Author's Note: Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving...and to those who don't celebrate it. …..well I hope you had a happy Thursday, either way.
This next songfic is requested by the woman who started it all, MiniJen.
She requested the song "What if I forget your face?" from Netflix's Centaurworld
Now spoilers for those who are new to the whole UF storylines so if you don't know what I'm talking about then don't read this.

Your still here? Okay just fair warning.
This story takes place during UF2 where Steven and Mabel are separated from Dipper while they are trapped on Homeworld, Now I'm setting this after Steven and Mabel are separated from Dipper while the two are fused into Maven as the fusion is dreading on never seeing Dipper again.
Now another note, MiniJen canonized Maven's VA to be Kimiko Glenn who did star in Centaurworld and who sang this song.
Ps. Had to change the title and lyrics for this one.
Enjoy!
What if I fail to save you?
Deep down below in the untouched rocky reaches of Homeworld, the fusion of Steven Universe and Mabel Pines, Maven was on their knees while slamming their fits to the ground in a mix of anger, sadness, and regret unaware that with each fist hitting the ground their body flashed pink while tears were falling from their face.
"I can't believe we left him behind?!" Maven shouted, their voice sounding close to Mabel's voice but harsh and broken.
"We-we didn't, Dipper got us out of the way to protect us!" Now their voice was close to Steven's, sounding low and just as broken as the Mabel voice.
"And who's going to protect him?! W-we'll think of something! Who knows what they are doing to him up there?! I know! We have to save him! And we will! He could be de-"
"ENOUGH!"
Maven stopped banning the ground as they grabbed their head as they took several breaths to calm down, they know that freaking out won't help him. After several calming breaths and kissing their scraped and bloodied hands with their healing spit.
Maven stood up as they continued to slowly breath.
Maven: Don't think.
Just Trust.
Stay calm, this is not the end.
Maven looked around their surroundings to see if anything would help them. But all they could see are rocks and dirt.
Eyes open.
Breath in.
It will not lead to his de-
Maven covered their mouth and shook that thought away as they continue to look around.
I will fight, so we'll reunite.
We must not give up.
But will all I have within me, be enough?
As the fusion continued explore, their mind was soon plagued with images of Dipper. Images of the past going from the twin's childhood to the moment they arrive in Gravity Falls, Meeting Steven, Connie, and the Gems and all the adventures they've had rushed through their eyes.
What if I fail to save you?
What if you lose faith for me?
What if I can't find the way back through?
And what if I do, but can't find you?
The Fusion followed the memories, no longer caring about the area they were in and very soon all that remains is a see-through image of Dipper standing before them.
What if I take far too long, and the danger comes to claim you?
What if I'm too late to save you from your fate, and you are lost forever 'cause of me, yeah?
Tears started falling from Maven's eyes as they kneeled down towards the image Dipper as he hugged the fusion as they returned the hug in full force only for the tears to fall rapidly as Image Dipper disappears leaving only the fusion hugging themselves, unaware of four pairs of eyes from a concealed hole in the ground, the owners of those eyes looked at them with a mix of caution and sadness at the stranger, worried about whatever this stranger will bring them and their friends harm, or perhaps just another escapee from homeworld like them.
Maven: I will find a way to make sure that you're okay!
Once careful step at a time.
For you and I.
Are fragile things.
Grief and regret returning in full force to the fusion causes Maven to sit on their knees while keeping their arms wrapped around themselves in hug while the tears continue to fall while the worried thoughts of what is happing to their dear friend and brother right now, and hoping beyond hope that they will find and save him.
But right now, the fusion is letting out their shared grief.
The End.
Author's Note: Well, there's a bit of angst for ya, hope you enjoyed it MiniJen.
