Chapter LXIX.
Last Time.
Wanda, Carrot, And Luffy.
Wanda explains to Luffy that the country was destroyed by a pirate named Jack who was under orders from the Yonko (Emperor.) Kaido to get Raizo. Having both her and Carrot emotionally remember the bloodshed that occurred not too long ago.
Suddenly, the ground begins shaking, and the minks prepare for something.
"Rain-Ruption!"
"Climb a tree!"
"Get on Warney! I'll take you to Rightflank! Your friends are there!" Wanda tells Luffy to get onto Warney.
"Great! So Sanji and the others are there!" Luffy exclaims, excited to see Sanji and the others. However, Wanda fails to affirm his statement, and Luffy looks to her.
"What's wrong?! They're all there, aren't they?!" He asked Wanda who remained silent.
Now.
Wanda, Carrot, And Luffy.
"Go, Warney!" Wanda said to her alligator as the ground shook.
Warney then ran as Luffy looked to see the trunk of the elephant they're on raise up and spray water down on its back.
"Wow! Shogui! (Cool!)"Bepo yelled as he and his crew mates got up in the trees.
"Hang on tight!" Wanda yelled as the water level rose high above their heads.
And had Luffy fall off in the rapids. Carrot Jumped over to him and swung on a vine before getting to him just as a shark came out and opened its mouth.
"Look out!" She yelled before landing on a small dry part of the ground.
"Are you okay, Straw-Hat?" She asked the panting pirate.
"You saved me… Thanks!"
They got back to Wanda as Warney swims through the flood, and Wanda explains to Luffy that Zunisha, the elephant washes itself twice a day by spraying water on its back. And the minks took advantage of this by building aqueduct systems to get drinking water, as well as catching fish to eat.
Bepo then arrives by swinging through the trees, and looks down at the trio.
"Hey, Straw-Hat!"
"Oh, the bear!" Luffy said looking as Bepo swung on the limbs.
"I can't leave the forest so can you tell our captain about us and bring him here?!"
"Oh, you can't? Okay!" Luffy replied as they continued down the created river.
"I'm counting on you!"
"Bepo was born here but since he's a pirate, He's now under the care of Master Cat Viper, the oyabun (Boss) of the forest." Carrot explained to Luffy.
S.H.C.
The Crew got on a building as Naruto held onto his wife and climbed up to the roof. He looked to see Usopp had climbed higher on a tower that was also on the building as Robin came to the conclusion that the elephant must have washed its back and the town was set up to adept to the water when it came.
Usopp used his goggles and saw Luffy was with Carrot and Wanda.
"Oi! (Hey!) There's Luffy! At the edge of the town! He's with Nami-dog girl and the jump rabbit from before! AAH! Luffy's been eaten a little!"
"So they're..."
"A cannibal tribe!" Robin said as the others looked up at Usopp. Naruto sighing pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Even if that's true, I doubt Luffy would get taken like that. He does have Haki."
Up with Luffy and the Minks, Luffy asks about Jack, the pirate who attacked Zou.
Wanda explains that she read his obituary in the newspaper a few days ago. He had attacked four Marine ships transporting Donquixote Doflamingo, and managed to sink two of them, but was ultimately brought down. However, his death could not be confirmed, and Wanda thinks he is still alive.
As the floodwaters finally drain away, Wanda decides to take a shortcut as Warney picks up its speed. As Luffy expresses excitement at exploring Zou, Law suddenly teleports himself and the Straw Hats right in front of Warney.
"It's you-teia! Well we're here now, look over through the fog carefully."
Naruto looked at the fog that blanketed the area and saw a large tunnel guarded by two Minks.
"The Straw-Hat Pirates have arrived." Wanda said surprising the two minks.
Inside, Nami, Olive, Mai, and Emiko are sleeping on a large sheep mink.
Nami is wearing a fancy purple dress covered in fancy pearls and her hair is loose.
Olive is wearing red bikini jean shorts, black top and one of Naruto's coats with her cowboy hat.
Mai is wearing white jeans with a black belt and a lemon belt buckle and a black shirt with lemons decorating it.
Emiko is wearing black shorts and a pink shirt.
The mink is a large male sheep mink with fluffy, light-colored fur. He has narrow eyes, thick lips, and black skin. He has sheep hooves, horns, and a tail, and a pair of dark-colored pants.
This is Yomo, one of the Musketeers.
"Nami! Emiko! Mai! Olive!"
Chopper then ran in. He's wearing his hat with a crown on top. He has no shirt and has a long open coat with fur and fancy jewelry attached.
"Luffy and the others are finally here!"
Outside, Tate and Kitchi ran out of the tunnel first as the others followed
"Garchu!"
The Minks inside yelled as the Crew looked around seeing ships used as houses as well as large pineapples.
As Naruto looked around, he was tackled by Olive, pushing his head in her sizable cleavage before Mai held him from behind.
"HMMPH-MMPH!" Naruto yelled into Olive's chest before breaking away to see her smiling face. "What was that for?" He asked before she leaned to kiss his nose. "What was that?"
"We talked with Boa, Nojiko, and Robin… Olive is now apart of our group." Mai said getting Naruto to blink.
"First Violet and Rebecca. Now Olive. Are you pimping me out?"
"Just adding on because we can't keep up with your stamina now that Boa, Violet and Rebecca isn't here. Plus if Olive like you then it's fine by us."
"(Sigh.) OK." Naruto said as Olive leaned against his chest, grabbed his hands, and puts them on her ass.
"Finally." She said with a blissful sigh.
Naruto rolled his eyes but didn't move his hands before seeing Nami hugging Luffy and crying. "What's wrong?" Naruto asked before Nami spoke up.
"Sanji-kun is…!"
Later, they went in one of the houses to eat and party, Tate and Kitchi playing with some of the smaller minks as Thane and Zoro tried to drink over the minks over-friendliness.
"Why did you welcome us like this?" Usopp asked Carrot.
"Because you-teia are our saviors friends."
Right then, Brook runs into the fortress, wearing very tattered clothes.
"E-Everybody!"
"Brook!"
Brook greets his crew mates, apologizing to Luffy about Sanji.
"Aren't you supposed to be with Momo?" Usopp asks about Momonosuke.
Brook's expression changes as he reveals that Momonosuke does not seem to like the minks and so is hiding in his room. He tells them to avoid mentioning the words "samurai" and "Wano Country", because doing so could offend and anger many of the people here.
However, as Brook reveals the reason behind it, a group of canine minks enter the fortress and drool as they stare in obsession at Brook.
"Baron Corpse!"
"Damn." Thane said as Brook cried as he avoided being chewed on.
"I guess he must have been who Wanda meant when she said corpse of our friend." Nojiko said crossing her arms under her bust.
As the canine minks bite and gnaw on Brook, Chopper asks Luffy where Law is, and Luffy reveals that he went to reunite with his crew mates in the Whale Forest.
"What should we do about Sanji-kun?" Nami asked as she sat on Naruto's lap.
Luffy and Zoro are not particularly concerned about him since he left a note and did not seem to be kidnapped. However, Nami and Chopper are still worried about him because his departure did not seem right. Franky then interrupts, telling Nami and Chopper that he and the others have no idea what has really happened since the Sunny crew left Dressrosa 11 days ago.
The others concur, and Nami agrees to tell them what happened, starting with them being chased by the Big Mom Pirates.
After Sanji got permission from Luffy to fight back, and he began a counterattack with the others and attacked Big Mom's ship. And that after getting away, arrived in Zou the next day as the elephant was nearby.
"The earliest signs of damage in Kurau City were from just over two weeks ago." Robin states before Wanda reveals that by 10 days ago, Zou had mostly been destroyed.
suddenly a sloth mink arrives at the fortress.
"Duke Inuarashi has woken from his coma!"
The minks then celebrate and Wanda sheds tears of joy.
Chopper and two minks run to Inuarashi's location to tend to him, and the sloth mink tells Wanda that Inuarashi has requested an audience with the Straw Hats.
"Who's Dogstrom?"Luffy asked Wanda.
She then explains that he is the ruler of the Mokomo Dukedom. And he had fallen into a coma ever since the dukedom was destroyed along with Nekomamushi, his fellow ruler. She explained the two ruled the dukedom together, with Inuarashi being the Ruler of Day and Nekomamushi being the Ruler of Night.
Later, Wanda takes the Straw Hats to see Duke Inuarashi through a passage in the Rightflank Fortress. The Straw Hats gaze in awe at the plants on the ceiling that provide light, and then realize that Luffy is missing.
"We should be used to this by now." Naruto said pinching the bridge of his nose.
They find Luffy sitting on a tree outside the passageway eating grapes, and continue to be impressed by the beautiful scenery in the Rightflank Fortress.
"Get back here!" Nojiko yelled at her captain as he drank the grapes before stretching over to the tunnel.
As they continued, Wanda then reveals that the minks do not usually live in the fortress, but in Kurau City, which used to be intact and full of life. And Minks of all shapes and sizes had friendly interactions with each other as they lived normal lives.
However, the city was leveled just over two weeks ago, the people of Kurau City heard a bell ringing, but soon realized that it was the Raid Bell, which they had rarely heard before. At the gate to the Mokomo Dukedom, where Kaido's forces then bursts through the gates and started attacking.
The pirates revealed that they were looking for a samurai from Wano Country, Raizo, but the minks claimed that they neither knew Raizo, nor his location.
The minks then responded to talk about him peacefully only for the leader, Jack to destroy everything in his path forcing the minks to attack in self defense.
the Straw Hats are all shocked by the story as they got on a suspension bridge that Luffy starts to rock for fun.
"Luffy!" Nojiko yelled out as Naruto was going to, but stopped, looking at his wives bouncing chests and wiped blood from his nose.
"Let's keep going. Well get to Duke-sama's sanatorium soon." Wanda said before they continued on.
"The ninja Kin'emon was talking about isn't here, what a letdown!" Luffy said before Nami, Olive, Brook, Usopp and Mai him as Wanda froze when her ears perked up.
"By 'ninja,' do you mean a warrior from the Land of Wano?" Wanda asked as she stared at Luffy getting attacked by his crew mates.
Brook said that Luffy said Kanja (Patient) instead getting the dog mink to nod at the Crew's worry over their leader before taking them across the rest of the bridge.
At the sanatorium entrance, a lion mink is throwing other minks into a pit for mentioning sweet things around him.
The lion mink has a curly red mane that falls down to his chest, a long and curly tail, and a swirly black handlebar mustache. He's wearing a purple cape and a large black hat with a feathery pink plume over an olive colored dress shirt bound with a bandolier, black pants held up by a thick red belt, brown boots with puffy furred pink rims, and purple gloves.
This is Sicilian the captain of the Inuarashi Musketeer Squad, as well as one of the Three Inuarashi Musketeers leading the squad.
"Generosity! Love! Romance! Babies! Sugar! Honey!" Sicilian yelled out with his fists pumped out. "Don't ever talk about sweet stuff in my presence! Or I'll bite out your windpipe! Now climb up without any help!"
The minks are in awe at Sicilian's intensity but are grateful for his tough love and generosity.
Wanda then introduces the Straw Hats to them. Sicilian immediately bows down with high intensity.
"Arigato! (Thank You!) for saving my country!" And thanks the Straw Hats for saving his country. "Who's your-gara captain?!"
"I am."
After Luffy steps forward, Sicilian hugs him with great force and displays intense gratitude, rubbing against Luffy's face so fast it starts to burn.
"The Duke is expecting you! You can go in! Hurry up!"
Once inside, they saw Chopper with the two minks.
The first is a male goat mink with a thickset body covered in light-colored hair. He has two pointed horns on the top of his head and a long beard, and is wearing a white doctor's jacket, black pants, and black boots.
This is Miyagi, a doctor helping Chopper.
The next mink is a light blue-haired squirrel mink with tan fur, a dark patch on her forehead down to her nose, and a large bushy brown tail with two dark stripes down the center.
She's wearing a nurse's uniform that is a light-pink mini dress and a light-pink cap with a cross on it.
This is Tristan, a nurse mink also helping Chopper.
The Crew stare in awe at the very large dog mink they're tending covered in bandages.
He is an incredibly large and grizzled canine mink, standing at about twice the height of Zoro. He wearing a small pair of blue sunglasses and has shoulder-length black ears, a white beard, and a large and bushy tail and is wearing a king-like robe and missing his left leg from the thigh down.
This is Duke Inuarashi one of the two rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom, dubbed the 'Ruler of Day'.
"Duke-sama! I'm glad you're okay!" Wanda said hugging her leader.
"Wanda, I'm sorry to make you worry." Duke said as he was sipping on a glass of tea. "So you-gara are the Straw Hats?"
"Hai! (Yes!)
"You saved us in every way. Arigato (Thank You.) very much."
"I heard my crew saved your people but I haven't heard the whole story yet." Luffy said as Duke looked down.
"Well, you-gara and the rest saved us too, Straw Hat Luffy-kun."
"Anyways, I bet you're strong! I mean, really strong!"
"What?! That's rude! Duke-sama is the mightiest warrior in the country!" Wanda said to Luffy.
"Oi. (Hey,) stop. That's not what you call a loser." Duke said after Wanda.
"You're not a loser! The enemies were surely troublesome but we had the upper hand!" Wanda said looking up and stopped as she saw the look in her leaders eyes.
And saw he was looking at a very scared Brook while drooling.
"Let's not dwell on the past. That straw hat looks good on you-gara." Duke said looking to Luffy. "I was once… Oh, I can't remember who it was! That cat..."
"Master Cat Viper."
"I was once traveling across the seas with that one." Duke continued. "Shanks is one of the Yonko (Four Emperors.) now was wearing that kind of hat then."
"Nani?! (What?!) Oji-san, (Old man,) you know Shanks?! How?!" Luffy asked holding his hat. "I got this hat from him, and..." Luffy trailed off as Duke fell asleep. "He fell asleep!"
"It's already six o'clock."
Wanda explains that the two rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, hates each other so much that they would easily fight should they encounter each other. Thus, each ruler takes turns ruling, with Inuarashi ruling from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM while Nekomamushi rules during the other 12 hours.
Everyone in Inuarashi's domain is asleep, including Miyagi, Tristan, and Sicilian.
Wanda then reveals that the ruler switch took place even in the intense battle with Jack 17 days ago. And that during the battle, Inuarashi arrived on a crocodile-boar steed and told Jack to stop the attack as the two leaders confronted each other.
Duke then started pleading for them to stop their senseless attack. The Beasts Pirates refused to stop until they found Raizo, despite the minks' continued pleas that they did not know him.
She continued explaining the battle raged on, with the minks using Electro and the Gifters using their animal powers to attack each other. Inuarashi and Jack fought each other one-on-one.
Wanda continued on that it got more intense from there. Inuarashi and Jack continued their clash, with Jack overpowering the Duke. As the battle continued, Zunisha lifted up its trunk as an Eruption Rain began; the sudden deluge of water swept away the Beasts Pirates, although Jack stood strong and could not be moved.
She explained that when it got to 6:00 PM, a loud cry came out from the Whale Forest. Inuarashi ordered his troops to retreat, saying that the shift system would still be in place despite the ongoing battle. As they left, the other leader and the nocturne minks then started to attack Jack.
Wanda continues telling the Straw Hats about the Mink Tribe's battle with Jack, revealing that it lasted five days. However, they could not overwhelm Jack himself, although Jack was equally unable to take down Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, which resulted in him growing impatient and ending the battle with a poisonous gas weapon.
"Nani? (What?)" Naruto asked in disbelief that Jack would wipe out countless minks to get to someone.
"It was one of Caesar's gas weapons." Chopper said getting the Crew to look down at that.
"Caesar made the gas, Doflamingo distributed it and it got to Kaido." Robin explained, hand on her chin.
Wanda continues, revealing that the Guardians were also subdued and attacked. However, the pirates were still getting no answer, so they crucified and tortured the strongest mink warriors, including Inuarashi and Nekomamushi.
They continued interrogating the minks about the samurai, and the determined Inuarashi and Nekomamushi continued denying any knowledge of one, causing a wrathful Jack to attack both of them. The torture lasted for a full day before Jack departed from Zou, leaving behind some of his men.
"That saved us too." Inuarashi said, and the pirates are surprised that he is awake. "I noticed that when I read Jack's obituary and realized that he had tried to rescue Doflamingo."
He then showed them the page with Jack's picture.
Jack is a man of massive stature. His limbs are disproportionately small when compared to his enormous torso. He's wearing a metallic jaw mask, and has a pair of horns on each side of his head. His blond hair is worn in a ponytail and a pair of long braids. He's wearing a dark, sleeveless, feathery coat similar to Kaido with spiked pauldrons on his shoulders, circled by a belt bearing his crew's Jolly Roger.
He has bloodshot orange eyes and a veiny forehead. He has two piercings in his right ear,. He has a pair of tusks around his neck. And he has pointed teeth.
'JACK DIES!
The PROMINENT MEMBER OF THE BEASTS PIRATES
'JACK THE DROUGHT'
$1,000,000,000'
"Holy shit! One billion Berries?!" Thane asked looking at the high reward for Jack.
Duke explained Jack went to save Doflamingo and that actually saved them before falling asleep again.
Chopper then reveals that he, Sanji, Nami, Brook, Momonosuke, and Caesar arrived on Zou the day after Jack left. They were all bewildered that Zou was located on an elephant, and Caesar tried convincing them not to enter, but they forced him to carry them up there like a hot air balloon. They went through the destroyed gate, and surveyed the heavily damaged Mokomo Dukedom, with the possibility of invaders putting them on edge.
Sanji left Nami, Brook, and Momonosuke at the gate as he took Chopper and Caesar on ahead. As Sanji, Chopper, and Caesar surveyed the land ahead, Brook, Nami, and Momonosuke pondered about what happened to the country.
And then helped Tristan from being attacked by Sheepshead and Gin-Rummy as Chopper and the others helped to treat the wounded.
