Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man made their way into Doctor Octopus' staging point, revealing the plans their former ally has set out to take down Norman Osborn by dismantling his corporate empire piece by piece and securing the Devil's Breath antiserum. As well as how he convinced each villain in this Sinister Six to work with him. And for a moment, it looked like he left a gaping hole, leaving something called ICARUS that Mister Negative supposedly needed to recover the antiserum behind, only it was a trap meant to destroy the evidence as well as Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man. Thankfully they got out of there just before everything blew up. But are they out of danger yet? Read on to discover...
(Our scene picks up immediately after the last one, with Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man slinging their way out of Doctor Octopus' staging grounds just as the entire place is blown up. But just when they think they're out of danger, something can be heard on the wind, and before anybody can react, the three are ensnared in a line stolen from Sable International, held by Vulture)
Vulture: Need a lift?
Spyro: Vulture!
Cynder: Well, that explains what he was doing in Times Square, he was waiting for ICARUS to blow!
Vulture: So refreshing to work for a man like Octavius! The guy's got backup plans for his backup plans!
(Wasting no time, Vulture takes off, flying the bound trio through the streets as MJ calls in and Cynder starts trying to cut through the line)
MJ: Pete? Are you guys okay? What's going on?
Spider-Man: (As they try to dodge the traffic Vulture is slinging them in to) Traffic's a bit rough. Listen, Li's gunning for the antiserum. We need to find Oscorp's Devil's Breath lab before he can!
MJ: Already on it. Ember and Flame are pulling every building permit in the city. If there's a record of this lab, we'll find it.
Spider-Man: Good to know MJ. Going to have to let you go, Octavius just sent an old friend to tango with us. Call you back later! I hope.
(And as Spider-Man hangs up, we see exactly where Vulture is taking the trio, to an Oscorp power plant where Electro is waiting)
Spyro: Cynder, please tell me you've made it through that line, we're about to be in major trouble!
Cynder: Almost! Didn't exactly have a chance to sharpen the tail blade before going in!
(Vulture drops the trio on a catwalk while Cynder works on cutting through, then goes up and meets with Electro)
Electro: The trap failed?!
Vulture: I'd say it softened them up. Move on to Plan B.
(Whatever Plan B is, Electro seems to like it, as he slings a bolt of electricity at the trio just as Cynder cuts through the line, allowing them to scatter and avoid the blast. Knowing there's no time to waste, Electro starts throwing more bolts of electricity. Thankfully, his pattern is predictable, throw a bolt or two, then go to a transformer to recharge. Given a few minutes, the transformers are taken out and Electro runs out of supercharges, much to his dismay)
Electro: V! You're up!
Spider-Man: (Seeing Vulture flying in) Yo, Adrian! It's me, Spider-Man!
Vulture: What are you babbling about?!
Spider-Man: Nobody ever gets my jokes.
Spyro: We got it, it was just a bad one.
(And with that, the battle resumes again, Electro continues to throw bolts in the background while Vulture tries to knock the trio out of the air. Thankfully, the team realizes that if two distract him, the third can rush in. But soon enough, Electro charges back up and gets back in the game)
Electro: Spider-Man! (Channeling his inner Ivan Drago) I must break you!
Spider-Man: You got it! You actually got my joke! I'm so happy I could almost stop fighting! Almost.
Cynder: Keep your head in the game, webhead!
(And now Electro and Vulture double team the trio, Electro throwing bolts of electricity and Vulture trying to knock them out of the sky. But pretty quickly, the trio works out a system. Spider-Man acts as a target to draw Electro and/or Vulture away from Spyro and Cynder who then work on taking out the villains. Spyro throws bolts of his Electricity Element at Electro to cancel out his charge while Cynder divebombs Vulture, trying to disable his wings. Electro meanwhile, activates another transformer and attempts to supercharge himself, but Spyro gets right in after him with some aid from Spider-Man and shorts out the transformer, knocking Electro out of the sky as Spider-Man webs him up)
Spyro: One down...
Cynder: (Dodging Vulture) And one to go!
Vulture: Don't expect this to be easy young one! We've done this dance a thousand times, but this will be your last waltz!
(With that, Vulture jets straight at Cynder, but Spider-Man jams his thrusters with a web shot, allowing Cynder enough time to flip in the air over him and use her tail blade to rip the wing thruster to shreds, sending Vulture crashing into the ground and knocking him out just as NYPD closes in to arrest both of the villains. With a moment of calm at last, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man regroup on a rooftop long enough to see a communication device in Electro's ear, which Spider-Man snags)
Doctor Octopus: What's happening?
Spider-Man: (Responding through the communication device) Electro's been grounded.
Doctor Octopus: Spider-Man. Now I see what the others were talking about. You really are a pain.
Cynder: (Taking the communication device) Otto, this has gone too far.
Doctor Octopus: Cynder, I'm honestly disappointed in both you and Spyro right now. If you truly cared about this city, this planet for that matter, you'd be helping me expose Osborn for the criminal he is!
Cynder: And you planned to do that by killing innocent people?!
Spyro: (Taking the communication device) Otto, you're sick. You need some serious help.
Doctor Octopus: I have all the help I need. And we will not stop until Norman Osborn gets what he deserves.
(And with that, Doctor Octopus cuts communication. Spyro, in his frustration crushes the device and takes off, with Cynder and Spider-Man hot on his heels as our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to end for now. So, Electro and Vulture are both dealt with. That's a third of the Sinister Six out of the way straightaway. Not bad for one night and an encounter nobody actually planned on. Only Scorpion, Rhino, Mister Negative, and Doctor Octopus remain. So, what comes next? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
