Okay… That would do.
The wants would stay with me for now. But Charlie was home. I needed to talk to him.
"Bells," his voice boomed. "I'm home!"
"Coming!"
I went downstairs. "Hey Dad. How was work?"
"Same ole, same ole. How was school?"
"Same. Jess wanted to go to a movie this weekend. And… I signed up for exercise training from her."
"Training?"
"Yeah. Getting faster, stronger. Ridding myself of my second left feet. You know the stuff, right?"
"Yeah. Got it."
"Ummm… Dad, I was wondering..." I stopped unable to frame a correctly.
"Wondering what, Bella?"
"I was just wondering if you could teach me how to fight. Like some basic moves, self-defence, how to respond if someone attacks you, you know, the basic stuff. And probably the advanced too, if you could."
"You want to learn how to fight?" Charlie asked, trying to comprehend it.
"Uhh… Yeah?"
"Okay. Alright. When?"
"I don't know. Whatever time suits you?"
"What about tomorrow evening? I'll be home. I'm off duty tomorrow."
"Sure, sure. Oh, and Charlie?" I called him as he finished his dinner and went to watch the game.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going for a morning jog with Jessica tomorrow. Good night!"
And with that, I ran upstairs, leaving Charlie unexpectedly confused about everything.
