Backstory
"Many centuries ago, magic jewels bestowing extraordinary powers were created. These were the Miraculous. No one knows who or what created them or where they came from, but shortly after they came into existence, they were discovered by a group of men who were mesmerized by the jewels, which seemed to be shaped like different animals
a mouse
an ox
a tiger
a rabbit
a dragon
a snake
a horse
a monkey
a rooster
a dog
a pig
a butterfly
a turtle
a fox
a bee
and a peacock.
As far as they knew, the jewels didn't belong to anybody, so they took the jewels and brought them as well as the black and red box, they came in back to their temple to protect them and make sure they didn't end up in the wrong hands. Fom then on, they were known as the Guardian of the Miraculous. Throughout history (with the help of the guardians), heroes have used these jewels for the good of the human race. Later the temple would be destroyed while the Miracle Box(as they affectionately called it.) was being protected by one particular guardian, Master Fu. After having escaped the temple, and losing the miraculous of both the butterfly and the peacock, he realized something fascinating. Two of these Miraculous were more powerful than the others. The earrings of the Ladybug, which provids the power of creation, and the ring of the Black Cat, which grants the power of destruction. According to legend, whoever controls both these jewels at the same time will achieve absolute power." As for what happened with the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous well, they were found by renowned fashion designer Gabriel aggresste.
Hawk Moth's Lair
After having everything above, explained to him by his Kwami Nooroo, Gabriel gently closes the locket he's holding in his hand, (which contains a picture of his wife Émilie who had been dead for a couple of months), and said
"I want that absolute power, Nooroo I must have those Miraculous."
"But nobody knows where these Miraculous are."
"I found you, though, my little Nooroo. Your Miraculous, remind me of its powers again. Gabriel says as he rubs his locket
"The Moth brooch allows you to give yourself a random superpower, the more you use the Moth Miraculous the more powers you can unlock. Only the chosen one can give someone else their own superpowers, and make that person their devoted follower ."
"And when it comes to luring superheroes, what could be better than creating super-villains?"Gabriel robs the locket and covers it up with his other hand.
"But, Master, weren't you listening? Only the chosen one can give other people their own superpowers and, the miraculous are not meant to be used for evil purposes." Nooroo says with a tone in his voice that sounds like a mix between concern for and fear of his master
"I must have this absolute power!" Gabriel says angrily as he stomps his foot. "Your miraculous is in my control! I am your master now!"
Nooroo gasps the expression on his face, only showing fear of his master now. "And you must obey me."
"Yes, Master." Nooroo says in a voice so soft that it's almost a whisper.
Gabriel attaches The Moth brooch to his shirt and says the magic words. "Nooroo, dark wings rise."
a flock of butterflies circle around him. Nooroo turns into a little ball of light and joins the flock of butterflies,almost as if he's doing it against his will. Gabriel, no longer a silhouette of himself thanks to the amount of light coming from the window, transforms into a purple and black suit with a metallic silver mask, and a staff he holds in his right hand. "From this day on, I shall be known as Hawk Moth." He says with a maniacal laugh.
