A/N: I'm sorry for the short chapter. I just wanted to let everyone know this story is in the process of being beta'd. I'll still upload new chapters to let you know what chapters has been beta'd so far as I don't want to stop uploading/just put up an A/N if I do have an A/N in mind to explain why updating's been slow.. I'll have a chapter with it.. Even if it's a short one like this one.
Chapter XLIII.
Last Time.
"Naruto! Come on out! There's Bounty Hunters out here!" Naruto was jolted from his day-dream as Nojiko yelled fro au top. He jumped off of the bed, and ran up to see another ship with black sails, and a crew of men, and women. A man with fair skin, and long black hair pulled in to a pony tail pulled out a flintlock, and aimed it at Nojiko.
BANG!
Only to fall down as she quickly pulled hers out, and the S.H.C. each got ready for a fight.
Night Time, Sunny.
After dealing with the Bounty Hunters, everyone was laughing as they ate with Brook singing Binks' Sake. Mai looked over to Naruto who was quietly drinking. "Naruto-kun.. You've been quiet today.. Anything wrong?" Naruto shook his head before smiling softly. "No nothing's wrong Mai-chan."
Kitchi jumped in his lap, and Naruto rubbed his head. "Are you sure?" She asked again, and he nodded. "Yes.. I'm fine." He replied giving her a kiss." He picked his plate up, took it to the sink, walked out side, and leaned on the railing. "Berry for your thoughts?" Naruto turned, and saw Robin wearing a coat that's opened showing a beige sleeveless top with straps on it, with the top two lossened to show her cleaveage.
She's also wearing pants that's opened on the sides with an 'X' pattern, and a purple sash around her waist. "I'm fi.." He stopped as she crossed her arms making him sigh. "Ok.. It's Kaito... He's one of the Marines that led my parents to their death." He explained getting her to widen her eyes.
"I didn't want to say anything untill we got to the island, and he's still there.. I didn't want to get them worked up for nothing if he wasn't there.. Or get any other Mareines after us if we can relax... To bad we can't find a Spa Island or something." He said before she walked over, and wrapped her arms around him. He smiled before leaning his head on her shoulder.
"I can't belive I'm shorter than you.. I know it's only two inches, but It feels weird having to put my head on your shoulder instead of the top of your head." Robin chuckled before kissing his cheek. "Yeah I know.. How about I make it up to you?" She asked walking back swaying her hips. He looked over his shoulder, and saw Aki Island before walking after Robin.
Now.
(A/N: I'm putting the Brook trying to help everyone filler episode 384 as the beginning for this chapter to help make it at least a 3k chapter.)
The Sunny Early Morning.
Brook hummed as he steered the Sunny as the sun was starting to come up. "It sure is a calm night isn't it?" He asked no one as he stared ahead. "I've been on watch tonight, but it has been completely calm." He continued before sighing. "But steering is completely meaningless... This is what I call 'Breaking a bone for no reason'."
"And I am just bone~ Yohohoho." He laughed quietly as not to wake anyone up. "I am so board." He gripped the wheel harder before remembering talking to Laboon earlier on the Den-Den Mushi. "They are good people... But that's not all I found something amazing during the day." He started thinking about finding a journal of the S.H.C.s adventures that Nami kept.
"But as long as I have become their comrade, I must act accordingly." The sun came up, and Brook yelled as he picked his violin up. "Good morning everyone!" He started playing much to the annoyance of everyone. "Then! A morning piece!" Everyone yelled for him to shut up. "Shut up! The sun's not even out yet!"
A Few Hours Later, Naruto, And The Girls Room.
Naruto groaned as sunlight hits him in the eyes. He felt movement on his chest, and looked down. He smiled seeing the messy, and slighty sweaty black hair of Robin before moving out from under her. He streatched before putting on boxers, and his black cargo pants. He looked around, only to see the Nami, Nojiko, and Mai aren't in the room.
"I wonder where they ar.." He stopped as the door to his left opened showing Nojiko stretching in her pajamas. "Morning Naruto-kun." She greeted with a smile. "Morning Noji-chan." He greeted walking over, and giving her a kiss. "Why didn't you sleep in here?" Nojiko looked to the still sleeping Robin before answering.
"We're not comfortable with each other to be in the same room as one of us is..." She trailed off as Naruto blushed. "But.. If last night was anything to go by.. You won't have any trouble handling us at once."
Later, Kitchen.
The S.H.C. were eating before Frankie spoke up. "Well Miss Navigator.. What should we do? If we use the paddles we can escape this calm water." Nami put her fork down before replying. "Based on the weather, I would say it should only stay calm for today." Brook looked back, and forth as they continued to talk. As everyone continued to talk, Brook let out a small laugh every now, and then.
"What's wrong Brook? You've been freaking out since this morning." Zoro said taking a bite of his ham. "Did you see something interesting? Luffy asked mouth full of meat. "He found our Voyage Journal early this morning." Chopper explained as Brook nodded. "Yes! I just happened to come across it." Brook said as everyone stared at him.
"Truthfully, I was shocked.. My excitement from the Thriller Bark incident had yet to subside." He continued with his hands on his lap. He went on to explain reading about all the adventures they had in the book. "It was so surprising I thought my heary would pop out of my chest.. But I don't have a heart. Yohohoho."
"But from here on out.. What will we write now?" Nami asked leaning her head on her hand. "Brook will be added to the Voyage Jounal too, right?" Chopper asked smiling before Brook slammed his hands on the table. "That's right!" He yelled out before continuing. "Since I became your comrade, I don't feel like I have been of any help."
"Let me give you a piece of advice then. "Nojiko said smiling as Brook nodded. "Never let your guard down during a meal." Brook suddenly went in to a defensive position before Luffy stole his food. "Wait Luffy!" Brook yelled slipping as he tried to get his food. "I got it I shall work myself to the bone to become your crewmate.. Although was bone to start with."
Later, Brook was washing he dishes as Sanji was pouring tea, and Mai mopped the floor. "Ok.. Since you're handling the dishes.. I can prepare tea for Nami-chan." Sanji said putting the cut, and pot on a tray. "I'm really looking forward to helping everyone when the time comes." Brook said looking at him. "But first I'd like to help out with the smallest things."
Sanji walked past him before Brook picked a big pile of plates. "Sanji-san.. Where should I put these?" Sanji looked back, and pointed to the counter. "Over there..." He stopped as Brook slipped, and lost his balance. "If you drop those I'll kill you!" Sanji yelled running over to Brook. "I'm already dead!" Sanji handed Brook the tray before grabbing the plates using his arm, hand mouth, and one leg."
"Guess I'll tak Nami the tea in your place." Brook said as he, and Mai left leaving Sanji to fume. As he walked outside, he saw Zoro training with huge weights with Naruto. He knocked on the door before entering. "May I see your panties?" Nami threw a book at him, and glared. "Hell No!" She yelled before turning back to her map.
"So Nami.. Your dream is to make a map of the world right?" Brook asked making her nod. "Yes.. With my navigational skills.. I will travel the Oceans of the world, and draw a map of the world I saw with my own eyes." Brook nodded at her before speaking. "How superb. If there's anything I can help with feel free to ask me."
"Woul you like a refill?" He asked as she handed him her cup. "Thank you." Brook poured her more tea before over pouring it, having it run on his hand. "AAHH!" He screamed as she stood up. "Are you alright?" He hook his head at her holding his hand. "No.. I almost burned my finger. Wait.. I don't have any skin to burn. Yohohoho."
"Ah! The map!" Nami screamed seeing tea on her new map. Brook scrambled as he tried to clean the map, only to smudge it. "THAT IS WRONG IDIOT!" Brook ran out ass Naruto walked past the door. He walked in to see Nami scramble on a map. "Nami-chan.. You alright?" He asked seeing her work. "I'm fine Naruto-kun." She replied not looking up.
"Nami.. You've worked all morning.." He said closing the door behind him. "Why don't you take a break?" She shook her head, and continued. "No I got to.." She stopped as Naruto grabbed her hand. "Listen.. You have a good memory, take a break." He bent down to give her a kiss making her drop her pen.
Outside, Brook was talking to Robin, who was watering the plants. "Brook.. Why are yu so unsettled?" She asked him making him stiffen. "It seems like you're afraid of something." She continued making him look down. He sighed before explaining he's afraid that if he's not useful, he'll be kicked off the Sunny.
"I was insecure..." Robin said making Brook look up to her. "I was always afraid that I wasn't suitable to be one of their comrades." She continued remembering Ennis Lobby. "I thought giving my life would make me suitable to be their comrade.." She sighed before turning to him. "But, that was my mistake. True comrades aren't like that." She finished before walking away.
"I am sure you'll be fine too." Suddenly, Luffy jumped up beside him, and smiled. "Brook Food! Food!" Brook looked down at him as he continued. "Sanji put his cooking skills on the line, and made a huge meal from the sea ingredients he harvested." He turned to run, but was stopped by Brook. "What? Come on."
"Am I really good enough?" Brook asked making Luffy look at him in confusion. "Is it ok that I joined the Straw Hat Crew?" Luffy shrugged before answering. "Yeah." Brook started flailing around. "That was too easy! But... But..." Luffy smiled before turning around. "I decided it, so you'll be fine.. Forget about that, it's time for food! Everyone is waiting."
Next Day, Dusk.
Brook started playing a slow melody on his violin as everyone stopped what they were doing to listen. "This short time we have now is without a doubt just a break that will lead into our next adventure." Brook thought as he continued to play. "Yes. Time to rest one's bones." He looked up to the sky, and thought of Laboon. "The next time we talk, I'll have more stories to tell you Laboon."
Suddenly, the wind picked up, and the others walked up on the deck. "The wind is back." Franky said as Thane walked over, and wiped his forehead." Good.. We need to get more supplies." Naruto walked over with Kitchi, and Tate running round him playing. "Yeah I was starting to get restless sitting around here." He said as Luffy walked over holding a fishing pole. "Everyone! it's about time we get going!"
"I too will work myself to the bone, and put my body on the line!" Brook said before realizing something. "Although.. As a skeleton, I don't have a body."
Two Days Later, Aki Island.
Naruto felt a drop of rain hit him before looking up. "Of course." He said as it started to lightly rain. He looked ahead, and saw Aki Island with trees with different color leaves on them, and several with brown leaves. "Guys we're here!" He yelled as everyone with rain coats ran out, and saw the island. "Cool.." Luffy said jumping on the figurehead smiling.
Naruto pulled up to the docks, and they let out a rope wich Zoro wrapped around the dock, and looked up to them. "She isn't going anywhere now." He said as everyone jumped down. "Good.. I'm going to find the blacksmith to see if I can get any supplies." Thane said as he, and Tate walked away. "I'm going to find the food market." Mai said walking with Sanji following after her.
"Well I guess I go find a hotel." Naruto said walking with his hands in his pockets before stopping, and looked to his right. "What's wrong Naruto-kun?" Nojiko asked as she, Emiko, Nami, Robin, and Kitchi walked up to him. "Nothing Noji-chan.. I thought I felt someone watching me." As they walked away, a person in a black cloak walked out from behind a tree. The person smiled before disappearing as leaves flew past him.
Naruto, And The Girls.
Naruto walked inside a hotel, and saw a woman with long blonde hair, and blue eyes at the counter. "Hi we need rooms for thirteen, and two pets." Naruto said as the woman nodded. "Ok how many to a room." Nami walked up, and smiled. "At least two, or three to a room if not more." The woman nodded before Robin spoke up. "I was wondering.. How do you grow crops here?"
"Well we have greenhouse since it rains three days a week here.. And we also import things from the surrounding islands for anything important." She explained having her nod before following after the others up to the rooms.
Unknown Location.
The cloaked man walked in a bar were several people sat drinking, and eating before walking up to the counter were another man who's in the shadows drank from the bottle. "I saw Maelstrom here with the Straw Hats." The man puts the bottle down, and smiled. "Well... It just got a lot more fun here." He said grinning before laughing.
