'Then there is the Spider Devil, who just looks like a woman.' Naruto thought as he looked at Princi, who wore a very long skirt instead of pants. She was pale skinned and extremely blank faced, but the only indicator she wasn't human was the large zipper that went right down the center of her face. Naruto heard that human-shaped devils typically got along better with humans overall, but you still shouldn't trust them.

Nobody had a day off today.

Makima assigned them groups for the week, and he wondered what she was plotting at the moment. She just had to assign him to the most awkward group possible. It made sense, Akane was a flight risk and Princi needed supervision as a devil, so he was the best person to do both roles. If he was being honest though, without her Snake contract and with the Ice contract, Akane wasn't about to run away, just to get captured instantly and punished for her previous actions.

Princi was also loyal to Makima, and would obey her perfectly.

"How are the cold showers?" Naruto asked to break the ice.

"Horrible, ice cold." Akane answered swiftly. You would think a person would get used to it, but she hated the cold, and every day she had to take a shower so cold that the water was literally below freezing in temp at times. "Where is our patrol route, I need a coffee..." Akane had taken a shower before going into work, and she was still chilled down to her bone. Kobeni hadn't bought any coffee, and they were out, so she hadn't warmed up after her nightmare shower.

Princi was silent, but she stared at Akane with a cold intensity.

She looked like she wanted to kill Akane, but only held back because they were coworkers, and that was it. There was open hostility in her eyes, showing her devil nature. It proved that just because human shaped devils could get along with humans, didn't mean that they weren't still devils, and didn't hold some form of hostility towards them. It just so happened that they hated other devils far more than they hated humans, so humans were the lesser of two enemies to them.

"Our patrol route takes us passed a coffee shop. Princi?" Naruto asked, and Princi lost the hostility and looked at him.

'Barely human, more of a deity than a person.' Princi thought as she looked at Naruto. His power was so overwhelming, that her danger senses alerted her to just the fact that he couldn't possibly be a human. It was unlike the loyalty that she felt towards Makima, because she just felt submission towards this man. He was too strong for her to ever dream of having a chance against him.

Naruto saw that she wasn't going to say anything and dropped it.

Princi was awkward it seemed.

'Great, Akane isn't the most talkative, and Princi is the same way. This is going to be great, just great.' Naruto was sarcastic even with himself as he started to walk the route they had to take for patrol.

-Hours Later-

'I did that...' Naruto thought as he walked passed a street, a very damaged street in front of a ramen shop, a destroyed ramen shop. It had been when he saved Aki and the others with him, and his speed had caused large damage to the city. The ramen shop was in shambles, and the street on the outside had the concrete flipped over, damaged, and the pipes to the sewer below damaged as well.

There was a construction crew working on fixing the damage, but the fact was that he had caused the damage. Akane looked at the scene as well, and saw the damage, and followed up by looking at Naruto, because she knew he caused the damage personally.

'Katana was captured, and so was I when he did this. No matter where I run, I can't escape him... I better not think of escaping, safer for me if I don't.' Akane sighed and stopped walking for a moment to better take in the destruction. The windows nearby were still being replaced as well. Just the speed that he ran at when he really tried could be considered a lethal weapon. If he ran too close to a regular person, he could kill them.

Princi looked at Akane, who was staring at Naruto now, and she looked at the damage.

She had no thoughts on it.

So they kept walking.

-At a Coffee Shop-

'No devils today so far, usually I get called to take care of at least one devil... guess the devils in the area are staying low until they think it's safe to cause destruction.' Naruto had a coffee brought to him, and he added plenty of milk, cream, and honey to the coffee. The server girl that brought the coffee to him was a cutie, around his age too he would say.

Cute face, green eyes, purple hair, and the uniform was snug on her to show that she had a nice body. She was even wearing a cute choker with a grenade pin in it.

...

'That girl is the Bomb Hybrid... aaaaaaaaaah... now I get it, Makima assigned me this patrol route with Akane and Princi so we would stop and get coffee.' Naruto had Makima's plans click with him. He looked at the two girls he was sitting with. Princi didn't have a coffee in front of her, but she didn't seem to care and she didn't argue against stopping.

Akane had a contract with the Ice devil and liked coffee, so assigning him a route to take them on that passed by a coffee shop was a sure-fire way to put the bomb girl in his line of site. Naruto looked at Akane, who stared at him with a raised eyebrow, and he turned his eyes away from her.

"Oh wow, you're so young for a Public Safety devil hunter, that's super cool?"

The Bomb Hybrid sat down next to him.

"You are?" Naruto asked her.

"I'm Reze, I work here part time. You devil hunters are just the coolest though, sorry, I had to sit down and talk to you. You're like my age after all." Reze spoke to him with a smile that was beaming, pleasant, and naturally just pretty. It was a good smile, one that could get many to drop their guards.

Not Naruto.

Not once in his life had Naruto ever been fooled by a fake smile, because when he looked at a person's face, it wasn't the smile that got him, it was their eyes. From eyes that didn't see him, to eyes filled with cold hatred to him. He could tell, he could see through, and he could understand what the eyes held better than most. This girl's eyes were warm, but they were fake. She managed to smile with her eyes, but he wasn't fooled by it. He knew that her soul was cold and calculating by looking in that perfectly crafted character.

'Oh yeah, Makima wanted me to see her with my own eyes.' Naruto thought as he didn't respond, sipped at his coffee, and nodded his head.

"Shouldn't you be getting back to work, and getting me a refill?" Akane pushed her empty cup forward to Reze. Reze frowned, got the cup, and went back to the bar to get her a refill. Akane leaned forward when Reze was gone, and looked Naruto dead in the eyes. "You do know she was flirting with you, right?" Akane pointed out to Naruto.

He nodded.

That was all, because Akane didn't seem to know who that girl really was. She was just assuming that she was a normal girl flirting. She wasn't as well informed as one would believe, but then again, she had worked for the yakuza, and didn't have the most knowledge. She had street smarts, but she wasn't well connected.

...

"She was flirting?" Naruto muttered. He didn't actually catch the flirting, he just caught onto the fact that she was faking a smile and trying to cozy up to him. Reze got back and gave Akane a second coffee cup, before she sat down next to Naruto again. Now that it was pointed out to him, he could see it. The way she leaned forward so that he could see down her shirt, very sexy, but also very manipulative. He could see that she made good eye contact with him, but didn't shy away from blinking either.

Each act she did was perfectly crafted to subconsciously seduce a man into falling right into her hands. A man with a weaker resistance to sex appeal would be eating right out of the palm of her hand.

It actually made him sad.

'This girl is using sex appeal, when she doesn't feel anything towards me. She's been trained to do whatever it takes to complete her mission... it's sad, but I understand it. Still, she's not just after me, she's after Denji... and I guess Makima wants me to capture her so that she doesn't get to Denji.' Naruto stood up and grabbed Reze's wrist, before he walked her towards the men's bathroom. He left a surprised Akane and Princi behind, while Reze smirked behind him for only a moment.

"Sir, you know I can't."

"Bomb Hybrid-" Naruto stated once the door closed behind them, and in that very moment Reze went to pull the pin out of her neck.

She failed.

Naruto stopped her by grabbing her hand before it could reach, leaving her powerless. She looked at her current situation, her face lost some of the wamrth and became more cold, before she regained her warmth.

"Going to take me to Makima now?"

"No, I don't feel like doing that. I'm sure Makima wants me to... but recently Makima humiliated me, so I'm not feeling like doing what she wants." Naruto let go of Reze's hands, and he made it very clear with his body language that he could easily stop her from transforming. Her eyes showed that she knew exactly what situation she was in. He could catch her hands before she could get them to her neck, and the fact was that fighting him was pointless.

So she lowered her arms.

"So you're not her puppet?" Reze asked him slowly.

"No, I'm not her puppet. She might trick me into doing something every once and awhile, I'm her leash. While I'm around, she has to play by my rules." Naruto wouldn't say he did a perfect job, and Makima had tricked him a few times. Still, the fact was that if she were to trick him, then she had to trick him while playing by the rules he set. "You're going to play by my rules too. You're after me and Denji, right?" Naruto poked her forehead.

She was wary.

"Yes... I am... and you're saying you're not going to stop me?" Reze was slow as she spoke, wanting to put it into the right words.

Naruto just nodded.

"Here are the rules." Naruto started.

Reze paid attention.

"1. No innocents get hurt, you have to do what you're going to do without involving any innocent civilians. If even one person gets hurt, I'm going to capture you right away, and beat the snot out of you." Naruto explained the first and most important rule. He was actually fine with her trying to seduce Denji, and if she succeeded, well, oh well, he would guess that Makima would lose out on the chainsaw. He wasn't against Makima, but he didn't mind if her goals failed either.

"No innocent deaths... Okay." Reze saw him raise his 2nd finger.

"2. Don't attack Public Safety, most members of Public Safety are just hard working people who protect the innocents. You aren't going to target them, unless they target you first." Naruto gave the second rule. She nodded easily to that, not having to think it over. She had no personal issue following it.

"What if I accidentally break the 1st rule?"

"Accident, on purpose, I don't care. If one innocent person gets hurt, that's it for you, I'm going to capture you and beat the shit out of you. I mean that literally... I am going to beat you until you're a bloody, immortal pulp in the ground, revive you, and then beat you again." Naruto stated, reminding her that her immortality would not be a weapon she could use against him.

"Anything else?" Reze asked him.

Naruto smiled.

"Nope, that's it. Don't target innocents, and don't target Public Safety. Play by those rules, and I'll look the other way on anything else you do. Do whatever you think you need to do to accomplish your mission within those 2 rules, and I won't beat the ever-loving-shit out of you, and make you wish you could die." Naruto stated a very simple but effective threat against her.

Naruto started to walk out.

"... To think you would betray Makima because she humiliated you. Since it isn't against the rules, why not tell me how she did that. How did she humiliate the big strong Uzumaki Naruto?" Reze asked with a bit of a confident smirk. Now that she knew the rules she needed to play by, she figured she could push a bit.

Naruto palmed his face.

"I shouldn't have mentioned that, but if you MUST know... it's none of your business, and I'm not close enough to you to talk about it." Naruto stuck his tongue out at her, walked out of the men's room, and rejoined Akane and Princi at the table. They were both staring at him, but he returned to drinkng his coffee.

"What was that?" Akane had to ask.

"Makima will try and kill you if I tell you."

"Then I won't question further." Akane wasn't about to pull the pin out of that grenade. If knowing the answer meant getting on Makima's list, it was better to just live in ignorance.

She wasn't suicidal after all.
