The green bike front-flipped up and used its katanas to slice up the rock monster that had ambushed them.
Lesovikk nodded in approval, "Nice moves. By the way, I don't think I got your name."
"It's Swamp," the green bike introduced. "Now, let's keep going."
After trekking further through the "Onyx Environment" as Swamp had called it, Lesovikk was treated to a stunning sight. The city the green bike had led him too was as advanced as Metru Nui, perhaps even more so. Even more stunning was how all the inhabitants were vehicles. Most of them were bikes, but he could spot an occasional drone or little jeep here and there.
"Welcome to town. I hope you don't mind I called in my friends while we were heading here," Swamp stated.
As if on cue, five more bikes gathered in front of the green duo, each one a different color and wielding different weapons.
"Everyone, this is Lesovikk. I came across him in the Swamp Environment," Swamp explained. "And Lesovikk, this is Lava, Frost, Onyx, Dust, and Power."
"I'll try to remember that," Lesovikk nodded.
"What is this guy?" the white bike, presumably Frost asked.
A bit tired of skirting around it, Lesovikk sighed and used his former title, "I'm a being referred to as a Toa. I control the element of air, and I look strange because I'm from another dimension."
"Another dimension?" the yellow bike repeated, "Then that means no enemy would ever expect you."
"What enemy?" Lesovikk asked.
Swamp answered, "Our world is being ravaged by a virus. We've been trying to track it down to destroy it, but every time we think we're getting somewhere, the Boss shows up and attacks us."
Naturally, this made the Toa ask, "And what is 'the Boss?'"
The red bike, likely Lava, projected a hologram from his "face" for a visual aid. The hologram showed a large, black three-wheeled vehicle with orange accents. The hologram then cut to the six bikes Lesovikk was currently with.
The version of Lava in the hologram reared up and rallied the team, "We can do this, guys. What riders are we?"
"The RoboRiders!" the rest of them cheered.
The team then rode into battle, which was presented as a montage. The so-called RoboRiders fought hard with their weapons, but the three-wheeler evaded them with a surprising amount of maneuverability and rammed into them.
Making things even worse was how the three-wheeler split into three separate motorcycles for an edge in numbers.
When the holo-footage ended, Lesovikk commented, "And this is the main obstacle to your goals?" Then an idea hit him in the face, "By any chance, do you have the means to travel to other dimensions?"
The black bike did a wheelie as he interpreted the Toa's words, "Are you suggesting we just flee to another world?! Because we're not doing that! I KNOW we can win!"
Chuckling, Lesovikk shook his head, "That's not what I meant. I'm suggesting that, if I can defeat that 'Boss,' can you send me back to my dimension?"
"That would be the least we could do for you," the yellow bike said. "But do you really think you can?"
"I'm willing to try," Lesovikk nodded. "Do you know where the Boss is now?"
Swamp answered him, "No, but if we home in on the virus, I'm sure he'll show up."
"Then lead the way," Lesovikk gestured to the outskirts of town.
"We're lost and I'm bored," Blaster surmised. "This is the worst thing that's ever happened to me."
"I blame you for this," Millenium said, glaring at Lesovikk. "If you weren't so impatient, we could've prepared better, and we wouldn't be drifting around aimlessly like this!"
"…Our situation isn't that bad," Lesovikk sheepishly tried to deny.
The two robots weren't having any of it, "Are you joking!?"
Flashback
"Did you see the size of that whale?" Blaster asked. "Good thing it moved out of the way, or we would've crashed."
Millennium pointed off into the distance, "Forget about that! Look ahead! A waterfall!"
His other two shipmates followed his finger and saw he was right. "Wait, how can there be a waterfall in the ocean!?" Lesovikk pointed out. He ignored his own question and used his wind powers to get them away from the waterfall, but that was only the start of their troubles.
"A lightning storm!" "Boulder-sized hail!" "We've turned around HOW many times now!? What kind of currents are these?!"
It all culminated in a collision with an iceberg, causing their ship to start sinking.
Millenium thankfully had a way to salvage the situation. He sank his fingers into the floorboard and started prying it apart. "Quickly! If we work fast, we can still make something that can float!"
Blaster and Lesovikk didn't need to be told twice and started prying wood off their doomed vessel and began assembling them into a crude raft. They finished just in time to keep themselves from going down with the ship.
Flashback end
"Okay, I admit, this trip would've gone at least a bit better if we'd had more intel and a better ship. I won't be making a mistake like that again," Lesovikk conceded. "Maybe a ship will pass by soon."
Millenium growled, "Too little too late. We're in the middle of who-knows-where. There's no telling when a ship might pass by."
"Hey, look, a ship!" Blaster pointed.
"…Don't you say a word," Millenium growled at the Toa. To get the ship's attention, he and Blaster threw some disks in the air.
When the disks collided, they made an explosion, getting the ship's attention. Once it got close enough, the three aliens hopped on board without waiting for an invitation. Naturally, the crew was shocked at the sight of them.
"I surrender!" one of the sailors said, raising his hands.
Millenium sighed and raised a hand, "We don't plan on hurting any of you. Just take us to the nearest island, please."
"Yes, robot overlord!"
As the cowardly sailor made for the helm, one of his crewmates addressed the mechanical trio, "Don't mind him. He's…eccentric."
"We can tell," Lesovikk nodded.
Day after day went by and the Slizers, particularly Millenium, were getting impatient. "Any estimate for how much longer this trip is going to take?"
"Hey, man, we're just going where the Log Pose points," one of the humans answered. And that led to them having to explain to the aliens what a Log Pose was and how it worked.
After several more days, they finally arrived at a remote island. To the trio's annoyance, the ship departed the moment they dropped them off at the insistence of the one eccentric member.
"Okay, we're finally back on dry land. Let's just find ourselves a new ship and resume our journey," Lesovikk shrugged. He started walking toward the town on the island, beckoning for his companions to follow.
Just before they reached the outskirts, though, they were stopped by a wandering soldier. "Hold up, you three. If you want to enter our town, you're gonna have to pay the harbor tax."
"Unfortunately for you, we don't have any money," Millenium informed him.
"Then get the rest of your crew and have them pay it," the soldier demanded.
"We don't have a crew. We just hitched a ride here," Blaster informed him. He pointed out to sea, "Look, you can still see the ship sailing away."
The solider gazed at the ship for a few seconds, "Hmm." He then returned his focus to the trio, "Well, I guess you don't owe harbor taxes then. But you'll still have to pay Ruluka Island's tourist tax."
"Wait, why should we have to pay taxes anyway? We're not even citizens," Lesovikk pointed out.
"Yeah, that'd make this more of a fine than a tax," Blaster added.
Lesovikk glanced at his yellow and black comrade, "A fine? I was going to say it's more like a fee."
Blaster shook his head, "No, a fine is-"
"What does it matter? I just said we don't have any money," Millenium reiterated.
Growing tired of the discussion, the soldier shut things down, " Enough! You're gonna have to come with me."
Just as Millenium started to move, Lesovikk stopped him, "We didn't come here to cause trouble. Just play along for now."
"You there! The three non-humans!"
The non-humans in question looked up at the rocky ridge nearby to see an old, mustachioed man with a strange-looking, high-tech backpack.
"Have any of you seen a rainbow-colored mist?"
"Never heard of it!" Blaster answered. "Okay, let's keep going."
The soldier led the trio to a tower at the coast. There, the non-humans saw a bunch of humans working on furthering the tower's construction. All of them had some kind of binding, be it cuffs or ropes. "Alright, you'll get to work here to pay off the taxes you owe."
"For how long?" Lesovikk asked.
"For the rest of your natural lives."
Lesovikk paused at that news. He looked back at his comrades, "Okay, now I think we can start fighting." The soldier raised his gun, only for the Toa to draw his sword and slice off the front half of its barrel.
The two Slizers followed his lead and spawned disks for fighting. More soldiers began showing up and the fighting intensified.
"Stand down, men!"
On command, the soldiers all stepped back, revealing a young man in a robotic suit of armor that covered his upper torso with mechanical arms sticking out of the "head" area. Behind him was a generator being powered by a another man pedaling an exercise bike. "You heinous criminals have disrupted our labor, so I'm going to put you down here and now!"
The three aliens looked amongst themselves and shrugged. Lesovikk raised a hand and unleashed a "pulse" of air, blowing the new enemy far into the distance.
"Anyone-" Blaster was cut off by the sound of a bell ringing. "-else?"
A random soldier pointed in the direction of the harbor, "Hey, was that galleon always there?"
"Or that mist nearby?" Millenium added.
"I think I see someone boarding the ship," Lesovikk said as he peered into the distance.
"…I'm bored! Let's keep fighting!" Blaster shouted. He used his two right arms to grab some soldiers and throw them at other soldiers, restarting the whole fight.
With the powers at their command, the trio of aliens made plenty of headway against their human opponents.
"Stop, everyone!"
That made all the fighters groan. "Oh, what now?" Millenium complained as the old man from earlier ran onto the scene. Accompanying him was another, even older-looking man who had red hair and a beard, along with the armored man Lesovikk had blown away earlier.
"Some of you, quickly, deploy the rainbow tower!" the old, red-haired man commanded.
Two of the soldiers obeyed and ran to the tower. With the push of a plunger detonator, explosions occurred near the base of the tower, causing it to fall in the direction of the mist. It fell way short, but then it extended until it reached the mist, creating a path from the coast.
"I'll keep these things busy, Grandpa! You go get the treasure!" the armored man said as his suit sparked with electricity.
"Right. Men, with me!" the older man said.
Blaster was affronted as the soldiers around him walked away like he was yesterday's news and entered the fallen tower like it was a tunnel. "Hey! We're not-" He was cut off by an electrical blast from the armored man.
"Alright, things are gonna go differently this time!" the armored man declared. "And don't go thinking you can blow me away again. I came prepared this time!"
Lesovikk and his comrades looked on as a spare soldier used an industrial strength nail gun to nail down the generator that powered the armor, as well as the armored man's boots.
"Now, give me your best shot," the armored man dared.
Blaster and Millenium readied their disks while Lesovikk raised his sword and-
"Wait!"
All the fighters paused as the other old man, the one with the mustache, got in between them all. "You three, a word, please?"
Lesovikk and his companions glanced at each other and shrugged, forming a huddle with the old man. "Excuse us a moment," the Toa of Air asked politely.
"Oh no, go ahead," the armored man waved.
"Now, what do you want from us, old man?" Millenium asked, annoyed.
"Henzo. My name is Henzo," the mustachioed man corrected. "Besides that, I have a favor to ask."
"Which is?" Lesovikk prompted.
"Please, stop Wetton and his men," Henzo begged. "My friends are on the other side of the rainbow mist, and I know that Wetton wouldn't hesitate to do away with them when he finds them."
"Who's Wetton?" Blaster asked.
"Probably the leader of the troops," Millenium guessed. He sighed, "And I suppose this is the part where Lesovikk agrees to help."
"We'll help you," the green Toa nodded.
The two Slizers groaned. "Come on, Lesovikk," Blaster whined, "If we keep stopping to help humans, it'll take even longer for us to get to our worlds."
Henzo's eyes widened, "Other worlds? The rainbow mist could help with that." As the three aliens perked up, he continued, "I haven't confirmed it myself, but it's my theory that space and time operate differently in the mist. If you're really looking for a gate between worlds, this could be your best chance."
"Are you serious?" Millenium asked.
"You've got a deal!" Blaster agreed eagerly.
Lesovikk nodded, "Then we have an agreement." The group disbanded and Lesovikk addressed the armored man, "I'm afraid we'll have to cut this rematch short. Farewell."
"What!? You're not going anywhere!" the armored man shouted. His suit's arms crackled with electricity, but before he could do anything, the arms were severed by disks courtesy of Blaster and Millenium.
Henzo started running for the fallen tower, beckoning for the alien trio to come with him, "Quickly, there's no time to lose!"
As his enemies ditched him, the armored man tried to pursue but failed. "Oh, right, we bolted my boots to the ground," he recalled. "…Someone, help me out!"
Lesovikk led the charge through the tunnel, with Blaster carrying Henzo so the old man wouldn't slow them down. Once they arrived on the other side, they found what looked like an unending ship graveyard with a thick fog all around.
"This is it. Ape's Concert," Henzo noted as Blaster put him down. He quickly scanned the area around them and spotted some of Wetton's troops. Dozens of them were scattered across various ships, taking whatever treasure they found. All the rest were gathered near one of the bigger ships around, holding several children hostage.
"Time to get things started," Blaster commented. He and his allies quickly leapt into action. Taking the soldiers by surprise, the aliens made quick progress, taking their enemies down in no time at all.
"Alright, that's enough!"
That shout gave the Toa and Slizers just enough warning to avoid an incoming fire blast.
Looking in the direction of the blast, they saw that it was villainous old man, likely Wetton. He was wearing a suit similar to the man from before, with the difference being that it had nozzles at the end of its arms instead of electrical clamps.
"You three have been causing trouble since the second you showed up on my island," Wetton complained. "But I'm in a good mood from finally getting my hands on all this treasure, so if you drag your metal shells out of here, I'll let you go. Otherwise, I'll burn you all here and now."
Lesovikk exchanged glances with his comrades before Millenium answered, "We disrespectfully decline."
The three of them leapt about with Lesovikk keeping Wetton's attention.
Blaster and Millenium took advantage of the distraction and disabled Wetton's suit just like the other man's, by severing the suit arms with their disks.
Lesovikk landed in front of Wetton and held his sword up threateningly, "Here's what's going to happen. You're going to take whatever is left of your men and leave this realm. And after that, you'll leave Ruluka Island. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay there."
Wetton opened his mouth to refute them, but paused as the aliens brandished their weapons.
"Think carefully about your answer," Millenium warned.
Growling, Wetton relented, "Alright. Men, we're leaving!"
After making sure to strip Wetton's remaining men of their weapons, the aliens escorted them, Henzo, and Henzo's surprisingly young friends back through the tunnel.
Henzo himself stopped to have a final chat with the aliens. "I can't thank you enough for what you've done."
"If you really want to thank us, you can give us some tips for how this mist can get us back to our worlds," Millenium asked bluntly.
"Well, time and space both work differently in the rainbow mist. I can't be certain, but maybe if you create an energy sure, it will send you back where you came from rather than eject you back here," Henzo hypothesized.
"We'll take that chance," Lesovikk nodded. "Thank you for the information."
With one final farewell, the trio separated from the humans and found themselves standing around in Ape's Concert.
Millenium spawned some disks in his hands, "Alright, Blaster. We need energy, so it falls to us to generate it."
The yellow and black Slizer nodded and brought out his own disks. They let their disks fly and, as the attacks collided, the sky started to crackle with purple lightning.
Seeing what looked like progress, Lesovikk, looked between his comrades, "Gentlemen, if this works, I want you to know that it's been an honor!"
"The feeling is mutual!" Blaster shouted.
"Not on my end, it's not!" Millenium jabbed.
The crackling in the sky intensified and space warped around them.
In flash of light, the three non-humans found themselves in completely different locations.
Millenium found himself standing in the streets of a large town. All the citizens looked less than reputable and the whole town was sitting at the base of a mountain with a multi-branched river running upward.
Blaster stood on the outskirts of a village. Hearing a noise, he turned around and saw a human girl with long blue hair standing behind him carrying a sack.
As for Lesovikk? He was standing on the deck of a ship, whose inhabitants were all aiming swords and guns at him. Taking a look at the sails, he spotted a Jolly Roger.
All three otherworlders had just one question: "Oh, where am I now?"
