Lagoona Pov:
"What's better than enjoying a relaxing saltwater bath and listening to music on a Icoffin? Gloom Beach. Best place to go in the summer as well has the best waves to swim in, plus has the best meals to enjoy after a good surf. While it's great to visit the beach again since my parents brought there when I was a little guppie, it was also the place where I met Titan after his dad was teaching him to make large waves with his tail. He was a bit curious about meeting non-Kaiju aquatic beings at Gloom beach, but sure enough we ended up as friends. Hope the others get to see how incredible the beach can be when they visit it for the first time."
Morning-Gloom Beach
It was a bright and steaming day in the Kaiju realm as well had everyone passing out from the heat that was being made. Lagoona suggested a plan to head to Gloom Beach since it would be the first time they could hang out in her natural element. Coming up to shore in a bus driven by Mrs. O'Shriek, they arrived right at the perfect timing where the best spots weren't taken and that it wasn't packed with monsters and Kaiju trying to enjoy the water. Coming out was the teacher who smiled at the sight and how she was delighted to be brought along with her classmates.
"I must say it's unlike the class to include me in anything, but I guess it might be because you needed a bus to bring in everything for the amusement you'll be having now. Correct?"
Asking the students who were gathering their belongings and materials needed for the beach day. Lagoona wearing her own custom beach attire smiled at her teacher since she seemed to need this trip to the shores.
"Not at all. I thought it be good to treat you for the trouble we made in class, and that we haven't taken our driving lessons yet."
Responding to the teacher as O'Shriek smiled at her honesty and that it was kind of the ghoul to invite her. Junior was the first to come out as he was wearing dark blue swim trunks with a matching shirt who was looking around the beach if any Kaiju might get the idea on ambushing him. Though the idea was unlikely since he was with his friends and a teacher from Monster High, yet he still felt tensed about the choice in coming here.
"Is it this place technically not a beach? Cause since I started taking classes and reading about discussions about the best locations here, Gloom Beach is actually a part of North Beach which is a holiday resort. Besides we've could have gone anywhere else where it's not so populated, like the lake."
Junior suggesting another place they could have gone to then open space and near a massive amount of water that would have numerous Kaiju that would pop up to try and take a bite out of him. Hearing some scuffling from the bus and his friends coming out, he noticed Clawdeen coming out in beach clothing that displayed her wolf like personality along getting Junior's attention since she had her hair done for when she'd go for a swim.
"Because lakes are usually have barbecues, fishing and fireworks. I haven't seen anyone set of fireworks since there was a rule about fireworks startling Kaiju's and them trashing several trees. Have you seen that before Junior?"
Asking him about the difference of what made the lake different from the beach and if he's seen any Kaiju react violently towards fireworks. Though Junior was distracted by the ghoul's style since after she help make the costumes for the comic convention, she's done several more and for her friends. While he was alright with him and his friends dressing up for a special event, this time however made her look incredible. Junior tried to figure out what to say but not before seeing Draculaura in her own swimwear for the beach and holding an umbrella over her to block off the sun shining on her.
"Don't try asking him anything Clawdeen, as usual for boys. They can't help but be awestruck by a ghoul who knows how to make a entrance with new clothing."
The vampire explaining to her friend about what was making Junior not say anything which made Clawdeen blush a bit of making him speechless at her beach wear. Though the lizard boy snapped out of his moment of silence after hearing Draculaura's words, while she did have the same presence like Clawdeen did he was able to listen to how he responded to the werewolf.
"Well apologies your majesty. I've been on my own for the past several years without having any friends and didn't think anyone's clothing but surviving. It's not my fault if Clawdeen looks amazing."
Responding back and realizing the last part of his sentence which made him grumble underneath his breath which left the half werewolf ghoul to laugh at his honesty. Draculaura sighs at Junior's response since it was like her when it came to being speechless at certain moments. Coming off the bus along the others who came along which included Deuce and Mira, to Cleo who was wearing a pair of shades who had Caesar accompanying her with several items of the Egyptian royalty. Junior was about to join in on the amusement before noticing Lagoona looking focused than the others if she was looking for something, or someone.
"He is right you know. It's not his fault that most people are attracted to ghouls with a sense of fashion, besides that it makes it more exciting to go further and see what their reactions will be."
Agreeing with it not being Junior's fault in admiring Clawdeen's choice in fashion as she made her way down to the beach and decided to look for the best spot to take in the sun. The king left defeated in the manner as well noticing the others heading to the beach to get comfortable in the sand as well seeing Frankie being the last one off the bus. They had their type of fashionable beach clothing for the activity as they noticed Junior still having a defeated expression on his face.
"It's very understandable why you find the two interesting to hang around with. She has an incredible imagination in designing fashionable garments along Draculaura who can be assertive while also friendly in the best of occasions. Much like your interest in me when I can help with homework and figuring out why your scales glow when you can control your emotions."
Doing a full explanation for how Junior was acting in the moment and bringing up themselves in the topic. Junior merely turned red at the comment and his scales glowing at the statement leaving Frankie to join up with the others. Coming out of the bus was Titan who packed several surf boards for the guys just in case when he makes the waves along happened to hear the conversation that happened outside.
"Hey King? I know that you're possibly the toughest amongst us Kaiju. But that right there? Total wipe out."
Admitting to Junior being defeated verbally as the lizard teen only growled at Titan which made the aquatic teen run past him scared about what he'd do to him. Deciding to regroup with the others and seeing how everyone was setting up to enjoy the day, Lagoona took a moment to look around the place and begun to get anxious about something important to her.
"Lagoona? What exactly did you do to make a day at Gloom Beach exciting? It's my first time to be on the beach as well, along showing my wings in front of everyone."
Mira asking as she had on a swimsuit that made the moth girl show off her wings to everyone which made her feel embarrassed since they were sometimes the center of attention. Taking a moment to adjust herself and helping out her friend, Lagoona saw her friends trying to figure out what activity they were going to do first.
"Well usually I'd hit straight to the water for a good surf. Anyone want to join me?"
Suggesting on what they'd try out as she looked towards Titan who had the surf boards ready to be used for the occasion. Deuce wanted to try it out along with Clawdeen and Frankie who were excited with surfing in the water, Junior decided he stay out of it and make sandcastles with the others. Heading out to the water to the waves, Titan did several stretches before he joined the surfers.
"Might want to keep anything try away buddies, it's going be a big one once I'm in the water."
Warning the group as he dove into the water swimming far off to the distance in order to make a large wave for his friends. Meanwhile Lagoona lead the others across the water where she'd find the perfect spot to wait for Titan's wave which would have them begin surfing. Waiting for the wave to start, Deuce took a moment to look at how far they were from the others and what type of wave they would be riding.
"It was lucky that my parents packed me waterproof bolts. And also fortunate enough to pack me with feet that know how to swim."
Frankie mentioning to their friends about being well equipped for the surfing experience they would experience as well Clawdeen who didn't look that frighten by the moment.
"It's not going be that bad. My dad once took me to a beach when a full moon was out, really exciting for me since I can see in the dark. There shouldn't be that much difference from there to here, right?"
Asking Lagoona about the difference between the human world's beaches and here which left the aquatic ghoul to chuckle at the comparison. Dipping her head into the water and signaling Titan who was able to hear through the water as the finned Kaiju chuckled about giving them a monster size wave. Getting serious about the moment and swimming in a circular motion, Titan was making a whirlpool several times building up the force as right above the water. The monster surfers notice the water being slowly pulled back how they could see from the far side Titan making up the wave.
"I think he might go too far with this wave Lagoona."
Deuce suggesting about her friend starting them off with a large wave since he's done surfing from time to time but not when it was with new surfers. Lagoona only laughed at the gorgon getting noticed before the four suddenly feeling a strong push in the water scaring them. They noticed nothing happening until they heard a rushing sound of water coming up from behind them. Clawdeen gazed at the body of water coming straight at them as she got into position and waited for the wave to come right at her.
"Please don't let me drown at the beach in front of my friends!"
Clawdeen thinking in her mind before getting swamped up by the wave along the others as they felt the current pulling them right across the wave. Meanwhile on the beach was Cleo relaxing on the sand with getting a perfect tan, the others were sculpting a sand haunted house and noticed the others surfing the wave that Titan made. Seeing Deuce and Lagoona riding headfirst being the experienced surfers, Clawdeen and Frankie followed from behind avoiding getting washed up by the water.
"I thought you'd want to join up on the surfing experience. Or is it because you don't like wetting your fur?"
Junior joking with the Shisa about not joining the others for the excitement which made Mira laugh at the comment since Caesar usually prides himself on his well groomed fur. Caesar merely glared at him for the comment but not before hearing the water hitting the side which splashed right onto Caesar. Yelling at getting wet he moved away causing Mira to laugh at the panicked scream the Shisha did, except for Junior who noticed Lagoona surfing aggressively as she was looking around Gloom Beach for something. Seeing them slowly make it back to the shore, each of them looked scared for their afterlives or thrilled at almost being washed away by Titan's wave attack.
"I never knew water could be so aggressive. Especially the looks on everyone's faces of fear and excitement, was it like this when you surf with your father?"
Frankie asking Clawdeen as their heart was beating rapidly but only made the ghoul enjoy the thrill of it. Not so much for Clawdeen who was shaking from the Kaiju wave that she'd didn't expect to not handle since it was wild and unpredictable. Hearing laughter from the water was Titan who couldn't help but enjoy the wave he made for his friends and enjoying showing off his skills for them.
"I love a good wave! Maybe I should consider it a job, hey Junior. Think once your like Gojira I can be like a 'Wave master' for surfers."
Questioning Junior about if he could help him later on once the lizard fully became the Kaiju king that got everyone's respect and authority. Junior didn't listen as he was still looking at Lagoona who continued to look around as this had him interested. His look got interrupted by Mira who noticed not responding to Titan as he saw the finned teen looking at him for an answer.
"Sure, maybe. I don't know I'm still learning about what exactly my spot is as king is. But if there's opportunity to have you give monsters and Kaiju's a surfer to remember I'll make sure to call you."
Answering him for his request which made Titan smile at the acknowledgement as the group walked over to dry themselves off from the surfing. Mrs. O'Shriek was able to bring several meals for them as gratitude in being invited over. The monsters and Kaiju walked over to see what their teacher brought with her on trip while Junior was still suspicious about why Lagoona was acting strange. The best thing he could do was wait for the right moment to see what was going on.
Later-Night Time
The sun had set at the beach along the group managing to lite a fire for the occasion, everyone gathered around Mrs. O'Shriek since she learned another reason why Lagoona asked her to join them. Which was helping out with a barbeque since most of them ate meat and the other vegetables, having their teacher there to help out with the cooking as well having adult supervision was helpful.
"While I still believe your all capable of making meals for yourselves without burning the beach. It still gives me the opportunity to share my herbal salad to help with fluent thinking and concentration.
Mrs.O'Shriek complimenting them about sharing a meal with them and being offered their own foods in return. The gang settled by the shore and listened to music while also stargazing at the sky with there no being clouds blocking the stars. While things seemed to be going alright, Junior was still invested in what Lagoona was doing on her own and walking into the forest by herself.
"Everything alright there dino boy?"
Hearing someone break his focus which was Draculaura who was able to enjoy the moonlight sky and enjoy the beach with her friends along helping out with the fireworks. Though not without deciding to tease Junior first it was a fun hobby to mess around with him since they were both royalty from having fathers of royal status.
"Actually not, because since we got here Lagoona has been acting like a great white shark looking for a late-night snack. Even I'm concern since I'm always watching my back for people trying to attack me."
Admitting to her that he was concern for Lagoona since she was one of the outgoing ghouls that he's met and helped out in adjusting to Monster High. Hearing his words and getting curious about what the ghoul was doing made Draculaura smile at the moment since it was surprising this side of him.
"In the past I'd say let her be and handle whatever is happening. But after hanging out with other monsters, learning to open up and not being afraid of being a witch to you and the others. Maybe you should try and help out, that is one of the responsibilities of being king. Even if she isn't a Kaiju."
Offering him a suggestion which caught Junior off guard about how she'd suggest talking with Lagoona about what was going on with her. Nodding his head and thanking Draculaura for the advice, the two parted ways as she went to see if there was anything left to eat and for him to check up on Lagoona. Keeping close to the shadows and keeping quiet, Lagoona was walking across near several trees where the moon light was shining over her. The expression on her face was a mixture of frustration and sadness continuing this search.
"Mi amor. Where are you?"
Thinking to herself as Lagoona felt anxious about her search and her teeth chattering as she wanted to rip off a fish's head to calm her nerves. Continuing to chatter her teeth she heard a stick snapping on the side which made her leap out to see who was spying on her. Letting out her inner monster and roaring at who was watching her from behind a bush, she saw Junior who was unfazed by the roar along impressed at the terrifying face she put on.
"Did you sharpen for your fangs for whatever it is your doing? Cause they look like they can make werewolves cry, don't tell Clawdeen I said that."
Questioning Lagoona about the reason for being here out on her own which caught the fish ghoul off guard for noticing her drifting away from the group. Nervous about answering and trying to best bring it up since it was a personal subject, she could see Junior wanted to know if something was wrong and wanted to help out if there was an issue.
"I'm, waiting to see someone that might come tonight."
Admitting to what she was doing as Junior's interest was intrigued by what was going on as he seats down on a rock so he could hear the explanation behind who she was looking for. Taking a second to adjust herself and thinking about how to explain this to him, Lagoona started off the best way which was meeting Titan during her first visit at Gloom Beach.
"It happened several years ago. My family came from the Honduras seas to see the Kaiju realm and the massive waters they had. Gloom Beach was the best spots to visit, especially where I met Titan who was with his dad in welcoming aquatic monsters to the shore. Sure enough, we became best friends with how we enjoyed swimming in the water and scaring birds by the rocks."
Starting off the reason as Junior remembered when numerous monsters from the human world decided to visit the Kaiju realm. He was still learning about himself and watching the home he lived in changing, growing and especially welcoming monsters here as friends. Taking a moment to focus on Lagoona's story, he felt like she was going getting to the important part of her story.
"During one of our scares I happened to see this boy in the woods. He looked so, breath taking. Light blue skin with matching fins, razor sharp teeth and the cutest smiles. I had to see him, but before I could he left. Every summer I come here to try and see him but never have the chance. But also having the feeling that he could be the sea monster of my dreams."
Finishing her story as well displaying an affectionate side as it appeared she was a fan of romance and desiring a boyfriend that was like her. Junior couldn't argue about being with someone important since he wanted to be with his father growing up, but never could due to him not being their when he hatched from his egg. Lagoona waited to see what his response would be since it was embarrassing to fantasize about a monster that would like a ghoul like her.
"If you needed help looking for someone then you should have asked. I've been needing a reason to try out my fire breathing."
Offering his assistance in helping out as he asked Lagoona to take a step back as he needed to build up his energy blast. Watching his scales glow and him inhaling deep, his eyes lit up as he throws his head back letting out a powerful blast into the air making the sky glow bright and the forest visible to see. Taking the chance Lagoona looks around the forest in an excited manner thinking that she could see the sea monster of her dreams. Trying to hold the blast for as much as possible, Junior began to lose it as he collapsed on the ground letting out smoke from his mouth and nose. Lagoona however using the moment could see any traces of the boy or a hint that she was trying to find him.
"What in the name of Ra was that?! It startled half of the birds and made them fly over us."
Hearing Cleo's voice as the others rushed over to see what was happening since they saw Junior's breath blast in the air brightening the sky up causing several birds to flock over the beach. Lagoona got nervous at her friends seeing her and Junior out of breath from the blast he offered her as he tried to catch his breath. Getting anxious about the moment and almost about to tell her reason, Draculaura decided to help out in the situation.
"Lagoona asked Junior out to try and do his best impression on scaring a whale. Though it seems he went overboard, right?"
Coming up with a white lie for the moment as Lagoona was able to get what she was doing along Junior nodding to the vampire about what happened. Seeing how it was the answer left everyone both relived and confused about it happening at night time instead of in the afternoon.
"Maybe we should start heading back before we startle the wildlife. There are some Kaiju's that live near the shore and aren't a fan of the light."
Mira suggesting on heading back so they didn't startle anyone who might have seen the light show Junior made for everyone. Agreeing with the suggestion the group would head back to the beach and begin packing for the ride home. While Lagoona felt sad about not getting a chance to see her dream monster, she was fortunate enough to have friends that would want to keep this secret and keep it hidden from anyone. Joining the others in packing up for the ride home, was someone watching from the rocks which was a male sea monster. With cyan skin and blue scales, he had fins across his arms and head with his neck wearing an air necklace to help him breath.
"I can't believe she's still looking for me. I'm such a guppie for not actually meeting her."
Thinking to himself since he was nervous as Lagoona in meeting her face to face since he found her amazing and fascinating to listen to. Before he decided to head out his Icoffin got a message which startled him due to the moment he was in. Taking a second to read the message, his eyes widened in an excited manner.
"Gillington Webber, you've been accepted into Monster High. Gnarly!"
Shouting out in the air excitedly since he could attend the school that his parents had been trying to him into. Though he suddenly realized that he might be Lagoona if he went there and she recognizes him. Getting nervous about the idea he decided to keep a cool head and decide to practice on being social as well possibly meeting Lagoona once he starts attending Monster High.
