I don't own the Pender wicks all rice belongs to Jean Birdsall.
OK, we are now in chapter 6 another hero. I think that's the true chapter name for this chapter. I'm not exactly sure but let me know in the comments if that's right, but I think that's the right title for this chapter.
Anyway, this chapter is about the bull baddie the chapter should've been called Bad in the Ball, but you know that's my subtitle for this chapter Bad in the Ball.
I meant fatty in the pool
never mind
Just begin this chapter
The walk
Mr. Pender's favorite song was Take a walk clear your head. I think that's why he sent him them sent sky on a walk with Jane Batty and Jane and their mother and Roslyn cleaned out the kitchen.
They are airing it out from the burnt cookies I mean this cookie shake. The cookie sheets were smoldering because stupid stupid Sky put the oven on boil well she'll have to figure out why she did that later.
Right now, she was just walking. She had walked with them. She hated that Jeffrey was getting along well with Jane and she just stood there soaking and she walked.
She heard I was talking about a bull walking to the other boundary hedge. She overheard Jeffrey and Jane talking about this.
Do you hear him tell the story there was a bull that lived in this field that we're going to? We're gonna see if we can see him a bowl Jane asked Jeff Jeffrey. Yes, Jeffrey said a bowl he says.
Cagney said Cagney said he heard from a man that a man tried to get a picture of the ball he Gord man right in his field. James' face went shock.
Had had at least six stitches in his chest. He's almost trampled to death, said Jeffrey.
Oh, my Jane said.
They're probably no bull thoughts guy that boy is just trying to impress Jane.
They finally got to where the gate and the wall now Jeffrey said if you can put your face to the wall through the gate through the knothole, you could probably maybe even see the field and bull to people and there was no ball. Jeffrey said oh let me look you're right he's not out today. He's probably in the barn right now. He's probably still in the barn.
That could be a possibility. Jane said there was no bowl sky because she looked too. Just looks like a daisy field. She said she looked through the hole too.
And she was right there was no bowl that boy was just trying to impress Jane.
And there was a truth to that story there was a man who did try to take a picture of the ball in the field, and he wanted a better look so he cleaned up on the wall, but dropped his camera and went to get it. He dropped his expensive camera and went to get it and the bull charged him, his camera was smashed into pieces and when the story got past Jeffrey through Cagney, he didn't change the story that much except for changing one doctor to three and six stitches, which is a lot of stitches probably more than that.
Maybe I can get a better view up on top of the wall, said Jane as they climbed the rope ladder was on top of the wall looking down. I don't see anything.
Then she looked over on the cottage side of the sky. He was about to climb. The ladder is batty with you. Sky's face went pale. I thought she was following close behind us commented.
Sky was now the OP the oldest available Pender Wick. She didn't like being the OP, but somebody had to be when it came to batty.
Baddie And the bull
earlier
Stick by your sisters Rosalyn told Maddie her mother told her to and she stayed by her sisters for a while. I've until the talk about the pool and it wouldn't be because Jeffrey wasn't nice and that he made her feel a little shy about asking her questions about the hound but Maddie hated me and asked questions.
And she didn't mind going on a walk if Hannah was allowed to go with her, but how would having to be on a leash and hound be on a leash mean playing tug-of-war?
Does she have to do her best? And like I said, she did her best until they got to the gate and the wall and then she separated and hid behind a tree so she didn't hear about the Gore raging bull that Jeffrey was talking about.
Also, she heard that it was something special for Jane that Jeffrey was doing for her for Jane I mean.
Also, Skye kept giving Jeffrey this If you mess with my little sister too much I will hurt you look and Jeffrey stopped asking bad questions.
Then, like I said, she hid behind a tree while the other stuff was going on then, when it was safe when everyone was gone, she went to the people to see through it when daddy saw the field. She thought it was a lovely field for horses. She knew a good field for horses when she saw one she saw a barn where she thought there would be horses.
Her mother and Rosalyn took her to see horses before so she knows about horses in their needs.
Do you find a gap in the pee hole and crawl through the bottom of the fence, squeezing her wings around her squeezing herself in?
looking for the bowl, but looking for horses
Betty looked this way and that, but there were no horses. There were just daisies in the field. Well, if there were no horses that I mean, there weren't any she decided to pick daisies instead for her to take back to the cottage to make a chain to have Roslyn help her make a chain out of them.
All was quiet while Betty picked daisies and hummed the song about kangaroos.
The bowl
The ball came out of the barn and surveilled it.
His kingdom, his realm.
The ground began to shake as the bull got closer to Batty.
She wasn't paying attention as she saw that the terrible black thing was coming towards her. She tried to help me a bug that scared off a Daisy stem. She's lying on her stomach as she picks daisies.
Then she finally sees him good horsey there she says to the bowl, the bowl stumps his hooves and blows his nostrils at Batty he did not want to be called a horsey wasn't a horse. He was a bull.
Betty saw now the horns they gave her a little bit of a fright.
meanwhile, on the wall
Jane was on top of the wall
Jeffrey looked up there he asked do you see him looked down and said yes I see him. He's big isn't he Jane knotted? He is huge. I also see Betty oh no, that is not good. We'll have to get her out somehow.
fighting the ball and saving baddie
Both Jeffrey and Skye one under the gate.
Once they did, the sky came closer to batty as Jeffrey took care of the bowl.
Jeffrey was hollering to take that and that and that.
The bold did not like being disturbed like this, so it's new fret to charge or kill the one that dared to trespass in the first place, the one that decided to pick its precious daisies the ball stopped or to batty.
I didn't hunch into a ball, wondering how much it was gonna hurt when the bull charged her but before it could do anything, she felt herself being picked up by someone it was sky sky got to her before the ball.
She picked her up and squeezed her through the gate, wrapping her wings around her as best she could but still, they ripped then the sky went in after her Jeffrey stayed back to take care of that bull.
Then Jeffrey made it out before the bowl
Could get him too, and then they started to run.
Jane came down the ladder.
Then they heard a sound get the ball get out no I don't think so. Jeffrey said no sky reassured Jane, but we needed to make sure something was coming towards them. It was big and black, but no one noticed that it was the big black, lovable dog that was coming at them. It was the hound hound that had gotten out after all.
They had to take him back when he found out that he was missing. He left to look for her and escape his pen.
He is something not right in my world bark when he until he found baddie.
When Betty was in the pen or the gate in the field hound was upset he took his job of protecting the baddie, seriously.
Once they caught him, they sat him down and then after they were a safe distance away from the gate, Betty says I forgot my daisies in the field sky was about to yell at her look fatty. We're not going back for them. We almost died.
Don't yell at her it's not worth it. Jane said we almost lost her sky you're right Jane let us get hound home.
Maybe we should have Daddy and Mommy or Rosalyn go in there to make sure it's safe. Daddy said no listen. We are not doing that either sky said we can't tell them I would say that I wasn't responsible enough for you, but you weren't reluctantly said Hound agreed.
They also think I was a bad OP so please can we drop it can we swear that we won't tell on the pat on the family honor it's only reserved for our family. Jeffrey said it was OK. I can turn away and not look. He says OK but you can't tell anyone he knows his head and agreement.
We the three younger Pender sisters promised not to tell Mommy Daddy and Roslyn about batty in the bowl as the three of them put their fists on top of each other I swear on the Pender with family honor as their fists broke apart.
No, let us go home. They did they went home.
And Jeffrey stayed for dinner and had chocolate chip cookies and then he went home.
