July 2013, Harry's Bastion, Godrick's Hollow
Harry was working in his lab on a new type of memory storage using mana grown crystals. His hands were hovering over a stone with a single blue crystal sitting in the middle. A red glow slowly effused from his hands and the crystal grew upwards. Harry used his magic to manipulate the growth causing it to slow its upwards momentum and spread around leaving a perfect disk attached to the rock base like a table. Smiling, he used a small cutter and pulled off the rough crystal disk. Running his hands along it he smoothed everything over before he placed it in a nearby spin drive. Nodding to Tony he stepped back. Tony, who was waiting to the side stepped up and started fiddling with the spin drive, eventually he had a jerry rigged hard drive. He plugged it in and started the transfer of audio files.
"Now we wait." Tony said as he stepped back.
"Think this one will work?" Harry asked as he watched the progress bar on the screen.
"Sure. We got close last time and realized we had to use a colored medium to keep the information from being affected by outside sources. This time we should have something really spectacular." Tony finished with a nod as they watched the download process finish. Tony moved over and moved the connection to a secondary computer where Tony accessed the files. Grinning, he tried to play one and was greeted with the sweet sounds of AC/DC. "It worked!" Tony exclaimed as he stepped back and smacked Harry's shoulder.
"It did." Harry said with a smile as the music played. "So what now?"
"Well now I get you to make me a bunch of this stuff so I can replace Jarvis' servers. With the amount of memory available on each of these drives I could hold every book, movie, tv show, and song in existence with only a few of them." Tony said with some excitement.
"So how much data would you say is in each of these 'disks'?" Harry asked, not as well versed in technology.
"Hmm, considering they weren't created around the same memory models it's hard to gauge exactly, but I would estimate around 10 Petabytes." Harry just gave him a blank look, "10,000 Terabytes?" Tony tried again, Harry nodded.
"That's impressive. So how many do you need for Jarvis?" Harry asked. Tony hummed and tapped his chin as he looked at the ceiling.
"Maybe 10? For some reason Magical Runes take much more memory than anything I've ever seen, so when Jarvis scans it it overloads the memory banks." Harry gained a look of inspiration as Tony laid out the reason Jarvis was having trouble.
"Tony, did you forget what I told you about Runes and where they come from?" Tony thought for a second before nodding. "Runes are a magical language." Harry waited after saying that and wasn't disappointed.
"Which means the runes themselves exist as the magic they can make. Which means they can't be stored in regular memory." Tony finished with a look of understanding. He moved forward and started messing with the computer. Soon he was pulling up rune after rune on the screen before the screen shorted out and the computer combusted. Tony started laughing hysterically. "Oh that's rich. Runes have quantum energy, which means a normal binary computer could never process the magic in the runes. I could store images but they would be missing something essential, something your books have no trouble holding." From there Tony went on a massive rant that Harry could barely understand. Tony slowly stopped speaking out loud and mumbling as he went over his notes and plans for the quantum computer.
Harry stood back with a smile as Tony was a whirlwind of activity. He pulled books and notes, and started theory crafting a computer right there. Harry just let the man work and moved over to the side. He picked up several bars of silver and started pumping his magic into them, creating the vibranium Tony originally came by for. When he was done with just shy of a ton of vibranium Tony walked over. "Oh good, my vibranium is ready."
"Didn't you say the stores used for the batteries are good for millions of more phones? What do you need this for?" Harry asked as he shrunk down the box holding the metal and picking it up.
"I'm working on the Magi-Tech Mk. II." Tony said as he pocketed the now feather light box.
"Ho ho, something new to add?" Harry asked with a grin.
"Well I finished the magical repulsors. Instead of muons, it now uses magic particles to function." Tony said.
"Magic particles?" Harry asked with some confusion.
"Well I'm not sure what they're called, but after we finished that magic scanner the other day I was testing some other things and found these particles being released by magical objects. They act similar to the muons being bleed off the arc reactor, but magical in nature. The frost repulser I built that attracted these things had all sorts of random effects when activated." Tony explained as he shook his head. "I've been fine tuning it ever since. I've gotten a stable repulsor working that can fire four different beams, a concussion beam, similar to my current repulsors, a lightning or plasma beam, an ice beam, and finally a magic beam. That last one works like my magic bolt throwers."
"Huh. Tony, those might be magic byproduct." Harry said as he looked upwards. Tony gave him an odd look which Harry noticed. "Magic byproduct is the leftover energies after magic is used. It is created anytime magic is interacted with and gets recycled into the magical energy that proliferates throughout the universe. Hogwarts, my old school, would absorb the ambient magic created by hundreds or thousands of kids casting magic. It caused many random and strange effects. It's something I've noticed but never really studied. Luna, a dear friend of mine, was able to see magic and at one point called it a negative magic particle."
"Oh so like how the muon is a negative particle charge?" Tony asked. Harry nodded and explained how Luna told him about the magical creatures that only existed on the same plane of existence as the magic particle itself.
"She was considered quite strange for mentioning creatures that no one could see. It wasn't until years later that everyone realized that she could see raw magic. It was quite the rare ability that moved forward a lot of research into fighting off the demons. Unfortunately she died during a raid." Harry said as he looked down and clenched his fists. Tony was about to speak up when a loud shattering sound echoed throughout the house. Harry's head whipped up and his eyes started to glow before he gave Tony a look, "Suit up." Harry then faded away leaving Tony scrambling into his suit. When he was done he flew up the stairs at a rapid pace and got to the second floor only to see ice frosting the ground. Pietro was banging on his door and Wanda's was wide open. The door next to Pietro's, which Tony knew to be Teddy's room, was ripped off its hinges and unholy sounds were filtering through. Tony rushed inside only to see Harry jumping through a portal, Wanda was lying to the side awake but hurt, several creatures were dead on the floor, and Teddy's bed was empty.
"Jarvis Emergency, 'Need back up. Harry's house. Bring doctor.'" Tony then shot forward and entered the portal just before it closed. Leaving the room mostly quiet, Wanda was breathing heavily to the side and Pietro was still banging on his door.
Tony found himself flying over a wasteland covered in ice. Spires of black rocks covered in snow, vast plains of cracked earth, and a smell so foul Tony gagged before the suit engaged its filtration system. "Jarvis?" but no-one answered him. Huffing he shot off after the trail of bodies, most likely in Harry's wake. Soon he caught up and saw Harry carving a path of blood and bone through a horde of demons. His regular clothes were mostly destroyed but a sword in his hand was lit with a scarlet flame as he never stopped moving. Tony was amazed by the destruction being wrought by his friend, but shook himself loose of his awe. Soon he was laying down cover fire and thinning the ranks around Harry. His arms never stopped moving as the repulsors on his hands spat a continuous stream of energy. Soon he was firing off runic bombs and magic bolts. He watched as Harry made it closer and closer to a large stone-like building that Tony didn't notice at first. When Harry cleared the door, the demons attempted to pile in behind him but Tony was already there fighting off the horde of demons. "I don't know what's going on here, but none of you are getting past me."

Harry was mad. No he wasn't mad, he was livid. These creatures dared to defile his home, to kidnap his son. No, he won't lose him again. He felt the power of his magic being bent to his will as his strength reached levels he never had before. His sword sung in his hand like the Phoenix of his old home. Scarlet flames bathed his blade as he cut through demon after demon. Limbs, heads, and entire torsos were nothing in his path. Soon he was surrounded on all sides, but nothing would stop his march. When his blade wasn't enough the ground would swallow his enemies, wind was at his back enhancing his movements and sharpening his attacks, and lightning covered his form, protecting his body from the stray attacks that slipped through his guard. He noticed when Tony started thinning the crowd and was thankful but his sole focus was on getting to that keep.
When he finally stepped through the door it slammed closed behind him, his eyes raked over the room he was now in. Lines of ice demons of all shapes and sizes were congregated and at the long hall that was carved into this mountain he found a familiar face holding his godson.
"Col'Garr, I was hoping the last time I would see your ugly mug would be when I removed your head from your shouldersss." Harry said with venom, his s' rolling in anger.
"Harry Potter. I don't know how you escaped that cesspit of a world but I noticed some of my magic on a different plane and was curious. Nice little surprise for me. I found this tasty treat." He finished with a grin as he hefted the still sleeping Teddy by his leg. Col'Garr's body was malformed like most demons, his lower body was built with thick legs covered in a dark gray fur, his torso was solid and covered in chitin with four arms sprouting out of his back. Three of those arms were thick and covered in fur but one was thin and sickly looking, his head and neck were covered in black scarred skin.
"Give me my godson or I will burn this dimension to the ground!" Harry spat as his magic responded to his anger. Dark whips of black and green energy started to swirl around him. Col'Garr narrowed his eyes before grinning and waving his hand forward. The hordes of demons in the hall started forward and Harry wasted no time in dealing out death en mass. His sword was a blur as he spun and jumped amongst the demons. His off hand was waving around sending out blood boiling curses, withering curses, impediment jinxes, and Avada Kedavras. Waves of earth, flames, and winds were cutting down demons with ease.
Harry was huffing and puffing as he slayed one demon after another. He could feel himself flagging and grew angrier he dropped his sword and slammed both hands into the ground. A rolling wave of earth churned upwards, burying dead and alive demons alike. When that was done he raised both hands and dozens of human sized stone golems rose from the ground. The stomped forwards ending the lives of prone demons and battling the still standing ones. Harry shot past the thinning horde and approached Col'Garr.
Col'Garr barely had a moment's notice to raise a stone club before it and his arm were cut in half. Irritated, he roared and jumped forward, dropping Teddy behind him. Harry waved his hand and caught his godson at the cost of getting a swift hit to the face with a massive fist. Flipping back he landed on his feet before he rushed forward yelling as blood dripped from his mouth. Harry slid on the ground ducking a two arm swing from the demon before he pushed up and head butted the demon sending it reeling back. Not losing his upper hand he moved forward with his sword and removed a single arm from his right side, leaving Col'Garr with his sickly arm on the left and healthy arm on the right. Landing he ducked and swept out his feet catching the flailing demon by surprise. Col'Garr looked as if he was going to hit the ground but ice pillars raised up and steadied him, allowing him to kick Harry in the chest and send him skidding backwards.
Harry jumped back up before he slammed his fists together causing two earthen fists to slam into the sides of Col'Garr. The ice demon shouted in pain as the sharpened knuckles of stone dug into his body. He raised a single arm and brought it down causing an avalanche of icy spikes to cascade upon Harry, removing him from view. Grunting Col'Garr removed himself from his earthen prison before he grinned at seeing Harry's body impaled on large ice shards. Suddenly a red hot pain erupted from his legs as he fell forward. Looking back he saw Harry standing above him, his sword wreathed in scarlet fire. Checking his ice spikes he saw the impaled Harry fade away revealing it to be an illusion. He didn't have time for more contemplation as he once again felt the fiery burn of Harry's sword sticking through his back. Harry kneeled on the prone demon before grabbing his head and pulling it back until his eyes could just barely see Harry behind him.
"You should have left me and mine alone. Now you will taste true death." Harry's hands started glowing a sickly green and black as Col'Garr screamed in horror as his entire existence was being shorn away. Slowly the essence that made him was ground down until his last thought of deadly green eyes was replaced with nothingness. Harry fell to the ground as the body he was kneeling on turned to dust. He grunted as he stood, the demons still fighting looked on in horror as their leader, their king was killed by the human before them. Harry had no mercy though and sent out a wave of white flames that consumed the few remaining demons. Huffing he turned and stumbled over to Teddy. He checked him out and sighed in relief when nothing was done to him. Picking him up he slowly made his way back to the entrance to collect Tony. The stone golems preceded him stomping down on the charred husks lining the hall. One of the golems stepped forwards and opened the doors showing Tony battling the remaining horde outside. Harry waved his hand causing the remaining golems to aid Tony.
Tony, seeing backup arrive, turned and saw Harry looking much worse for wear and holding Teddy. Sighing in relief as well he approached. "Everything good?" Harry just nodded. "How do we get back?" Harry just waved to the side and made a new portal back to Teddy's room. Tony helped Harry stumble through before the portal closed.
Harry was grabbed into a tight hug as soon as he made it through. Natasha was standing next to him looking him over as she slowly took Teddy from him and placed him back in the bed nearby. Hank was on standby with medical instruments checking over Teddy as soon as he hit the bed. Wanda was sitting in a chair with Pietro nervously pacing behind her. As soon as they saw Harry they were in his arms. Harry smiled softly as Pietro and Wanda hugged him tightly. Harry looked up and finally noticed the rest of his team all in gear ready for action. Steve was the first to step up, but Tony intercepted him. He led the Avengers off to the side as Harry collapsed on the ground, his back propped up by the bed Teddy was on. Wanda and Pietro didn't let go and ended up sitting under each of Harry's arms on either side of him still hugging him. Looking up he saw Natasha giving him a relieved smile.
"We need better wards." Harry said with a smile as he passed out in exhaustion.
AN: vmage2 - He could Irskine but couldn't guarantee that he would answer. That is if he thought about it. Also the language thing was playing on Cap being a boyscott, which the MCU version was.
