Roman smiled at the sight of Solstice in the garden feeding the crows. She had bonded with those crows since they bought the house a year ago. She was a part of their family. He loved seeing this bond between them. He stepped outside and felt lucky that the crows accepted him too. He would never be as close to them the same way she was but he loved whatever little they were willing to give him of their devotion and affection.
"I'm about to head out," he said.
"Me too," she said.
She moved up on her toes and pecked his lips.
"Other worlds," he chuckled.
"It sounds like an interesting lecture," she said. "There's still available tickets if you wanna come."
"I promised Dean to help him put furniture together," he said.
"Dean can come too," she said.
"I'm sure he would love it actually," he laughed. "Maybe next time. Other worlds existing isn't really my thing."
He leaned down and placed a kiss on top of her head.
"Don't lose your head to this guy's fantasies," he said.
"Theories," she corrected. "And I won't."
"Alright," he smiled at her. "I love you, pumpkin."
"I love you too," she said.
Solstice stood up and looked at Bo Dallas who had just finished his lecture. Everyone was leaving but she took a few seconds longer looking at the man dressed in a suit and with his long hair put in a ponytail. He smiled at her and walked towards her.
"Interesting lecture," she said.
"I noticed you right away. You had that look in your eyes," he said.
"What look?" She asked.
"You're different than everyone else who came here tonight. I can see you believe me," he said.
"I don't know if I would say that I believe you but I've always been drawn to the supernatural," she said.
He smiled at her and she smiled back. She had found the lecture interesting even though he clearly seemed to believe in the idea of other worlds existing.
"I thought when I bought a ticket for this lecture that it was about parallel universes. Instead you're on a whole other level with other worlds and gateways between our world and theirs," she said.
"If parallel universes exist, there's a universe out there where you've already walked away from this conversation. Would you prefer that compared to this one?" He asked.
She chuckled and shook her head no.
"May I walk you to your car?" He asked.
"Sure," she answered.
He held out his hand and she turned around. They walked outside while talking a bit about what he had given a lecture about. They made it to her car and she gave him a smile of gratitude.
"I would love to talk to you some more about my theories. There's so much I didn't get to cover tonight," he said. "Are you free tomorrow?"
"I would like to hear more but not if this is some sort of way of asking me out on a date. I'm in a relationship," she said.
"Oh goodness no," he laughed. "It's just rare I find someone who shares my interest. I swear that's all I want to talk about. If you can spare an hour of your time tomorrow, we can grab a cup of coffee downtown."
She thought about it for a couple of seconds but figured it couldn't hurt to hear more. He did have some interesting theories about other worlds being real.
"Alright, let's meet up for coffee," she said. "I only got half a day at work tomorrow so I'm off at noon."
