"Happy Bday!" she was showered with confetti and many different colored streamers, she took the balloons that were given to her and smiled at the group surrounding her.
"Thanks everyone". she looked up and held her hands out catching all the small shiny pieces of paper falling around her.
"Our Leaf has finally turned 14!" Ivy sucked her into a tight hug and was soon joined in by the rest of the kids.
"Sister…." she was blushing at all the given attention, they released her and brought out a tiny simple cake with fourteen candles on it, she blew them out and sheepishly grinned as everyone clapped.
"What did you wish for"? one of the kids kept pulling her arm for an answer, she picked him up into her arms and winked, "It's a secret".
He pouted making her laugh, she put him down but was pulled in by Ivy, "Ivy? What's wrong?"
"Leaf…...i have something i need to tell you". She held onto the brunettes hand and took her into her office, she sat the young girl down on the couch and gave her tea, sitting right next to her.
"I have some really exciting news for you".
Her ears perked up, "what kind of news"?
"I found a family who wants to take you in".
"Eh?!" She stood up accidentally dropping the hot drink on herself, she yelled out stumbling around but tripped on her movements and fell back on the floor, Ivy stood there, a worried look crossed her face as the brunette kept herself on the floor.
"A-a…...f-family….wants me"? her voice was turning shaky and becoming noticeable to the older female.
"That's right…" she smiled comfortingly at her and knelt by her side.
"But…."
"But what"?
"They aren't from this area, in fact….they are actually from johto, you see…..they are a very important couple, Mr. lockhart is a powerful political party member while his wife hails from aristocracy, they are only in sinnoh for business matters".
"B-but….why would they want me? Aren't i a bit old for a couple who wants to adopt"? She frowned down at the floor.
"Actually, they said you were the perfect choice for them, upon showing them pictures of you, Mrs. Lockhart fell in love with you and said she wanted to adopt you right away, you see…..up until now they have only been able to have boys, so far they have three sons, the oldest is also adopted but the other two youngest are of their own blood, but Mrs. Lockhart deeply sought for a girl, and after her third son they told her if she had anymore children after that, problems would begin rising with her health, so they stopped trying and gave up, so you see Leaf…...Mrs. Lockhart feels she can make a special connection with you as a mother would with a daughter".
"Does….does she really feel that way"? she began fiddling with her fingers, she could feel her eyes tearing up but held them in with all her might.
Ivy nodded, she placed her hand on Leaf's shoulder and began rubbing it with her thumb in a comforting manner, "Isn't this what you always wanted? A family who will finally accept you"?
"Yes….it's what i've always wanted…...but i'm also scared of being thrown out again like all the other families i've been sent to, i don't want to be abandoned again…...i can't handle that much pain anymore".
She hugged the young girl, "Leaf...i promise you no matter what happens, i will always be here for you, the orphanage will always be your home, i only want to see you happy, you've been through so much…...you deserve happiness".
She buried her face into Ivy's shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably and allowing herself to cry out, "I know you only did this for me….but i can't leave all the people i love behind, my friends, the kids in the orphanage….you're all my family, ever since i was little…...all of you've have stuck by my side and helped me get through the toughest times…...a-and….i just can't leave…...G-Ga…".
She was cut off, "You don't want to leave Gary….because he's the most important person to you….isn't he"?
She nodded, Ivy chuckled, stroking the younger girls hair and looking up at the ceiling, "You talk about this boy so much…..i wonder what he looks like….i wonder how he is…."
"He's the most important person for me….he's my best friend, he was always by my side when i got in trouble, he always protected me, he's nice….and funny…..and knows me best". Ivy smirked as she began noticing Leaf's cheeks turn pink.
"Leaf….do you love Gary"?
Her jaw dropped, "W-what?! N-no! That's impossible! Gary is my best friend, i don't love him!" she could see the steam rising out of Leaf's head and the confused and embarrassed look on her face.
She didn't mention it but instead took on a bit of a more stern expression, "Leaf….as much as you love us and your friends, you can't let us hold you back from having what you've always wanted…." she stood up and helped Leaf back onto her feet, she turned her back and looked out the window leaving the brunette pondering in her own thoughts.
"Friends are forever…..they'll understand once you tell them, especially Gary".
"...Gary".
"But….."
(Later that Day)
She was wandering through the city, looking as down as can be, she couldn't stop staring at the ground, hoping to hide the fact that she was going to burst into tears at any given time.
*Gary…..my friends, how can i leave you all? I-i just can't, you're all my family, i don't know what i would do if i didn't have them by my side all these years, but, Mrs. Lockhart and Mr. Lockhart seem really nice and loving, well….from what sister Ivy told me that is. It's true that i've always wanted a family, one where i would be accepted into, where they would love me like i was truly one of their own, but none of my past families ever did…..they treated me like an outcast, i was always teased….i truly felt alone…..will they also do the same?*
*But then…..there was that thing that Ivy said earlier…..i have to make a decision by tonight*
"Leaf!" she broke out of her thoughts only to look back and see Dawn, Misty, and May running towards her.
"You guys! What are you doing here"? she looked at them in surprise, they gave her a sudden confused look, "What do you mean? Remember? we called you to meet us over at the smoothie shake". she looked around and noticed she was standing in front of said building.
She chuckled sheepishly, "Oh...right, sorry about that". Dawn crossed her arms and paced around the brunette slowly, "You were thinking of something….weren't you".
She waved her question off, "Of course not, so what's this urgent thing you called me about"? she noticed how the three of them had the exact same devious grins on their faces, she could feel the suspicion.
May and Dawn quickly grabbed her arms and began dragging her off while Misty walked behind them with arms crossed, "G-guys?! what's going on?!"
They dragged her into a shiny new black sleek car that was being driven by a random man, he had a drivers suit on. "Guys?!" they pushed her in and went in along as well, the car drove off as she shrieked.
They held her down as Misty blindfolded her, "Seriously you guys! this is freaking me out!"
They laughed, "Relax Leaf! this is all for you!" squealed Dawn, she was feeling super unsure now as she continued hearing her friends scream in joy.
She felt the car stop and felt the grasp of both Dawn and May's hands pulling on her arms again, unknown to her though, they were in front of a giant mansion, the estate was so huge it's fields seemed neverending, the building was as big as a castle, well..they looked like a castle better yet, colored cream with a mixture of light sunset orange, the circular driveway in which they parked in had a giant marble fountain in the center, the double door entrance had a arcanines head on each side with a hanging bar to knock with. Misty banged the door with the arcanines head and it quickly flew open.
A man in a butler outfit stood before them, he bowed and allowed them to enter, "Welcome Ladies, We've been expecting you".
"W-what….who was that?" Leaf kept looking from right to left although she couldn't see a thing from her blindfold.
They walked in and whispered into the butlers ears making sure Leaf didn't hear a word they said, he nodded and pointed to the stairs and then to the right, they ran with her and went up the stairs and towards the direction the butler gave them.
When they stopped in front of one of the room doors they looked at one another and cackled, they opened the door and stepped inside, it was huge, just as expected from a place as fine as this.
"Alright girls! Let's do this". Dawn sat Leaf on a stool and pulled out a curler, Misty pulled out four outfits covered in plastic from the closet while May pulled out a makeup bag.
"D-do what? Guys?" She decided to give up asking questions and let them do as they pleased.
(Hours later)
She no longer had a blindfold as Dawn was applying mascara to the girls lashes, she did however notice that each of the girls were properly dressed and groomed, Dawn had a light pastel pink colored dress that reached just above her knees, it was laced and sparkly with long sleeves from the top and ruffled from the bottom with many layers, she wore several long pearl necklaces around her neck and sparkly silver flats, along with a headband with a giant pink feather coated in glitter placed on her head as her hair was curled loosely from the bottom.
She then took notice of Misty's outfit, she wore a navy blue sailor inspired skirt that reached just mid thigh, blue flats, a sleeveless blue top with white colors and a red bow in the middle of it, her hair wasn't in it's signature side ponytail but instead waved down with added extensions and a white sailor hat on her head. She went to look at May who wore a dark red colored dress that reached above her knees, it was sparkly and shiny from the top which had short sleeves towards the elbows and was plain but fluffy from the bottom like a tutu, her short heels strapped themselves around her ankles, her short hair was curled and had a trail of tiny roses going across her hair like a headband.
"Done!" Dawn pulled back looking completely satisfied as she stared at Leaf, the other two joined her and squealed in excitement, she turned around and stood up from the stool, she froze upon seeing herself in the mirror.
"You look amazing!" Dawn jumped happily as she clapped for herself.
Her hair was bundled up in the side in a messy manner with tiny curled strands hanging on the sides, tiny little flowers were pinned on the side of her hair which really brought out a soothing loving look, she was wearing a neon green dress that was draped from the sweetheart bodice, tiny straps went over her shoulders and there was a silver diamond sash that went around her waist, the bottom reached down to her mid thigh and was made from chiffon to create a tutu look as well, her hands rose up from the skirt up towards the necklace hanging around her neck, the necklace that Gary bought her, it completed the entire look.
"C'mon C'mon! It's already time!" May grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the room.
"Time for what?!" she looked back at Dawn and Misty who shrugged purposely, when they reached the center of the staircase she froze, a giant crowd was gathered on the bottom floor looking up at solely her.
"Happy Birthday Leaf!" their cheers of excitement rang throughout the entire mansion, they clapped repeatedly and smiled up towards the balcony of the stairs, she looked over at her friends who clapped along and smiled at her.
"W-what…..is this"? her face was heating up.
"It's a surprise party silly!" May nudged her and then waved to the party guests below.
"You guys…...shouldn't have…." she didn't realize the smile on her face until they shook their heads.
"Actually…..this was all Gary's plan, we just helped him along, so you should really thank him". Dawn giggled as she pointed below in secrecy, she looked over the balcony and saw in the center of the crowd, Gary, smiling up at her widely.
"I can't believe...he did this all for me…"
"Yup yup, believe it, he wouldn't stop bossing us around saying he needed this party to be perfect in every possible way, he dragged US to the mall, that's right, he dragged us there, he said he had to find you the perfect dress and also find you the perfect present…...let me tell you…...i have never felt the urge to punch somebody so badly until that day". Dawn sighed and shook her head.
"He spent weeks planning this all for you, so enjoy it!" Misty playfully shoved her to go down the stairs, She ran down when she saw Gary stepping up the stairs and met him halfway throwing herself into a hug with him, "woah!" he grabbed onto the rail but then hugged her back.
"Thank you…" she whispered into his ear, luckily she didn't notice the flustered expression on his face, but the rest of the girls did and began smiling at him in a cheeky manner.
"No one…...has ever done so much for me…..no one has ever cared about me so much like you do, Gary…...thank you"
"H-hey…..i-it's just a party, c'mon don't get so emotional you dummy, it's not going to be good if you start crying when the party hasn't even begun".
"I know…...i'm just really happy to have you as my friend". she pulled back and took in a deep breath as she released it and then flashed him a smile.
"Let's party then". He chuckled and took her hand into his, they walked down the stairs together and joined the crowd below. She looked around the entire hall and saw streamers hung on the high ceilings and walls, balloons were everywhere along with a giant banner that was hung with the words "Happy Birthday Leaf", a dj and stage was set up further into the hall while tables and chairs were set up everywhere, all of them covered in a light green cloth that had scattered petals on top, tables were set off to the side with all the food and drinks as well, servers walked around with food and drinks for everyone.
One after another people from school walked up to her and said there Happy birthday to her, she was then joined by the girls along with Ash, Drew and Paul who also said there Happy Bday to her. "You guys…...i really don't know what to say besides, thank you….i…...i've never had people go as far as to throw me something as amazing as this….let alone spend so much time on me". they took on a surprised expression when they saw a tear sliding down her cheek even as she smiled at them.
They surrounded her in a group hug, "We would do anything for you Leaf, you're our friend, our family, don't ever forget that". Misty playfully poked her nose.
"Well, enough of this mushy stuff i feel like i'm going to throw up". Paul sighed and pulled himself away from the group and from Dawn who had forced him to do it.
"Only you would be disgusted by emotions". Dawn sighed and poked his cheek , he growled but didn't deny her remark.
"Be back in a bit". May winked at them and separated from the group along with Drew.
"The shows about the begin". chuckled Ash biting down on his food, he was dragged off by Misty and followed by Dawn and Paul, Gary took her hand once more and led her right behind, "What show"? she asked as she tilted her head in curiosity, "You'll see…"
She was brought up to the very front of the stage, standing in the center was May, the lights had faded shining a single one down on the short haired brunette, she pulled her hand out from behind her back and had a mic, "Leaf….this is for you".

Everyone else had joined in, dancing around the two of them who kept their eyes solely on each other, the hall began to get brighter, she glanced over and saw Dawn, Drew, Ash, Paul, and Misty appearing from different side of the crowd, each of them holding a flashing sparkler in between their hands, they closed in on the two and stood there. The rest of the crowd had also lit sparklers and held them up high to light the entire hall, she couldn't contain her tears any further.

He pulled her away and then looked up, prompting her to do the same, the glass ceiling had revealed the night sky, she noticed that everyones sparklers had died out and at the same moment she heard a big explosion from above, more fireworks, the more grand looking type, green, pink, white, and all different sorts of other colors, shooting up and lighting up the entire sky and reflecting it's lights through the ceilings glass down onto them.

She looked at everyone around her and only found them smiling towards her, she looked back at May who gave her a wink and then back at Gary who had quickly pecked her on the lips, she was frozen solid, his face had turned red just like hers, she was frightened when the entire crowd began clapping.

May flung the mic to the side and jumped off the stage letting Drew catch her, she quickly raced over to join the others and clapped along. Both of the brunettes had been silent, feeling nervous from all the attention.
The girls looked at each other and began shooing the crowd away to do their own business, "Nothing to see here people!" shouted Dawn scooting them away with Paul who easily scared them off.
"Enjoy yourselves! Dance and eat! Woohoo!" May jumped and shoved the crowd away with Drew.
Misty and Ash did the same, Ash shoved Gary who bumped with Leaf, quickly snapping him out of his frozen state, he grabbed her hand and dragged her out to the balcony leading to the garden.
They kept quiet for a bit until they both spoke out at the same time, "Um…...you first". Gary shyly smiled, he glanced away rubbing his neck in a nerve wrecking manner.
She stood quiet again, her face was turning red and eyes were watering up, her shoulders became broad and stiff causing Gary to panic, "I-i'm sorry! I didn't mean to Leaf!"
She blurted out to him, "Gary i'm leaving!" everything became silent again, he looked broken, distraught.
"W-what….." his voice became barely audible, he looked in denial, he stifled a awkward laugh, "L-leaving? you mean like back home….right"?
She shook her head, "No…...i finally found a family who wants to take me in….they are from johto…...they told me i have to be on a flight by tomorrow morning…..i was trying to find a way to tell you bu-.." she was quickly cut off.
"So that's it…...you're leaving…..you're leaving everyone behind…..hmph…." his eyes had become dark, he started walking away, she grabbed his hand crying out to him, "Gary wait!" he pulled his arm away, and turned his head back to her, she saw the tears flowing out from his eyes, the expression he had had pierced through her sharply.
He gave a tiny smile, a smile filled sadness, "Goodbye, Leaf".
She was left alone in the balcony, she fell to her knees burying her face into her hands, "Gary! Please!" she cried out but he kept walking further away, the rest of the group poured into the balcony, the girls quickly rushed in by her side while the guys chased after Gary.
She kept sobbing to herself as the girls rubbed her back and comforted her, "Gary…..please…..just listen to me…..".
He rushed out the front doors and pulled his hand out from his pocket, looking down at the small green present box, he clenched it in his hand and held it above his head, ready to throw it, the rest of the guys rushed in, Ash grabbed his hand to stop him from throwing it while Drew held him by his shoulder. Paul confronted him face to face.
"Are you stupid? Go back in there before you regret it you idiot". Gary avoided his stare.
"Shut up, leave me alone, all of you! All of this was a mistake".
"You planned all of this just to confess to her, you're a complete moron if you end the night making her hate you, everyone knows you've loved Leaf for a long time already, don't ruin everything for something stupid". Ash growled to him and tightened his grasp on Gary's shoulder and hand, he lowered it down taking the small box away from him.
Paul grabbed the small box and held it towards the brunettes face, "You went crazy looking for the perfect gift, don't just throw it away, if you don't let Leaf know how you feel about her then all your efforts were a waste from the very start, in the end you'll be making her suffer….then she'll really despise you". he shoved the small box to Garys chest making him grab it, he walked off leaving the three of them alone.
"We know Leaf is leaving tomorrow, but are you really going to end things with her like this"? Drew sighed and left as well.
Ash shook his head and patted the brunettes shoulder, "You and Leaf have a bond like no other, i don't think she'll hate you...but i do think you'll end up hating yourself, Leaf deserves her happiness like any other person, are you going to be the person who makes her regret her choice to reach that happiness?"
"I don't want her to hate me…..but what's the point of telling her my feelings when she's going to leave and live in another region, we'll be separated for good…...it's better off having her hate me and not regret leaving then to have her feel like she made a mistake going because i told her i love her, i want her to be happy….this is the only way i can let her live the life she deserves".
Ash frowned, "Are you really going to do that?" Gary nodded, looking down at the small box as his teardrop landed on it.
"If you really love somebody, then you have to let them go".
(Morning)
She stood in front of the gates of her respective flight, holding her luggage bag in one hand and the emerald necklace in the other, she handed it to Ash, smiling down at it for a final time, she rubbed her puffy eyes and took in a deep breath.
"Can you…..please give this to Gary, and tell him i'm sorry…...and that…..i'll be thinking of him everyday…" she faked a laugh, "...and of course you guys as well".
He tried to grin but it had faded into a frown, "I'll …..i'll make sure to give it to him".
The girls couldn't stop crying, they huddled around Leaf crushing her into a hug, she felt the same way and let herself cry with them as well, "I'm really going to miss you all….i'll never have friends like you guys….i'm r-really…...really going to m-miss y-you all". she cried harder.
"You have to message us everyday!" May cried out.
"And send us pictures!" Shouted Dawn.
"If anyone ever gives you trouble just tell us and we'll come no matter what! I'll steal a jet if i have to!" Sobbed Misty.
Everyone laughed, "You guys are too extreme…." she giggled, wiping her tears which wouldn't stop falling.
Drew and Paul both placed their hands on each of her shoulders, "Even though this scene is making my head hurt, it won't be the same without you, so take care". she nodded at Paul who smirked at her.
She then looked at Drew who shot her a grin as he flicked his bangs, "We'll take care of that idiot for you, don't worry, come visit whenever you can".
She then looked at Ash who was clutching the necklace into his fist, "He…..really isn't coming….is he"? he didn't respond back except just by shaking his head.
She gave a distraught smile, "I-i…..see...well, i guess it's time".
She gave them all one last hug before making her way to the gates entrance, she waved back at them and entered through facing forward, she didn't want to show them the red eyes she now had from holding back so much.
"All it took was for you to say don't go…..any of you…"
(Gary)
He was laid back on the grass of his garden, looking up at the sky as he sighed continuously, he pulled the box from his pocket and held it up to the sky blocking the light from shining down at him.
"Leaf….i love you…..if only you heard my words…..would you still have left?" He chuckled to himself, knowing that laugh was fake, he flipped the box open.
Inside was a rose gold colored ring shaped like two leafs bending, he took the ring out and looked at it closer, he trapped it inside his hand closing it tight and holding it to his chest as he closed his eyes.
He whispered to himself, "No matter what...my feelings for you will always be true…..i'll wait for you, so please….come back soon, Leaf".
(Present)
"That was really good Ivy, i haven't had home comfort food in a long time". he burped causing all the boys to become fond him, "Cool!" they yelled out, Leaf rolled her eyes while the girls cringed squealing out, "Ew!"
"Thanks Gary". she giggled patting his back and then collecting the dishes.
"I'll do the dishes". Leaf stood up from her chair and started collecting the dishes.
"I'll help too!" Gary blurted out, he rushed along his side of the table collecting all the dishes.
Leaf looked at him suspiciously but shrugged it off, they both entered into the kitchen leaving Ivy with the kids, she chuckled to herself, "I hope those two get together soon".
They stood quiet as Leaf rinsed the plates and handed them to Gary who dried them with a cloth, there was only the sound of water rushing from the sink.
She sighed and then mumbled lowly, "Th-thanks…..for helping with the dishes".
He stopped and looked over at her, seeing the redness in her face as she continued washing the dishes, he chuckled and then smiled down at her, "It's no prob…...the food was really good….besides, it felt really nice being able to eat with other people".
She finished the last dish and then stopped, staring down at the sink and then up at him, "Do you…..want some pudding"?
He looked at her in a funny manner, "Pudding"? he laughed, she was flushed with embarrassment.
"Shut up! just forget i said it". she turned her back to him but her grabbed her arm twirling her back to face him.
His face was dead serious, "I never said i didn't want it".
She pulled two small serving cups from the fridge and gave one to him, they went out to the backyard and sat on the steps as they watched the rest of the small kids play.
"It must be nice". he muttered, placing the spoon in his mouth, she looked over at him and quirked an eyebrow.
"What do you mean"?
"You get to be surrounded by a lot of people who are like family to you…..i could tell just by looking that you are very much loved".
"Yeah….i guess i am, i feel like i'm the only one who can protect them, even though i know one day i'm going to have to leave this place and live by myself, thinking about doing it soon hurts a lot".
"I envy you…...no matter what, even if you do go on your own, you still have a family back here to fall on and who will support you through anything…..i have always been alone….back home i had no one except the staff, i rarely see my own gramps because of his position…it was always eating my meals alone….and waking up to silent mornings…...my only family were all of you guys…...but like all things great….even they must come to an end".
She felt her heart beating rapidly, *I left him…..i never knew he was so alone….but he never knew my feelings as well….you jerk….why…*
He placed the cup down and sighed as he leaned back on his elbows to look up at the clear sky, "Were you sad when you left that day"?
"Huh?" she glanced over at him and saw he was looking up, she stared down at her pudding mixing it with her spoon nervously.
"That day...the day you left with your family, did you feel sad leaving because you knew you wouldn't be returning back here"?
He shifted his eyes over to her and saw her sit quietly, she slowly nodded, he couldn't see her expression because of her bangs falling over.
"I know it's none of my business…..but why did you come back, i thought you were happy about being with a family…..so why is that you're here now".
He noticed how she was trembling furiously, she crushed the cup in her hand letting the pudding spurt out over her hand and lap.
"Leaf…..what's wrong?!" he grabbed her by the shoulders and saw her eyes flowing with tears, her lips were trembling, her expression wasn't like one he knew, it wasn't of sadness...but rather of fear.
"Leaf…...what happened to you"? she wouldn't say a word, he began getting frustrated and started to shake her, "What happened?!"
She shoved him away and ran back inside, he looked back and saw all of the kids staring at him, he quickly took off after her, she went running up the stairs and inside her room, slamming the door in his face, he banged it yelling out to her, "Leaf! Open the door! Tell me what happened!"
"What's going on?!" Ivy rushed in, she stared at Gary who had his fists against the door.
"Ivy….." he looked at her, she grabbed his arm and pulled him away down the stairs and into her office, she seated him down and sat across from him.
She seemed to have taken a darker more serious expression, "What happened"?
He sighed, combing his hand through his hair, "Ivy…...it's been bothering me for a while now….but, why is Leaf back in sinnoh? The last time i remember, she had left to be with her new family in Johto…..what is she doing back here….why did she act like that? Did something happen to her over there?" he was becoming anxious that his heart was racing dangerously fast.
She placed her hand on her forehead and stared down at the ground, "Gary….i don't think it's in my place to discuss Leaf's personal matters with you…..but, i think since you're her childhood friend….your the only one who can help her".
"Help her? What do you mean"?
"Leaf…..ran away from the family, when she came back here she was a completely different person, she had a dark look in her eyes that i've never seen before, every night after that, she would wake up the entire house screaming in pain and horror, she cried from the nightmares, she was always afraid of being surrounded by other people other than the kids and me here, it took a while before we could get her to trust others again but we managed….after that, she had surrounded herself with this rough shell, she turned violent and rebellious, anyone who messed with her she would beat to a pulp, she developed this cold attitude to push people away...the only time we'll ever only see her be warm and kind is when she's here…".
"Why….why would she do that? She was always dreaming about being part of a family, she got the chance so then why did she run away from it? Leaf, she used to be kind and sweet, i know she was a bit rough back then...but this isn't like her….." He groaned from frustration, ruffling his hair madly and then sighing.
"After she ran away…...Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart decided her rebellious act was too much, they didn't want her to spoil their image by what she had done, they told me that even though they are still her adoptive parents, they wouldn't break the contract, otherwise the news would leak out to the media, instead, they insisted that Leaf just stay here and that they will just donate money to the Orphanage every month in exchange for keeping this matter silent, i didn't like the idea but Leaf seemed set and relieved to be back here, i had no choice but to accept".
"Something's just not right though….what could have happened to her"?
He stood up from the sofa and looked down at Ivy who looked up at him, "I can't let this matter go, i'm gonna find out what happened to Leaf back in Johto….i don't care what it takes, i'm going to know the truth". he rushed out the door causing Ivy to follow after him.
"Gary, wait!" she stopped when she saw him run up to the stairs, he stopped in front of her door and pressed his head against it.
"Leaf…...Ivy told me everything….i don't care what it takes, but i'm going to figure out the truth….i'm going to figure out what happened to you back there…..i know this is random...but i'm sorry i never went to the airport that day to say goodbye…...i couldn't go because i knew how much it would hurt to let you go….but now i regret it, i regret never seeing you off that day…i regret not going and stopping you...i'm sorry...for everything". He sighed and turned his back to the door walking away.
He made his way down the stairs and out the entrance with Ivy, he faced and gave her a reassuring grin, it quickly faded and became a dark expression "I going to find the truth…...anyone who hurt her is going to pay, i'll make them regret ever being born…..i promise you that".
(Leaf)
She was staring out her window, watching below as Gary got inside his car and drove off, she then noticed that Ivy had looked up, staring directly at her, she sighed and walked away from the window, wiping her tears, she crawled onto her bed and curled up as she hugged her pillow.
She could still hear his words ringing through her ears, "Why…..why did you have to tell me that….i hate you Gary…...i hate all of you…..you guys left me….if only you would have told me to stay…..then i would have….but you threw me away…...i suffered so much because you guys let me go like nothing….".
She felt her phone buzzing on her nightstand, she reached for it and looked at the number, she gasped as her eyes jolted open in fear, her hand began trembling furiously causing her to quickly throw her phone against the wall.
She closed her eyes and hugged her pillow tighter, "No…...i changed my number for the third time already….how can that be..." she cried into her sheets, flinching with every sound of vibration still ringing from her phone.
