Story Start!

Training.

It was a day off for Naruto after the party, so he was going to get some personal training done. Makima was taking a trip to Kyoto to meet with a group of government officials, and make some kind of report to them. He would guess it was either about him, or the Special Division 4 as a whole.

'Okay Naruto, today is going to be a good day, just me, training in this apartment... all by myself-' Naruto was licked by a husky as he thought that. There were two huskies who were licking his face within moments as he sat down and meditated. He couldn't train the usual way, not in a world as weak as this one, so the only way he could train and grow stronger was to train in the only place where he could go wild.

-Inside of Naruto's Mind-

"Shadow Clone?"

"Zip it, I'm focusing on technique. I can go wild here, and not destroy anything." Naruto rushed towards a Shadow Clone he made inside of his own head. He kept both of his arms behind his back and used only his legs to fight against the clone. Thanks to his status as Jinchuriki, and his Waterfall of Truth training, it was easy for him to just gain easy access to the inner depths of his mind and use his chakra while inside of himself.

So, he made a clone of himself to spar with.

His perfect equal, and he would spar against himself without using his arms, this would be a good way for him to improve his technique.

"You can train against me too you know. Now that both of my halfs have been reunited, I'm much stronger than I was the last time we fought." Kurama was laying down and watching as Naruto sparred against himself. As amusing as it was to watch, he would be down to play another game of chakra tug-a-war with Naruto as training.

Naruto glanced over at Kurama.

...

"Ah, right, Six Paths Sage Mode... you're gotten much stronger too." Kurama realized, with just Naruto's eyes golden colored with cross shaped pupils that Naruto was training with his basic Six Paths Sage Mode at the moment, which put him out of Kurama's league for training. He could use Senjutsu through Naruto, but that wouldn't be enough for him to close the massive gap that was created by Naruto using his own transformation. Naruto wasn't being dismissive, but he just knew there would be little actual training.

It would just be a fun spar at that point, and would offer no increase in strength or technical skills.

He would settle for having fun watching Naruto get his ass kicked by a clone, thanks to the severe handicap he gave himself by not using his arms. He was forced to block entire attacks with his shins, knees, and feet.

"Fucking! We can't do this, I'm the clone, and I'm still getting distracted by the feeling of those huskies licking us." The clone threw his arms up in the air, and Naruto sighed, nodded his head.

-Outside of Naruto's Mind-

"Haaaaaaah." Naruto sighed as he stopped training against himself, exiting his mind and powering down. Naruto hummed to himself in annoyance, before he realized that he had sensed something that was on the odd side to say the least. Standing up, Naruto walked out onto the balcony and looked out across the city. '... Makima going to Kyoto is normal I guess... but she seems way too confident. Does she know something is about to go down, something that will benefit her?' Naruto wondered as he entered Sage Mode.

He scanned the entire city.

Aki, Himeno, Denji, and Power were eating at a ramen shop, and there was somebody who felt like Denji holding a gun and pointing it at Denji.

Slow motion, hold up.

Naruto didn't have all of his coworkers memorized, but he he sensed Kobeni too, and she had an old lady who was standing behind her, also holding a gun, and was pointing it at the back of Kobeni's head.

Windows across the city shattered.

There was zero hesitation in Naruto when the man pointing the gun at Denji pulled the trigger, and the woman pointing at Kobeni pulled the trigger as well. Naruto crossed his fingers in mid-air and transformed, splitting himself into 2 as he headed off in both directions.

Every single window shattered.

Many buildings were damaged by the shockwaves if they were too close to him, and many people were blown off their feet as massive gusts of wind filled the entire city.

-With Naruto-

"Hell no."

Naruto went through the fucking wall in that moment as the window and the store was destroyed in that very moment, Naruto was holding the bullet and the gun that the man aiming at Denji had fired, and tossed it towards the ground. The shockwave of him entering the building so roughly hit the building moments later, and everyone was knocked clear off of their feet and into the wall.

The guy holding the gun was knocked right into Naruto, but Naruto punched him in the chest, and because he felt like Denji, that meant he was immortal... and because he was immortal, Naruto went for a fatal blow at that moment. The man's entire torso was blasted by the force of the punch, with his head, arms, and legs going flying across the street.

"Wh-what was... Naruto... when did you get here?" Aki was slowly picking himself off the ground, and noticed only after a moment that Naruto was standing in the middle of the destroyed shop.

"Hey asshole, you wasted our food!"

"The food was mine, and you wasted it!"

'I saved these idiots.' Naruto deadpanned to himself when Power and Denji could only complain about the wasted ramen. He loved ramen too, but not even he was deranged enough to value ramen more than his very life or the lives of others. He palmed his face at the stupidity of it, but he walked across the street to go and collect the severed head of the man who had tried to assassinate his fellows.

"Snake."

Naruto raised his hand and stopped the Snake Devil, a MASSIVE devil with a power of power behind it, but as he was now, it didn't so much as cause him to step back. Across the street, there was a woman with a red sweatshirt, who had summoned the devil. Naruto glanced over at her.

The Snake Devil died.

She was shocked, stepped backwards, and watched as her summoned devil was slain as it was cut in half. Naruto used just raw wind chakra and sliced the snake in half like it was a waterfall. In that moment, the woman started to turn to escape from Naruto.

No.

Naruto appeared in front of her.

"No you don't." Naruto blocked a punch from the woman, before he slapped her. He slapped her, and shook her brain in her head. She spun on her feet, unconscious before she fell backwards. 'I am going to have a LOT to talk to Makima about.' Naruto grabbed the woman by the shirt before he could collapse backyards and hit the ground. He loaded her up onto his shoulder, before he walked across the street for real and picked the severed head up off the ground.

One of his arms had a sword sticking out of the severed wrist?

So he was a Devil Hybrid.

-With Naruto's Clone, Moments Ago-

Kobeni heard the bang.

In slow motion, she turned around and saw Naruto was standing behind her with a closed fist right behind her skull. There were two more bangs, and Naruto's other fist was already in the air, having caught something that was behind him.

Then the shockwave hit.

The old woman behind her, who was holding a gun, was knocked off of her feet and across the street by the shockwave. Kobeni barely managed to keep herself on her own feet, and was still knocked up into the air, and landed 10 feet away from where she had started. Naruto dropped bullets from his hands, and onto the ground.

The woman was already dead.

The shockwave of Naruto running in front of her had snapped her neck, and twisted her body into odd shapes. The elderly woman who had attempted to assassinate Kobeni had been killed, not by an attack from Naruto, but merely because he moved too close to her when he had passed by her.

"What... what happened?" Kobeni asked as she picked a gun up off the ground.

Did an old woman just try to kill her for no good reason?

There was a trail of destruction behind Naruto, windows destroyed, buildings cracked and some split, the pavement on the ground was turned into molten lava from his feet moving across it at super speed. Naruto didn't run in a straight line either, he had to take detours to avoid all crowded areas on his way to save her life. Kobeni had been all by herself, and if he hadn't intervened when he did, she would have been killed.

"You almost died, this old woman tried to kill you. Aki and his team were attacked too, but they are safe down. Stick close to me." Naruto offered her his hand. 'Makima, did you know this was going to happen, or did you plan it out...' Naruto narrowed his eyes as he thought about if Makima knew this would happen, or if she planned it to happen.

-With Makima-

'So, he actually stopped it... that's quite irritating on some level.' Makima cleaned blood off of her face.

She had taken a bullet through her head, and so had the fellow members of Special Division 4 who had traveled with her on the train. She hadn't planned this out, but she wasn't surprised by it either. She knew somebody was plotting against her, to capture Denji's heart for the Gun Devil. She had made plans around it, but she woudn't be wrong if she said that she had hoped that most of Division 4 would have been killed. Then she could justify fusing several other divisions together to form a single division of the best to her liking.

She could still do that.

'Still, I expected there to be more deaths. It seems Naruto wasn't perfect, about 80% of Division 4 was wiped out by the assassins. He only saved those who he was familiar with. In the heat of the moment, Naruto focused on those he was familiar with.' Makima had been watching the scene at the ramen shop, and she even watched the old woman try to assassinate Kobeni. She watched most of the members of Special Division 4, and most of them had been wiped out by the gunmen who attacked them.

Naruto had only noticed what was happening at the last second.

She looked down at the corpse of her fellow Division 4 member with passive eyes.

'He used that... Sage Mode of his. He said he can sense his surroundings... as amazing as his sensing ability is, there are gaps. When he's looking for specific people, there are blind spots. He either didn't sense, or he wasn't familiar with the other members of the squad to rescue them in time... so does he have a blind spot, or was he just not familiar enough with the other members?' Makima would have to ask Naruto why he didn't save all of the squad, and only saved a few members.

Did Naruto notice the other members got attacked, or had he been so distracted by his friends getting attacked that he didn't notice the others until it was already too late?

-With Naruto-

"... Shit..." Naruto hissed under his breath.

"What just happened?" Himeno was coughing up dust as she recovered from the wreckage of the shop.

"I was so distracted by you guys being in danger, that I totally missed the others... most of the other members of Division 4 have been killed... damnit." Naruto hissed in anger.

Anger at himself.

He saw his friends had been in danger, and in that moment he had become so singleminded in his desire to save them, that he had totally ignored the other members who were also in danger. In that split second, he had only saved 5 people who were in danger of getting shot, but most of the squad members had been killed.

"Don't blame yourself Naruto."

'Yeah, I'm not to blame for this one. I panicked, but it wasn't my actions that got them killed, I just failed to save them. Damnit, and Makima did get attacked too, and so did her partner... her attackers are dead.' Naruto could sense Makima on the train to Kyoto, and she had gotten attacked too.

This wasn't a plot by Makima, but he would guess that she absolutely knew that this was something that was going to happen.

"Naruto, you're not to blame... you got to use and saved us... so thank you."

"You don't have to rep... oh... yeah, thanks." Naruto realized that it was Aki talking to him, and not Kurama talking from inside of his head. He was going to tell Aki not to repeat himself, but he had been so in his own head that he mixed up Kurama and Aki in that moment. He wasn't really paying attention to the voices of anyone around him. "Aki, I know you're technically in command right now... and it's my day off, but I'm taking control for the moment. Get Denji and Power home. I'll get Himeno home... get there as quickly as you can." Naruto took command and gave his orders.

Orders that Aki agreed with.

"Explain it to me later, but I'll handle it now." Aki moved into action.

Naruto narrowed his eyes.

He was going to have some very choice words for Makima after this.

She BETTER be able to give him a good answer to his questions.
