Chapter XXXVIII.
Last time.
Nami, and the others glanced out to see Moria talk to Luffys shadow before putting him in Oars. After a moment, Oars started moving, sat up, and yelled. "MMMEEEAATTT!" The air from his yell pushed everyone but Moria back, and pust Nami, and the others out of Bearsy. Absalom, and Perona walked over only for Oars to yell out again. "SANJI BRING FOOD!" Oars looked confused for a moment.
"Who the hell is Sanji?" He asked as Absalom looked to the door not seeing Nami or the others. "They're gone?!"
Outside With Nami, Nojiko, Chopper, and Usopp.
"That hast to be the power of a devil fruit." Usopp said as they ran down the hall. "That must be the guy who took Brooks shadow." He finished coming up to the stairs. Suddenly, a force pushed Chopper, and Usopp who fell on Nojiko down the stairs. "Nojiko, guys!" Nami yelled before feeling someone grab her. Absalom phased in as Nami struggled against him. The others got up, and stared at him.
"Let her go!" Nojiko yelled pulling out her guns, and tried to fire, only for Absalom to push his hand forward, and push her down. Absalom, and Nami disappeared having the others to look around. "Zombies attack, and take them to Moria-sama." Absalom yelled out before zombies came from all around, and attack. "Damn it! Theres no end to them!"
Nojiko shot a couple of zombies as Usopp, and Chopper was surrounded by a group of zombies. "Need help?" Turning around, Nojiko saw Naruto, Robin, and Franky attack zombies, and throw salt in their mouths, having a black substance come out, and float away. "Naruto-kun!" Nojiko exclaimed running over as the last of the zombies were taken care of.
Nojiko told Naruto what happened with Nami, and Moria. "Damn, well the good news is everyone needs to be alive for Moria to use the zombies, and we'll need to focus on getting Nami-chan back." Naruto finished looking at the downed zombies. "Well... Let's go." He finished as they started walking.
Now.
Brook.
Brook was running up the stairs of the tower, coming to the top to an opened door, and seeing Ryuma drinking tea. "Just as I thought.. You were beaten down, but came back again." Ryuma said as he took a sip from his cup. Brook who was panting replied. "Naturally! I'll keep coming back no matter how many times, untiil I get my self back."
Ryuma tapped the ground with his sword. "Don't you know my name? The name that makes everyone shy away, master fencer Ryuma." Brook panted more before yelling out. "You're my shadow, and I'll make you come back to my feet!" Ryuma stood up, and unsheathed his sword showing black blade with a distinct red hamon and its hand-guard has flower-like edges. Its red hamon (hardening line) is Kanemoto style, having the appearance of a saw or sharp teeth.
He started pacing, and talking to Brook. "It'll be like last time.. You'll scream 'not the afro, not the afro'." Brook pointed his sword cane at him. "No! That will not happen this time." He said remembering back to when he first met Ryuma.
(Flashback Five Years Ago.)
Brook stood in front of Ryuma un sheathing his sword. "Finally we meet." They looked at each other for a moment before Brook dashed at Ryuma, who disappeared. Suddenly, the bone around Brooks right eye cracked. Falling down, Brook looked back and saw Ryuma standing where he was. "What is this strength? Is this zombie not mine?" He thought as Ryuma turned around.
Getting up, he charged at Ryuma again but was easily defeated. Ryuma pointed his sword down at Brook. "Don't bother.. No matter how many times you try, the results will be the same." Ryuma moved his sword up a little. "If you want to move faster.. Why don't we cut off that afro?" Brook started waving his hands. "No don't.. Leave the afro alone!"
"If you're my shadow then you should know how important this afro is! because my body has stopped growing, it means it won't grow back." Ryuma scoffed before replying. "So what? I don't remember my days with you." Pulling his sword back, he continued. "Now my masters are Moria-sama, an Absalom-sama!" He brought his sword down as Brook blocked with his.
Getting up they continued to fight, with Brook dodging attacks before jumping in the air. Ryuma followed, and hits Brook down in to the forest. Landing down, he saw only a crater. Brook attacked from behind, but was countered by Ryuma who attacked back, and eventually knocking the sword out of Brooks hand, and pushed him against a tree.
"Wait please.. I'll leave the island." Brook pleaded as Ryuma pulled his sword back. "Leave... It'll be trouble for me if you die." Grabbing his sword, Brook limped out. "I don't want to see that lousy performance again." Ryuma finished walking back to the mansion.
(Flashback End.)
"Say what you want." Brook said taking his sword out, and attacking Ryuma. "For these past five years.. For tis second chance.." Brook continued as Ryuma blocked an attack. "I'VE BECOME STRONGER!" He finished pushing his sword against Ryumas.
Naruto, and the others.
Naruto, Nojiko, Robin, Franky, Chopper, and Usopp were running down stairs outside to get to the Sunny. "I heard this is the staircase they carry the people whose shadow they stolen out." Robin commented as Nojiko nodded. "Yeah we were following after Luffy before we were ambushed, and we still need to find Nami." Naruto nodded before replying. "Yeah but she'll be fine.. We'll need to get to the others first."
Usopp, relizing something turn to the others. "Oh yeah, how did you defeat the zombies?" Franky pulled a small brown bag from his shirt, and explained. "The skeleton gave us this.. It's salt." Usopp nodded before replying. "So we get salt in their mouths, and they'll be purified right?" He asked before Robin spoke up. "We heard something like a beasts roar.. What was it?"
"Yeah what was that? We heard it, and came here." Usopp looked ahead before replying. "That was Luffys voice. We'll tell you everything we saw." Usopp said as they continued to run towards the Sunny.
Absalom, and Nami.
Absalom who was carrying an unconscious Nami over his shoulder, walked in to a room with a small zombie with grey hair, a table in the middle, and two portrait zombies. "Ready for the ceremony?" The zombie asked as Absalom puts Nami on the table. "Yes get her fitted for a dress." Absalom said walking out of the room as the zombie started measuring Nami.
Naruto, and the others.
"So he was bigger then a giant?" Franky asked as Usopp nodded while they ran along the wall leading to the Sunny. "Yes, that sound that sounded like a scream proved that." Looking back to the mansion, Usopp continued. "I bet Luffy's zombie is on a rampage now." Usopp finished as they came up to som stairs. Naruto pointed ahead seeing Sunnys mast.
"There!" Running to the top, they stopped, and looked at the Sunny. "So, they trap you here, then take you to the boss." Frank said as Naruto walked to the edge, and saw a ladder going down to the dock. "I guess this is how they get down." Going down, Usopp dashed to the Sunny, and yelled out. "It's a mess up here!" Nodding Robin spoke up, looking down at the deck. "It's the zombies.. Their footprints are all over."
Walking up, they saw the mess from boxes, barrels, and food from the zombies. "Man, and I thought Luffy was messy." Nojiko commented as they looked around with Chopper yelling for the others. "They must be inside one of the rooms." Robin said stopping Choppers yelling. "Yeah Brook did say that if a person dies, then the zombie with their shadow will also die." Naruto finished walking inside the kitchen.
"Found them!" He yelled with the others running up, and saw everyone inside with the men sitting in chairs, their faces stretched out. After waking them up they explained everything that's happened since they were asleep. "M.. Married?!" Sanji yelled before turning to Naruto, and grabbed him by the collar." Why the hell didn't you go rescue her?"
Naruto slapped his hands away. "I wanted too! But we needed to come here first, the guy's not going to harm her, and I'll kick his ass when we leave." He said before hearing Franky say Brook is trying to get back to Laboon. Everyone but Robins, Narutos, Mais, Emikos, and Thanes eyes widened. "We.. We met Laboon when we entered the Grand Line." Nojiko said after Franky was finished.
Sanji went on to tell the story of them meeting Laboon. "It's an unbelievable story.. They kept their promise after fifty years." Usopp said grinding something in a bowl. Zoro looked up to the mansion before speaking up. "It's hard to believe.. That Laboons nakama. (Friend.).. Is that skeleton." Luffy chuckled before throwing his arms up in the air.
"Alright! Now He'll defiantly have to be apart of our crew. Any objections?" He asked as everyone shook their heads with Naruto, Zoro, and Thane jumping off the ship. "Where are you going?" Luffy asked as the three stopped, with Kitchi behind Naruto, and Tate behind Thane. "We're going to kick some ass." Naruto replied as Zoro looked over. "Yeah, the number of the shadows we need back went up by one."
After everyone jumped down, they started thinking up a plan. "Finding the zombies with our shadows will be a pain in the ass." Zoro commented before Chopper spoke up. "And Luffys zombie is really unbelievable!" Naruto sighed before speaking up. "We don't necessarily need to find the zombies.. Just put salt in as many as we can find, or beat Morias ass."
Thane nodded before speaking up. "That would be wise.. There has to be around nine hundred zombies or just under to fight." Mai jumped on to Narutos back, and nuzzled his cheek. "I'll go with Naruto-kun to find Nami, I'm not sitting back while my nee-chan (Sister.) is in danger." Nojiko nodded, and walked over. "Same here, we'll go and find Nami then meet up with someone else when we're done."
"Alright.. I'll leave Nami to Naruto, and Sanji." Sanji threw his hands up, and yelled. "DAMN RIGHT!" Fire suddenly came from him as he continued going on about beating Absaloms ass. "Oh yeah Sanji.. He also saw Nojiko, and Nami bathe." Usopp commented with Chopper nodding. Sanjis skin turned dark red, and the fire around him increased.
"Don't add fuel to the fire." Zoro commented as Naruto walked over. "Yeah.. I'm the one who'll have to deal with him." Robin walked over as Usopp spoke up. "It's my fault Nami was captured, so I'll go with Naruto, and Sanji... Beside I don't want to see that Shichibukai. (Seven Warlord.) again!" Franky, now holding a cylinder spoke up. "I'm interested in that skeletons fight.. If Straw Hat manage to beat Moria before the fight will be settled." He pulls his sunglasses down before finishing.
"But... If my shadow were taken before, it will be a problem." Zoro, and Thane walked to Franky, Zoro holding Wado, and Thane holding his scythe. "I'll help with that Franky.. Besides, I want to see this legendary samurai." Zoro said with a grin as Thane nodded. "Yeah I want to see if I could find my shadow, and maybe a good fight." Robin chuckled before speaking up.
"Nami-chan is more important.. Then Moria is our main goal" Chopper looked up to her worriedly. "You say that so easily, but our opponent is a Shichibukai. (Seven Warlord.) you know!" Luffy chuckled at that. "So was Crocodile." Chopper gained a tic mark at his attitude. "And he almost killed you!" Naruto sighed before turning to Luffy. "He's right Luffy, Crocodile was perhaps the weakest of the Shichibukai. (Seven Warlord.) don't underestimate Moria."
As they were talking, they never notice Hildon hanging off the sail listening to them. "I need to let the Master know." He said dropping down, and flying to the freezer Moria, and the others where at. Flying in, he explained everything he heard. "What do you mean? There's no way they woke up!" Hogback yelled at him. Hildon waved his hands in front of him franticly. "They were woken up by their nakamas. (Friends.)"
"What the hell is Absalom doing?!" Hogback asked as Hildon started sweating. "He's getting ready for his wedding.. All the General zombies are attending." Hildon replied as Perona laughed. "You can't trust that animal for anything." She said as ghost came out of her hand. "My ghosts will weakened them, then the zombies can carry them here.. I'll be in my room."
She started walking before yelling over her shoulder. "Lets go Bearsy!" Hogback looked to the relaxed Moria. "I would like to ask a favor." Moria raised an eye-brow. "Make me the second in command of Absaloms zombies." Moria shrugged before replying. "Ok take whoever you want."
Luffy, Sanji, Chopper, Usopp, Robin, Nojiko, Emiko, Mai, Kitchi, and Naruto.
"Don't let those ghosts hit you!" Naruto yelled out as ghosts hits Luffy, and Sanji having Chopper in his human form carry Luffy, and Usopp carry Sanji. "Run they're catching up!" Emiko yelled leaving red swirls having the zombies hit them. "Set the sails!" Suddenly, something crashed in to the roof causing the bridge they were on to collapse to the ground.
Nojiko, who was near the edge slipped, and fell. "Nojiko!" Naruto yelled seeing Nojiko lose her balance, and fell. Running over, he jumped own after her, and grabbed her. "Naruto-kun!" Mai opened her umbrella, and floated down. When she got to the bottom, she saw Nojiko on top of Naruto who was on his back, Sanji, and Usopp in the ground upside down, and Thane, Franky, and Zoro staring at a red wall.
"Don't worry about the ones that fell." Zoro said crossing his arms as Franky comb his hair. Naruto lifted his right hand.. And flipped Zoro off. "Screw you too Zoro.. Screw you too." Nojiko got up, and shook her head. "Naruto-kun, are you alright?" Naruto sat up, and nodded. "Yeah... I'm alright Noji-chan." Standing up, he saw Zoro 'poke' the wall with his sword, but instead went a few inches inside.
Nojikos eyes widened seeing the red wall. "T.. Th.. That's the zombie that has Luffys shadow!" Looking up wide-eyed they saw Oars looking down at them with his one eye. He reached down, causing everyone to get ready to fight, but grabbed a broken part of the wall. He puts it on his head. "There that's better." Oars raised his right arm up in the air. "Alright now I'm in a good mood." Walking away he continued talking.
"I'm going to become the rotten Pirate King!" Everyone kept an eye on him until he was out of hearing range. "Did he not notice us?" Usopp asked walking to the edge of the broken bridge. "He talked like Luffy.. And that body paired with Luffys fighting strength, he's bad news." Zoro said sheathing his swords. A few minutes later, everyone but Franky, who was looking at the broken bridge talked on how to get over the gap.
"Just give me thirty seconds." Looking over, they saw Franky finishing a small bridge with over decorated railings. "Went overboard on the railings.. We are stretched for time." Thane said as Tate, and Kitchi ran over the group soon following in to the building, and came up to a room with Perona sitting in the middle, surrounded by ghosts.
"Horororo I thought you'd be the zombies victims by now.. But I didn't think Oars would crash down on the bridge." She said looking over to them. "A big nuisance entered my plan."
Luffy, Chopper, Emiko, and Robin.
"This way!" Chopper in his reindeer form said coming to Morias room. Running inside they saw Hogback, and Cindry standing in the middle of the room. "Hogback!" Jumping, Hogback turned around. "Huh? I thought you would've been taken prisoner already." Robin looked at him for a moment. "So that's Dr. Hogback?" She asked as Luffy realized something. "That's one of the people from earlier."
He started winding his left arm. "Should I beat this guy also?" Emiko, and Chopper shook their heads. "No.. You need your strength for Moria." Emiko replied with Chopper nodding. "Yes, please let me fight him.. Besides, that door." Chopper said pointing to an opened metal door. "That's the freezer, go in!" Nodding Luffy ran to the door as Hogback yelled out. "Cindry-chan stop him."
Cindry threw several plates at Luffy but stopped when Robin create arms around her, and stopped her. "Go on Luffy.. We'll take them." Robin said as Emiko pulled out a pallet, and brush. Luffy ran in as Hogback tried to run after him. "Hogback!" Turning back, Hogback saw Chopper in his hybrid form. "I'm disappointed in you. You're no longer a Doctor in my eyes"
Hogback started laughing. "I didn't recognized you, Doctor Chopper." Chopper just glared at him as he continued. "So you're a Zoan type user.. I thought you were an odd one." Two zombies, one a penguin with a dog's mouth, and a male human holding two swords with a third one on his hip walked up. "Maybe I'll let these two kill you, and I'll make you a zombie."
Choppers eyes widened. "That penguin." He thought recognizing the animal. "That's the zombie with Sanjis shadow." Robin glanced at the male zombie. "And that one must be Zoros.. He has three swords." Emiko commented as the two zombies talked to each other.
Naruto, and the others.
Perona smirked seeing everyone on their knees, or backs with depressed auras around them. "Take them." She ordered her animal zombies, and turned around. "Midareuchi Salt Star. (Random Salt Star)." Turning around, Perona saw several of her zombies fall over shadows coming out of their mouths. Looking up, she saw Usopp standing up holding Kabuto.
"What? Did I miss?" She asked before pointing her hand at him. "No matter, I'll get you this time." A ghost came out of her hand, and flew to Usopp. "Negatibu Horō. (Negative Hollow)." The ghost hits Usopp, who just stumble back but gained his footing. "What?!"
Usopp stared at her. "Your power won't work on me.. I'm already a negative man!" Perona, and her zombies looked on in shock. "How? There shouldn't be anyone who could resist the effects of the Negatibu Horō. (Negative Hollow)." Suddenly she, and her zombies cheered him on for a moment as he told the others to go save Nami, and Brook. "Alright! We'll leave this to you!" They yelled causing him to face plant.
"Yonbai no Negatibu Kōgeki. (Quadruple Negative Attack)." Four ghost came, and hits Usopp at the same time. He stumbled but regained his footing. "Look!" One zombie yelled pointing ahead to the four ghost that had depressed auras around them. "The ghost lost in negativity?!" Perona gained a depressed aura for a moment muttering to Bearsy. "Listen here" Usopp said with his head down.
"Don't think anyone here can... CONQUER ME IN NEGATIVITY!" He yelled out before he started laughing, and backed up. "GET HIM!" Several zombies chased after him only to shallow salt balls. "Hey! You can't do that again to my cute zombies!" Perona yelled out as Usopp shot more salt. "Don't open your mouths!"
Outside the others continued to run. "Who would've thought Usopp's negative attitude would help so much." Nojiko said as the others nodded. "We'll go, and find Nami-chan, you go find Brook." Naruto said as Zoro, Franky, and Thane nodded. They split up, not noticing two shadows following after each groups.
Brook Vs. Ryuma.
Ryuma, and Brook with a crack running from the top of his head, through his right eye, down to his teeth, were attacking each other. Ryuma knocked Brook down, and laughed. "So this is the end.. How about you admit defeat honorably?" Ryuma asked Brook who just panted, before getting up on his knees. "It's like you're a phoenix, or a zombie." Ryuma commented looking at Brook.
"You shouldn't last longer.. I'll paralyze you, and you won't ever get your shadow back." He finished getting in to a stance. "What do you want me to cut off with my Yahazugiri. (Arrow Notch Strike.)?" He asked as Brook glanced up. "You don't know anything... Don't use that name!" He yelled out before continuing. "The fast cutting technique from my Kingdom's Assault Squad I made my own was named Requiem la Bandoul."
"That same technique was praised by my comrades, and nicknamed... Hanauta Sanchou Yahazugiri. (Flower Song: Three Petal Arrow Notch Strike.)" Brook glanced up to Ryuma. "Even if you have my personality, and fighting style.. I won't allow anyone who has forgotton my memories, and feelings to use that name!" Ryuma chuckled, and gripped his sword harder.
"If you are sure you're the real thing, then cut my 'fakes'." Getting up, Brook walked over, and Ryuma did the same. They passed each other with Ryuma seathing his sword. "Hanauta Sanchou Yahazugiri. (Flower Song: Three Petal Arrow Notch Strike.)" Brook dropped his sword, and fell to his back. Ryuma walked over, picked Brook up by his afro, and pulled his sword up to it.
Suddenly the room shook, causing Ryuma to let brook slid in to the stairs. "Found him!" Franky ran over, and lifted Brooks head. "Hey you're still alive right?!" Ryuma walked over, and tried to attack, only to be blocked by Zoro. "You're the legendary samurai who sliced a dragon right?" Zoro asked grinning at Ryuma. "I wanted to meet you."
Ryuma dashed back as the others looked on. "Amazing.. Who's he?" Brook asked as Franky explained. "He's a Santoryu master pirate swordsman.. If your pride allows it, will you let him get your shadow back?" Brook lifted his head, and spoke to Zoro. "Somehow I beg you.. Get my sha..." He was interrupted by Zoro. "SHUT THE HELL UP!" He turned to Ryuma, and noticed his sword.
"Your katana's quite the feat." Ryuma chuckled, and showed off is sword. "You have a good eye.. This is indeed one of the twenty-one great swords." Moving it a little, he continued. "It's T-shape and black, the Meitou, Shusui. (Named Sword: Clear Autumn Water)." He chuckled before finishing. "It's a sword not seen by many."
"So it's a great sword?" Zoro asked before continuing. "I've come crossed a good thing.. I expect you to have a good blade with you being called a samurai." He suddenly grinned. "Alright.. I'm going to use that katana." He finished as Brook yelled. "You're so cool!"
Absalom, and Nami.
In a room that looked like a church Absalom looked to the zombie in front of him for a moment after telling him the news. "They were defeated?!" Absalom asked the zombie as anther held an unconcious Nami in a weddings dress. "I thought Oars was on our..." He stopped seeing Naruto grab the zombie, and puts salt in his mouth. "Nami!" Nojiko yelled doing the same to the zombie holding Nami, catching Nami as she fell.
"Who the hell do you think you are.." Absalom was interrupted being kicked into the wall by Sanji as Naruto picked Nami up, and sat down on the pew. Nami seemed to snuggle him when they sat down. "I would kick your ass if Sanji didn't call dibs." Naruto said as Absalom got up, and stared at Sanji Who seemed to be on fire.

Ok sorry about the late update I need to watch a bunch of episodes before typing. Also there is a new poll up. 'Should Naruto go to Amazon Lilly, and help out with the Marinefold War?' There are THREE choices 1. Yes he should go. 2 Yes he should go, and add Boa Hancock to the harem. and Three No just skip Amazon Lilly, Impell Down, and Marinefold, and send Naruto somewhere else. I'm only doing the poll for two reasons.
1. People have asked to add Boa, and I'll need to send Naruto there to do it.
2. I'll be putting this story on short hiatus when I get done with the Fishmen Island arc to let the manga/anime get father ahead. For the anime at least 50+ episodes ahead, and If no wins that's close to 100, 100+ episode I won't do since it'll stay canon, and I'll get to the hiatus sooner.
The poll will stay up until I get to the episode/chapter before they get split up. So make sure to vote on my PROFILE So I won't forget your vote. Also for my first O.C. arc after this one. I'll try to make it at least three-four chapters, and any help/ideas is greatly appreciated. And I won't do the canon S.H.C. island adventure where they went after getting seperated. (Nami, Robin, Chopper.) But I'll do one for the others, and Naruto if No wins. So any ideas/plots for them will also be greatly appreciated.
Also SOPA seems to be back, or at least someone is trying to bring it back. There are two petition for it. The fist one whitehouse .gov/petition/stop-sopa-2014/q0Vkk0Zr has reached its goal.
The second petitions .whitehouse .gov/petition/stop-sopa-policies-trans-pacific-partnership-notice-and-staydown-efforts-and-other-policies/dXMRvNh8 Has until April 13 to reach 100,000 signatures and now it's at 5,378 so sign, and or pass on.
