Story Start!

Akane Sawatari.

"Akane Sawatari, a civilian Devil Hunter with an illegal contract with the Snake Devil... though the Snake devil is dead, and her contract is null and void, it is unknown if she has other contracts. Sir, are you sure that you should go in there?"

"I'll be fine, I'm just getting intel from her, I think I can handle that." Naruto stated, and because it was a work day he was in uniform now. He was with Kobeni, and they were standing outside of a sealed room with a one way glass window, looking in at the blond haired woman in a red hoodie who had summoned the Snake devil to attack him on the day that many Division 4 members were killed.

She didn't seem happy.

She was captured without having managed to accomplish what she was seeking, and nobody knew what her motive was. It was suspected that she was contracted with the Gun Devil to get Denji's heart, but the fact was that Naruto didn't believe that. Makima might not have been lying, but he was damn sure that she wasn't telling the truth either.

"Naruto..."

"I've got this Kobeni, trust me, I'll have her spilling her guts." Naruto was not a specialist in torture or interrogation like many, but his teacher Jiraiya hadn't been either, and that man was still great at gathering and torturing people. He was pretty confident he would be able to get the woman talking, so Naruto walked in the room and closed the door behind him.

"I already told the police what I know."

"Yeah, and I don't believe that you were being honest for even a second." Naruto was rudely spoken to the second he entered the room. He walked right across the room, and flipped the table over onto it's side, shattering it into splinters. Naruto then crouched down in front of Akane, resting his elbows on his knees and he looked up at her.

She had red eyes, shaped like snake eyes with her slit pupils.

Side effect of her previous contract, or just natural for her, he didn't know and it didn't really matter. He was visiting her to get information out of her. He could feel Kobeni was worried about him on the other side of the door, but he wasn't worried. If the woman had a second devil contract to help her with, then at this point she would have already made use of it to escape. When she summoned the Snake devil, she had lost one of her fingernails for the summon.

"I've said what I have to say." Akane stated, and she shut her mouth tightly, staring him down as a challenge.

Naruto grinned.

"We'll see about that."

"I can handle pain. Torture me, rape me, do whatever, but you won't get anything from me." Akane couldn't help herself when Naruto grinned. She had a nervous bead of sweat that had started at her forehead, and had gathered at her chin as it fell down her very pretty face. She was nervous, and he could smell it off of her. His confidence in his ability to get information out of her, considering he killed the Snake devil, unnerved her more than torture and pain could.

Still, she was afraid of what he could do to her.

Naruto smiled at her.

Naruto just smiled at her without saying a word for 10 minutes straight, nothing but a silent smile with happy eyes. She was silent too, but her nervous sweat and heartbeat were getting heavier with each passing minute that he didn't say anything to her. Naruto didn't blink, he just stared right into her eyes. Whenever she looked away, he would keep staring, and eventually her eyes would be drawn right back into his own eyes.

"... I can't say anything else... I'll... be killed if I say anything." Akane broke and looked away from Naruto again, her eyes shifting around the room as if expecting something to attack her. Her eyes settled back on Naruto, but he was grinning at her with his eyes closed. His face was very fox-like in that moment as he just gave off a very happy aura. His happiness only made her more nervous though. '... Shit... what is he going to do... why is he so confident that he'll get the answers from me?' Akane looked into his face some more, searching for any answer that she could find.

Naruto was just still silently smiling at her.

He took a breath and got ready to speak, and she flinched the second she saw him open his mouth. The second she flinched though, he stopped what he was about to say, and just looked at her with that same confident look.

'I've been wondering how I was going to make her crack, but it seems that as long as I don't say anything, she'll do all the work.' Naruto had been silent, thinking over what he was going to say or do to make her talk, and then suddenly she starts to get more nervous and speak. According to the police, even when they punched her or kicked her, the pain didn't cause her to change her story.

So Naruto smiled at her.

"... Keep Makima away from me... keep that devil woman away from me, and... protect me from the Yakuza. I'll tell you everything you want to know, those are my conditions." Akane spoke, and when she mentioned the Yakuza, that was when Naruto figured out that she was contracted with the Yakuza and not the Gun devil. She was working for them, which suddenly made a lot more sense as to why she was still so scared.

Naruto smiled at her, he just smiled.

"... They... they have my family... they'll kill..."

Naruto smiled wider.

"That's a lie... I don't have a family. I work as a devil hunter for the Yakuza, and they sell the devils I kill on the black market... they got me a contract with the Snake devil, and they wanted Denji's heart." Akane changed her lie into the truth as soon as Naruto smiled wider. He knew, she could see that he knew she was lying. She couldn't lie to him, she had to tell the complete and utter truth or else she was sure that Naruto would do something.

She didn't know what, but he would do something to her that could force her to talk.

"I can't go to prison though... the Yakuza will have me killed in prison... I'll give you names, and the locations of where they meet up. I'll give all that information to you... but no prison time. I never succeeded in killing anyone in Division 4, so... you can offer me a deal." Akane was breathing heavily. She looked at Naruto's utmost confidence in himself in this situation. She didn't know what he had on her, but he didn't seem surprised at her information.

If he already knew all of this, then she couldn't use the information as a bargaining chip to ensure her own safety in the future. She needed to give Naruto something that he could use, that way she could ensure her own safe haven from the consequences of her actions.

"Oh! I know, I'm a strong devil hunter, I'll work for Public Safety... I'll tell you all everything I know about the Yakuza's illegal dealings, and where they sell devil corpses. They have illegal devils, that's how I made a pact with the Snake devil... just ensure my safety from Makima and the Yakuza... keep me safe, and everything I know... I'll tell all of it." Akane looked at his smiling face.

No change at all.

He needed more!?

"I... I... don't... I really don't have anything else... whatever you're planning to do to me... you can't make me reveal anything else, because I honestly... I honestly don't have anything else I can give." Akane was sweating worse as her heartbeat smashed the inside of her ribs, racing faster than ever before in her life. Naruto wanted more information, and she didn't have anything else that she could give him. "... Please... don't do whatever you're going to do to me. Whatever devil contract you're going to use to force the information out... whatever torture methods you have, don't use them." Akane begged.

The Snake devil was an extremely powerful devil, and this guy killed it so easily, and without any indication of what devil contract he had. She couldn't afford to test him, not when he might have something worse than torture or rape to use against her. For all she knew, he was contracted with the Truth devil, or maybe he had a contract with the Pain devil. He was a powerful man, and there was no telling what he had up his sleeve.

Naruto stood up.

She flinched back, and raised her chained wrists to defend her face.

"That's good enough, tell the police all the information you promised, and I can get you a position with Public Safety." Naruto told her, and he watched as all of the tension, nervousness, and fear was released from her body. At some point, she had actually peed her pants a little, but he doubted she cared about that at all.

Naruto left the room, and closed the door behind him.

"How did you do that!?" Kobeni was so impressed, and she wasn't the only one. The police interrogator who had been on the case was just as impressed as Kobeni was.

"Sir, you don't have the authority to prevent her from facing punishment."

"I might not have the authority, but the fact is you're going to make sure it happens anyway. I'm sure you would love to be part of the police force that is part of the team that puts away the Yakuza and breaks up an underground devil market." Naruto stated to the officer, who was silent, but he nodded his head in subtle agreement.

Any officer who wasn't on Yakuza payroll would love that very much, it was a great way to boost your career, and eventually run for political office with a high chance for success. The price being allowing one corrupt girl to work for the government was a small price to pay.

Heck, the girl would likely die as a devil hunter in a few short years, so there was little to worry about.

"I understand... don't you need your division leaders permission though?"

"Not at all, if I know Makima like I think I do, I'm sure that she would twist this in some kind of way that benefits her goals." Naruto didn't know exactly, but he was sure that Makima would place Akane in a position where she could further her own goals. Makima would love to take down the Yakuza and get access to all the devil parts and contracts that they have under their control.

"Okay, but final question... how did you get her to talk?" The officer asked the same question as Kobeni.

Naruto smiled.

"... I guess I won her over with my winning smile and confidence." Naruto grinned with a joke.

He wondered if Ibiki would have been brought of that interrogation?
