A couple of days after the battle with the Big Bad Wolf, the people in the village of Magnolia celebrated as they finally got rid of their problem once and for all. For the first time in forever, they weren't feeling fear.
They didn't have to have a curfew. They could all stay out as late as they wanted to and not be worried about their safety. The huntsmen were finally able to rest not have to be out all night in fear that something might possibly happen to them and their family members.
Everybody was just in peace.
All except one person who suffered the most...Lucy Heartfilia.
After the event she passed out once it was confirmed that Gajeel died. Lucy was overwhelmed by all the stress of trying to escape from Gajeel, and the wolves, and make it to Rogue's house safely. She also was running a lot which was tiring for her.
God her feet were killing her!
This aching pain caused her to feel discomfort in her sleep. She couldn't even relax after all that happened. She started to hear the sound of people walking and talking.
Who could it have been?
Lucy opened her eyes to a bright light. She started to groan and rub her eyes to enhance her vision. When she sat up from her bed, she looked around to see she was in the doctor's office.
How did she get here?
"She's up!" she heard a familiar voice. She looked at where the sweet angelic voice came from and it was none other than Levy McGarden, her best friend. She teared up at the sight of gazing upon her. She hadn't seen her in almost 2 years. There she was standing right in front of her.
"Levy!" Lucy said.
"Lucy!" Levy cried out as she ran towards her and gave her a big hug. This was the warmest and most caring hug that Lucy had felt in a while. Sure, there was Rogue, but she hadn't even seen him enough to feel warm and secure like this.
Levy departed from Lucy and started checking her, "Oh my God, I thought you were dead!"
"I thought so too!" Lucy agreed.
"You slept for two days straight after we set fire to the Big Bad Wolf's secret hideout," Levy exclaimed.
"Two days?" Lucy questioned, surprised.
"Yes, two days! You passed out on the spot when you saw the house was on fire," Levy answered.
"Oh my," Lucy said in disbelief. The sudden thought of her children and Rogue came into mind. She started to touch her stomach to make sure her baby was still there. She definitely had her big bump. She couldn't tell if the baby was okay or not. Then she thought of Metalicana.
"Where is my baby?" Lucy asked, referring to Metalicana.
"Is he safe?" she teared up.
"Shh, shh, it's okay, the baby is fine!" Levy assured as Lucy calmed down for a second.
"What about Rogue?" Lucy asked as Levy went silent. "Levy?" Lucy sternly asked. Levy looked down at the floor. "Levy, what happened to Rogue? Where's he at?" Lucy asked once again.
"Lu-Chan...Rogue is in the jailhouse being tied up again by the chains the capital sent to us," Levy answered.
"HE'S WHAT?!" Lucy screamed. "I have to go get him!" Lucy said as she adjusted herself before getting up out of bed.
"Lucy, you need to rest!" Levy said trying to sit her down.
"No, Levy, I need to go get him before something bad happens to him," Lucy argued as she was going against Levy.
The two women ruffled around for a bit before Lucy used her pregnancy strength to push her petite best friend off of her. She and Levy both looked at each other shocked and too stunned to speak. Lucy had never pushed her best friend like that and she had never had this unknown strength of hers. Before Levy could utter a word, Lucy made a run for it outside of the doctor's office.
"Lucy-" Levy screamed before shortly throwing up. She looked at her vomit in disgust at the ground as this had been happening for weeks and it was starting to get on her nerves. Levy didn't know what was happening to her.
She would randomly throw up throughout the day, she had a distinct taste for certain foods, her boobs were hurting, she had headaches from here and there, and she missed her period. Her sheets haven't turned red in weeks. Levy thought she might have been pregnant but her mother told her that due to all the stress, her period wasn't going to come until she calmed down. With all of that going on with the wolf investigation, people missing and being killed, and everybody calling her crazy was putting her through a lot of stress.
This wasn't the first time she missed her period due to stress, but this was the first time she had major side effects from it. At the time when it did happen for the first couple of times, she had nothing to be worried about because she wasn't having sexual intercourse with Gajeel. But when she did start doing it with him they would rarely use protection. He would pull out in time before he released his semen.
She had never gotten a pregnancy scare until now. Levy was nervous about getting checked due to the possible results. If she was pregnant and her parents found out they would kill her. She was supposed to be protecting her innocence till she was married off to a nobleman. She was all for it until she met Gajeel.
He was so mysterious when she first saw him. She thought he would never go for a girl like her. Especially with all the rumors going around about her being crazy. A lot of the men in their village was passing her due to her being unsuitable to being a wife. They didn't want to deal with the trauma she would bring along in the household.
Levy was sad when she came to realization about this. She thought she would grow old and die alone with no children to continue her families bloodline. She was her parents only daughter and the fact should couldn't give them what they wanted was hurtful.
Levy started to tear up at the thought of it. Before she could truly breakdown, the young maiden, Wendy Marvel entered the room. "Oh my God!" she said in worry.
"Levy are you okay?" she rushed over to help her up.
"I'm fine Wendy," Levy assured as Wendy helped her off the ground.
Wendy looked down to see vomit and thought out loud, "Did Lucy have an accident?"
"No, Lucy ran out of the office to go to the jailhouse. This is from me," Levy admitted, embarrassed. Something didn't seem right to Wendy. "Let's get you checked before you leave," Wendy said ushering her to the test room. She suspected something was wrong with Levy and she was going to find out.
As Lucy ran through the village to get to the jailhouse she could see everybody catching site of her and looking scared. It was as if they had seen somebody come back from the dead. They had a right to look in fear due to her missing for almost two years. Lucy was out of breath when she barely reached the jailhouse. Before she could entered she had to catch her breath.
She barged through the door demanding Rogue, "Where is he?"
All the huntsmen that were there looked at her with a mixture of worried, shocked, and guilt. "Where is he?" she asked again as she looked around for him.
"Where is Rogue?" she cried out.
The huntsmen not wanting to say anything, they called for Gildarts: "Gildarts, Red is here to see you!"
Not long after, Gildarts came out of his office. When he seen Lucy he looked worried.
"Is everything okay?" he asked trying to comfort her until Lucy backed away.
"No, everything is not okay. How come the first thing I hear when I wake up is that Rogue is chained up and my child is held in custody?" Lucy argued.
Gildarts sighed, "Red, your child is safe and he is with the McGarden's Family. People who we know you are familiar with. To answer your question about Rogue, he's being held captive because we think he is still the werewolf."
Lucy looked confused, "How is that possible if you seen him and Gajeel go at it with each other?"
Gildarts looked around to see that his fellow huntsmen were ease dropping on their conversation and he didn't want to have this get to the public. People already knew about Rogue being taken into custody but they didn't know the reason. Not many people questioned it either.
"Red, can we please discuss this in my office?" Gildarts whispered.
"Why can't we talk about it now?" Lucy argued.
"We can! I would just prefer to discuss such matters privately," Gildarts pleaded. Lucy looked around at the huntsmen staring at the two of them and trying to pick up on any possible information to spread to the public. Lucy not having a good feeling about what Gildarts was about to expose to her she agreed, "Alright!"
Gildarts directed her towards his office which was far away from where they had their fall out. As they walked away Lucy could hear all the whispers they were talking amongst themselves. She knew it wasn't good and she felt uneasy about it.
When she made it to Gildarts office, he shut the door behind the two before pulling out her seat. Lucy sat down slowly trying to make adjustments due to her big belly. He pushed her in and then made a way to his seat.
"Okay, for starters, how are you holding up? I forgot to ask back there," Gildarts asked out of concern.
"I'm fine, thank you for asking!" Lucy answered.
"Good...now to talk about Rogue," Gildarts said as he started to pull out files of him. "We have had history of him as we suspected he was the wolf for a long time," Gildarts started.
"Well, I can tell you, he's not! I know that for a fact," Lucy argued.
"Lucy...I'm gonna need you to be honest about your whole experience encountering the wolf. If it is Rogue please tell me now rather than later," Gildarts sternly spoke. "He can't hurt you if that's what you are worried about," Gildarts assured.
Lucy took a deep breath, "But it's not him Gildarts! When I was attacked by the wolf that day, it wasn't Rogue who I saw in the woods. We had depart before I shortly ran into the wolf, but he wasn't in wolf form. He was a human!" Lucy stated as she thought back to what happened then.
"What did he look like?" Gildarts asked.
"He was tall, had long black spiky hair, tan brown skin, pierced eyebrows, red bloody eyes, sharp teeth, and a muscular shaped body. He went by the name of Gajeel Redfox! I remember when I seen him for the first time he looked very odd to me. I had never seen him around the village, I seen no one this far out into the woods, and he looked as if he had come from somewhere else," Lucy said as she described his physical appearance.
"Gajeel you say," Gildarts said.
"Yes, it was him! When I made it back home he was pretending to be my grandmother. He wasn't doing a very good job at it since her whole appearance looked off. He was able to change it back correctly within a snap of a finger."
"When did you catch on?" Gildarts asked.
"When he admitted that he was going to eat me. I went to go grab my ax only to find out that my grandmother was already dead. When he showed his true appearance, he looked like man and a wolf. You could barely make out his face because it looked like a wolves face. I thought it might have been Rogue but it wasn't. I swung my ax at him, I burned my house, and I still wasn't able to escape him. He hunt me down and brought me back to his place where he raped me and impregnated me with my first child," Lucy said as she began to tear up in the end.
"Gildarts, he took my away purity!" Lucy cried. "That's something I'm not gonna be able to get back."
"I understand and I'm sorry for your loss! Did you ever try to escape?" Gildarts asked.
"Yes, many times! He had good hearing and he could track my scent down. I remember Alzack was injured and he tried to get me back to the village until Gajeel attacked him. Then he threatened to kill everybody in the village if I planned to run away again," Lucy answered.
"And you just kept put?" Gildarts asked as Lucy nodded her head.
"Yes, and I thought I was doomed until Rogue came to the rescue. He wanted to bring me back to the village but he knew the damage Gajeel would cause so we had to be smart about it. It took a while but as you could see I escaped and returned back to the village safe and sound."
"So Rogue saved you?" Gildarts asked in disbelief.
"Yes, how many times do I have to say this?" Lucy asked, irritated.
"My apologies, I'm not trying to stress you out," Gildarts assured.
"There is something we do need to discuss about Rogue and your children," Gildarts said directing his attention towards her belly.
"What about them?" Lucy asked.
"For starters, with your children...I'm assuming they're both the wolves children as well," Gildarts assumed.
"Well, the first one is, the second one, I don't know if it might be his or Rogue's. I wanted to get away from Gajeel before the baby was born because I feel he would have started to take notice in his appearance if the baby was Rogue's," Lucy truthfully stated.
"Oh..." Gildarts said a little too stunned to speak. "I see!"
"How far along are you?" Gildarts asked.
"I'm very close to giving birth. He or she could come anytime soon," Lucy answered.
"Alright! Well, I have a huge concern for your children," Gildarts sighed.
"What might that be?"
"Lucy, you do understand we have had a wolf problem for over hundreds of years?"
"Yes."
"And with your children who are part wolf along with Rogue, they're a huge danger to this village," Gildarts admitted.
"Wait, what's wrong with Rogue?" Lucy asked.
Gildarts rubbed his fingers through his hair. "Red, Rogue was bitten by Gajeel," Gildarts revealed.
"Bitten?" Lucy questioned.
"Yes, bitten! I'm not sure if you're aware of this but when someone is bitten by a werewolf they too will turn into a wolf," Gildarts informed.
"Are you sure that's not just a myth Gildarts? There has been no proof of such a thing happening," Lucy argued.
"I know, but we can't take anymore risk of people getting killed, Red!" Gildarts exclaimed.
"So what are you suggesting?" Lucy sternly asked.
"I don't want to say it aloud, but I'm suggesting we simply get rid of the problem before it gets worse," Gildarts said as this angered Lucy.
"Gets worse? Gildarts, my children are sweet innocent creatures along with Rogue, you cannot possibly kill them because of their fathers actions," Lucy argued.
"You're right..." Gildarts admitted, "I can't kill them till they do something wrong. Plus this going to bite you in the ass later on Ms. Heartfilia because people are going to start to realize the problem might be arising as they watch these children grow. You can take the wolf out of the woods but can't take the wolf out of them. It's going to be their natural instinct to kill and hunt and I don't think you understand how bad that can get in the long run with no proper training on how to control their instincts," Gildarts explained.
"But if we the people come together to stop the issue before it gets worse then we can have a different outcome," Lucy said.
"You know what," Gildarts laughed off, "To satisfy your wants, I will let Rogue go and drop this whole thing with him and the babies. And I'll let you see for yourself how bad this going to get in the long run. But if he or any of these children step out of line or do something wrong, they'll all be executed. They can go back to Hell where they belong!" Gildarts promised as Lucy felt a rate of unsureness.
"You can leave now and comeback by the end of the week to get Rogue," Gildarts excused her as Lucy got up to leave his office. She felt uneasy and what Gildarts told her. He basically threatened to take their lives if something were to happen. As Lucy made her way out of the jailhouse she could feel all eyes gazing upon her.
She didn't like everybody looking at her. Not for something like this. Before she could leave, she had seen the McGarden Family waiting for her in the lobby. There was Levy, her parents, and Metalicana in their arms as they waited for her.
When she had seen them, nothing but tears slid from her eyes. She was truly happy to see people who cared deeply for her and her family. "She's back!" Levy said as they all looked up.
"Oh my God, sweetheart are you okay?" Mrs. McGarden asked in worry. She quickly got up from her seat with Metalicana in hand and hugged Lucy. Mr. McGarden followed along with Levy who looked down.
"Hmm!" Lucy shook her head as she hugged them back.
"We thought something happened to you. Don't ever runaway like that again!" Mrs. McGarden sternly spoke. It was the first time she had proper authority in a long time and it felt nice.
"Yes ma'am"
"Okay, now let's go home and get you and the baby settled in. You can stay with us!" Mr. McGarden said as they all departed from one another. They headed out the jailhouse as Levy stayed back.
Lucy looked back at her, "Levy are you coming?"
Levy stood there in a strance as she rubbed her belly.
"Levy..." Lucy repeated. She finally snapped out of the zone and focused in on her.
"Yes, Lu-Chan, I'm coming!" she said leaving with them.
