokemon League building with the others following after them.
"Don't let that Nemona girl take your boy, Ronalda." said Maria.
"H-He's not my boy!" Ronnie Anne stuttered with a blush on her face, making her mother and Bobby chuckle.
Back with the rest of the group, Lynn just reported her success to the staff official in the Pokemon League building's lobby.
"Congratulations, Lynn Jr." said the receptionist. "Are you ready to take on Katy; the Cortondo gym leader?"
"Oh, yeah!" Lynn replied.
"Very well." said the receptionist. "Report to the battlefield for your gym battle."
"I can show you where it is." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, bro." said Lynn. Everyone exits the Pokemon League building and go across the street in front of it to the large tree that the battlefield was at the top of; but not before Lana pressed her face against the Patisserie Soapberry's cupcake display case as she drooled at the sight of the delicious baked goods inside it.
Soon, Lynn was standing on one side of the battle arena while her family and friends all watched from the sidelines and in Royal Woods; on the other side was Katy.
"It's good to see you again, Lincoln and Clyde." Katy says to the white-haired boy and his best friend.
"Good to see you also." Lincoln replied. Katy then looks towards Lynn while pulling a pokeball off her waist.
"Are you ready, young lady?" Katy asked Lynn.
"I'm always ready." said Lynn.
"Then let us begin." Katy said as a staff official step to the center of the battle arena.
"This is an official gym battle between the gym leader, Katy; and the challenger, Lynn Loud Jr." said the staff official. "Both trainers will use three Pokemon; whichever trainer is able to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin."
"I've seen your battle against Lincoln a while back." said Lynn. "So, I know what Pokemon you have with you."
"Do you?" Katy replied as she tosses her pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that kind of looked like Nymble, but it stood its two back legs, it was bigger, parts of its body were black, as well as a dark grayish blue, its eyes were orange and sharper, with small matching blades on its forearms, wings, and upper thighs.
"What is that?" asked Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at Katy's Pokemon.
"Lokix, the Grasshopper Pokemon, and the evolved form of Nymble. When it decides to fight all out, it stands on its previously folded legs to enter Showdown Mode. It neutralizes its enemies in short order." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"When did Katy's Nymble evolve?" asked Clyde.
"I've been training my Pokemon since my battle with your friend, young man." Katy replied.
"Don't think throwing a curve ball like that will get me off my game, lady!" said Lynn as she takes a pokeball off her waist and throws it like a baseball, releasing her Zangoose.
"Lokix, use Lunge!" said Katy. Her Lokix propels itself at great speed and slams into Zangoose, making her stumble back while putting her hand over the spot that got hit; she also looked winded.
"What's wrong, Zangoose?" Lynn asked her Pokemon.
"Lunge can weaken its target's attack power." said Katy.
"Don't take that from some bug, Zangoose!" said Lynn. "Use Crush Claw!" Her Zangoose's claws were covered in a blue aura as she lunges at Lokix and slashes it across its abdomen, dealing damage; it slumps a bit.
"Looks like Crush Claw weakened its defense." said Clyde.
"Sweet." said Lynn.
"Lokix, use Double Kick!" said Katy. Her Lokix leaps at Zangoose and lands two strong kicks to her, dealing super effective damage.
"Zangoose, use Slash!" said Lynn. Her Zangoose runs at Lokix and slashes its abdomen again, knocking it onto its back; it slowly gets up.
"That looked like it hurt." said Clyde.
"Slash does have a good chance of getting a critical hit." said Lincoln.
"Lokix, use Screech!" said Katy. Her Lokix releases a high-pitched shriek that goes through Zangoose's body, weakening her defense.
"Zangoose, use Slash again!" said Lynn. Her Zangoose lunges at Lokix again with its arm ready to swing at her opponent.
"Lokix, use Endure!" said Katy. Her Lokix braces itself as Zangoose slashes it, knocking it back, but it still stayed on its feet. "Finish this with another Double Kick!" Her Lokix lunges at Zangoose and lands two more solid kicks to her, dealing enough super effective damage to knock her out.
"No way!" said Lynn.
"Zangoose is unable to battle. Lokix is the winner." said the official.
"Excellent work, Lokix." said Katy as her Pokemon hopped up and down with joy.
"That's one tough bug." said Lana.
"I don't know if I would've stood a chance against Lokix if I battled it during my gym battle here." said Lincoln. Lynn returns her Zangoose to her pokeball.
"Take a breather, buddy." said Lynn. She puts Zangoose's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Voltorb. "Okay, Voltorb, use Rollout!" Her Voltorb rolls in place with great speed before it rockets towards Lokix and slams into it with great force, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Lokix is unable to battle. Voltorb is the winner." said the official.
"Yeah!" said Lynn.
"Way to go, Lynn!" said Lincoln.
"Keep it up, dudette!" said Luna.
"You can do it, sweetie!" said Lynn Sr. Katy returns her Lokix to its pokeball.
"Rest up, sweetie." said Katy. She puts Lokix's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing a Spidops.
"SPIDER!" Leni screamed as she clung to Arven, making him blush, along with Leni when she realizes what she was doing. Voltorb suddenly rolls towards the Spidops and slams into it with greater force, doing super effective damage.
"Rollout will keep going for a while, but its power doubles with each pass." said Lincoln.
"I'm cool with that." said Lynn.
"Spidops, use Assurance!" said Katy. Her Spidops thrusts its upper legs into Voltorb, dealing double the damage it normally would've due to Spidops taking damage before using it; Voltorb comes around and hits Spidops again, dealing more super effective damage.
"Knock it off its feet, Voltorb; all eight of them!" said Lynn.
"Spidops, use Counter!" said Katy. An orange aura forms all over Spidops body and erupts, hitting Voltorb, dealing damage, slowing it down a bit but it still kept rolling until it hits its opponent one more time, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"One more to go!" said Lynn.
"You can do it, Junior!" said Rita.
"Hope Katy doesn't bring out another spider." said Lynn Sr who was coming out from behind the couch after Katy let Spidops out onto the field.
Back with Katy, she was returning her Spidops to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Spidops." said Katy before she puts Spidops' pokeball back on her waist; she pulls her last one off and tosses it, releasing her Teddiursa. She then reaches into her apron and pulls out a Tera Orb.
"I know what's coming up next." said Clyde. Katy lets energy flow into her Tera Orb and then tosses it over her Teddiursa, making crystal pillars cover it; they shatter, revealing Teddiursa in its Tera Form.
"Teddiursa, use Bulldoze!" said Katy. Her Teddiursa slams its paws into the floor, sending a shockwave at the incoming Voltorb, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Voltorb is unable to battle. Teddiursa is the winner." said the official.
"Don't let Katy 'bug' you, Lynn!" said Luan. "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha; get it?" Everyone else groans in response.
"I got this!" said Lynn. She returns Voltorb to its pokeball. "Take a break, Voltorb." She puts her pokeball back on her waist and pulls her last one off; she tosses it, releasing her Heracross.
"Looks like it's bug vs. technical bug." said Lincoln.
"Heracross, use Leer!" said Lynn. Heracross's eyes glowed red as he glares at Teddiursa, making it nervous, and lowering its defense.
"Hey, everyone." Ronnie Anne calls out, making everyone look to see Lincoln and Clyde's friend running over to them.
"Hey, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln.
"How did your Gym Test go?" asked Clyde.
"No sweat." said Ronnie Anne.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" cheered Maria, who was wearing a T-shirt with Ronnie Anne's face on it, from Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone. "That big ball didn't stand a chance against my little girl!" Ronnie Anne pinches the bridge of her nose with embarassment.
"Teddiursa, use Slash!" said Katy. Her Teddiursa slashes at Heracross, knocking him back a bit.
"Heracross, use Fury Attack!" said Lynn. Her Heracross unleashes a barrage of strikes to Teddiursa, dealing damage with each hit.
"Teddiursa, use Fire Punch!" said Katy. Teddiursa rears its fist back as it becomes covered in fire and it punches Heracross, dealing super effective damage; parts of Heracross's body catch on fire.
"Heracross is burned!" said Clyde. A smirk forms on Lynn's face.
"What's with Lynn?" asked Arven.
"Heracross has the Guts ability." said Lincoln as a red aura covers Heracross's body.
"Which increases his attack power if he has a status condition." said Arven as he realized why Lynn wasn't worried.
"Heracross, use Aerial Ace!" said Lynn. Heracross flies in a loop and slams into Teddiursa with great force, dealing super effective damage, and causing its Tera Form to shatter, and knocking it out.
"Teddiursa is unable to battle. Heracross is the winner. The winner of the match is the challenger, Lynn Loud Jr." said the official.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" cheered Lynn before she runs over to her Heracross and hugs him; she also uses a Burn Heal on him to cure him of his status condition.
"Way to go, Lynn!" said Lana.
"That was, totes, amazing!" said Leni.
"We need to get our hands on some Tera Orbs." said Lucy.
"I can get you all some." said Nemona.
"Sweet!" said Lynn. Katy returns her Teddiursa to its pokeball.
"You were wonderful, Teddiursa." said Katy. She puts her Pokemon's pokeball back on her waist and walks over to Lynn. "You battled well, young lady."
"You know it." said Lynn with a smirk. Katy reaches into her apron and pulls out a Bug Badge.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with the Bug Badge." said Katy as she hands Lynn her prize, along with some pokedollars.
"Yeah! I got the Bug Badge!" said Lynn. Her family and friends run over to congratulate her.
"Good job, Lynn." said Lincoln.
"You were awesome!" said Lana.
"We're so happy for you, sweetie." said Rita.
"We, literally, are." said Lori. Ronnie Anne steps up to Katy.
"I'm your next opponent." Ronnie Anne says to the Cortondo gym leader.
"I see." said Katy. "Let me get my Pokemon treated, and we'll have our gym battle."
"I'll be waiting." said Ronnie Anne.
"Show her what you can do, Nie-Nie!" said Bobby.
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!" said Maria. While Lynn and Katy go get their Pokemon treated, Ronnie Anne waits on one side of the arena while the others keep her company.
Twenty minutes later, Lynn and Katy return to the battlefield where the athletic Loud goes over to her family and friends while the gym leader goes to her side of the arena.
"Are you ready?" Katy asked Ronnie Anne.
"You bet she is!" yelled Maria from Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"Yeah, what she said." replied Ronnie Anne as she sweatdropped. An official stepped to the center of the arena.
"This is an official gym battle between the gym leader, Katy; and the challenger, Ronnie Anne Santiago." said the staff official. "Both trainers will use three Pokemon; whichever trainer is able to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." The official walks off the battlefield while Ronnie Anne and Katy each pull a pokeball from their waists.
"Go, Lokix!" said Katy, throwing Lokix's pokeball, and releasing it.
"Go, Crocalor!" said Ronnie Anne, throwing Crocalor's pokeball, and releasing him. "Okay, Crocalor, use Incinerate!" Crocalor releases a beam of fire from his mouth, and it hits Lokix, dealing more super effective damage than it normally would have due to Charcoal powering up Crocalor's fire type attacks.
"Lokix, use Assurance!" said Katy. Lokix leaps at Crocalor and rams him, dealing more damage than it normally would have due to Assurance's power doubling when Lokix was hit before using it.
"Crocalor, use Ember!" said Ronnie Anne. Crocalor releases embers from his mouth and they hit Lokix, dealing super effective damage; Lokix comes covered in fire.
"Lokix is burned." said Lincoln.
"Lokix, use Low Kick!" said Katy. Lokix leaps at Crocalor and kicks his legs, knocking him to the ground; Lokix flinches in pain from its burn and loses energy.
"Crocalor, use Tackle!" said Ronnie Anne. Crocalor leaps at Lokix and rams it, knocking it back.
"Lokix, use Double Kick!" said Katy. Lokix leaps at Crocalor and kicks him twice, knocking him to the ground; Lokix receives more damage from its burn.
"Crocalor, use Incinerate once more!" said Ronnie Anne. Crocalor releases another beam of fire from his mouth, and it hits Lokix, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Lokix is unable to battle. Crocalor wins the match." said the official.
"Way to go, Crocalor." said Ronnie Anne.
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" cheered Maria.
"That was great, sis!" said Bobby.
"You're doing great, Ronnie Anne!" said Lincoln.
"Keep it up!" said Lana. Katy returns Lokix to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Lokix." said Katy. She puts Lokix's pokeball away and pulls out another. "Spidops, go!" She throws Spidops' pokeball, and releases it. Leni lets out a scream and jumps into Arven's arms while Lynn Sr jumps behind the sofa. "Spidops, use Tackle!" Spidops leaps at Crocalor and rams him, knocking him back; he struggles to get up.
"Crocalor, use Incinerate!" said Ronnie Anne. Crocalor releases a beam of fire from his mouth, and it hits Spidops, dealing super effective damage.
"Spidops, use Assurance!" said Katy. Spidops leaps at Crocalor and strikes him with its legs, knocking Crocalor to the ground, unconscious.
"Crocalor is unable to battle. Spidops wins the match." said the official.
"NO WAY!" yelled Maria.
"Don't give up, Ronnie Anne!" said Lincoln.
"You can turn this around!" said Lynn Jr. Ronnie Anne nods before returning Crocalor to his pokeball.
"It's all right, Crocalor; I'll spend more time training you after this." said Ronnie Anne. She puts Crocalor's pokeball away and pulls another from her waist. "Hawlucha, go!" She throws Hawlucha's pokeball and releases him; he begins doing poses. "Hawlucha, use Hone Claws!" Hawlucha's talons glowed red, and a burst of orange energy surrounds him, raising his accuracy and attack strength.
"Spidops, use Tackle!" said Katy. Spidops leaps at Hawlucha and rams him, making him take a step back.
"Hawlucha, use Wing Attack!" said Ronnie Anne. Hawlucha leaps at Spidops and strikes it with one of his arm wings, dealing massive damage due to Hone Claws, as well as Hawlucha's Muscle Band powering up his attack strength; Spidops falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Spidops is unable to battle. Hawlucha wins the match." said the official.
"YEAH! GO, RONNIE ANNE!" cheered Maria.
"You're doing great, sis!" said Bobby.
"Go, Ronnie Anne!" cheered Lincoln.
"Just one more to go." said Lucy; Katy returns Spidops to its pokeball.
"You did all you could, Spidops." said Katy. She puts Spidops pokeball away; she then pulls another from her waist. "You're doing well, Ronnie Anne; but you still have one more Pokemon to defeat before you win my badge."
"Bring it on." said Ronnie Anne.
"Very well; Teddiursa, go!" said Katy throwing Teddiursa's pokeball and releasing it. She then reaches into her apron and pulls out a Tera Orb. She lets energy flow into her Tera Orb and then tosses it over her Teddiursa, making crystal pillars cover it; they shatter, revealing Teddiursa in its Tera Form. "Teddiursa, use Thunder Punch!" Teddiursa leaps at Hawlucha while electricty surrounded its paw and it punches Hawlucha with it, dealing super effective damage.
"Hawlucha, use Aerial Ace!" said Ronnie Anne. Hawlucha flies at Teddiursa while white streaks of light surround his body and he rams into Teddirusa, dealing super effective damage.
"Teddiursa, use Slash!" said Katy. Teddiursa leaps at Hawlucha and slashes him, landing a critcal hit, and knocking Hawlucha back.
"Hawlucha, use Wing Attack!" said Ronnie Anne. Hawlucha leaps at Teddiursa and strikes it with his wing arm, dealing super effective damage; Teddiursa's Tera Form shatters, and it falls on its back with swirly eyes.
"Teddiursa is unable to battle. Hawlucha wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Ronnie Anne Santiago." said the official.
"We did it!" cheered Ronnie Anne.
"YEAH! THAT'S MY GIRL!" cheered Maria.
"That was great!" said Lincoln. Ronnie Anne runs to Hawlucha and hugs him.
"You were so cool, Hawlucha." said Ronnie Anne; Hawlucha begins doing poses. Katy returns Teddiursa to its pokeball.
"I'm proud of you for trying, Teddiursa." said Katy. She puts Teddiursa's pokeball away and walks to Ronnie Anne. "You trained your Pokemon well, Ronnie Anne."
"Thanks, Katy." said Ronnie Anne. Katy reaches into her apron pocket and pulls out a Cortondo gym badge.
"For your victory here, Ronnie Anne; I present you with the Cortondo gym badge." said Katy. She gives Ronnie Anne the gym badge, along with pokedollars.
"Yes! My first gym badge!" cheered Ronnie Anne, holding up her gym badge. Lincoln, his sisters, and friends run to Ronnie Anne.
"You were great, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lame-O." said Ronnie Anne before she hugs Lincoln, making his sisters giggle, and Nemona frown.
"How about I treat you all to some cupcakes?" asked Katy, making Lana drool.
"Yeah!" said Lana.
Half an hour later, everyone was at tables on the treetop balconies, with Ronnie Anne and Nemona both sitting next to Lincoln, Leni sitting next to Arven, and Penny sitting next to Clyde; eating the cupcakes that Katy gave them.
"These are so good!" said Ronnie Anne as she bites into a cupcake.
"Yeah!" said Lana as she stuffs a whole cupcake into her mouth. As they ate, Nemona sees some frosting on Lincoln's lips and gets an idea.
"Lincoln, you got some frosting on your lips." Nemona points out to the white-haired Loud.
"Oh, thank you." said Lincoln as he reaches for a napkin, only for Nemona to turn his face towards her.
"Let me get that." said Nemona before she kisses Lincoln on the lips, making him blush, and Ronnie Anne growl before she pulls the white-haired Loud away from Nemona and holds him tight to her, making Nemona glare at her as lightning travels between the two girls' gazes, making Lincoln nervous.
Lynn and Ronnie Anne have won their first gym badges. What else waits them and the others as their Treasure Hunts continue?
