But this one is a jampacked tractor with a double story inside 1/2 the story is about Rosalind and their mother Elizabeth taking Maddie to see the rabbits.

And the other one is about a crazy adventure with Skye and Jane.

Chapter 7 rabbits and a long ladder

in the backyard

Batty

But he was in the backyard, reenacting the scene of the bowl with him, but he seemed disinterested.

As Patty pretended to be Jeffrey fighting the ball she said take that and that with the last that Jeffrey came over.

Hey Betty, Jeffrey said I thought we told Dad that we wouldn't tell anyone about the ball hound doesn't count. Betty said I tell him everything.

OK, he said, scratching the hound behind the ears and giving him some treats that Betty gave him to give to the hound behind his ears so what did you tell your mom and Rosalyn about your wings that you and Jeff that I got stuck in some prickers and you and Jeffrey had to you and sky and Jane had to get me out they fixed them for me they did a good job they have to. That's not good at that kind of thing. We almost lost Mom though, luckily that didn't happen.

Can I tell you a secret sure Jeffrey said to baddie Rosalyn was scared that we thought we'd lose Mom and she would have to become my caretaker. Do we tell you one Jeffrey said, asking her batty knotted. I was really scared of that bull yesterday you don't tell anyone either. OK, I promise Betty said.

Do you know what Jeff Jeffrey Jeffrey asked what bad he asked Caden is inviting me to go see the rabbits this morning? He says that too many people scare the bunnies so Jane and and sky can't come ha ha but Mommy and Roslyn get to come with me.

Sounds like fun what are you gonna do? I don't know Jeffrey said. I might do something with sky and Jane Betty smiled. OK, Betty said I guess that'll be fun too.

I have I hope you have fun seeing the bunnies. He says that his face lit up OK.

Baddie smiled. I really mean it she said Jeffrey nodded.

During this whole time, Jeffrey was inside the gate with Betty Hound as he left, she said sit and say goodbye hound do you hear me hound, just rolled over onto his back with his paws in the air.

Horned baddie bad baddie said hound you hear me you heard me Jeffrey scratched his belly anyway.

Then he left for a moment or his baddie's mother was like get out of the cage, sit and say goodbye hound hound you heard me and left.

Ready to go Elizabeth asked her daughter Betty nodded. Roslyn is almost ready to go. Roslyn was ready. OK let's go said Roslyn. .

meanwhile, at the cottage

After batty left

Jane's guy sat on the porch a flat soccer ball between them, disappointed it sounded fault both sisters whined that their flat ball was flattened because of how chewed on it, deflating it gave them a punctured ball.

Hound. How could you Jane say she wanted a batty pet to count the pens and just looked at them great sky said disappointed now how are we supposed to practice with a punched ball?

Hey, what's wrong? Jeffrey said as he came back over to visit he wasn't here for Patty earlier, but then went back home and then came back. Oh hi Jeffrey, what's with your soccer ball? It has a big hole in it hound chewed it and now it has a big hole in it Jane said now we can't practice because we have a puncher ball.

We can practice with mine if you'd like we just need to go back to my house and get it. Jeffrey said your mother and this is Robinette went to antiquing for the whole last there and we have the whole Home free or she's at a garden club committee meeting and she won't be home for a while yet for an afternoon.

Let's go I can get the ball quick and we can leave before they get back I should be gone all morning, so let us go and that is what they did they left and went to the mansion.

meanwhile, at the carriage house

Patty, her mother, and Roslyn arrived at the door do you like this boy Roslyn blessed with her mother said no not I mean I don't know, or is it Tommy you like Mom you're embarrassing me Rosalyn said.

Mom, you're embarrassing me sorry dear her mother said, but I'm your mother. That's my job.

She ruffled her hair. Rosalyn smiled at her mother's gesture.

Elizabeth knocked on the door. Oh I'm coming said Cagney as she did he came to the door and opened it. Oh, Rosalind, Mrs. Pinder Batty he said to come in and excuse the mess they're hunting out the couch. The shy one is Carla. She's the white one and the chubby one the chubby white one is Carla and Yaz is the gray one be aware that yet that Karen probably won't come to you right away, but yeah, I might.

He laid down with them sticking into fat, not sticking in pieces of parsley at the seeing of the parsley the rabbits came closer. They couldn't see anything at first, cause it was dark under the couch, but eventually, four sets of ears and eyes turned in their direction.

What hop then two hops and yes sniffing at one hand of baddies's hands then Carla came closer next and sniffed her other hand. Oh, she said feeling excited as her wings quivered. What do I do now now Cagney said. They want you to pet them, but not as she petted the rabbits.

It was so much fun.

As they left, they thanked Cagney for visiting to rabbits. Come back anytime when I'm home and if you're if I'm not just slip some carrots through the door, they'll come and eat them through the door. OK, they said they left.

And thanks again, Cagney for letting us visit. You're welcome he smiled as they left.

meanwhile, back at the mansion

Jeffrey took the girls up to his bedroom to get the ball. The mansion was pretty tall with an attic. His room was on the third floor. They had to go up there.

The bedroom looked normal, except for one thing something that the girls would never see in a bedroom, an upright piano.

In the corner, do you play? Jen asked as Jeffrey looked for the ball. He found it and tossed it to Sky who caught it as he dribbled it like a basketball and tossed it like Cagney showed him and tossed it right at Jane sky sat down and played a little, that's lovely. Jane said Jeffrey got up and said OK now let's go wait. I want to hear more. James protested you're so good, Jeffrey.

Do we need to go so we can have time to play soccer he says and they leave before they can leave another familiar voice Jeffrey a woman's high-pitched voice called Jeffrey where are you? I've brought Teddy Teddy Robinette home with me.

The rubber Nance came home with me today who is that? Oh, it's just Mrs. Robinette and her son Teddy. They want me to hang out with him because he's rich and he comes from a rich family.

But he likes to take other people's homework and he bullies others. Maybe I can get lucky and drown him in the Lilypond Jeffrey suggested.

Maybe I can distract him in long enough for you to help come back up and sneak you out Jane and Sky not as they waited.

I'll be right back OK the girls waited for Jeffrey to come back, but he didn't OK? He ain't coming back. It's probably gonna take him a while to get rid of that teddy jerk. Do you think of another way out Jane asked.

As Jane stared out the window maybe we can climb out this window that'll be risky sky said do you know the other way down genius you got a point Jane Sky said.

They climbed out jumped into the tree and got stuck halfway down. Oh great now we're stuck in this tree.

And there's no other way down.

But they're from for their position they saw their mother Patty and Roslyn returning to the cottage, which meant that Cagney was coming back to doing chores. They waved at him as he was pushing a wheelbarrow. Hey sky Jane, what are you doing up in that tree we're stuck can you help us down?

Sky asked sure Caddy said no what are you doing up there visiting we were we were trying to get a new soccer ball because ours was Flat. Jane said.

What is Jeffrey doing now? Has to entertain that Teddy Robinette person Sky said he's hoping to drown Teddy. Oh dear Cagney said maybe you could help Jeffrey with Teddy. I'll see what I can do. He says.

As the girls get down, also install a ladder next time so it'll make it easier for you to and if the person at the top wants to get out, they can do the same sounds great. The girls said as they rushed home.

And I made it home just in time for dinner time.

As they came in, their father was happy to see them, but he was already there Rosalind what took you so long to get home their father asked we were first we were trying to get a soccer ball to play soccer cause Hound flattened our other soccer ball, so Jeffrey offered to buy for us to borrow his ball and then we got distracted by him playing the piano and then his mother called for him and we were stuck in his house for a bitch so we cleaned out the window and got stuck in a tree.

Cat had to come back with a ladder to get us down. I would be stuck in there all night so sky.

The tree broke our fall, said Jane.

OK, all right then how can I speak to you all alone for a moment, or do I want to address something important to all of you? He said yesterday today this morning the farmer who farmer Johnson or whoever he is who has the other boundary caught some kids messing with his bull yesterday, was it you?

Oh, that wasn't us with the bowl said Rosalind.

Please behave yourselves. We are guests here at Arendall and there is so please please be respectful.

Yes, their mother said, be respectful of us being guests here.

We will, Dad Rosalyn said.

I also fed Jeffrey earlier this morning for helping to get the bat out of the prickers, not yesterday but this morning.

All those thorns come to Jane.

After dinner, they all went to bed. It was a long day.

And everyone was tired.

ending here

I'm ending this chapter here. I hope you enjoy rabbits and a long ladder. I thought it was fun and I added some things and changed some things from the last story from the original story cause it's a rewrite, but I hope you enjoyed this chapter and had so much fun .

In the original, the incident about talking about the bull was at the beginning of the story of this chapter so I put it at the end for a change. Let me know if that's really how it happened, but I can't remember exactly so I hope you enjoy this chapter and have a great time and have a good time reading the Pender Wicks a Summer Tell rewritten and originally written by Jean Birdsall let me know if having their mother in the story gives a good depth to the story. It'll change the series if I decide to write the whole series, but I don't know if I will or not. Let me know if you want me to do the whole Pinder Wick series but I'd gladly want to know your pet on this story so far and if you want me to do more rewrites of great stories like this.

I'll see you in the next chapter

Which will be chapter 8. I'll see you in chapter 8 soon

The next chapter will be chapter 8
