A/N: I wanted to do another Lukanette fic for Emiko Gale, plus KagamiPINKAgreste's been having a tough time lately, so I wrote this. Enjoy!
It was a cool Friday afternoon in Paris, and Luka Couffaine was riding his bike around. He had no particular preference when it came to riding his bike or taking a walk, but to him, there was something special about feeling the wind against his face as he easily pedalled his way around the City of Love. Plus, he felt like he was in his own little world as he was cycling. Eventually, though, he got hungry, so he stopped by the nearest Ladybug Burger for supper. It wasn't every day that he ate out due to the expense, but he felt like treating himself today.
"Hi, welcome to Ladybug Burger!" said the cashier, a short Middle Eastern young woman. "What can I get for you?"
"Hmmm…" Luka stroked his chin. "I'll have a Ladybug Ranch Burger with extra cheese, a medium Viperion Cheesy Fry and a medium Dr. Pepper, please."
The cashier punched in his order. "Will that be all?"
Luka nodded. "Yep, that's it."
After paying for his food, Luka waited for a little bit before his food came out, and he happily chowed down. While Ladybug Burger was pricier than the usual American fast food joints like McDonald's or Burger King, he not only found the menu more interesting and having greater variety, but the food was fresher and tastier as well. Having had a satisfying meal, he exited the restaurant and ran into a familiar face:
"Hey Luka…BWAH!"
Marinette Dupain-Cheng accidentally tripped over someone else's bike that was chained up to the same bike rack that Luka's was. Naturally, he helped her up.
"Hey there, Marinette! Are you OK?"
Marinette frowned. "I'm fine, but…" she sighed. "I can't help this stupid clumsiness of mine! I try harder to better myself, but no matter how hard I try, I keep falling over the weirdest things, and ugh!"
Luka put his hands on his shoulders. "I may not know exactly how you feel, but this seems like something that's a sensitive issue for you, and I just want to let you know that I still love you in spite of your clumsiness. In fact, I've been observing you carefully throughout our relationship, and as we've grown closer, you've gotten less clumsy. You may not feel like it, but I know that being together has made us both better people, and I'm grateful I met you."
Marinette smiled. "Thanks, Luka."
"You're welcome, Love Song."
Marinette gave Luka a big hug, which he gladly returned. No matter how down she felt about herself, Marinette always felt better whenever she hugged Luka. He was the one guy besides her father Tom who always made her smile, and it was because of him that her self-esteem shot into space. Plus, whenever he wrapped his strong, manly arms around her, she felt so safe and snuggly, like nothing could ever hurt her. Sure, she may secretly have been Paris' hero Ladybug, but even heroes needed heroes, and this aqua green guitarist had practically saved her more than once. She would never forget anything he ever did for her.
Luka would never forget Marinette's kindness either. Truth be told, romance had never been one of his biggest priorities in life, but he was open to being in a relationship provided it was with the right person, and Marinette was definitely the right person. Not only did he feel better about himself being there for her when she was feeling upset, but he had lots and lots of fun with her, whether it was jamming out on their instruments or playing video games. Plus, not only did she give soft and cuddly hugs, but she smelled pleasant, like a rich pastry that had just come out of the oven, and he wanted more than just a taste of her. As tasty as she was, though, Marinette broke away from the hug.
"So…Marinette, I was riding my bike around, and I brought an extra helmet if you wanted to ride with me. Would you like that?"
Marinette smiled. "Would I? Heck yeah! Let's go, Luka! Uh…Luka?"
Marinette noticed that Luka had trailed off and she looked around to see what could possibly have attracted his attention, only to see that Adrien Agreste and Kagami Tsurugi were – unsurprisingly – making out not too far from them. She waved her hand in front of his face.
"Earth to Luka! Adrien and Kagami aren't putting on a peep show for us, you know!"
Luka chuckled. "Sorry, Marinette; I just can't help but notice how liberated those two are sometimes."
Marinette giggled and playfully shoved Luka. "Well, notice them later! We've got a bike to ride!"
Luka chuckled some more. "Right!"
Luka and Marinette put on their helmets before riding off to wherever their hearts took them.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
