3RD PERSON POV
In the ship quarters sunlight shines through one of the windows, reaching the floor, as boots are seen walking through the light which pans up to reveal Vega in his Assassin robes with all of his equipment on. He was tightening his wrist blades straps, making sure they're secured, before kneeling down and carrying up the wooden box that held the lamp artifact within.
He then left the quarters and made his way to the deck of the ship where he spotted the captives from the previous night being escorted off the ship by a ramp that connected to a port. Zooming out the camera pans over to reveal a massive port where several other ships, including this one, were docked with some being boarded while others were being loaded. Walking on the ramp with the chest in hand to the docks he stood in front of a man wearing white robes who was ready to greet him.
Assassin: "Safe and sound I see, excellent job Master Assassin. I'll take that off your hands now."
Vega: "Thank you, make sure it's well secured, it's quite a dangerous artifact."
The Assassin nodded softly before walking off with the chest as many other Assassins followed behind him. After they left Vega looked around the area, seeing the many refugees working together with construction for new shops and houses. It was quite a sight seeing this after so long out at sea, being in different lands that required his attention at the time. As he was about to walk off the port the sound of footsteps caught his attention. Looking back at the ship he saw the recent refugees he rescued from Marley walking off the ship in much better conditions than when they were rescued.
As they passed by him they flashed him a grateful smile, showing their appreciation to him while they were led off to the medical ward. Vega watched as they walked off, letting a small smile appear on his lips right before he felt a hand tap his shoulder, it was Fayee.
Fayee: "We did good, hopefully they settle in well with the others."
Vega: "I have confidence they will make a home here, and hopefully live a somewhat happy life."
Fayee: "They are very thankful for what we did for them. Praising us for their rescue."
A small shake of the head was all he gave to her before speaking.
Vega: "You know I'm not looking for praise, just doing my duty."
He then felt a small hit against his side as she spoke.
Faye: "You can't deny it, I know you must've somewhat enjoyed it. Maybe you enjoy a bit of the praise?"
Smiling, he decided to indulge her and elbow her back lightly.
Vega: "Perhaps a small bit of me enjoys it."
They both shared a small laugh, as they began to walk together off the port.
Vega: "What will you do now with our mission completed? I can bet you wish to visit your family as soon as you can."
She agreed, putting her hands behind her back.
Faye: "You know how much they worry, and I know a few others who'd probably want to see you as well."
His eyes softened slightly for a moment before returning back to normal.
Vega: "You know why I cannot, they are better off without me."
Scoffing at this Faye only pressed on.
Faye: "You can't just stop seeing them, eventually you'll have to. I just rather it be now before it's too late."
Vega: "It's not that simple, it's complicated."
Fay: "When is it never?"
They continued walking while they talked along the way towards a building which seemed to be much older than the surrounding ones, people who wore similar attires as Vega and Fay also occupied the structure.
Location: Council Hall
3rd Person Pov
We see both Vega and Faye entering the Council Hall, continuing their talk as they were then interrupted by someone.
???: "You both are back I see, took you long enough."
The two looked away from each other and towards the man that called out to them. The man had short ragged hair, brownish eyes, moderately brown skin, and appeared to be around the same age as they were. His Assassins robes were blue and were quite unkempt with some pieces of his outfit loose in places.
Faye: "Oh? Missed us that much, Daniel? You're still sad you didn't get picked for the last mission?"
She said teasingly towards him with a cheeky grin. This only made Daniel roll his eyes as he walked up to the two and pointed at Faye.
Daniel: "We'd both know if I was with Vega it would've taken less time to complete!"
Faye: "Oh yeah?! Well I'm sure Vega would disagree! Right Vega?!"
Both were suddenly smacked on the head by him as they held the top of their head in pain.
Vega: "That's enough you two, what are you, ten? It doesn't matter which one of you would've gone, the point of the mission was supposed to gather intel, rushing would've just given us less of it while putting the captors in danger."
The two just grumbled for a bit as Vega started walking away from them with the two then following not long after. As they walked a discussion began between them about past missions and what future ones would be coming in from the Mentor. During their discussion they had stationed themselves on the top floor, taking a seat on the benches.
Vega: "If said rumors are true then a highly urgent mission would be taking place on Paradis Island."
They both looked at him in surprise as he explained.
Vega: "Marley may have plans for some sort of infiltration, if that's the case then we'll need someone in there to relay us intel or to even prevent the infiltration if the council permits it."
Faye: "If that's true then they'll be after the Founder no doubt. And if Marley gets their hands on the founder..."
Daniel: "I don't want to imagine what would happen to the rest of the world."
The two said horrified at the thought.
Vega: "We must have faith Mentor makes the appropriate call should these rumors come to light."
Suddenly the sounds of footsteps caught their attention as a man in white robes walked through a door before scanning the area. Once the man made eye contact with the trio he quickly ran towards them before speaking.
Assassin: "Master Eidorian, your presence has been called for by the council. Please immediately head to the lower chambers for an audience."
Vega didn't question it and quickly stood from his seat and made his way to the chambers.
Timeskip brought to you by Vega tailoring his Assassin Robes
Location: Hidden Chambers
Now in a different section of the building Vega appears to be in a dark tunnel which leads further down from where he was now. Behind him it seems Daniel and Faye have followed Vega as they were interested in what he was called for. Quickly Vega speed walked down the steps as the end of the tunnel became more visible, torches began lighting up as he continued moving down. As they neared the end the duo behind the Master Assassin stayed silent, their questions filling their minds to what this summon entails for their teacher. Right as they exit the tunnel they stand before a massive split door with two assassins in white robes standing on both sides of the door.
Once the two assassins spotted Vega they turned towards the door and activated both of their wrist blades before stabbing it into a slot on both doors and twisted their arms which made a clicking noise which began to slowly open the large door. Once fully opened the two assassins motioned for Vega to enter, which he complied with, however as Daniel and Faye attempted to follow they were stopped by the other two assassins from entering. Before they could protest Vega had lifted a hand, signaling them to not interfere, as he continued walking through the door with the door guards untwisting their arms and pulling their wrist blades from the slots as the two doors began to close.
Vega now was in a new room lit with torches that were on pillars that supported the room itself. In the center of the room was the large emblem of the Assassin's embedded into the floor with it being where Vega himself now stood, around him were the four council members with the Mentor herself standing between the four members. The five then looked at one another before nodding at each other, motioning the start of this meeting.
Mentor Aida: "Vega Eidorian, we are quite pleased to have heard of your recent success with the captives in Marley, you have done well for the brotherhood once again."
Narrowing his eyes a bit he questioned his Mentor.
Vega: "I am honored to be praised by you, Mentor, but I doubt you only summoned me to just congratulate me. There must be something of great importance you have for me."
One of the council members stepped forward as they spoke.
(Assassin Council Member = ACM)
ACM 1: "You are correct Master Eidorian, we have received news from our spies in Marley that the Restorationists have been compromised."
Instantly Vegas eyes widened as he tried to keep his composure, his breathing faltering for a mere moment as he pressed on.
Vega: "Compromised?! How!"
The council quickly took notice of this as a member spoke up.
AMC 3: "The information surrounding who leaked the information of the Restorationists haven't been discovered yet, but that is not our main concern.
ACM 4: "This is merely one of the reasons why we have decided to send you there."
Instantly Vegas' worry had dissipated as he looked at them.
Vega: "Sending me there?"
Mentor Aida: "Yes, we are sure you have heard of the rumors spreading around on a mission for Paradis Island which concerns Marley's involvement. They intend to send their Warriors to the island in the hopes of capturing the Founder. However, the exact time of when they'll enact this is unknown. We wish for you to make contact with the people there and help prepare them for an invasion should Marley make their move."
She then reached into her inner robes pockets and took out a small rectangular box which suddenly opened as a golden light escaped from the container as it formed a sphere above them all, it had suddenly turned into a globe with several locations marked with concentrated points on different parts on the globe. The Mentor then reached up at the globe and moved it with a finger so it focused on a small island, she then zoomed in on it as a few lights were spotted on it.
Mentor Aida: "We have detected some artifacts located on the Island which we wish for you to recover, we fear the warriors second objective will be to obtain them and use them for their cause should they find them, that itself is a terrible thought."
ACM 2: "You will not be alone, we have already informed the Owl himself of our plans and are already on route with the Restorationists to Paradis."
All of this information was absorbed into Vegas mind, thoughts went through his head as he tried to keep his panic in check. This was a confusing situation for himself, he knows the importance, what it could do for the Brotherhood, and knows that he can't pass this opportunity as the council, including the mentor, brought this up to him first.
[ Accept ] [ Decline ]
He then made his decision.
Vega: "Very well, I shall accept the Paradis mission."
The Council members and Mentor all look at each other before putting their eyes on Vega.
Mentor: "I am delighted to hear that, we know you won't fail us Vega Eidorian, this surely will be a large step towards our goal. If we can get Paradis Island on our side then we can make our move to aid them without needing to worry about the King's corruption. I'm afraid we'll only send you for this, only once when you relay intel of your success can we send more of us to aid further."
Vega: "I am perfectly aware of the risks my Mentor, and I shall uphold the Creed and liberate Paradis of its corruption."
Mentor: "Choose your own way on how you want to approach this. And before you part from us let us leave you with these words.
Soon all of the council members walked towards Vega and stood around him in a circle.
ACM 1: "Laa shay'a waqi'un moutlaq bale kouloun moumkine"
ACM 2: "The Wisdom of our Creed is revealed through these words."
ACM 3: "We work in the Dark, to serve the Light."
ACM 4: "We are Assassins."
And then in sync, they all spoke.
All: "Nothing is true, everything is permitted."
Once they finished the council members, along with the mentor, put a hand over their hearts and bowed to Vega.
Mentor: "Take care Master Assassin Vega, until we meet again."
He then bowed in return before standing straight.
Vega: "Until we meet again, Mentor."
Quickly Vega began to walk out of the chamber, the large door opening back up as he made his way to them. A sign of focus plastered on his face as he now had a new goal, if he were to panic then he would surely fail.
Location: ???, Pier
Vega is seen rushing on the pier, the same face he had when he left the chambers remained. Behind him once again were the two assassins, Faye and Daniel, as their curiosity of what happened only rose. They kept trying to get answers out of him but they were given none from the Master Assassin. Said Master Assassin had already boarded a small boat with some sort of motor attached to the end of it, a motorboat is what they began calling it, a recently made vessel by the region's engineers for the Assassins. It was built more for speed unlike other models in hopes of missions that required smaller numbers and a faster means of travel.
He also had a leather bag which seemed to have something in it as he loaded it into the small boat.
Vega: "You two, on board now."
Although there was no yelling, his stern voice made them immediately follow his command as they joined him in the small boat. Quickly Vega opened the lid of the motor and began to pour gasoline in, once finished he closed it and pulled on the rope attached to the motor multiple times until a loud humming sound could be heard. Looking at the side of the machine he spotted the metallic lever attached to it and instantly pulled it towards himself which instantly moved the boat out towards the sea. Faye and Daniel looked at one another then at Vega as he made his way to the front of the boat and looked out towards the sea holding a compass in his hand as he took a small glance at it before looking back out.
Timeskip
It's been some hours since the three have departed from their headquarters and headed out to sea, Vega has kept quiet about the purpose of these events, deciding not to give them any information until they arrive at their destination. This only made the two disciples frustrated even more as they whispered to each other.
Faye: "I don't know what the council said to him but whatever they did say really bothered him."
Daniel: "I can't disagree with you there, I haven't seen him like this in a long time. Do we try to bring it up again?"
Faye: "No, he'll just give us that look again if we do and I'm sure we don't want that."
They share a nod before sitting down in the boat, the wind hitting against them as they relax for the meantime. Vegas eyes remain still as he faces forward with a stern face, the thoughts involving the mission running through his mind. Finally he spoke to the two, however still didn't face either of them.
Vega: "We will stop at several docks on our path for fuel, we cannot stay there for long and must leave immediately so we can arrive at our destination as soon as possible."
The young woman spoke up in confusion.
Faye: "Where are we going, you have to at least tell us that."
Daniel: "You owe us that, you did just bring us along with no explanation."
The two argued which made Vega let out a brief sigh so he complied.
Vega: "Paradis Island."
Both looked at him in surprise as they stood up.
Daniel: "You're joking!"
Faye: "Why are we going there?!"
Continuing, Vega explained the situation briefly.
Vega: "Your brother, along with the rest of the Restorationists, got into some trouble and are now on route to the island. Most likely to be turned into titans."
Faye after hearing this grew a horrified expression.
Faye: "Grisha's in trouble?! We have to hurry! We need to-
She was then interrupted as Vega raised his hand to silence her.
Vega: "I know, trust me I know. That's why I chose this boat instead of the standard ones. I just hope we can make it before they're turned."
He sat down in front of them, finally resting his legs as he rubbed his eyes in frustration. But he then laid a hand of comfort on her own, showing a slight smile.
Vega: "If we can save him along with any others then we will. But I'll need the both of you focused and ready once we reach the island. Once we do, I'll explain the rest, am I clear?"
They both nod in agreement as Vega nodded back at them.
Timeskip brought to you by a map which showed Paradis Island layout
3RD Person
Location: Paradis Island
A revolting voice pierced the ears of a man as they yelled out with a terrifying grin.
Gross: "Since your history is so grand, go and share it with your friend down below!"
The man named Gross forced Grisha into leaning close to the edge of the wall, which they stood upon.
Grisha: "Stop it! Don't!"
Gross: "HEAR THAT? YOUR SISTER IS CALLING TO YOU!"
Grisha: "NO, PLEASE!"
[ Press to order Assassination ]
But before Gross could push Grisha off the wall, a blade had suddenly entered the back of the man, not killing him right away as the one who stabbed Gross spoke.
????: "Hope you find this experience interesting."
Another hand held Grisha in place on the wall while the same figure who stabbed Gross pulled the blade out and kicked him off the wall. As Grisha turned his head to look at the person with the blade his eyes widened upon seeing the person.
Grisha: "Faye?!"
She had a grim expression as she watched the man who nearly killed her fall onto the sand below. Behind her stood Vega and the man who stopped him from speaking out about his wife's lineage along with a young man in a similar outfit to Vegas. Though it was shown that Vega was looking out the other side of the wall towards the docks.
As Gross rolled down onto the sand he looked up as his eyes met with the Peering Titan's, they stared at one another before he started to scream at the sudden realization.
???: "Well that certainly is interesting."
As Grisha just watched the Perring Titan bring the man closer to its mouth he looked upon his sister and noticed the other figure next to him.
Grisha: "You're..."
???: "I'm the Owl."
The one called the Owl tosses his hat aside as Vega moves an arm out so his wrist blade is pointed at the Owl.
Owl: "Remember this, Grisha. A Titan uses their power like this."
As soon as he said those words the Owl cut the palm of his hand on Vega's blade, and jumped off the wall as a yellow lightning struck down upon him which shocked the soldiers as they were flung around due to the force of the unexpected transformation.
The rest of the people on the wall watched the scene before them as the Titan gripped the ship that was in the ocean and broke it in half over his shoulders.
Vega: 'There it is, the Attack Titan.'
Timeskip brought to you by Kruger Attack Titan crushing Marleyans
With the Attack Titan finishing off the rest of the remaining soldiers, Vega went behind Grisha and used his wrist blade to cut his hands free as he helped him stand up. Fay notices Grisha's hands were wrapped in bloody bandages, her eyes narrowing at the sight.
Faye: "What did they do to you.."
Grisha: "I'll be fine..."
As the Attack Titan finished its attack on the soldiers, the Titan laid on its stomach as steam erupted from the Nae, and from it came out the Owl with markings under his eyes. Vega then jumped from his position and landed onto the Titan's shoulder as he pulled the rest of the Owl from the nape.
Vega: "I got you my friend."
He then raised an arm up as he shot a wire hook to the top of the wall and reeled them back onto it right before placing him back down.
The Owl then pulled out a handkerchief and whipped off the blood that was leaking from his nose.
Grisha: "Owl, just who are you?"
Owl: "I am Eren Kruger. As you just saw, I possess one of the Nine Titans. In other words, I'm a subject of Ymir, just like you two."
Vega: "And an important ally to the Assassins."
Grisha: "Assassins...?"
Suddenly they saw another figure climb up the wall as it was revealed to be Daniel. Once on top he untied a rope around his waist as a leather bag was being pulled up. As it was placed down Daniel nodded to Vega as he nodded back in return.
Grish then realized what Kruger said.
Grisha: "Wait! If you're a subject of Ymir just like us, how were you able to pretend to be a Marleyan and infiltrate Public Security with the blood tests?!"
Kruger: "That was easy enough with the help of a doctor. Doctors make good spies. In all honesty, you did very well. But in terms of results, Grice had every right to grieve like he did."
All Grisha did was bow his head in shame as he spoke.
Grisha: "You're absolutely right. I tried my best as a father, I tried my best as a husband, and I tried my best as a man, but through it all I was useless."
Grisha just looked down at his bloodied bandaged hands.
Grisha: "And yet... Why am I the only one who remains as a human? Dina was someone special, being a Subject of Ymir with royal blood. She would've brought out the true power of the Titans if you hadn't covered up her lineage. Dina was..."
Vega only winced after hearing that while Faye had a concerned look towards ger brother. Grisha then grabbed Kruger by the collar, yelling at him. Faye attempted to go towards them, but was stopped by her master.
Grisha: "Answer me! Why did you only let me live?!"
More blood started to soak his bandaged hands.
Kruger: "Enough. Don't your fingers hurt enough?"
But Grisha just smiled at the irony of him saying that.
Grisha: "Thanks so much for your concern! You didn't seem to care so much when you chopped them off as well as the others!" Well?! Why didn't you transform a few minutes earlier and save everyone else from becoming a Titan?! Why did you stand there and allow it to happen?!"
Kruger just fell onto one knee as he started to breathe heavily and Grisha spoke with worry in his voice.
Grisha: "What's wrong? Why did you suddenly go pale?"
Vega looked at the two before signaling Faye to stay out as he walked away from them while Kruger spoke to Grisha. He then jumped off the wall, rolling at the last second to cushion his fall. Already there was Daniel, with a leather bag in hand as he handed it to Vega.
Daniel: "Made sure to take care of any stragglers the Attack Titan missed."
Vega: "Good, no loose ends."
Facing the wall he placed a hand on it, feeling the marble that held it together until he felt a small movement. Slowly he gripped the brick and began to pull it out as he saw a hollow section of the wall where he placed the bag in before closing it back up.
Vega: "Let's go back on top, see what's going on there."
Daniel nodded as they both quickly climbed up the wall. Once there Vega made his way next to Grisha as Daniel stood next to Faye, a concerned expression plastered on her face.
Geisha: "Tell me something, Owl. What mission do you want to give me."
Kruger: "I want you to infiltrate the society within the Walls and steal the power of the Founding Titan. You'll do it by inheriting my Titan."
Vega's eyes widened hearing that as he looked at Grisha.
Grisha: "W-Wait, but that means you'll..."
Kruger: "I'll have to be eaten by you as a Titan. You'll take the Founding Titan from its owner the same way."
Grisha: "B-But why only me?! Why not you?"
The Master Assassin spoke up before Kruger did.
Vega: "Those who inherit the power of one of the Nine Titans perish after 13 years..."
Kruger: "I inherited this power 13 years ago so I have very little time left. This is known as the Curse of Ymir."
Grisha: "But why only 13?"
Kruger: "Whenever our founder awakened her power she perished after 13 years, so it's only appropriate we live that long, too once we inherited ours."
Grisha: "And what happens if someone dies without passing on the power?"
Kruger: "An unborn child who is a Subject of Ymir is given that power."
Kruger: "It's as if all Subjects of Ymir are connected by something we can't see. One inheritor once said they saw paths. It is because of these paths that memories and thoughts are sent through the inheritors."
Kruger: "And all the paths cross at a single coordinate. In other words that's... The Founding Titan. Every single Subject of Ymir is connected to that coordinate."
Grisha: "Just who was our Founder?"
Kruger: "Under Marley's authority, it is said she's one of the pawns of the Devil. During the Eldian Empire era, she was a miracle of God."
Then more was added as Vega spoke up.
Vega: "The ancient texts left for us by The Hidden Ones, it is said that she and another was given power after coming into contact with a creature left behind from those who came before us."
Grisha: "Those who came before us..?"
Kruger: "But who's to say any of those are true."
Grisha: "Huh?"
Kruger: "The only truth in this world is that there is no truth. Anyone can become a god or a devil. All it takes is for people to believe it."
Grisha: "You're the one who said that Dina had royal blood in her. Was that a "truth" of yours?"
Kruger: "Unfortunately, Dina having royal blood was true."
Grisha quickly took a glance at Vega before turning his head back to Kruger.
Grisha: "Then why abandon her?"
Kruger: "Precisely because she had royal blood. I couldn't let the enemy have her. It had to be done before any information leaked to Marley about Dina's true heritage."
Grisha: "Even so..."
Kruger: "Even so?"
Vega: "I hate it as much as you do, perhaps if I had gotten here sooner... There would've been another way."
He said with a frustrated tone.
Kruger: "I've done my duty. You do yours. Only someone with the power of the Titans is capable of reaching the walls."
Grisha: "To be perfectly honest, I don't think I'm fit for the job. I would rather have Vega get the power instead of me."
The Assassin simply sighs as he explains.
Vega: "I cannot possess the power of one of the Nine Titans in the regular sense."
Grisha: "What do you mean? Aren't you also a Subject of Ymir just like us?"
Vega: "That is half true. I am a Subject of Ymir, yes. But I am also a Descendant of Akyla."
Grisha: "W-What? You're an Aridam?! Wait, what does that have to do with anything with you not being able to take the power?"
Vega: "My Aridam blood prevents the Eldian blood within me from accessing some abilities you Eldians possess."
Kruger: "Which means that only you Grisha can do this."
No longer wanting to hear this, Faye yelled out.
Faye: "No, absolutely not! I'll do it, I'll inherit your titan."
Grisha looked at his sister in horror as he stood up and got in front of her.
Grisha: "Absolutely not, I refuse you to take this burden!"
She took a step forward while arguing.
Faye: "I don't care, I'm not little anymore, I can do this."
Grisha: "Look at that..."
All look down to where Gross's half eaten corpse was.
Grisha: "He was eaten alive by a Titan. And you asked if watching that was interesting? It wasn't interesting at all. His screams of agony were unbearable to hear."
He then looks down at his bandaged hands.
Grisha: "I...didn't know any better. If I had known this was the price of freedom, I wouldn't have paid it."
A small silence is shared between them until Kruger stands up.
Kruger: "Stand. Fight! For the sake of restoring freedom and dignity to Eldia... Stand!"
Grisha: "I...can't."
As Grisha closed his eyes and lowered his head Kruger reached inside his pocket, pulled out a photo and put it in front of Grisha's face.
Kruger: "Look. I brought this from your home."
Grisha gasped then closed his eyes shut again.
Grisha: "I can't look."
Kruger: "You can't look. Can't stand. Can't fight. Have you no balls?"
Vega then stood up looking down at Grisha.
Grisha: "It's pointless to try and make me recall my hatred towards Marley. All I have left now...are my sins."
Kruger: "That's more than enough. The main reason I picked you was because you left the walls that day. That day, if you hadn't taken your little sister and gone past the walls, you would've taken over your father's clinic."
Faye: "I was lucky... they were there."
Kruger: "But since you did go outside the walls. Ever since the first day I kicked a patriot off this wall... Ever since that day you took your sister outside the walls...we must push forward until the price of our actions is paid. Even in death and after death."
Grisha finally looks at the photo that's in Kruger's hand.
Kruger: "This is...a story that you began, is it not?"
Grisha clutched the photograph and stood.
Kruger: "There are names given to each of the Nine Titans. That includes the Titan you will inherit. No matter which era this Titan has found itself in, it has pushed ever towards, seeking out freedom. For the sake of freedom, it fights. Its name... The Attack Titan."
Grisha: "The Attack Titan... I'll have this Titan once I eat you."
Vega: "Once you inherit its powers you'll have 13 years to find the location of the Founder."
Kruger: "If the Founding Titan falls into Marley hands, Eldians and Aridams are done for."
Grisha: "The King in the walls wouldn't allow that to happen."
Vega: "The King in the walls won't fight."
Grisha: "What?"
He was confused about that.
Kruger: " "If once again Eldia is driven to sin, we will perish as it's meant to be. I have made a vow renouncing war with the Founding Titan." He said that to the royal family on the continent and then closed the walls."
Grisha: "Did he not warn that the Titans of the walls would flatten the earth?"
Vega: "Those words were meant to only deter an attack. Just to allow the Eldians within the walls a brief amount of peace."
Kruger: "The King of the walls stole his people's memories and made them believe humanity perished beyond the walls."
Vega: "All that cowardly King does is surround himself with ignorance and babbles about their paradise. A King who refuses to defend his people is no King."
Kruger: "You must find that cowardly King and strip him of the Founding Titan. That is our mission."
Grisha: "Would I be able to use the power of the Founding Titan once I eat the current inheritor?"
Vega: "No you would not, only those who possess royal blood can access the power of the Founder. However, even if that person possesses the Founding Titan, they're enslaved by the King's ideals, which only leads them down the path to humanity's downfall. That is the vow of renouncing war."
This left Grisha speechless. Knowing that information.
Kruger: "Vega, mind doing the honors?"
Kruger held out a small glass bottle and a syringe towards Vega as he slowly took both the items and prepared the syringe.
Vega: "Hope you're ready Grisha. This is the point of no return."
Grisha: "I'm ready."
He said with confidence.
Faye then walked up to her brother, tears already building as she suddenly embraced her brother in a tight hug.
Grisha: "Faye... I- I'm sorry."
Faye: "Don't... please come back.. "
He only hugged her tighter.
Grisha: "I'll try.."
Daniel stepped up to Vega as he gave him a worried expression. While they were listening to Kruger Vega had removed his robes, having them neatly folded while holding them towards Daniel.
Daniel: "You're not coming back with us, are you?"
His master gently placed a hand on his shoulder as he removed his hood before speaking calmly.
Vega: "I'm afraid not, this is where you two must continue your training. I have faith you both will do well with all I've taught you. When I'm done here I hope we can trade stories of our accomplishments."
A smile grew on his apprentice's face as he nodded right before Faye walked closer and hugged Vega. This surprised the two right before hugging her back, gently patting her back before they separated. She then took the robes into her arms and held them closely.
Faye: "Until we meet again, Vega Eidorian."
Both then jump off the wall, their figures are seen getting farther away as they board the boat they had come to the island on. The sound of the engine started up as the boat began to make its way back to the Assassin's Headquarters.
Turning away Grisha looked at him with a worried look.
Grisha: "Do you really believe we will see them again?"
This just made Vega place a hand onto his shoulder, his expression uncertain.
Vega: "I do not know, but if we make it out of this then we will."
Kruger: "Build a family."
This caught both men off guard.
Kruger: "Once you enter the Walls, build a family."
Grisha slowly moved away from Vega as he walked near Kruger.
Grisha: "What are you talking about? I have Dina..."
Vega closed his eyes hearing that, before letting out a calming breath.
Grisha: "Won't I forget the things you tell me just before I become a Titan anyways?"
Kruger: "That's not always the case. And someone may see it later."
Grisha: "Huh?"
Kruger: "Your wife, your child, your neighbors, if need be... Love someone inside the walls. If you can't do that, it'll only repeat. The same history... The same mistakes... Over and over... To save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else, you must see it through."
Both men looked at each other in a confused manner before looking at Kruger.
Grisha: "Mikasa? Armin? Who are they?"
Vega: 'Never heard those names before.'
Kruger then looks out to the setting sun.
Kruger: "Who knows? I'm not so sure... Whose memories are those?"
A long silence passed by and Kruger shook his head.
Kruger: "Never mind that, let's get this over with, you both have a mission to complete. Are you ready Grisha?"
Grisha nods his head as he kneels down and looks towards the direction of the walls.
Grisha: "I'm ready."
Vega helped Kruger go down the wall as he stared at Grisha awaiting his fate.
Vega: "Farewell Kruger, It saddens me that this is how it ends for you but it has been a pleasure to work beside you these past years. Your aid in our mission will be remembered, I can assure you that."
Kruger: "It's been a pleasure to work along with the Assassin's."
Vega nods and then climbs back onto the top of the wall and walks behind Grisha.
Vega: "I'm sorry that this role fell upon you my friend... If I could, I would inherit this power instead of having you do it."
A small chuckle could be heard coming from Grisha as he had a small smile on his face.
Grisha: "If doing this is the only way we can save our people... then I have no regrets."
Vega: "Very well then. I'll see you soon then, Grisha."
Vega then grabs Grisha's head by his hair and leaned it forward, bringing the tip of the syringe closer to the skin.
[ Press to Inject Serum ]
He inserts the needle into the back of his neck and pressed the plunger making the serum go inside Grisha. Once he is done Vega gently pushes Grisha off the wall as his body starts to glow right before being engulfed in a bright light, Grisha soon turns into a 10-meter Pure Titan. He instantly snatched up Kruger who was in front of him and began to consume him as Vega closed his eyes.
Vega: "May you find peace in the next life, Eren Kruger."
Once Grisha's Pure Titan stopped moving around it fell onto its face and from the nape Grisha slowly emerged as steam escaped the body. Seeing this Vega quickly jumped off the wall and made his way to the new Titan Shifter. Gently he pulled Grisha from the nape and took him away from where they were.
Under a tree he laid Grisha against the trunk as he then sat next to him, he let out a small sigh as he rested his head against the tree. Gently rubbing his eyes he is surprised to see tears on his fingertips, his hand shook gently at the sight, he clenched his hand before placing it down onto the grass. So he just waits, waits until the Attack Titan awakens for the journey ahead of them.
