"EEEP!"

"None of the devils here can hurt you, not while I'm here with you Kobeni." Naruto stated as she held onto his arm. He had his date with Makima tomorrow, but the fact was that he had Akane assigned to the same team as him and Kobeni, that way he could keep an eye on her and make absolutely sure she didn't run off. He guessed it made sense for her to be on the same team as him, purely because it was him that got her freedom from prison or death.

Still, she lacked any Devil contracts at the moment.

He killed the Snake devil, and though it was very powerful, her contract with it was null and void now that it was killed. That meant she needed a new contract to assist her in battle, which meant going to one of the facilities where devils were held and finding Akane a suitable devil to contract with.

Akane was not that athletic, she was just your normal girl all things considered, and had no promising skills in hand to hand combat. She looked good in uniform, but she wore her red hoodie over the top of it.

"What? I get cold easy." Akane stated as she noticed Naruto staring at her hoodie. She defended her choice to wear a hoodie over her multi-layered uniform, purely because she got cold easy. It wasn't against the rules, as long as she wore her uniform under the hoodie. She clicked her teeth in annoyance when she looked into one of the cells, and saw a devil standing in the middle of a room. "I'm not making a contract with the Wolf devil..."

"Make a contract with me!"

"Why not?" Naruto asked her.

"The Wolf devil is well known for raping human women as payment for making a contract with it. I'm fine with being raped, that isn't a big deal to me... but I am not about to have sex with a devil. That is out of the question." Akane wasn't going to fuck a devil. She would rather take her own life than have sex with something that wasn't human. Naruto crossed his arms and looked into the cell, with the wolf devil looking out of the cell at Akane and Kobeni with hungry eyes, not for meat, but for sex.

"Fair." Naruto wouldn't address the fact that she was fine with being raped.

That was very personal.

"How about the Monkey devil?" Kobeni asked Akane.

"I'm not athletic enough to make use of a devil like that... I need a devil that can do all of the fighting for me, while I stand back and give orders." Akane wasn't a fighter, her method of fighting was summoning devils to fight for her. If that didn't work, she used a gun to shoot the people attacking her. It was just that simple, she had no fighting skills, and wasn't strong enough to develop them.

She was a strategist, not a fighter.

-Moments Later-

"I refuse to form a contract with a woman, I'm only interested in male humans. Still, if you are taking this human female as a mate, I do say I approve. I'm sure she will birth you many healthy kits."

"Thanks Mother, guess this is out." Naruto waved to the fox devil as he left the room she was kept in, with Kobeni and Akane following him out. He figured the fox devil would be a perfect fit for Akane's fighting style of not fighting, but if she didn't want to make a contract with Akane, then it was pointless to try.

"Mother?"

"Part of my contract, I have to refer to her as mother... we can try the Mantis devil, I think a few people have contracts with it." Naruto stated as he looked down the halllway. He guessed that would be a pretty strong devil, since a lot of people were creeped out by bugs in general. He looked at Akane, and she just shrugged her shoulders.

-Hours Later-

"... I want your womb."

"No deal, I might need that to have a kid one day if I live long enough to retire from this job." Akane was NOT about to trade away her womb for a contract with the Ghost devil. She had denied most contracts that she had been offered. The Ghost devil was just the newest in a line of contracts that she couldn't accept. The Mantis devil wanted to eat her head after she had summoned it 100 times, and since she couldn't fight on her own, that meant she could only ever fight 99 devils before dying at the 100th fight.

No thank you.

"We can try the Fox devil again, see if I can't convince her to change her mind." Naruto wondered to himself out loud. Akane was very picky about her contracts.

"Then, instead of your womb... I want your sense of taste, sense of smell, and your ability to feel carnal pleasure." Ghost offered Akane a different contract instead of just taking her womb and calling it there. Akane turned around and looked at Ghost, who was visible at the moment just to make the contract. The large devil was a very powerful devil that she could fight with.

Akane had to consider that.

'I won't be able to enjoy food, and I won't feel anything from sex either. Not being able to smell nice candles, taste nice food, or experience pleasant sex... that could lead to severe boredom in life.' Akane thought, before she weighed the pros and the cons. "No, I'm not interested in that either."

"Very well."

-30 Minutes Later-

"Your death isn't worth too much, it's a dime a dozen death... easily avoidable too... damn... lets see... how about this for a contract. 15 years off your life span, and you get to use my power to see 10 seconds into the future?" The Future devil offered her one of the least shitty contracts that she had been offered, and she had to actually consider this one.

"I'm not strong enough to take advantage of even 10 seconds of forewarning." Akane couldn't accept this contract either. The price was something she was willing to play, but it just wasn't useful for her personally.

-45 Minutes Later-

"I hate the cold."

"Deal with it, you're running out of options." Naruto slapped the back of her head as they entered a room where it was ice cold. Kobeni was just fine, but she saw a chance to get closer to Naruto, so she saddled up by his side. In the middle of the room was a large devil, 10 feet tall easily, and he was a snowman that was filled to the brim with human arms, all hugging each other for warmth. The thing looked like the most demented snowman of all time.

Ice cold blue arms shaking and shivering in the cold, and it's snowman coal eyes burned with hot flames that didn't melt the snow on it's body.

"I am the Ice devil... you may call me by my nickname."

"Jack Frost?" Naruto offered with a grin. 30 of the arms sticking out of it's snowman body all pointed at Naruto.

"Bingo, Jack Frost is nipping right at your nose... and kills you with a cold sleep. Okay, so lets see... shake hands with me, so I can feel what I want in exchange for a contract." Ice offered 15 hands to Akane, who hesitated, before she started to shake one of it's hands.

"AH!"

A layer of frost started to cover her arm as she shook it's hand, and she pulled her hand away as quickly as possible. It wasn't severe, but her fingers started to show signs of extremely minor frostbite. The few seconds of contact that she had with the devil was more than enough for her to experience the horrible sensation.

"Hmmm... your contract with the Snake had you trade your fingernails to summon it in battle. You're a pretty cold girl... and you hate the cold... guess you and Snake had plenty in common."

"Funny guy." Naruto whispered to Kobeni.

She nodded.

"Okay, how about this. You can summon my arms to you, and they will act according to your will, but from now on, all your showers will be ice cold. You will never experience a hot and relaxing shower... and you MUST shower every day on days you can shower and get squeaky clean." Ice offered her. He took sadistic pleasure in taking something she would love away from her. It was a fair contract though, not that being fair really mattered much to a devil.

"I hate this, but deal." Akane was going to hate the side effects of her contract.

Kobeni flinched at that.

"Is that really so bad?" Naruto whispered to Kobeni.

"It's horrible, I suffer from poor circulation too, and a cold shower is horrible. I had to take them all the time because my siblings used all the hot water before me." Kobeni lamented her horrible experience with showers. "I love hot showers."

"Cool to know."

"Contract completed, very well, you may summon my arms whenever you wish now."

-On the Train-

A portal made of ice with a blue arm coming out of it.

Akane could control it as if it were her own arm, and anything the hand grabbed onto started to freeze over. The hand could cover things in a layer of ice, making it a very useful contract. The downside of never being able to enjoy a hot shower was a horrible payment to make for her, but at least she would be able to fight without having to get her own hands dirty.

"So... where am I staying?"

"With Kobeni." Naruto gestured to Kobeni.

"EH!?"

"Yes, with you, you're fast and strong enough to easily kill Akane if she tries to pull something... not that she can escape, considering if she betrays us, she's made a shit ton of enemies already." Naruto pointed out to Akane with a knowing look. She was effectively in a prison, while still being very free. Not the worst fate, but if she left Public Safety, then she was going to be attacked by the remaining members of the Yakuza who had escaped prison.

That, or Makima.

Makima was the worse option of the two.
