Willow and Oz had been in the Library studying together when Ms. Calendar had come in, she'd asked them to leave since she needed to have a private conversation with Giles, who hadn't looked happy at her saying that. The teens had silently gathered their belongings and left.

"I hope everything is alright with them." Willow said awkwardly as they walked down the hall. "That's the second time she's said she needed to have a private conversation with him."

"She's upset." Oz confirmed. "Where should we study now?"

"Well, we could work on analyzing the gifts Xander gave us in the lab where Ms. Calendar and I have been working on our project." Willow suggested. "You haven't seen it yet and it's supercool, I can't believe someone managed to create that decades ago, even if they did cheat." Referring to the use of Magic to bridge the gap in technology to get the robot actually working.

"Sure." The easy going and laconic guitar player answered. Willow liked the shade of blue he'd dyed his hair today and he'd commented on her new outfit making her eyes look greener and smiling slightly at her. Okay, so Oz could give a Vulcan lessons in minimal facial expressions, but Willow was enjoying learning to read those expressions. "Backpack." He hooked a thumb over his shoulder at his backpack, indicting he had his 'phasers' in there. Willow unlocked the door to the lab and Oz followed her in. He stopped and stared at the open robot chassis laying on the lab table. "Beautiful." He breathed, awestruck at the sight of the gears and wires exposed.

"It is, isn't it?" Willow agreed. "An engineered creation, intricate and complex."

Ox approached the lab table, setting his bag to the side and leaning in to get a better look. "Very." He agreed.

Willow smiled slightly and giggled. Oz looked up, surprised and wondering what was funny.

"I just realized, Xander could never appreciate this kind of beauty like we can. It's just not his thing and that made me realize, I don't actually know what he would find beautiful. Except girls in general, I mean." Willow's smile turned wistful. "I'm also realizing it never occured to me to ask. About anything, really. I think I've learned more about you in the month since we started dating than I know about Xander and that's because I ask you about yourself and you share yourself with me. And this is something I can share with you, in a way I never could with Xander."

"Question." Oz stated, his way of asking if he could ask her a question.

"Sure." Willow agreed.

"Programming?"

"It's copied on my laptop." She set her own bag down and pulled it out. She soon had the robot's programming pulled up and Oz pulled up a stool and began studying it.

"Gaps." He murmured.

"Yeah, we think those gaps are where he used Magic to imprint something of himself." Willow answered. "It didn't quite gel and created what Ms. Calendar called a compulsion. Plus, he was likely insane."

"Scary." Oz muttered. "Mrs. Summers."

"Yeah, she'd have been his next victim." Willow nodded, shivering at the memory, the horror, of realizing there were dead bodies in the closet in Ted's bunker. And that if Ted the robot had his way, Mrs. Summers would have been number five. She pulled out one of the Spider Bites. "One of these little babies overloaded him, what they put out is strong. Much stronger than something this small should be able to generate. Unless -."

"Vibranium." Oz agreed. "Magic made it real."

"Oh, it had to have." Willow agreed. "In the comics vibranium is described as a metal that's known for its ability to absorb, store, and release energy. Electricity is energy and given what the one I used packed, I think it must be able to handle a lot, I mean a lot, of energy. Especially given the size of these things. If we can figure out the atomic weight and how to replicate it or something similar - the applications are staggering."

"Change the world." Oz said soberly. "Wakandan technology is advanced."

"Decades ahead of the rest of the world in the comics." Willow agreed. "Flying cars, maglev trains, holographic interfaces, nanotech. All of it might be possible if we can crack the secret of vibranium and figure out how to artificially replicate it. There are a number of synthetic metals already, but vibranium has the potential to surpass them all."

"Best gift ever." Oz grinned. "Puzzle."

"Yeah, one of the most fun puzzles ever." Willow agreed. "Sure, Xander's right, if we can figure it out we'll get rich, but figuring it out - that's the fun part."

"Together." He grabbed his backpack and pulled out his 'phasers'. "Best date ever."

"Here's to many, best dates ever." Willow set the Spider Bite next to Oz's 'phasers'. "Time to open these babies up and start figuring out what makes them tick."

The two geniuses happily bent over their gifts and began the long, possibly years long task, of unraveling the biggest, best, most enjoyable puzzle either could ever imagine tackling.

Well, until they got to the part where they could then build new things, once they understood the puzzle.
