Mira Pov:
"Growing up as a moth sometimes tends to be a challenge since my mother Mothra, who was a divine moth once looked over humanity and tried to make the earth a welcoming world and look after its people. She died after a struggle with a creature that was against her ideology, I was only a larva when Medusa found me since the battle happened near her temple. While she does have a grudge against gods and goddesses since she was once human who then was cursed by Athena to become the gorgon she is, she felt sorry for me being the only one to survive my mother's fight. Growing up with her and my adoptive brother Deuce taught me many things, compassion can come from many creatures in moments of disaster. Also that gorgons are very competitive in any kind of situation and any field."
Monster High-Hallways
Today at the school there was a special event going on that involved fundraising for different activities and sports. Everyone including both monster and Kaiju was showing off their types of meals from across the world. Right by one of the tables was Mira who was helping out to share both her and Deuce's snacks, rock candy. Right now things seemed slow since the other students were focused on the other tables.
"Maybe we can go on break and explore the event? It might be fun to check out the tables."
Mira suggested Deuce who was giving out some rock candy to a customer would suggest that. However, the snakes on top of his head began to hiss at Mira for that suggestion.
"Never sister! Gorgons never lose, winning is everything."
They hissed at the moth girl which caught her off since one of the things that she had to accept while growing up was Medusa and Deuce's hair having different emotions. However, Deuce was in control and stopped them from acting rude to her since he noticed how their table wasn't getting any customers.
"I'd love to do that sis and check out the other snacks, but we got to keep going. If we're going win the trophy."
Agreeing with how he'd like to spend time with Mira since he always looked after her when his mom brought her into their temple. However, when it came to competition the gorgon rules had come to play and nothing could distract them from it, especially since the trophy was being shown across the tables to motivate them. The moth Kaiju sighs at the response as she looked at her friends enjoying themselves as she tried to stay optimistic since this was a kind gesture to share their snacks with the student body, however, she wanted to enjoy it as well.
"Four rock candy pieces please."
A voice asked for the candy as Mira looked saw it was their friends involved Junior and the ghouls who happened to take part in the fundraising event. Accepting the money that he gave her Mira handed him and the others the rock candy that Deuce made for the fundraiser. Each of them had different expressions on their faces on the snack as they found them delicious.
"Killer rock candy, what did you use for ingredients?"
Clawdeen suggesting since she was fascinated with eating a snack that was made from a monster, Mira was happy enough to show her as on the side was Deuce grabbing sugar from aback and changing it into rock candy with his stone ability. It surprised the four teens since it was both fast and simple, yet they still seemed unable to get any more buys.
"One of my brain bits is telling me that it might be more profitable to get yourselves known to the public. Such as the others who are expressing themselves to the other students."
Frankie offered an idea that was sparking in their brain as it seemed the other tables had different types of attractions that were grabbing the attention of others. Titan was juggling sea shells for Lagoona as she was selling her family's coral surprise dish, along the side was Cleo who had several mummies, and Caesar presenting to them a royal type meal that was served several thousand years ago in mint condition. While at the side was Ghoulia and Armor who hadn't sold as much since their snack was brain pie.
"That's going be a challenge since you're going up against Cleo whose plates are solid gold and free water in gold cups."
Draculaura made a statement that while they had quite the snack it wasn't drawing any attention to their table, in which the others tried to think of an idea that could help them out. Junior looked at the other tables seeing they all had two dishes which were both monster and Kaiju based, leaving him to think for a moment about how Deuce and Mira could be different.
"Why not change the look of your candy."
Suggesting that the two siblings customize the look of their snack seeing how they were serving rock candy. On the side was one of the snakes listening to the conversation and hissed at the idea since the rock candy was their prize snack, Deuce stopped the hissing as he was curious about what the Kaiju king said.
"I mean you have everyone doing something special while showing their treats. Maybe change the rock candy's appearance."
Junior looks at how before they are made it's simply sugar, so all they need to do is model the rock candy into different shapes. Taking a moment to think about it Deuce smiled at the idea and looked towards the four curious if they could help out. While they didn't seem to know about making snacks for an event like this or even want to participate, Clawdeen believed they should help out the gorgon and moth girl since they owed him for helping out with the 'Hyde' incident.
"Maybe we can help since you did help out with Komos and got turned to stone. Just tell us what we need to do."
The werewolf girl decided to help out the ghouls going along with the idea, Junior merely blew smoke from his nose since this was going to lead to a lot of work. Mira showed a smile before hugging each of them since the more help they get the better it be to help out with Deuce's Casketball team.
"If that's the case what shapes should we start with to make?"
Draculaura asking on what they could model the rock candy into if they needed to draw in the crowd. Continuing to think of a shape they heard a crunching sound from the side it was Junior who was still eating his candy when he noticed their eyes gazing at him.
"What? I paid Mira for a piece. I may be large as well and could use my breath to destroy an entire tree, but I'm not cheap."
The lizard responds to the looks thinking that he didn't pay for the rock candy that he was eating. Except they had an alternative idea for him as Junior slowly pieced together what they were thinking about how they could help with getting customers to buy more rock candy. Shaking his head at the response Clawdeen would try to explain what the plan was.
"It's nothing too serious. We're just going model the candy into you, that way everyone can take a bite out of you."
Explaining that while everyone's meals are unique and special, they could model the sugar into a proper form of Junior that would entice the others to buy the candy. Junior seemed doubtful about how it would work, Frankie decided to offer their help as they walked over to where the sugar bags were located and began to work on modeling the sugar into Junior's shape. Doing their best it was now Deuce's turn to change the sugar into rock candy.
"Never exactly did this before but let's give it a shot."
Trying to be confident in this idea as the others covered their eyes so they wouldn't get caught in Deuce's gazes. Removing his shades a bright green light from his eyes fired at the sugar which in an instant crystallized into rock candy. Putting them back on the others opened their eyes where they saw a rock candy shaped Godzilla Junior.
"Quite the look it has, alone handsome don't you think?"
Draculaura teased Junior about how the rock candy version of himself looked just like him. The reptile merely sighs at the joke as she always liked to mess with him since they were considered royalty including him being a king and her a princess. Admiring the candy styled Kaiju they heard a meowing from the side. Turning around they saw Toralei who seemed interested in the snack.
"I had to check out the table since it had the most company."
The werecat stated to the group as she walked over to observe the Kaiju rock candy and offered her money to the moth girl. Mira accepted it and handed the rock shaped lizard to her which she took a moment to study.
"You know I thought someone who calls himself 'Godzilla' he'd be with more intimidating monsters and Kaiju. Not a half normie and weirdos, maybe that's why Kaiju's want to try and take your title."
Making a sly remark towards Junior as she heard about the fight between him and Komos along with his roar being heard from half of the school and the forest. Walking away to eat the rock candy with a smirk on her face, Junior merely breathed in heavily with his eyes faintly glowing about to use his breath on her. He was quickly stopped by the ghouls and the others as the outcome wouldn't be pretty.
"At least it works. Thank you, I mean it. We should get to work right away if we're going get that trophy."
Deuce thanked his friends for suggesting the idea of sculpting monsters and Kaiju into candy rock figures. Noticing Toralei eating the Junior shaped candy, the other students rushed over to order several candy rocks as well in different shapes and forms. Deuce smiled at his friends seeing that he was going to need help with the order as well as how much money he was being given, along that the orders were too many.
Later in the Creepateria
Needing a bigger space for them to make more rock candy, they decided to head to the Creepateria where for the last several hours. The small group of monster and Kaiju students was working on a whole set of rock candy that had been ordered by the customers.
"I know that being a king has to have responsibilities which I'll figure out eventually. But candy making isn't one of them!"
Junior shouted out in the air since he was right now working on sculpting several forms of himself and other students who wanted to have rock candy versions of themselves. They were working in a tow line from Draculaura handing out the lists of which order was first. Frankie scooped up the right proportions, Deuce turned the sugar into rock candy, and Clawdeen and Mira placed them in boxes for them to hand out to the customers.
"This has to be the most time I've been exhausted in my whole afterlife."
Draculaura responded to how it had been hours since they'd worked on making ore rock candy figures. They all looked tired and unable to keep their eyes open from the amount of rock candy they made, Deuce yawned a bit at how much he's been using his stone vision to make the candy.
"Wait till mom sees this Mira. We're going show that trophy to her and be the first adoptive siblings in the family to win one."
Telling his sister since it was a big surprise for Medusa to adopt Mira into the family, their getting a trophy would show the rest of the family how she fit in. The smile on his face soon faded away to a tired expression which left him to hit one of the rock candy pieces which reflected right off and hit a table. Everyone saw how the blast turned the table into rock candy.
"Ok. I think we need to take a break and bring out the ones in the box to the others."
Clawdeen suggesting as it seemed that making the rock candy and using his powers had taken its toll on him. Noticing how many boxes they had that were filled with rock candy, the group began to take a box and head back out to the fundraiser. Walking down the hallway Frankie accidentally lets out a yawn which was a sneeze that made them drop the box. However Draculaura quickly used a spell to stop the box from breaking on the floor, the snakes turned around to see what happened while not seeing the vampire using her magic.
"Careful! We need to win this. Not have broken rocks on the ground!"
Deuce's snakes respond to Frankie's accident which made them surprised at Deuce's outburst. The others looked upset at that shout especially Junior since they were the ones that suggested the idea.
"Watch it. Frankie could have kept that idea to themselves. But they're your friends, so back off."
Junior talks to the snake pieces than Deuce since they were the ones who said it than the body they were on. Deuce shaking his head and noticing the looks he was getting, tried his best to stay awake as he didn't hear the shouting.
"Sorry. My snakes get a mind of their own if they don't sleep. Once we win the trophy I'll take a good night's rest."
Apologizing to him as they arrived back at the tables where it was still going on. Setting themselves up at the tables and rock candy, Deuce was placing versions of himself at the front which got most of the attention while the others were by the side.
"How come you're putting rock candy versions of yourself out first?"
Junior asks him and he then noticed Deuce had fallen asleep yet still standing, meaning the snakes seemed to be the ones in control of Deuce's body. Hissing back at him it had seemed they were in charge of what was happening.
"Because we are the ones that will be winning. Gorgons win first!"
Hissing towards the Kaiju reptile as both were hissing and growling at one another which could lead to them a fight. Mira saw how they were acting like animals about to fight, she decided to make a quick decision and buy some brain pie from Ghoulia.
"Let's not do anything hasty, we should take a break and have some pie."
Offering a peaceful solution for the moment as the ghouls could see Mira was trying her best to stop the argument. Deuce's eyes began to open up noticing the smell of the pie, as he was about to taste it. The snakes still felt like they needed to win this stare off against Junior as the snakes quickly took control of Deuce's hands and flipped the pie into Junior's face.
"Oh, headless horsewoman."
Clawdeen responded as she and the others were surprised at the gorgon boy who hit Junior's face with the pie. Taking a moment to accept what had just happened, the Kaiju walked over to Ghoulia and Armor's table where he bought one of their pies.
"Wait. The pies aren't for throwing there for.."
Before Armor could stop his friend from throwing the pie. Junior hurled it at Deuce and the snakes took control of their unconscious host and ducked allowing the brain pie to hit Draculaura. Everyone gasped at the vampire covered in the pie as she took a minute to remove the pie off her face. Remaining calm she walked over to Ghoulia's table and purchased herself a brain pie.
"I guess the old saying goes, "Enough is never enough." for this type of moment!"
Announcing as she hurled it at Junior to which the lizard was able to duck at the fast projectile, however, they heard a splat hitting someone. Looking over they soon gasped at the sight of Cleo who got splattered by the pie, the mummy had an agitated look on her face as she requested a towel from Caesar.
"Thank you, now make them cry."
Giving him both gratitude and a request as the Shisha walked over and bought two pies from Ghoulia he walked over to slam both pies in Draculaura and Junior's faces. The two looked speechless at the pie slap Frankie merely clapped their hands at what was happening as it seemed exciting. Walking over to Ghoulia's table they bought several more pies and handed them to everyone around Deuce's table.
"Frankie, this isn't exactly a good idea since this inspires a..."
"Food fight!"
Heath and Rhodey interrupt Clawdeen's response to Frankie's decision since it caused the students out of excitement to rush towards the table where it had the brain pies as they began to hurl them towards one another. The whole area became a battleground for food being thrown across the area and students being splattered with pies. Mira across the side saw her brother fast asleep as she dragged him to the side where the snakes were hissing about how they weren't buying the rock candy.
"Maybe it's time you all need to take a nap."
Stating to the snakes as she pulled out Deuce's hood and placed it over the snakes. Just as they went away, Deuce's eyes slowly opened up as he noticed the pie fight happening which had him confused.
"Did I do this?"
Feeling upset with himself as Mira nodded as they continued to take cover from the pie fight. Feeling that she had to end it, Mira had no choice but to remove her hoodie as well as use her wings to stop the food from being thrown across the area. Just as she was about to end it, no one noticed Headmistress Bloodgood coming into the room with Nightmare by her side.
"What is the meaning of this?!"
The headmistress announced as her voice was loud enough to get their attention and stop the students from throwing the pies. Only for Mira to accidentally blow the pies out of the student's hands and right onto Bloodgood and Nightmare which made everyone shocked at the collision. Mira was surprised by how she didn't expect the principal to come in, along with the punishment they'd get in.
Next Hour Later
Learning about the pie fight starting with Deuce's group, they had to clean up the fundraising area while the trophy. Was being rewarded to Ghoulia and Armor as the food fight left their table the only one standing and all of their pies were being bought by everyone. The two smiled at the accomplishment while on the side were the others watching the moment of victory for the zombie and spikey Kaiju.
"All that work only to end up cleaning up the mess. Guess winning might not be all it's cracked up to be."
Deuce realizes how in his effort to win so desperately for the trophy, he lost sight of what made him want to do this. Helping out Mira win a trophy and to be welcomed by the rest of his family, the moth Kaiju saw how her brother was realizing the error of his ways and the look on his face.
"Even if we didn't win. At least we got to spend time together trying to win. That has to count for something right?"
Offering her opinion on what they tried to do as the snaked headed boy couldn't help but smile at how Mira still found a way to make a bad situation look positive. As the two offered comfort to one another, the four other monster and Kaiju students were handling with cleaning the food splattered across the walls and floor.
"Do a good deed and end up with pie in the face, what kind of lesson is that?"
Junior questions the ghouls on how that even after helping out Deuce and Mira with making the rock candy. They end up in a food fight, had everyone's clothes ruined, and get in trouble. While the ghouls could see the upset look on his face and understand the reason, the three noticed Mira and Deuce smiling at one another as well as apologizing for what had happened.
"I don't know, but I can tell there's a reward in this."
Clawdeen responded at how it was pleasant sightseeing two creatures from different species helping out one another. One of the many things that Monster High had proudly stood for, accepting one another's fault and helping them no matter what the issue is.
