Episode 475: Poké Arcade Games!
Just a small note, there will be some references to some certain games, so feel free to point them out in the reviews if you like.
A day came and went since Sora has beaten Paul again in battle, so the group has returned to Hearthome City for the Battle Arcade. Upon arriving, they bump into Barry.
"Hey, you guys! Glad I bumped into you," Barry said.
"Hey, Barry. How's it going?" Sora asked.
"Well, I would say smoothly since I finally won the Relic Badge," Barry said, showing his friends the Relic Badge. "Fantina really gave me a run for my money, but I managed to win it by the skin of my teeth."
"We knew you'd get it, Barry," Lucas said.
"Thanks. Say, what brings you lot back here? There isn't anything going on here, is there?" Barry asked.
"We came here for the Battle Arcade after we were told about it in Solaceon Town," Sora said.
"Oh, you're to battle Dahlia? I actually been there at one point," Barry said.
"Really?" Lucas asked.
"Think you can show us the way, Barry?" Kairi asked.
"Sure thing. Follow me," Barry said, leading the group to what looks like an arcade. "Huh? Huh?"
"Wow, it looks like an arcade to me!" Davis said.
"You got that, goggle man! This place has that Primeape video game that I played so much when I was little," Barry said.
"Let's go in," TK said.
With that said, everyone stepped in and saw it was indeed an arcade. There were a whole lot of people inside, playing various video games. Among them is entitled "Super Pikachu" as it features a Pikachu and another features a game called "Pokkén" which is a fighting game. Greeting the group is a slender woman with tan skin, blue eyes, and wild black hair with many yellow hair pins in it. She wears a midriff-baring yellow top with long sleeves and lacy white trim around her neck and cleavage, along with blue skinny jeans and yellow high heels. She also has trimmed, sparkling nails and a golden navel piercing.
"Hey there, everyone! Welcome to the Battle Arcade!" The woman greeted with a smile.
"Hey," the group greeted back.
"I take it that you've come to check out the arcade, huh? Well, you came to the right place because there are games and other fun activities to check out! There's a bowling alley where people and Pokémon can check out! And there are also some karaoke, batting cages, table tennis, air hockey, fools ball, a dance floor, basketball courts, and some carnival games where you can win an awesome prize!" The woman said.
"Well, the thing is, there is a reason that we came here. We came here, looking for the Aracde Star, Dahlia," Sora said.
"Is that right? Well, no need to worry, because I'm her," Dahlia said. The whole group just winced when she openly said what Dawn normally said.
"No need to worry?" Ash asked.
"Uh-oh! Another one!" Sora and Kairi said in unison.
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Dawn asked.
"And since you're looking for me, I take it that you're partaking in the Sinnoh Battle Frontier, right?" Dahlia asked.
"I'm doing that. I already took on the Battle Tower and the Battle Factory," Sora said.
"Well, you have to be really good to earn Prints from those two. Well, we can get started as soon as you're good and ready. And as long as you're here, you can enjoy the Battle Arcade to your heart's consent," Dahlia said.
"Thanks, that's what we'll do," Lucas said.
"But you mind telling me your name?" Dahlia asked.
"I'm Sora Ketchum and I came from Pallet Town," Sora introduced himself.
"Sora Ketchum? Wait, you mean the Pokémon League Champion of the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn Pokémon Leagues, the first place winner of the Pokémon Stadium Cup and the only Pokémon Trainer in Sinnoh to defeat half of Cynthia's team?" Dahlia asked, making Sora nod. "I feel super-honored to have a Trainer like you in my arcade. Hey, you and your friends are more than welcome to hang out my arcade."
"Thanks, that's real nice of you," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I made the Battle Arcade for everyone to enjoy. But let's make this official," Dahlia said as she brought out her Rotom Phone and broadcasts her message throughout the entire Battle Arcade. "Attention all patrons of the Battle Arcade! I hope all of you are having a wonderful time partaking in the fun in this facility!" All of the patrons all cheered. "Alright, that's what I like to hear! And I know this'll be what you wanna hear as well! I was challenged into a battle by an ambitious young Pokémon Trainer! And his name is Sora Ketchum!" The screen shows Sora on it, making him wince before he nervously waved.
"Hello," Sora said.
"He's come all the way from the Kanto region to participate in the Sinnoh Pokémon League and the Sinnoh Battle Frontier, and his journey has led him right here! And I am here announcing to all of you that the battle will commence shortly, and everyone will be more welcome to watch it when we enter the battlefield!" Dahlia announced, making the patrons cheer. "That's the spirit! I hope to see you all there soon!" Dahlia's screens turns off. "There. It's done."
"Did you have to do that?" Kairi asked.
"Sorry, but I am a Frontier Brain after all. And I just wanted to fire up everyone," Dahlia said.
"Well, everyone is already getting there," May said.
"But it should be fun," Chase said.
"If you excuse me, but I need to get everything set for our battle, Sora. Until then, enjoy the arcade and have fun," Dahlia said.
With that said, the group went off to enjoy what the Battle Arcade provided. Chase has taken out his Pokéballs and let out a Haunter he caught recently. It was a Gastly when he caught it, but he trained it to evolve. They went for a game featuring a Snorlax in a sumo wrestling game. There is another one in which there's a Munchlax and four Haunter on the console side. There's another game featuring an 8-bit Pikachu going up a construction site where a Primeape is throwing some barrels down where a Jigglypuff is yelling for help. Elaine went for an air hockey table as Leaf came to the same one and started playing. Riku threw a fake Pokémon at some tin bottles, knocking them down. He earned a plush Spinda for Naminé as Ash went for the batting cages.

Everyone had the time of their lives right until a message is broadcasted throughout the entire Battle Arcade.
"Attention. Will Sora Ketchum please report to the battlefield at once? The battle with Arcade Star Dahlia will now be underway," a woman's voice is heard.
"Looks like it's time," Tai said.
"Sure is," Sora T said.
With that said, Sora and Pikachu started to head for the battlefield as everyone in the entire Battle Arcade was watching the battle begin.
"Welcome to the boss level! Sora, are you ready to go?" Dahlia asked.
"Ready whenever you are," Sora said. A dark skinned young man took his position and got it underway.
"Welcome, one and all! I'm Monsignor Larvell, DJ extraordinaire, and the official referee for the battle that is to come! On my left is the Battle Arcade Star, Dahlia! And on my right is Sora Ketchum from the happening burg known as Pallet Town! The rules are simple! Each participant will be using three Pokémon, but only Sora will be allowed to change Pokémon whenever he wants to! The match will be over when all three are rendered unable to battle and there's no time limit! Let's get the battle started!" Monsignor Larvell got started as a song began playing.
Dahlia danced as she took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Medicham! Game on!" Dahlia called out. Her Pokéball opened and a Medicham came out to battle.

Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Basculegion! Let's go!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and his Basculegion came out to battle. Dahlia was awestruck by what she was seeing.
"Ooh, a Basculegion. This is the first time I have seen one in my life! I can already tell this is going to be loads of fun," Dahlia said.
"Basculegion's a Ghost-type Pokémon so that gives him an advantage since Medicham's a Psychic-type, but not only that, but Fighting-type moves has no effect on Ghost-types," Davis said.
"That's exactly right, Davis. But like any Gym Leader, Dahlia has an ace up her sleeve," Ash said.
"Basculegion! Use Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Basculegion fired a Shadow Ball at Medicham.
"Detect!" Dahlia ordered. Medicham dodged it with a Detect. "Now, show Basculegion your own Shadow Ball!" Medicham sends out a Shadow Ball, hitting him on the mark.
"That's smart. She taught Medicham Shadow Ball as a way to counter Ghost-type Pokémon. What else could she have planned?" Riku asked.
"Vee," Eevee said.
"Okay, Medicham! Use Thunder Punch!" Dahlia ordered. Medicham rushes at Basculegion with a Thunder Punch.
"Use Phantom Force!" Sora ordered. Basculegion vanishes underneath, making Medicham miss its target.
"Medicham's Thunder Punch missed," Dawn said.
"Thanks to Phantom Force," Riku said.
"What's Phantom Force?" Dawn asked.
"Phantom Force is a Ghost-type attack that allows its user to vanish for e brief moment before coming back out to land a hit. Not only that, but Phantom Force is a good move to use against Pokémon that uses moves Protect and Detect since it ignores those moves completely," Riku explained. Basculegion lands a hit onto Medicham as soon as he appeared.
"Ooh, that was a good, clean hit!" Dahlia said.
"Thanks. Okay, Basculegion! Use Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Basculegion fired a Shadow Ball and sent it over at Medicham, landing some heavy damage.
"Thunder Punch!" Dahlia ordered.
"Dodge and use Surf!" Sora ordered. Basculegion dodged Medicham's Thunder Punch and summoned a tidal wave before bringing it down.
"Use Detect!" Dahlia ordered. Medcham uses Detect to dodge Basculegion's Surf just before it could land a hit on the Meditate Pokémon. "Use Psywave!" Medicham sends out a wave of psychic energy and sends it right at the Big Fish Pokémon.
"Phantom Force!" Sora ordered. Basculegion sinks underneath again, avoiding Medicham's attack.
"Stay on your toes, Medicham. Basculegion will come out from anywhere at any moment," Dahlia said. Medicham nodded, knowing she was right. Medicham looked around, not knowing where the Big Fish Pokémon was going to come out. Basculegion came out and lands a hit onto the Meditation Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage.
"Great! Wrap it up with Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Basculegion fired Shadow Ball, hitting the Meditation Pokémon on the mark and resulted in a knockout.
"Medicham is unable to battle! Basculegion wins, y'all!" Monsignor Larvell announced to everyone as everyone all cheered. Dahlia called back Medicham and smiled.
"You did great, Medicham. You earned some rest," Dahlia said. She looked right at Sora. "That was fun, Sora! But let's take this up a level and see if you'll stand a ghost of a chance against my next one!" She took out a Dusk Ball and threw it. "Dusknoir! Game on!" Her Dusk Ball opened and a Dusknoir came out to battle.
"She's sending out a Dusknoir next?" JP asked.
"Well, it makes sense for her to send Dusknoir out since Ghost-type Pokémon are weak against Ghost-type attacks," TK said.
"That's true, TK, but Dusknoir is also a slow-moving Pokémon, so Basculegion has the advantage when it comes to speed," Barry said.
"Something tells me she isn't too concerned about that," Sora T said, noticing how much she was smiling.
"You still good to go, Basculegion?" Sora asked.
"Legion," Basculegion answered.
"That's what I like to hear. Use Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered.
"Use Shadow Punch to block it!" Dahlia ordered. Dusknoir uses Shadow Punch to block Basculegion's Shadow Ball.
"Shadow Punch made a good shield to block Shadow Ball, but here's a move I know she won't block," Sora said in his thoughts. He called out loud, "Phantom Force!" Basculegion sank underneath once again.
"You're not the only one who can do that, Sora! Dusknoir, you use Phantom Force, too!" Dahlia ordered. Dusknoir sank underneath as well.
"Uh-oh," Sora said.
"So that must she had planned against Basculegion," Joe said. Basculegion came out and didn't find Dusknoir anywhere. The Gripper Pokémon came out from the void and smacked Basculegion hard, dealing a super-effective hit.
"Use Shadow Punch!" Dahlia ordered. Dusknoir unleashed Shadow Punch, hitting Basculegion, resulting in a knockout.
"Basculegion's unable to battle! Dusknoir wins y'all!" Monsignor Larvell announced.
"That was great, Dusknoir! Knew you'd do it!" Dahlia said. Sora called back Basculegion.
"You did your best, Basculegion. Get some rest for right now," Sora said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Overqwil! It's your turn!" His Pokéball opened and Overqwil came out to battle. Dahlia was awestruck by the sight of Overqwil.
"Wow, another awesome Pokémon under your belt! I gotta say, I'm liking this match a whole lot more!" Dahlia said.
"Overqwil's a Dark-type, and that's a good match-up against Dusknoir," Elaine said.
"Yeah, so Sora should turn it around," Ethan said.
"Okay, Overqwil! Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Overqwil fired a Dark Pulse and sends it right at Dusknoir, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Dark Pulse again!"
"Phantom Force!" Dahlia ordered. Dusknoir uses Phantom Force to dodge Overqwil's Dark Pulse.
"Keep your eyes peeled, Overqwil," Sora said.
"Qwil," Overqwil said. Dusknoir came out from behind and lands a hit onto Overqwil, but ends up being poisoned in the process.
"Dusknoir! Use Shadow Punch!" Dahlia ordered. Dusknoir lands a shadowy punch onto Overqwil, landing a hit. "Now, use Fire Punch!" Dusknoir lands a Fire Punch onto Overqwil. Dusknoir is hurt from its poisoning.
"Hey, what's wrong with Dusknoir?" Meiko asked.
"Meowth?" Little Mei asked.
"Dusknoir's poisoned," Kairi said.
"It must have happened when Dusknoir used Phantom Force," Izzy said.
"I agree. Overqwil's ability must be Poison Point. It inflicts a poison status upon physical contact," Ryo said. Sora noticed Overqwil being poisoned.
"Dusknoir had to get poisoned from Overqwil's spikes. That gives me an idea. Overqwil! Barb Barrage!" Overqwil fired spike projectiles from his body and struck Dusknoir repeatedly. "I knew that would work."
"That looks like it did some heavy damage, but I thought Ghost-type Pokémon didn't take much damage from Poison-type attacks," Kari pointed out.
"They don't. Sora figured Dusknoir had to be poisoned from Overqwil's Poison Point, so Sora had him fire Barb Barrage on Dusknoir since Barb Barrage's power goes up whenever the opponent has a status condition," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Okay, Overqwil! Use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Overqwil fired Hydro Pump at Dusknoir, dealing some additional damage. Dusknoir's stamina is sapped by the poisoning. "Use Barb Barrage!"
"Phantom Force!" Dahlia ordered. Dusknoir uses Phantom Force to avoid Overqwil's Barb Barrage.
"Fire your Barb Barrage as soon as Dusknoir comes out. Just wait for that chance," Sora said. Overqwil does exactly that. Overqwil waits for the Gripper Pokémon to come out and attack. Overqwil didn't wait for too long since Dusknoir came out and prepared to attack, but Overqwil fired another Barb Barrage right at Dusknoir, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Dark Pulse!" Overqwil fired a Dark Pulse, finishing off Dusknoir. The Gripper Pokémon layed on its back, beaten.
"Dusknoir is unable to battle! Overqwil wins, y'all!" Monsignor Larvell announced.
"Dahlia lost another one, leaving just one more left to use," Zoe said. Dahlia called back her Dusknoir and smiled.
"You did great, Dusknoir. No need to worry. You earned your rest," Dahlia said. She looked right at Sora and laughed.
"What's so funny?" Sora asked.
"I'm laughing because I'm having so much fun in this match. This is the most fun I have ever had, and you're the most fun opponent I ever had! Now, it's time for the final boss!" Dahlia said, taking out another Pokéball and threw it. "Ludicolo! Game on!" Her Pokéball opened and her Ludicolo came out to battle.
"A Ludicolo?" Dawn asked, taking out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.

It's known for its love of dancing. Whenever Ludicolo hears the sound of festive music, it cannot help itself but break out into a dance.
"Since Ludicolo's a Grass-type, Sora has the advantage," Dawn said.
"Sure does," Roxas said.
"Ludicolo! Start up with your Rain Dance!" Dahlia ordered. Ludicolo summoned rain clouds and it began to rain.
"Barb Barrage!" Sora ordered. Overqwil fired Barb Barrage right at the Carefree Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Dahlia ordered. Ludicolo dodged by running at a high speed.
"Ludicolo is moving really fast!" Barry said.
"That's because of Swift Swim!" Riku said.
"Swift Swim?" Barry asked.
"Swift Swim is an ability that allows a Pokémon to move faster in the rain than normal. Of course, that makes it a whole lot more difficult to battle," Riku said.
"Magical Leaf!" Dahlia ordered. Ludicolo fired a Magical Leaf, hitting Overqwil. "Now, use Ice Beam!" Ludicolo fired an Ice Beam, freezing Overqwil solid.
"Try to use Barb Barrage to shatter that ice!" Sora called out. Overqwil tried to break out of the ice, but Overqwil was too cold to move and the ice was too strong. "Use Hydro Pump!" Ludicolo fired a Hydro Pump, hitting Overqwil with a powerful Hydro Pump, shattering the ice and knocked out Overqwil.
"Overqwil is unable to battle! Ludicolo wins, y'all!" Monsignor Larvell announced. Sora called back his Overqwil.
"You did your best, Overqwil. You should rest up," Sora said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "You're going in now, Sneasler!" Sora's Pokéball opened and Sneasler came out to battle. Dahlia smiled.
"Wow! Another rare Pokémon on my lap! I really like you, Sora! You're full of so much surprises, and I love surprises! I can't wait to see what other surprises you have, Sora," Dahlia said.
"Okay, Sneasler! Dire Claw!" Sora ordered. Sneasler's claws gave off a purple glow and ran toward Ludicolo with a Dire Claw. Ludicolo dodged, but Sneasler came at Ludicolo with lightning speed, landing a hit.
"Whoa! That's fast!" Tommy exclaimed.
"I guess Sora was ready for a speedy Pokémon to battle. And Sneasler is a fast Pokémon," Brendan said.
"That was a great hit, Sneasler! Use Poison Jab!" Sora ordered. Sneasler jabbed the Carefree Pokémon with a Poison Jab. "Use Dire Claw!" Sneasler lands a Dire Claw, dealing a critical hit onto Ludicolo.
"Use Ice Beam!" Dahlia ordered. Ludicolo fired an Ice Beam at the Free Climb Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Sneasler jumped by doing a backflip. Sneasler lands on his feet. "Focus Blast!" Sneasler forms a ball of energy in his claws and sends it right at Ludicolo. "Use Slash!" Sneasler slashed at Ludicolo.
"Use Mega Punch!" Dahlia ordered. Ludicolo lands a Mega Punch onto Sneasler. "Mega Punch again!"
"Dodge and use Poison Jab!" Sora ordered. Sneasler jabbed Ludicolo with a Poison Jab. The rain stopped.
"Rain Dance!" Dahlia ordered. Ludicolo summoned another rain cloud and it began to rain again.
"Poison Jab again!" Sora ordered. Sneasler tried another Poison Jab, but Ludicolo dodged by running. "Dire Claw!" Sneasler dashed at Ludicolo with a Dire Claw and lands a slash onto Ludicolo, dealing some heavy damage, resulting in a paralysis. "Dire Claw again!" Sneasler moves in to land another hit with Dire Claw again.
"Dodge it!" Dahlia called out. Ludicolo tried to dodge, but Ludicolo's paralysis kicked in, unable to move, so Sneasler lands another Dire Claw and rolled backwards. Ludicolo was knocked out.
"Ludicolo is unable to battle! Sneasler wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town, y'all!" Mon Signore Larvell announced as everyone cheered hard as Dahlia called back her Ludicolo and she walked up to Sora.
"That was the funnest battle I have ever had. You earned your victory and rep! So, I'm giving you the Arcade Print!" Dahlia said, giving Sora a printout of Sora and Dahlia's mugshots. Sora accepts it.
"Thanks, Dahlia. I enjoyed our match as much as you did," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I'm glad you did," Dahlia said.
Now that Sora has earned his third Frontier Print from Dahlia, he needs only two more and the Gym Battle in the Canlave City Gym is getting closer than ever, so stay tuned if you wanna see an epic battle.
