Chapter 21: Jealousy
Sam was never the jealous type especially with Jessica since he trusted her. Well that was until she met his brother Dean and that wasn't up until today. He caught them in bed the next day cuddling with clothes on but he either didn't see that or he was waiting for a confrontation.
He went to wake them but then decided against it since he wasn't allowed to be around his brother according to his girlfriend. He went downstairs into the kitchen and made himself breakfast. An hour later Jessica came down and started to kiss him but he turned his head away.
"Did you sleep with him?" he asked, scrutinizing her to see if she would tell the truth.
Jessica felt like her heart dropped. "What, no! How could you even ask me that?"
"I don't believe you! I saw you two cuddling."
"I'm helping him sleep. That is all!"
"I didn't say you could cuddle with him," Sam responded as he threw the newspaper down that he was reading. "You obviously want him and you can have him. I want the both of you out!"
"Well maybe you should have been more clearer with what I can and can't do. And first of all you can't do that. This is Bobby's house!"
Two new voices startled them. It was none other than Dean and Bobby. Dean was coming down the steps as Bobby was coming in the front door carrying grocery bags with John coming behind him with bags too.
"What's going on?" Dean asked rubbing his eyes as he came down. "I could hear your yelling all the way upstairs."
"What's with all the ruckus?" Bobby asked as he set the bags down in the doorway.
Sam completely ignored Bobby and turned to Dean. "Did you sleep with Jessica?"
Dean went numb. He couldn't believe Sam would accuse his girlfriend of cheating and with him at that.
"I didn't sleep with her Sammy. You know me."
"Do I?"
"What is that suppose to mean? Of course you know me."
"Look I'm not trying to start a fight-"
"Too bad. We're finishing this!"
"Why can't you just leave it alone? You really want to know?"
"I really want to know."
"I think you're a pathetic waste of space." Anger boiled so deep from within overshadowed the regret he already felt especially with his next statement. "I hate you and wish I never knew you."
The room stays silent as Dean's face turns a shade of red as he points at Sam raising his voice. "You don't mean that. Take that back! I have done everything in my power for you and this is the level of disrespect I get. I'm even carrying a baby for you and Jess-"
"That I didn't ask you to do," Sam said turning his face away. "You chose to do that."
Dean briefly puts his face in his hands and looks up with glassy eyes and resignation. "If you're trying to push me away it sure is working. I hear you nice and clear, you want me gone and I'll go if that's what you want."
His voice cracks on the last word and he turns so his back is to Sam and turns back halfway refusing to let him see him cry. "Tell me not to leave and I won't. I'm going to pack my bags."
None of them knew that the same fertility goddess who impregnated Dean was nearby in the salvage yard listening. She was waiting to kidnap him at his weakest so she could take back the baby that was rightfully hers.
Dean is up the stairs before it registers in Sam's mind what he had just said. Jessica runs up the stairs after Dean. He looks over at the other two occupants in the room. They look at him with sadness and anger but don't say anything to him. Bobby motions for John to follow him to the kitchen where they put away the groceries.
Dean comes back down with Jessica following behind with another duffle of her own.
"Until you get your act together we are done and I'm leaving with him. I can't stand to be around you like this."
"Jess," he said taking her arm as she went past him. "Dean. Don't go. I'm sorry!"
"Too little, too late," Dean said quietly, so quietly that only Sam could hear the crack in his voice.
When Jessica and Dean got outside and were beginning to walk to the impala, a young lady appeared out of thin air in front of him and took him and they vanished together. Jessica reached for him but they vanished before she could make contact, leaving her behind. Jessica scream cried when she no longer saw him.
"John! Sam! Bobby! He's gone!"
Sam caught her as she fell to her knees. She hit him in the chest and told him not to touch her. Bobby came over to comfort her and she took as much as she could from that embrace.
