Peter drives Sonic to Rachel's house where he knows Maddie will be as well as Emma. That means he would have protection from the FBI, CIA, or just about anyone if they found their way here. He walked over to the back and carried Sonic to the front door wrapped in a blanket. He knew he needed to get Sonic to a vet or something, since he wasn't a human and couldn't get to a normal doctor.

"Come on, buddy. You're gonna be all right. You'll be all right." Peter knocks on the door and Rachel answers.

"Is Maddie here?"

"No, no, no. Not today." Rachel quickly began to close the door. "Goodbye!"

Peter quickly stripped her by closing the door. "It's an emergency!"

"Bye-bye!"

"Rachel, stop! Please! Maddie! Emma! This is important!"

Maddie walks in with Emma and sees Peter trying to get in. "Oh, my God! Rachel, let him in!"

They moved Rachel out of the way and allowed him to enter.

"I am calling the police. No, I am calling the FBI. I am calling the CIA." Rachel began to threaten. "I am calling your Aunt!"

"Okay, got it!" Maddie sighed.

"Maddie, can we talk? I need you to-"

"Peter, what's going on?!" Emma asks. "You're- you're all over the news, I've been trying to call you!"

"I ditched my phone so they couldn't track me," Peter explained.

"Ditch his phone?" Maddie asked in confusion.

"Track you?" Emma asked.

Lucky then came over, sniffing the blanket causing him to bark.

"No. Lucky, please. Good to see you, too." Peter leans forward a little, which almost gives Sonic away.

"Oh, Little Lord Baby Jesus! What is that?" Rachel asked, gesturing to the blanket. "Is that plutonium?! Is it e-mails?"

"Yes, it's plutonium," Peter said sarcastically as he turned to Maddie and Emma. "Can we please go in the other room and talk-" Lucky barks again, getting Peter to become irritated. "Stop it, Lucky! Quit it!"

Lucky starts tugging on the blanket and everyone is arguing all at once. Lucky managed to yank the blanket off, revealing Sonic and everyone stopped talking. They looked over to the creature and were shocked at what they were seeing.

"Oh, catch me, Jojo," Rachel called to her daughter as she fainted.

"Oh, thank God," Peter said in relief.

Maddie pulls Jojo close to her.

"Can I get a glass of water?" Peter asks.

Dr. Robotnik puts on a pair of headphones and opens a music playlist called Tunes of Anarchy on his holographic computer, and the song "Where Evil Grows" by The Poppy Family plays as he spins around in his chair and begins to analyze Sonic's quill. He connects some power conductors to the quill, which causes the power inside his lab to go out. He does the same thing to peters blood and the computer starts to analyze it

Dr. Robotnik is now carrying a lighter to see where he's going and he opens up the breaker panel and turns on the backup power the music resumes with Dr. Robotnik dancing and lights flashing as the quill is inserted into a capsule. Dr. Robotnik then starts playing holographic videos of a snowcap and a Tyrannosaurus Rex running down the street and dances along with them to fit the theme like skiing down the slopes and running away from the dinosaur.

During the T-Rex chase, Dr. Robotnik mimics his head getting chomped by the dinosaur and keeps dancing as the lights in his truck flash like strobe lights. And as Dr. Robotnik dances, he doesn't notice Agent Stone dancing with him holding two cups of coffee. Eventually, he does notice and he screams as the music and flashing lights stop.

"I just thought you might like a latte with steamed Austrian goat milk," Stone said, holding out a cup.

"What do I look like, an imbecile? Of course, I want a latte. I love the way you make them!" Robotnik cried.

Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone hear a beeping noise and they see the power level of Sonic's quill is at "UNLIMITED", which makes Dr. Robotnik grin evilly.

"Ready the prototype. With this kind of power, my machines can finally reach their full potential."

Suddenly the other computer lights show that it was finished analyzing Peter's blood showing what makes Peter special and showing a list of abilities Peter has. Robotnik scans through the list till he sees one that interests him.

"Oh, this will do nicely." Said Robotnik as he had his finger on the ability that mentioned perceiving attacks before they come. What Robotnik didn't notice is that the blood had bits of black in it with small bright orange bits flowing throughout it.

Sonic is lying unconscious on the kitchen table while Maddie is beginning to look over him. Peter gave Jojo a pat on the head when he saw her worried look. Emma was watching from the side in confusion.

"He's gonna be okay, Jojo," Peter promised. Maddie walks in with her first aid kit. "Oh, thank God. He's gonna be okay, right?"

"I'm a vet, Peter. I don't even know what I'm looking at here." Maddie said.

"He's a hedgehog, or so he says," Peter told them.

"It talks?" Emma asked in surprise.

"Almost more constantly than I do," Peter admitted.

"Okay." Maddie sighed as she felt Sonic's pulse. "Holy…"

"What?" Peter asks.

"His pulse is super fast," Maddie explained.

"That actually might be normal for him," Peter said since he knew Speedsters'' hearts ran fast. "I don't know. You gotta help him, Maddie."

"I don't know his physiology. He doesn't seem to have any broken bones. He's just really banged up." Maddie gives him a lookover as she takes off Sonic's shoes. "Oh, look at his poor little feet."

Jojo looks at Sonic's worn-out shoes and gets an idea.

"Hang in there, buddy. You're gonna be all right" Peter promised his friend.

Jojo walks out of the kitchen and past Rachel, who is tied up in the living room. "Jojo? Untie your mother. Jojo! Untie Mommy."

Jojo ignores Rachel as she goes upstairs.

"Sweetie. Jojo!" Rachel looks around. "I have to go to the bathroom."

"He's gonna be okay, right? He'll snap out of this. He'll wake up soon?" Peter asks. "Oh, smelling salts! Don't you have, like, vet-smelling salts, like, for cats or parakeets or something?"

"No. They don't make cat-smelling salts." Maddie said.

"Oh, I guess that makes sense," Peter shrugged.

"I have human-smelling salts in my human first aid kit," Maddie said as she opened up the kit and took out the smelling salts. "Okay." Maddie then cracks the capsule and holds it close to Sonic's nose. "Here we go..."

As soon as he gets a whiff of the smelling salts, Sonic immediately wakes up and talks very fast. "Gotta go fast!"

Sonic starts zipping and speeding all over the kitchen before coming to a complete stop back at the table. He was frantically looking between the three people who were watching him.

"Where am I? What year is it? Is The Rock president?" Sonic frantically asks.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, buddy, you're okay. Calm down." Peter assured him.

Sonic looked at Maddie and Emma. "Oh, hi, Pretzel Lady and Scary Diamond Lady!"

"Hi..." Maddie greeted him.

"Peter?" Emma called to him.

"Yeah?"

Sonic waves to Maddie who is still shocked. "Can I talk to you, please?" She then leads Peter out of the kitchen and faces Sonic. "Space hedgehog, stay there."

Maddie followed after them. "Try to rest."

"You got it. I am great at resting." Sonic said as they closed the doors. "I rest faster than anybody."

Peter sheepishly chuckled. "He's still talking."

"Um, first of all, can we take a moment to acknowledge how under control I've been?" Maddie asked them.

"Amazing. Yeah, thanks, Maddie. You're a life saver" Peter said.

"Second of all… what the heck is going on?! Is that thing an alien?!" Maddie asked in terror.

"Okay, so, remember how Crazy Carl is always going on about the Blue Devil?" Peter asked them.

"The Blue Devil!" Maddie said in shock.

"That's him? He's real?" Emma questioned.

"Yeah." Peter nodded.

"What is he doing here?" Emma wonders. "What are you doing here?"

"I kinda, sorta, shot our little blue friend with a tranq web," Peter admitted with a sheepish smile.

Emma gives Peter a suspicious look and crosses her arms. "Really?"

"I didn't mean to," Peter admitted. "Okay, this is kinda hard for me to explain. And it's gonna sound a little bit crazy. He has to get to the Transamerica building, and I promised I'd take him."

Back in the kitchen, Jojo returns to Sonic and presents him with brand new running shoes in red with white straps. "So you won't hurt your feet anymore."

Sonic was surprised by the gift. "Really?"

"Uh-huh."

Sonic takes the shoes and admires them. "No one's ever given me a gift before. I gotta check that off my bucket list."

Sonic tries on the shoes and grows excited over them, which makes Jojo very happy.

"All right! Looking good!"

Peter finished explaining the situation to the girls as they took it all in.

"Okay, well you took up Spiderman to help people in real trouble, right?" Emma asked. "Well, that's what you're doing. This isn't different than what you have been doing for years. Blue alien hedgehogs still count as people, right?"

"I think so, too." Peter agreed as they walked off and kissed her. "I love you. Did I tell you that already?"

Sonic stares at Lucky while he and Jojo are in the kitchen alone. "So, you're supposed to be Peter's "best friend" that he won't shut up about."

Lucky has his tongue out as he pants.

"Well, I don't see the appeal," Sonic scoffed. Lucky walks over to Sonic and starts licking him, which makes him laugh. "Stop! That is very gross!"

Peter walked back in after checking out the car. "Hey. So, my truck still runs, but it's pretty much totaled. You think your sister would mind if we borrowed her car?"

"You have got to be kidding me!" Rachel said.

"She'll be fine," Maddie promised them.

"Thanks," Peter said as he headed off to get Sonic and Emma headed outside.

Sonic is driving Rachel's beat-up car very dangerously through the streets of San Francisco. "Coming through! Whoa, now, this is my turn, and I go around him! Sorry! And, perfect park!"

Sonic parks lopsidedly at the curb, while a driver cries out, "What are you, crazy?!"

"Is there anything you didn't hit?" Peter asked as he exited the car.

"Remind me again why I agreed that we let the alien drive?" Emma wondered as she climbed out.

"Hey, I got us here. And please, 5 stars." Sonic said.

Sonic, Peter, and Emma stare out at the towering Transamerica building. Emma put a small mental block up as she began to make sure that nobody noticed the small hedgehog. He sped over to the sidewalk as they looked up at the building.

"So, this is it?" Sonic asks.

"That's it. That's your objective," Peter stated.

"Wow, look at that thing!" Sonic said.

"What happens now?" Emma asks. As soon as she finishes her question, Sonic speeds away and makes his way inside. "Oh! He's... gone."

Peter nodded. "Yep. He does that a lot."

Sonic then comes back to Peter and Emma as he looks up at the building. "No good. You need a special key to get to the roof. Wanna try climbing?"

"Spider-Man can't be seen suddenly climbing up the side of the building," Peter stated as he grabbed the bag with the prototype suit.

"What now?" Emma wonders.

"You're a telepath," Peter reminded her.

"Yeah, and I don't enter people's minds or mess with them without any reason," Emma reminded him of her oath. "Until they draw a gun, I don't strike first."

"That is going to bite us later, I just know it," Peter sighed.

"So, what do we do?" Sonic wonders.

Peter considered what to do and came up with a plan. "I might have something..."

They enter the building with Sonic hiding inside the bag where Peter is hiding the suit. He was wearing the suit underneath his clothes to save space and give Sonic the room to hide inside with the laptop. He walked over to the front desk and flashed his Horizon Labs ID badge at her.

"Hey, Peter Parker, here on behalf of Horizon Labs, here to check the fuse box on the roof." Peter quickly informed her.

"Fuse box on the roof?" She questions. "Aren't they in the basement?"

"That's just what they want you to think, throws off the terrorists," Peter quickly lied.

The woman looked to Emma who showed no emotion and kept her eyes on the security team in case they needed to make a hasty retreat. She seemed to buy it as she then handed over the key and they made their way over to the elevator. They were beginning to get surrounded by other people that Emma quickly used her mental block to keep Sonic hidden.

"How much longer? I can't breathe in here!" Sonic cried, noticing nobody was responding. "Hello? Anybody there?"

"Zip it, you little hedgehog," Emma snarled, getting Peter and the two others to look at her. "Sorry, just one of those days. Had to vent."

Peter chuckled as he looked at the two of them. "Yeah, she gets like that. She's had a day."

Emma then leaned over and quickly zipped the bag. "No, I'm scared of the dark! Is anybody there?"

Peter and Emma get to the roof of the Transamerica building and they let Sonic out of the duffel bag, who is coughing and gagging and wearing a pair of underwear on his head.

"Ugh! What were you keeping in this bag? A jar of pickled farts?!" Sonic questioned as he takes the underwear off his head and stuffs it back into the bag.

"All right, all right. What are we looking for?" Peter wonders.

Sonic sees his Ring satchel and retrieves it and runs back to the two of them, holding a ring. "This."

"Okay. What happens now?" Emma wonders.

"Now, all I have to do is think of where I want the other end of the ring to appear, and I throw it," Sonic tells them.

"So, that's it? We did it?" Peter wonders.

"Yeah! We did it!" Sonic cheered.

"Hey, sorry we didn't get to do everything on your bucket list, pal."

"It's okay. I did the ones I needed the most." Sonic said with a smile.

Emma watched them interact and chuckled. "You two are so cute."

"Oh, please."

"What? We are not."

"No. We're not cute."

"We are a couple of loose cannons just living by our own rules."

"Really?

"Yeah."

"And our rules include expressing heartfelt emotion."

"If you say so."

"Okay, then." Sonic sighed as he saw it was time to leave.

"All right. Um, you gotta go, right?" Peter asked, stepping back.

"Yeah, I gotta go," Sonic said.

"I gotta go. We gotta go."

"See- All right, bye-bye," Sonic said as he stepped back. He turns away for a moment, then turns back to Peter and Emma. "Just one more thing.

Peter steps forward and kneels down to Sonic's level.

"I'm sorry I was so hard on you. I know it's a tough decision for you to leave Green Hills. Walking away from something you care about has to be painful."

Peter gave him a heartfelt smile. "You're not sure you really want to go, huh?"

"I don't want to go, but I can't stay. As long as I'm here, I put everyone in danger." Sonic said with a sigh and Peter related to his pain. "I can't do that. I just want you to know that these last two days have been the best two days of my life."

Sonic smiles and so does Peter as he stands back up and walks back over to Emma.

"You know, I never thought I'd say this, but, I'm actually gonna miss you, you little blue devil," Peter said as he hugged Emma.

"I'll miss you too, Spider-Man. Thank you." Sonic said.

"For what?" Peter wonders.

"For saving my life," Sonic explained.

Peter only smiled back and nodded. "Comes with the territory."

Sonic turns away, reaches into his satchel, and pulls a Ring out. He tosses it, only to have it bounce off of one of Dr. Robotnik's flying drones, and many more of them start closing in on the trio.

"Okay, did someone leave their "Find My Phone" on?" Sonic asked.

Sonic steps back a few feet but stops at the edge of the roof, and he sees a flying aircraft overhead, which is Dr. Robotnik's Eggpod. The ship hovers over to the trio and the cockpit opens, revealing Dr. Robotnik in an entirely different outfit and with an evil grin on his face.

Robotnik smiled as he raised his goggles. "Welcome to San Francisco, Mr. Parker. Are you enjoying the clam chowder?"

"Uh... Peter? Who is that?" Emma asks.

"It's the government whack job who keeps trying to kill us," Peter explained to her and turned to face Robotnik. "Unsuccessfully!" The remark makes Dr. Robotnik scowl. "Nice of you to swing by on your way to Comic-Con."

"Yeah, what are you wearing? Looks like a rejected X-Men uniform. And we've had some embarrassing outfits." Emma stated.

Robotnik looks at his suit and then back to the trio. "It's a flight suit, designed to modulate my body temperature and reduce drag!"

"Yeah, and yet you still are one." Peter quipped.

Robotnik scoffed. "Oh-hoo! Good one. You are catching fire, Parker. Oh, and speaking of heat, I see you've taken a lover. Does she have a name, or should we just call her "collateral damage"?"

Emma gave him a snarling look. "Hey, I wouldn't antagonize her, buddy, this girl can harm you without even flinching." He then leaned toward Emma. "Come on, take over his mind."

Emma shrugged and saw he was aiming weapons at them. She began to use her powers to peak into Robotnik's mind to try and control it, but it caused her to scream and grab her head in pain, falling over to one knee.

"Emma!?" Peter cried.

"What happened?" Sonic asks.

"His mind... his thoughts... they are so chaotic. I.. I couldn't control it." Emma explained in pain, clutching her head as she released her grip on his mind. "He's immune to telepaths."

"The last time she acted like this was when she peaked into Wade Wilson's head," Peter explained to Sonic. "This guy really is insane."

"What do we do now?" Emma asks.

Sonic looked down the roof and over to them. "Don't worry, I got a brilliant plan!"

Sonic then rushed over and slingshot off the wall to push them off and sent them falling. Robotnik was shocked when he saw what happened and looked down. "I was not expecting that. But then again, I was expecting not to expect something so it doesn't count."

What he didn't know was that Sonic had a quick mental chat with Emma and Peter as he explained to the couple his plan. While Robotnik opened fire on Sonic, he used his speed to slow down the missiles while Peter was beginning to remove his clothes and then grabbed the mask from his jacket to reveal the Velocity Suit. It is a red and gray armored suit that includes unique-looking silver visors on the eyes, as well as more defined plating and a glowing blue spider symbol that glow in the dark.

The flying drones fire their weapons at Sonic, but now time seems to have stopped and everything is frozen in place as Sonic's awareness is increased and he stands there, tapping his foot and looking at his wrist. He then plays around with some of the missiles and bullets from the Egg Drone weapons and is able to destroy most of them. But Dr. Robotnik pushes the button and the quill fully charges the Eggpod and grants him access to Sonic's timescale.

Sonic makes a shooting hands gesture to two more Egg Drones, but Dr. Robotnik fires a laser blast at Sonic, which he barely escapes from, causing him to enter slight delirium. Sonic recovers from his trance to find Peter and Emma still falling and tries to reach for a Ring.

"Come on!" Sonic tries air swimming to reach the Ring. "Come on, come on, come on!"

Sonic plucks one of his quills out and uses it to grab the Ring he then reaches the building and speeds towards the falling couple tosses the saw the ring get tossed, shoots a web towards it, and then throws it at Emma. When the Ring fell behind Emma, it opened up and allowed Emma to fall through, crashing into a barn near the outskirts of Green Hills.

Peter then tried to shoot a web, but he was moving at Velocity speed, meaning the web shooters were too slow. "Aw, cra-" He then smashed into the sidewalk and groaned as Sonic tried to skid to a stop, only to end up falling and hitting the ground alongside Peter. "Ow, my back..."

Sonic groaned as he shook it off. That was when they looked over and saw Robotnik come down alongside them.

"How is he moving so fast?" Peter asked Sonic.

"I don't know," Sonic admitted. "This has never happened before."

"Can I give you two one genius piece of advice?" Robotnik asked rhetorically. "Don't run. It will only hurt you two more." He then looked at Peter's suit. "And what are you wearing?"

"Prototype velocity suit," Peter stated, charging up a strike. "Check it!" He then sped his way over, rushing at full speed. That was when he heard an alarm go off on the ship, and out of nowhere, to moved out of the way too fast for even Peter to perceive. He was then hit by one of the energy blasts, sent flying and slamming back into the tree. "Ow, my back... again."

"Like the new tricks?" Robotnik asks sarcastically. "A small sample of your blood, and this is what we get. My version of your special danger sense. An electronic spider sense if you call it that or rather an egg sense."

Sonic looked over to Peter in his suit as he nodded, showing that he could move fast by vibrating his arm, showing Sonic he wouldn't be in danger. Sonic smiled and nodded as he saw that they were both thinking the same thing.

"Alright, Eggman, you wanna go fast?" Sonic asked, charging up his speed.

"Then catch us, if you can!" Peter proclaimed as he helped Sonic pick up the rings before dashing down the street.

Robotnik lowered the goggles again and grinned. "The hard way it is."

Sonic and Peter raced through the bustling streets of San Francisco, the vibrant city around them blurring into a kaleidoscope of colors as they dashed forward. The world appeared frozen in time, while they maneuvered expertly through the chaos. Sonic propelled himself off the walls of nearby buildings, his blue form slicing through the air with agility, deftly dodging laser blasts from Robotnik's relentless drone. Beside him, Peter, utilizing his heightened senses and reflexes, ducked and weaved to evade each blast, their teamwork seamless as they navigated the urban landscape.

As they approached a crowded intersection, a city bus loomed ahead. In a split-second decision, Sonic executed a perfect slide beneath the massive vehicle, his trademark speed allowing him to escape unscathed, while Peter soared overhead, performing an acrobatic leap that landed him gracefully on the street. He quickly slid to a stop beside Sonic, who quickly regained his footing, ready to sprint again, oblivious to Robotnik's furious chase behind them.

"By the way, that was an illegal left!" Robotnik shouted, his voice dripping with mock authority as he sent another volley of missiles from the robotic drone, the explosions echoing down the street.

In a moment of inspiration, Peter suddenly remembered the shimmering Ring he had retrieved earlier. He fished it out of his pocket, recalling Sonic's instructions — visualizing the destination first and then throwing it. With determination, he focused on what lay ahead, the bustling chaos of their surroundings guiding his thoughts. With a swift motion, he threw the Ring. It soared gracefully through the air, spinning in a mesmerizing arc before coming to a halt and opening to reveal a swirling portal leading to the streets of New York.

Without hesitating, Sonic plunged into the glowing vortex, his form disappearing into the iridescent depths, with Peter close behind him. The portal spat them out into a new realm, and they dashed past the towering Avengers Tower, its iconic silhouette against the skyline momentarily distracting them. But Robotnik, fueled by rage, burst through the portal just as it began to close, his chase unwavering as he followed them into this new adventure.

"That didn't work!" Peter was angered as they sped through the streets.

The action comes to a dramatic pause following an explosion, which Sonic narrowly escapes. But as he did so, time seemed to freeze all of a sudden.

"So, here we are again! We've been through so much together! Now you understand why there's a psychotic robot doctor chasing a supersonic blue hedgehog with Spider-Man wearing a suit that lets him be as fast as me. Want to know how it ends? Yeah, me too."

Then they unfreeze and Sonic continues running and dodging laser blasts from Dr. Robotnik with Spiderman using his webs to throw a car at the machine. Ronotnik dodged the strike and continued to chase them throughout the streets. Sonic ran up the side of a building to try and dodge him, Peter looked down at his gauntlet that showed the Velocity suit was losing energy, considering that his suit was still a prototype and he hadn't figured out a power source. Sonic leaped and fell back down as Robotnik was shooting at him.

"We gotta hurry, either lose Robotnik or find a way back to Green Hills, I am running low on power," Peter warns Sonic. "And I have a feeling I am not going to last long after that happens."

"Got it!" Sonic said, pulling a Ring of his own and tossing it forward. The ring turned into a portal and on the opposite side, instead of New York, it led directly to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. "Coming through!"

The two of them dashed through, passing a mine, and two tourists as Robotnik was close behind them.

"Sacré bleu!" The mine shouted as he rushed out of the way.

"Excusez-moi, monsieur!" Robotnik cried as he laughed.

Peter and Sonic zipped through another shimmering Ring portal, emerging onto the ancient stones of the Great Wall of China, which snaked majestically across the rugged landscape. "Here we go! Room to open it up!" Sonic exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

With a shared glance of determination, they pushed their speed to the limit, the wind whipping past them, as the ominous sound of Robotnik's relentless pursuit echoed behind them. He fired laser blasts from his slick, black machine, barely missing as they dashed forward. In a moment of quick thinking, Peter hurled another glowing Ring, and with a brilliant flash, they were whooshing through yet another portal.

This time, they found themselves weaving through the bustling streets of Latveria. The cobblestone roads teemed with activity, as citizens scattered in panic from the mechanized menace of Doombots lumbering sluggishly after them. The robots, with their shining metallic exteriors, seemed almost bewildered by the chaotic scene unfolding before them.

However, there was no time to lose. They shot through yet another Ring portal, this one swirling with vibrant colors that enveloped them in a dizzying whirlwind. To their astonishment, they landed with a thud in the relentless heat of the Egyptian desert, surrounded by towering pyramids silhouetted against the brilliant blue sky.

"We can't lose him!" Sonic shouted, urgency laced in his voice, as he glanced back over his shoulder, knowing that Robotnik was still hot on their tails. The stakes had never been higher, and the race was far from over.

"Sonic we got to stop running."

As Peter felt the rhythmic beeping of his suit, he glanced down and saw the energy levels dwindling dangerously low. If he didn't act quickly, he risked overheating the suit, potentially destroying it. Robotnik fires multiple laser blasts from the Eggpod, destroying the Sphinx in its wake.

Frantically scanning their surroundings, Peter and Sonic skidded to a halt in the fine, golden sand of the desert. The sun blazed overhead, casting shimmering waves across the dunes, and as Peter let the grains slip through his fingers, inspiration struck him like a lightning bolt.

"If you can't beat them..." Peter began, his eyes sparkling with determination.

"...blind them," Sonic finished, catching onto Peter's thought process instantly.

With a shared nod of understanding, the duo launched themselves forward with remarkable speed. They raced toward the looming shadow of Dr. Robotnik's drone, an ominous mechanical beast hovering in the sky as he searched around for them. As they charged ahead, Peter and Sonic summoned the power of the desert sand, kicking it up around them. They became a whirlwind of motion, creating a spiraling tornado of sand and dust that enveloped the drone.

The sudden storm blinded Robotnik's line of sight, leaving him disoriented as the gritty debris swirled around him. With the advantage in their favor, Peter and Sonic prepared to strike, knowing they had to act swiftly while the villain was momentarily out of commission.

"Lost… visual contact!" Robotnik cries.

But through the dust, he sees Sonic and Peter speed up the Great Pyramid of Giza preparing to open a portal to escape and leave Robotnik in the dust.

"You're not allowed up there! It's one of the 7 Wonders!" Robotnik said, opening fire.

Dr. Robotnik blasts out of the tornado, and just as Sonic opens another ring portal, Dr. Robotnik fires a laser blast at the two of them, sending them flying through the portal and hurtling him onto the streets of Green Hills where he lies motionless and unconscious. Peter rolled down the street as fragments of his suit began to fall off due to the damage and he groaned. He ripped off a fragment of his suit's shoulder and groaned, seeing that the suit was damaged.

Dr. Robotnik menacingly appears through the portal as it closes. Tom, Emma, and the farmer rush to see what the commotion is all about when Dr. Robotnik laughs maniacally and takes off his flight goggles.

"You're an astonishing little creature," Robotnik tells Sonic and looks over to Peter. "And you? Oh, all of those brilliant minds, all those costumes vagrants and they couldn't finish you off, but I did more than they could in one afternoon. I can't wait to study you as well."

"Go pat yourself on the back," Peter groaned as he struggled to stand.

"It'll be fun to take you two back to the lab for a litany of invasive exploratory procedures," Robotnik said. "Any last words? "

"Guac… I like that word… ..." Sonic moaned.

Emma then noticed the small sack that contained the Rings inside on the ground and snuck over to pick it up. She walked around the crowd to find a hidden area to use the Rings.

"I don't have to tell you how many scientific breakthroughs have been made possible by animal testing or by human testing in general," Robotnik said, missing the Ring portal opening up behind him as Emma stepped through, activating her diamond form as she prepared to defend the man she loved and the young hedgehog. "You're being very selfish."

"Going my way?" Emma asked, getting Robotnik to look over in shock when he saw her diamond form. "What the-?!"

Before he could finish, Emma punched him in the face, causing him to become disoriented she then slammed his head against the controls, causing him to lose his goggles. That caused the drone to begin to shuffle, sending Emma off balance. Robotnik got back up and punched her, only to cry in pain when he felt how hard her skin was.

"Who the hell do you think you are?!" Robotnik asks.

Emma punched him in the face again, slamming him against the controls. "I'm the Scary Diamond Lady, you freaking-"

Robotnik moved the drone to cause Emam to fall out of the drone she fell onto the street, hearing the gasps from the crowd. "Autopilot, adjust."

That's when he is suddenly punched in the face by Spider-Man. Peter lands a few punches lifts Robotnik slightly into the air and then uses his webs to give him the momentum to slam Robotnik back into the cockpit.

"Game over Eggman." Peter proclaimed.

"Oh, I don't think so." Says Robotnik as he presses a button creating an electrical field painfully electrocuting Peter and sending him flying back into the ground

Peter groaned as he limped over to see Emma and check to see if she was okay.

"Why?!" Robotnik asks. "Why risk yourself for this... thing?! That's why I don't have friends. Next thing you know, you're somebody's best man, they want to have the wedding out of town... Like nobody has anything better to do! Anyway, where were we? Oh, yes-you bunch were about to die."

Suddenly, a bullet ricochets off the Eggpod and we see that it was Tom and Wade who fired their guns. To their surprise, there were also a few others as Peter noticed that Yuri Watanabe was also there, but also with Max. He must have called Yuri and told her what was going on and she came to help.

"That's our hero you're messing with," Tom told him.

That was when Crazy Carl ran over with a chainsaw. "And our Blue Devil..." He then holds up the chainsaw. "...who, as everyone can see, is a very real creature and not at all invented by me!"

Wade gently pushes the chainsaw away. "Careful. Just- just put it away."

Emma felt something was wrong as she looked over to Sonic, the unconscious one. "Peter?" She whispered.

Peter also sees Sonic unconscious in the street, and both of them feel grief and guilt. He couldn't hear his heart beating.

"I don't mean to be indelicate here, but someone should get some ice; keep the body fresh while I finish off the bug," Robotnik told them.

Peter lowers his head in sorrow as he couldn't save the young hedgehog.

"He's just a silly little alien. He didn't belong here!" Robotnik stated.

Peter looks over at Dr. Robotnik and stands up as he looks down and fixes the fragments of armor that he can. The suit was slowly powering itself up again.

"That little alien... knew more about being human... than you ever will." Peter promises Robotnik. "His name was Sonic. He loved comic books, and chili dogs, and all he wanted was a home. This was his home... And he was my friend. I made him a promise that I would keep him safe. Even in death, I will keep that promise."

Upon hearing Peter's speech, Sonic immediately opens his eyes and stands up as his body is now supercharged with his energy, leaving Dr. Robotnik bewildered, and Peter and Emma smiling.

"Get everyone back," Peter tells Emma. "We've got this."

Emma nodded as she stepped back, letting them do their thing. "Everyone get back!"

"I think you have something that belongs to me!" Sonic clenches a fist, which starts to siphon the energy from his quill in Dr. Robotnik's Eggpod until it is no longer glowing and the energy has now been transferred back to Sonic. "This is my power, and I'm not using it to run away anymore. I'm using it to protect… my… friends!" He then looked over to Peter. "Ready, Spider-Man?"

Peter chuckled as he activated the Velocity suit again. "Ready, Sonic."

Dr. Robotnik puts on his flight goggles and readies the Eggpod's concealed weapons, the laser markers pointing at Peter and Sonic, who set a start position on the road. Dr. Robotnik grins evilly and fires the weapons and the two of them leap into action, dodging the projectiles and starting to bombard the vehicle with body slams, each barrage increasing in speed until the Eggpod is now disabled, which infuriates Dr. Robotnik. Peter leaped off the buildings and slammed into the drone, and Sonic mimicked the action as they were delivering punches of immense speed to damage the vehicle in a dazzling light show in turn overloading the electronic spider-sense.

"Now, you've done it!" Robotnik cried.

"Guess what, Eggman? I'm not leaving Earth. YOU are! Scary Diamond Lady?" Sonic called out.

Emma nods and takes position behind Dr. Robotnik and throws a Ring, opening a portal to the Mushroom Planet. Then, both Sonic and Peter charge at Dr. Robotnik as he drives ahead to slam into them, but with their combined speed, the heroes land a powerful blow to the Eggpod, reducing it to useless junk, sending it and a screaming Dr. Robotnik through the portal and it closes, sealing Dr. Robotnik away. The electricity emanating from Sonic fades away with the crowd cheering for Sonic's victory as Peter stops to let the suit cool down and sighs in relief.

"I told you you've got this," Peter said.

Sonic chuckled. "Hey, we got this."

Peter holds his hand up for a high-5, which excites Sonic so much, that he happily laughs and runs around in a circle at super speed before jumping up and giving Peter a high-5, and Emma hands the Ring satchel back to Sonic.

"I think these belong to you," Emma said.

"Thank you very much," Sonic told her.

[Before She gives Sonic back the Rings, she makes one final "rule". "But no pushing people off buildings without their consent."

"You know I can't promise that," Sonic told her.

Emma smiled as she gave the Ring satchel back to Sonic.

"You did pretty good, space 'hog," Peter commented.

"Thanks, Spider-Man," Sonic said.

"Ready to go home?" Emma asks.

Peter then froze when he remembered what occurred. "Oh, god, I completely forgot to tell you..."

Emma and Peter had a huge conversation regarding what went down with everything that destroyed their home thanks to the drones Robotnik set on them. But a few good things did come out of it as Emma did consider redecorating before they decided to move. But it seems they were here to stay. Green Hills was Peter's new home, and he was happy to stay. They were repairing the dining room while repainting the walls when there was a knock at the door.

Peter and Emma weren't expecting anybody after Tom and Maddie left after helping them out and made their way over to the door. They opened it and were shocked to see Commander Walters and Nick Fury.

"Director Fury," Peter greeted. "What can we do for you?"

Commander Walters reaches into his coat and hands them an envelope. "A token of appreciation for your government for keeping quiet about recent incidents which never occurred."

"Wow!" Peter was surprised as he took the envelope. "Wonder what it is."

"Money to fix the house?" Emma asks.

"Letter from the president?" Peter asked.

"You'll see," Fury said with a smirk.

Peter opens the envelope, revealing a $50 gift card to Olive Garden from Uncle Sam. "Olive Garden."

"Yeah, heh. The way you said "You'll see" made me think it was something better than the things we said." Peter told Fury.

"Have you tried their Never Ending Pasta Bowl? It never ends!" Walters said.

"That sounds… fancy," Peter said as he handed the card to Emma. "Gift that to Tom and Maddie."

"Mm-hmm." Emma agreed. "Well, thank you. We appreciate the gesture."

"Oh, hey. I guess we can close the file on that Robotnik guy, huh? Just disappeared." Peter said.

"I'm sorry, but no such person exists or ever has existed," Walters stated.

"I wish that were true." Peter sighed.

"He was too unstable as it is," Fury told him and gestured for Walters to step back for a minute. "And we also went ahead and cleared your names, also blurred any footage of anything that could get back to you as Spider-Man. Commander Walters has agreed to keep your identity a secret."

"Thank you, Fury," Peter said.

"You haven't, by any chance, been in contact with a certain alien creature since the incident, have you?" Walters asks. "Uncle Sam would love to have a chat with him. Very casual. Brunch, perhaps."

"Oh, you mean the little blue guy? No. No, nothing. No." Peter lied. "Doubt we'll ever hear from him again."

Commander Walters glances inside the house but Peter slowly closes the door. Commander Walters tries to peek inside a little more, but the door is now fully closed.

"That guy is a little creepy," Peter commented.

They walk into the living room and Sonic pokes his head up from behind the couch next to Lucky. Maddie brought him back from her sister's and had him back to them while they were fixing the repairs.

"So, do you guys wanna watch a movie or what?" Sonic asks.

"Sorry, mister. It's a school night." Emma told him. "It's time for you to go back to your cave.

"What?!" Sonic jumps up from behind and sits on the couch next to Lucky. "It's 3:00 in the afternoon!"

"You know how you get when you're tired. Come on." Peter told him.

"Me? I'm not like anything. Ugh, you guys are so uncool!" Sonic scoffed as he walked towards the front door.

"Hey, buddy, where you going?" Peter asks.

Sonic was now confused. "You said I have to go back to my cave."

Peter looked over to Emma and smiled. "We did."

Peter opens the hatch to the attic and they let Sonic go in first, and he is visibly surprised that all of his possessions from the cave in the woods are now in the attic.

"Oh, my- Are you kidding me? I can't believe it. How did you- It's- it's all here." Sonic was amazed as he looked around at all of his stuff.

Peter and Emma climb up as well and Sonic starts zipping around his possessions and furniture.

"Look at this! Are you kidding?! And the beanbag?!" Sonic began to speed around the place, looking over everything and at his setup. "No way! How did you even get this?! And you got it all the way over-" Sonic laughs, does a funny dance on his bed, and jumps up and down a few times. "I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it!"

Sonic lays down and then sits up as Peter and Emma sit next to him.

"Well, welcome home," Emma told him with a smile.

"Thank you, so much," Sonic told them.

Lucky then climbed up the stairs and into the bedroom.

"Oh, no, you don't! No second-best animal friends allowed in my room."

Lucky barks again and runs over to begin licking Sonic.

"Wait, what are you doing? Stay away from me! Stop it! I'm warning you, I've got nunchucks! Hey, stop! Okay, you can stay!" Sonic cried as Peter and Emma laughed at him.

We see that Dr. Robotnik has completely lost his sanity, he is looking zany, and looking at his reflection in a puddle of water as he finishes shaving himself completely bald, and his mustache has long grown out.

"My grasp on sanity remains... absolute," He then turns his head. "Isn't that right, Agent Stone?"

We see a stone carving of what is supposed to be Agent Stone. Dr. Robotnik picks up the rock.

"Why don't you get a head start?" He then tosses the rock. "Do some Rock-Connaissance!" He then began to laugh maniacally. "ROCK-CONNAISSANCE! Come on, that's hilarious!" He then slaps a mushroom. "What's the matter with you?!"

Picks up his doctor's log, which reads, DOCTOR'S LOG: DAY 87.

"Here's the "sitch": Uninhabited planet," He then picks up a large backpack and puts it on his back. "...no resources, no supplies, no apparent way home... A lesser man would die here." He then holds up a small canister with one housing Sonic's quill and the other with whats left of Peters blood that he got. "I'll be home by Christmas."

Dr. Robotnik puts the capsules away puts his flight goggles on and starts imitating a robot, making servo noises with each turn of his body as he walks. He sees the stone carving of Agent Stone again, picks it up, and throws it one last time.

"ROCK-CONNAISSANCE!" He then laughed maniacally again. "Come on! Cheer up!"

In the distance, beyond the rolling expanse of Green Hills, the tranquility of the landscape is disrupted by a low humming sound. Suddenly, leaves flutter and dance in the warm breeze as a shimmering Ring portal materializes, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the ground. Out of this vibrant vortex, a striking figure emerges—a yellow two-tailed fox known as Tails. Clutching a small, high-tech handheld device, his sharp blue eyes scan the surroundings intently as he reads the energy levels emanating from Sonic and Spider-Man.

"If these readings are accurate, They're definitely here. I can't believe I found them! I just hope I'm not too late," Tails mutters, determination lacing his voice.

With a flick of his twin tails, Tails transforms them into a whirling helicopter-like propeller, lifting off the ground gracefully. As he soars over the lush green forest, a tapestry of colorful trees and vibrant flowers unfurls below him. The quaint town, alive with the buzzing energy of its inhabitants, comes into view on the horizon, and Tails accelerates, his heart racing with both excitement and urgency.

Walters sat in the dim light of the car as it cruised toward Washington, the rhythmic hum of the engine matching the steady pulse of his racing thoughts. His eyes flicked over the files sprawled across the passenger seat, the names Peter Parker and Emma Frost leaping out at him amidst a sea of black and white. Emma's background was fairly mundane, her connections to the X-Men well-known and documented. However, it was the next file that seized his attention, sending a jolt through him: Peter Parker.

As he delved deeper, a chilling realization settled over him—Peter was the son of Richard and Mary Parker. His old friends. His brow furrowed in disbelief as he skimmed through a heavily redacted document. It was a list of names, a shadowy roster that felt all too familiar. His heart raced as he spotted the names of Richard and Mary among the entries, stirring a sense of urgency within him.

And then he saw it—Project: Shadow.

The very name sent a shiver down his spine, conjuring images of secrets buried deep and experiments conducted far from prying eyes. This clandestine project had been scrapped three decades ago, but its echoes still resonated, stirring questions that demanded answers. He can see another picture of Richard Parker smiling in a lab coat next to a much older man who is bald with a long gray mustache and a gut grasping each other's hands in a handshake while looking at the camera.
