Chapter 5: Old Odyssey
When the heroes made it the next floating island, they find themselves on the small cliff and look at the view of the sea.
"Woah, this must be Old Odyssey, the third floating island." Janet said.
"Woah, this is so amazing!" SpongeBob said.
"Poyo!" Kirby said.
"I can always feel the breeze," said Patrick.
"Nice air." Sandy said.
"Alright fellas, we gotta find Taranza and save King Dedede. So stick with us." Ethan said.
Just then, Janet notice that Patrick was on the railroad track and the train was chugging right into the pink starfish.
"Patrick! Look out!" Janet screamed.
Patrick then noticed the train and he gets ran over, making the heroes shocked.
"Patrick!" SpongeBob screamed as he ran over to him, "Are you okay?"
"Yes I am, SpongeBob. Ooh, i'm in so much pain." Patrick mumbled.
"Don't worry, Patrick. I got it covered!" Ethan said before using healing magic to heal Patrick Star.
"Thanks," said Patrick.
"No problem." Ethan said, "Those trains are called Waddle Dee Trains, when you stepped on the railroad track, it'll might run over you. So be careful!"
"Yeah, let's go!" Sandy said.
So the heroes started to run while avoiding the Waddle Dee Trains and fighting against the enemies. Just then, the heroes came upon the cannon.
"Hey, a cannon. I wonder where it leads?" Janet wondered.
Kirby hopped onto the cannon and gets blasted up into the air.
"Kirby!" They screamed and they all jumped into the cannon to go after him.
Once they had landed on the ground, they noticed the miracle fruit that was hanging on the vine.
"Kirby, there's another Miracle Fruit." Janet said.
Kirby smiled and he jumps into the Miracle Fruit, which turns him into Hypernova Kirby.
"Alright, let's move!" Ethan said.
The heroes then continued on their journey across the small cliffs, Janet noticed the
Waddle Dee Train chugging out from the tunnel before looking down and realized that they're on a railroad track.
"Guys! There's a train coming!" Janet said.
The heroes looked down at the tracks and notices a train that is coming straight towards them.
Luckily, Kirby jumps behind them and uses his Hypernova powers to suck up the train and into his mouth.
"Nice work, Kirby!" Ethan said.
"Poyo!" Kirby said.
As the heroes continued on their way, they heard a loud screeching coming from nowhere.
"Do you guys hear that?" Bandana asks.
"Sounds like a loud scream," said Patrick.
They heard it again before turning around and saw three birds standing on the cliffs.
The first bird was green, the second bird was blue, and the other bird was purple.
"What is that?" Sandy asks.
"Those are the Gigantic Chicks," said Ethan.
"How are we gonna attack them?" Bandana Dee asks.
Just then, Janet looks at the turnip that is stuck in the ground, then gets an idea.
"Kirby, use your hypernova to pull the turnips out from the ground and aim at one of the birds." Janet told him and Kirby nodded.
The first gigantic chick came flew into the scene and Kirby started to pull the turnip out from the ground with his Hypernova ability, which causes to fly into the chick and loses his feathers before falling down.
"One down, two to go!" Ethan said.
The second chick came swooshing in before getting kicked out by Kirby with his Hypernova ability when he pulls the turnip out from the ground.
"One more to go!" Bandana Dee said.
Then the third chick came flying into the scene. The Kirby was about to launch the turnip into the purple chick, but it misses when the third chick dodged it.
"You missed, Kirby!" Ethan said.
"Don't give up now, defeat the chick!" SpongeBob yelled.
Kirby smiled and he starts sucking the turnips out from the ground and lands right into the third chick, causing him to fall when he loses his feathers.
"You did it, Kirby! You fought the giant chicks!" Janet said.
"Yeah, new let's get a move on!" Sandy said.
The heroes continued walking on their path to find King Dedede and they entered the green tunnels.
"Hey, we forgot to introduce ourselves to you two. My name's SpongeBob, and that's Patrick Star and Sandy Cheeks." SpongeBob introduced to Kirby and Bandana.
"Nice to meet you three. I'm Bandana Waddle Dee, but you can call me Bandana Dee or Bandana. And that's Kirby, my best friend." Bandana Dee said.
"Poyo!" Kirby said.
Before the heroes continued their journey through the tunnel, a big guy with an enormous hammer came stomping in.
"Ah! Who's that guy?" Patrick said, panicking.
"That's Bonkers, he can smash or swing anything with his hammer." Ethan told them.
Bonkers started to throw coconut bombs at them, Janet uses her force field power to shield themselves from exploding coconuts.
"Guys, watch for the exploding coconuts. It'll might blow you up!" Janet said to them.
Ethan fired fireballs at the hammer guy from his magic wand while SpongeBob used bubble bash to hit him.
"Mega freeze!" Janet said before firing ice at the hammer guy, causing him to shiver.
"Now the final attack!" Sandy yelled.
Kirby pulled his cutter ability and turns into Cutter Kirby, then throws his sharped boomerangs at Bonkers, defeating him.
"Yes!" Patrick said.
Kirby reject his cutter ability and sallowed Bonkers, turning him into hammer Kirby.
"No way, it's Hammer Kirby!" Ethan said.
"Cool!" SpongeBob said.
As the heroes exited the green tunnels they find themselves high on the dry cliffs and look at the sunset and floating rocks.
"Wow, look at the sunset. It's beautiful, isn't it?" Janet said to them.
"Yeah. But look, we're up high!" SpongeBob said.
"Okay, try not to look down just like we're on the Dreamstalk. Ok?" Ethan said.
"Got it," said Bandana Dee.
Suddenly, Ethan noticed the pillar that begins to tumble and it started to fall right onto Patrick!
"Patrick!" SpongeBob screamed before running and pushed him to avoid being hit by a falling pillar.
"SpongeBob, you saved my life." Patrick said to him.
"Aw. Thanks, Patrick." SpongeBob replied.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you something. Watch out for those falling pillars, if you do, it'll might fall on you. Let's go!" Ethan said.
As the heroes avoid being crushed by the falling pillars, a flaming creature stood in front of them.
"Who's that?" Patrick asks.
"That's Hot Head, he can spit out fire at everyone." Ethan said.
"Yeah, just like King Neptune did with Krabs." SpongeBob said.
Hot Head spit out fire and the heroes dodged it, but Patrick ended up getting his bottom on fire.
"Ahh-ha-ha-ha!" Patrick screamed.
"Don't worry, Patrick. I got this!" Janet said as she used ice power to cool Patrick's butt down.
"Oh, thanks Janet." Patrick said.
"At all times," replied Janet.
Kirby then started sucking Hot Head into his mouth and turns into Fire Kirby.
"Oh yeah! It's Fire Kirby, he can shoot fire at enemies now!" Janet said.
"Yeah!" SpongeBob said.
Just then, Ethan noticed Taranza was heading to the icy mountains.
"Guys, look! Taranza is heading toward the mountains." Ethan said.
"But how are we gonna get to the mountains? It looks far away." Sandy said.
Just then, Ethan & Janet noticed a warp star floating in the midair.
"Look! There's a warp star again!" Janet said.
"It'll help us get to the mountains to find Taranza." Ethan said.
"What's a warp star?" Patrick asks.
"Well, Patrick. A warp star can fly into several locations."
"Oh."
"Now, let's get onto the star and catch Taranza" Janet told them.
So the heroes got onto the warp star and they fly straight towards the mountains.
As they landed, they find themselves on the mountains that is very chilly.
"Woo, it's very cold." Ethan said.
"Yeah, I should've brought my jacket along," said Janet.
"Y-yeah, so do we." Patrick said.
Luckily, Kirby use his fire ability to warm up the heroes who were freezing.
"Thanks, Kirby." Janet said.
"Poyo!" Kirby said.
As the heroes continued walking down the path while keeping themselves warm, a gust of wind came blowing in.
"Everyone, hang on!" Ethan said.
As everyone tries to hang on, they ended getting blown away and landed into the pile of snow.
"Oh man, that was a crazy ride." Patrick said.
"But at least we're saved." SpongeBob said.
"Yeah, I'd almost got blown away," said Bandana Dee.
"Come on, let's move on." Janet said.
While the heroes walked down the cold path before Patrick looked at the Waddle Dees skiing down from the igloo.
"Look, those little creature are skiing down the hills." Patrick said, pointing at it.
"It looks like they're having fun," said SpongeBob.
"I've always wanted to go skiing with them," said Bandana Dee.
"Poyo!" Kirby said while jumping.
"I know you guys would, but we have to follow Taranza and save King Dedede, remember?" Ethan said.
"Right!" SpongeBob and Patrick said.
All of a sudden, Janet noticed a Waddle Dee was rolling a snowball and it got bigger and bigger until it became a giant snowball.
"Woah, that's a huge snowball." Janet said to herself
Then the Waddle Dee pushes the big snowball down the hill and is rolling straight toward them.
"Guys! A huge snowball is rolling straight towards us!"
The heroes noticed it and Ethan stepped behind them.
"Don't worry, fellas. I got this!" Ethan said before he shot laser beams at the giant snowball from his magic wand, causing it to explode.
"Thanks, Ethan." Janet said.
"My pleasure," said Ethan.
"I didn't know magic wands had laser beams."
"Me neither."
Patrick then noticed a creature who was about to spit fire at the snowman's head.
"Look, guys. That creature's gonna hurt the snowman." Patrick said, pointing at them.
The heroes turned and saw it.
"That's Flame Galboros, he can shoot fire at anyone." Ethan told them.
"Yeah, let's take care of him!" Sandy said.
The heroes jumped into action to save the snowman's head from the hot creature.
"Leave that snowman's head alone!" Ethan told the creature.
"Poyo!" Kirby said.
The Flame Galboros looks at them and he spits fire at them, Ethan used energy force to shield themselves from getting burned.
"Okay guys, whatever you do, don't get all burnt up. Let's do this!" Janet said.
Ethan shot out ice beams at the fire enemy while Janet blasted laser beam at it.
Bandana Dee throws his spear at the back of the Flame Galboros while Kirby spits fire at him.
SpongeBob tosses his bubble bowl at the creature before he was being defeated.
"Thanks guys," said the Snowman.
"No problem, now you won't have to be melted." Janet said.
"Hey, can you do me a small favor? I get to back to my own body."
"Okay, but how can we do it? It's too big to push you.
Just then, Kirby saw a Miracle Fruit that was hanging on the vine. He jumps into the fruit and it turns him into Hypernova Kirby.
"Hypernova? Good idea, Kirby!" Bandana Dee said.
Kirby stood beside the Snowman's head and starts pulling it with his super inhale ability. When the snowman's head is placed onto his body, he stood up and jumps for joy.
"Thanks, guys!" The Snowman said.
"No problem," said Janet.
"Now please help my mother and father."
"Why?" Ethan asks.
"Because they've lost their heads too."
"Okay snowman, we'll help you get your parents' heads back." Sandy said.
"Thanks."
They walk over to the Snowman's mom and dad's heads.
"Hey, you must be snowman's parents, right?" SpongeBob asks.
"Yep, that's us!" Father Snowman said.
"Would you help us get back to our bodies?" Mother Snowman asks.
"No need to worry, because Kirby can help you guys out." Ethan said.
"Poyo!" Kirby said.
"Oh, thank you." Mother Snowman replied.
So Kirby placed the mother & father's heads back into its rightful bodies.
"Mom! Dad!" The Snowman said as he ran up to his family to give them a hug.
"Aw, hello sweetie." Mother Snowman said as she gives him a kiss on the forehead.
"Thank you guys for putting my family's heads back together."
"You're very welcome, see you later!" Janet said before she and the heroes walk off.
"Farewell!" said the Father Snowman.
As the heroes continued walking down the path, they noticed a Waddle Dee who was looking at them. He jumped in fright and ran inside the house made out of hay.
"Did you see that? They Waddle Dee ran inside the hay house. It kinda reminds me of a time when my mother told me a story of the Three Little Pigs when I was little." Janet told them.
"Maybe they're afraid of…" Ethan wonder before he and Janet realized something.
"Kirby!" They both said before looking at the puffball kid.
"Poyo?" Kirby asks.
"Kirby, would you mind if you pretend as the big bad wolf just like in the story?"
"Poyo!"
"Okay, inhale the hay house!"
Kirby nodded and started inhaling the hays and the sticks, the first Waddle Dee ran off in frightened.
"After him!" Sandy yelled.
The group chased after the first Waddle Dee who ran into the made out of sticks with the second Waddle Dee.
"Now, suck up the sticks, Kirby!" Ethan commanded him
Kirby then started sucking up the sticks and the two Waddle Dees ran away.
"Move!" Janet told them.
Their group followed the Waddle Dees where they catch up with the third Waddle Dee.
The three Waddle Dees noticed them before they ran and jumped off the cliff.
"Where'd they go?" SpongeBob asks.
"Maybe they're just wanted to go home," answered Patrick.
Suddenly, the ground started to rumble as the heroes looked around.
"What was that?!" Bandana Dee asks.
They looked over the edge of the cliff and the steel fortress rises up from the pit.
"Oh, my, gosh." Ethan said in surprised.
The three Waddle Dees started to fire missiles at the heroes from its cannon mouth.
"Duck!" Janet yelled and the others ducked against the missile.
"Kirby, destroy the tower by hitting the support beams!" Ethan said.
Kirby started inhaling the missile, then spits right into the first support beam, causing it to destroy it.
"Great, destroy the other two pillars!" Janet said and Kirby nodded.
The fortress then fired a missile and Kirby inhales it, then puts right back at the second pillar and the Waddles Dees started to panic and run around in circles.
"One more pillar to go!" Ethan said.
Kirby inhaled the giant missile and fires at the last pillar to break it. The Waddle Dees stops running and looks down before the fortress started to collapse the breaks, sending the Waddles Dees to fly away.
"Bye bye, Waddle Dees!" SpongeBob said, waving at them.
"Well done, Kirby." Ethan said, patting the puffball's head.
"Poyo!" Kirby said before he turns back into his normal self.
Just then, Janet looked at Taranza flying up into the sky.
"Look! Taranza's flying up into the sky above," said Janet.
"You're right. Come on, let's catch him for good!" Ethan said.
The heroes started climbing up the tower to catch up with Taranza and King Dedede.
Once they had made it to the top of the tower, Taranza turned and saw the heroes.
"What the?! How did you find me? And who are these people?" Taranza asks.
"Nevermind the question, we would like to have King Dedede back!" Janet plead.
"Please don't drop me," said King Dedede.
"Well, if you guys want your friend back, I suggest you fight this!" Taranza said before using his magic into the puffy cloud.
"Bye losers!" Taranza before he flys off into the air.
The puff of cloud came floating in before making it bigger, then an eyeball pops out along with the pointy spikes.
"Uh oh!" Bandana Dee said.
"T-t-t-t-that's…" Sandy began to say.
"That is Kracko, he can shoot lighting beams." Ethan told them.
Just then Kracko started shaking himself and drops a familiar creature to the Waddle Dees, called the Waddle Doo.
Kirby then started inhaling Waddle Doo, which turns him into Beam Kirby.
"Alright! Beam Kirby!" Janet said.
"What does he do?" Patrick asks.
"He can shoot beams at enemies, even bosses. Alright, let's fight this cloud guy!" Ethan said.
Kracko turns grey and unleashes the swirl of blue beam whips, which shocks Patrick.
"Ow," said Patrick.
Kracko turns blue and delivers a torrent of rain on SpongeBob, be he didn't get hurt.
"Hahaha! That tickles!" SpongeBob said before attacking him with his bubble bash.
Kracko then turns black and he unleashes a flurry of lighting onto Ethan, but he uses his force field to shield himself from being shocked.
"Flame power!" Ethan shouted before shooting fire balls at the cloud enemy.
Patrick then picks up the block and he tosses it at Kracko.
Just then, Kracko's eye turns red and he clears away the clouds, revealing new platforms behind the gaps.
"Okay guys, he's getting furious. Let's keep fighting!" Janet told them and they nodded.
Kracko then turns grey and starts vibrating, dropping all sorts of junk, even Parasol Waddle Dee. When the cannon landed on the ground, Kracko started to inflate into huge size and began crackling with thunder.
"Everyone! Into the cannon and get to the other platforms!" Janet said.
The heroes hopped into the cannon and launched themselves into the different plane before he zaps the entire stage.
"Man, that was close!" Sandy said.
Suddenly, Kracko started firing lightening balls at the heroes, which hit SpongeBob.
"Nobody messes with my friend!" Patrick said before he picks up the star and tosses it at Kracko.
Kirby then fires the electric beams at the cloud enemy, which causes him to feel dizzily before he explodes.
The heroes jumped back onto the tower as the Kracko's eyeball explode.
"That'll take care of him!" Ethan said.
Janet use her healing magic to heal SpongeBob up, "There you go!"
"Thanks, Janet." SpongeBob replied.
(Victory Dance)
The heroes looked up and saw the third Grand Sun Stone came floating down.
"There's the sun stone," said Ethan.
Kirby hopped and grabbed the third Grand Sun Stone.
The sun stone flys high into the air and it started to glow brighter, clearing the thick clouds away and the Dreamstalk continues to grow before it stops, revealing a new floating island.
"Well, time for us to go to the next floating island. Let's go!" Janet said.
Before the heroes could leave, a purple figure with a silver mask and bat wings came flying into the scene.
"Uhh… who are you?" Ethan asks.
"I am the one, the only… Meta Knight." the purple figure said.
"Oh, pleased to meet you. I'm Janet, and that's Ethan. This is SpongeBob, Patrick and
Sandy." Janet introduced him.
"Hello," said SpongeBob.
"Hi," said Patrick.
"Howdy!" Sandy said.
"Nice to meet you," said Mets Knight.
"So, what are you doing here?"
"Well, I was looking at the view of dreamland, seeing if there was any danger or not. Then suddenly, I noticed a giant vine had sprouted out from the ground. Then I saw that weird spider creature that is taking King Dedede, so I decided to go after him before I saw you guys." Meta Knight explained.
"You mean you saw us chasing after him?" Bandana Dee asks.
"Poyo?" Kirby wondered.
"Yes, I can teach that spider creature a lesson with my sword!" Meta Knight as he pulled out his sword.
"Okay, then you're invited to help us save King Dedede from being carried away by Taranza. How's that sound?" Janet asks.
"I'd like to!" Meta Knight replied.
"Poyo! Poyo!" Kirby cheered.
"Okay guys, let's move it out!" Ethan said and the heroes exited the Old Odyssey and started climbing up the Dreamstalk with their new friend, Meta Knight.
