Let's see, decided to sit down and try to write something. Then I look through my old notes and drafts and find an already somewhat written chapter for this particular idea. Looks like the parallel slip adventure will be continuing for Shinichi.
All right, enjoy!

"Hat-Ha-Hattori?"
"That's right boya! The one and only, Hattori Heiji! Greatest teen detective of the west and possibly in all of Japan!"
Words could not describe the mixture of thoughts and emotions that were running through his head at this very moment. A part of him felt stunned at the fact he was here in his house, while another part felt relieved that there was someone trustworthy. But then it quickly morphed into unease and caution because this whole day proved that nothing was truly the same as before. Everything, from the moment he awoke to this very minute, was in every sense wrong, wrong, wrong.
His prolonged silence and widened eyes were enough for his parents and the teen detective to mistake his reaction as being starstruck. With his eyes so wide and mouth agape, it would be a common assumption to make.
"Bet'cha weren't expecting me as tha special guest, huh?"
Shinichi could only shake his head in response before finally finding his voice and asking, "Wha-wha-what are you doing here?"
"In yer house or in Beika?" Hattori playfully teased.
"Uh-buh-both." Wait, he just noticed, was he stuttering?
"Funny, I thought you'd be in the know. Yer parents did say you and that detective group'll be involved tomorrow." Heiji raised an eyebrow, genuinely curious.
"I mean- I thought uh- I-I uhhh…" What could he say in this moment? He was supposedly expected to know, but he only woke up to this reality approximately less than fifteen hours ago.
Thankfully, his okaasan comes to the rescue, "Ah, I've never seen him so lost like this. I must have underestimated how truly admirable you are to my son if he's getting so tongue tied and forgetful around you."
Hattori nods respectfully to his parents, "Ah, that must be it." Then he kneels down and messes up his hair as he says, "It's alright chibi-tantei, I get'cha. If I ever met my favorite author, Ellery Queen, I'd be a mess too."
"Uh-huh." Shinichi could only reply dumbly, as his mind had yet to process the inner turmoil of warring emotions.
"Shin-chan, Hattori-kun will be staying with us for a few nights, so you'll have plenty of chances to talk with him later. For now, let's let him settle in the guest room to rest."
"Haii, okaasan."
His father patted him on the shoulder and wordlessly told him to head to his room. He'd have his chance to talk with Hattori later. So, he simply did so. As they all went upstairs and parted for their respective destinations, Shinichi quietly walked into his room and gently closed the door. The moment he did, he calmly walked to his bed and threw himself onto the pillow. His mind had yet to recover from what just happened, and his thoughts ran all over the place.
'So Hattori is here, but why? He expected me to know what was going on. He even said I was going to be involved with the Shounen Tantei tomorrow. What is going on tomorrow?'
Finally out of that brief moment questions and fact reviewing, he quickly made his way to the computer to search for clues about the upcoming event. It didn't take him long as he found the front page of the latest article.
"Suzuki Jirokichi Declares Challenge Against Kaitou KID: Mysterious Guest Invited To Work With The Famous KID Captors Brigade!"
So, his status as being the closest to capturing KID hasn't changed at all, except it's plastered with his name rather than his alias. This mysterious guest he invited most certainly alluded to Hattori Heiji. He was going to be involved in the chase and Suzuki-ojiisan wants to use his name most likely for greater attention and proof when the great phantom thief is catpured. At least that was nothing out of the ordinary for his character. Still, it makes him wonder what other differences there were about.
An accidental click of the mouse while his mind wandered in a sea of thoughts caused him to find something truly unusual on the shortcuts bar. It was a little document that had the word, "Detective," as its title. Curious, he opened the file and found a series of indecipherable pages of notes. Though, not readable at a first glance, he quickly figured out it was coded and he solved it with ease. Apparently, after a quick read through, it was, oddly enough, a journal of cases by a seven-year-old Shinichi.
Now did he ever keep a journal? The only ones he ever recalled were the mandatory assignment ones required for classes, but that was about it. Any private diary or journaling, that was never really his thing. He did write down notes for clues and records of his past cases, but that was created in a more proper format than whatever was going on with this document. One thing was for certain, Shinichi of this… world? This… reality? Something… Well, whatever had happened, this version of himself was clearly more mindful about jotting both adventures and feelings onto these virtual pages. The biggest takeaway from from the last entry showed he had already deduced the coming of a special detective, and was more than convinced that it was going to be Hattori Heiji-oniisan since he recently had a run-in with the thief several weeks prior in Osaka.
Well, he probably could have figured it out, if he weren't so overwhelmed by the literal life changes and his freaking out over everyone who called him,
"Shinichi?" His father's voice called from behind the door.
"AHH!" He scrambled automatically, closing the document's program and quickly turning back to the article about tomorrow's heist.
His father opened the door concerned by his startled cry, but visibly relaxed when he saw the article upon the screen. "I see you're reviewing everything about tomorrow, son?"
"Uh, yeah. I was just so absorbed in reading up about it."
His father smiles before asking, "Well, don't get too caught up in the case before it's begun. By the way, did you complete your homework?"
Shinichi smirks, "Of course I did! Like it was hard?"
"That's my boy." His father smiles, and again, Shinichi just can't help but be off put by the tenderness and maturity of it. He honestly expected that cheeky, proud grin or a playful childish tease, but no, his father really felt so much older like this.
"So, where's okaasan?"
"Downstairs now, cooking dinner."
His eyebrows lifted slightly as he looked expectant, "Curry?"
His father adjusts his glasses before smiling and raising his eyebrows in agreement.
"Yes!" Shinichi would never usually admit it out loud, but his mom's curry was one of the best. Made him really thankful when she taught Akai-san how to cook it. It was always a treat whenever he brought some over; like a piece of home.
His father couldn't help but chuckle at his cheer then told him to come down later since dinner would be in about twenty minutes. Shinichi thanked him and now he was back to being by himself again, scouring the computer for any more new information. Going back into the private coded detective file, he found out that he was very active in his own adventures. There were accounts of the Shounen Tantei-dan cases which quite a number of them he had already experienced as Conan; cases included the Library case, the mall case with the Kamen Yaiba show, the treasure map case, and even the very first one with the children being the haunted house. It was proving more that history hadn't deviated from his own experiences, minus of course the age difference. It was strange, really.
The more he looked through document, the more he learned about this version of himself in this kind of life. He learned that little Shinichi was more confident and surprisingly more vocal about expressing himself and his feelings about detective related topics. He had ten whole pages dedicated to Sherlock Holmes favorite moments and quotes from the books. There were entries pages complaining about his parents skills always one-upping his own, another several about Hattori's great accomplishments in Osaka, and a peculiar one that seemed out of place on this document.
"It's been a few months and I wonder how Kai-nii and obachan are doing. We haven't seen them since we all went there together. Kai-nii wasn't doing well. Obachan wasn't doing well either. I don't like seeing them both sad. Nii-chan kept pushing us away. He needs space they told me. I know that. I know he's hurting. But aren't we all suppose to be there for each other? Kai-nii, I hope you're okay."
That entry had been written several months ago, and using the search bar, he found it was the only mention of this, "Kai-nii." This entry was mistakenly put here and was meant for another journal. But who was Kai-nii and why is his family and he so close with him and his family? Why?
"Shin-chan! Hattori-kun! Can you please come down? Dinner's ready!"
Well, that mystery would have to wait. For now, he'd deal with the main ones in front of him; that being this reality he's found himself in, Hattori and his status, and the upcoming heist tomorrow. Figuring out a way back to his life as Conan will have its time.
.
Looks like "Conan" is experiencing some of little Shinichi's quirks and habits, especially in front of Heiji. What more could be affected? Also, he's doing a bit more snooping and probably found something he shouldn't have. I wonder where that will lead once he solves that extra mystery? What do you think he's going to discover?
This one was a bit short, but now we've got more glimpses of this world and Little Shinichi's life. Whenever I do come to work on another chapter for this, see you there! Or if I write another idea first, see you there instead! Thanks for reading a new chapter of this!
