Chapter 54:

Ichigo opened his eyes and let out a yawn as he sat up in bed, feeling no resistance.

"It's been a while since I've woken up alone," Ichigo thought. He got out of bed and changed into a set of workout clothes before heading out of his room. He was greeted by Moka, Yuzu, and Karin, all dressed in their workout gear. Together, they stepped outside and did some light stretches. They then ran along a dirt trail through the town, which revealed itself as a quiet village nestled in the countryside. After their run, they returned to the Ravenscroft Manor and began their cooldown stretches.

Next, everyone took turns sparring with Ichigo, who was more experienced, skilled, and tough enough to avoid injury. Ichigo removed his shirt, revealing his muscular and scarred upper body. Yasaka, Kunou, Elizabeth, and Ben had woken up by this point and made their way down, sitting with the tired Yuzu and Karin.

"Go, Papa!" Kunou suddenly cheered. Elizabeth turned to her partner in crime.

"Go Kaa-san!" Elizabeth cheered back. The two children locked eyes, glaring at each other.

"Beat Moka-san's butt!" Kunou shouted.

"Kaa-san win!" Elizabeth cheered in response. Yasaka chuckled at their playful banter.

"Um… will they be safe?" Ben asked, wincing at the loud smacks from their attacks.

"Don't worry, they aren't trying to hurt each other. They're just sparring," Yasaka casually reassured.

"This is sparring?" Ben asked skeptically.

"Trust me, they're not using any of their powers, except reinforcing their limbs," Yasaka said.

"Ichi-nii is still stronger than ever," Yuzu said. Karin nodded.

"But he's also learned new techniques and fighting styles," Karin added. "When he dodges attacks, he used to step back or to the side. Now, he swerves his body or blocks the attacks, continuing either until he finds an opening and strikes."

"Hey, what's going on here?" someone asked. The group turned to see the Hex Girls approaching.

"Oh, hey ladies," Ben greeted.

"Ichigo and Moka are sparring right now," Yasaka explained.

"And Papa is going to win!" Kunou shouted.

"No, Kaa-san's going to win!" Elizabeth retorted.

Moka delivered a roundhouse kick with her right leg, but Ichigo leaned back just in time, letting it fly past him. Moka quickly followed up with a back-hook kick using her left leg, but Ichigo swerved again, narrowly avoiding the blow. He noticed Moka's imbalance from the dodge. Before she could recover, Ichigo swept her right leg, sending her crashing to the ground. Moka was still trying to react when Ichigo executed a low sidekick aimed at her neck, stopping just short of her chin.

"I think this is my win," Ichigo said, smirking.

"You win again, Ichigo," Moka sighed.

Ichigo pulled his leg away from her chin and extended his hand to help her up. Moka grabbed his hand, and Ichigo pulled her to her feet. But suddenly, Moka lunged forward and wrapped her arms tightly around his back. She widened her stance and flipped him over her, bending her back in a C shape as Ichigo landed on his back.

"Did—did she just suplex him?" Ben asked, astonished by the unexpected move.

"She did, Ben," Thorn confirmed.

Moka quickly sprang back to her feet, looking down at Ichigo.

"Do you admit defeat, Ichigo?" Moka asked a playful glint in her eyes.

Ichigo jumped back to his feet.

"That was a weak hug, Moka," Ichigo teased, dusting off some dirt. "Let me show you a real hug," he said, smirking.

Ichigo charged toward Moka, who prepared herself for the incoming attack. But Ichigo grinned as he swerved to the side, then began to tickle her at her waist.

"I-Ichi-go!" Moka cried out, squirming and trying to fight off his tickling assault. She fell to the floor, unable to escape.

"Do you want to end the fight now?" Ichigo teased, continuing his tickling.

"N-n-no," Moka gasped, laughing uncontrollably. "Stop it!"

"Just say it," Ichigo pressed.

"I-I… learned my pl-ace!" Moka finally shouted.

Ichigo stopped tickling her, and Moka lay on the ground, exhausted. Ichigo looked around and saw everyone else had joined Yuzu and Karin on the patio.

"Hello, everyone," Ichigo greeted.

"Good morning, Ichigo," Ben and the Hex Girls replied.

"You should hit the shower, Ichi-nii," Karin suggested.

"I guess I will," Ichigo agreed.

"Take your time, I've got breakfast covered," Ben offered.

"Sure," Ichigo said. Turning to Moka, he added, "Do you need help getting the bath ready?"

Moka groaned as she stood up.

"I'd be fine if I had some of your blood," Moka asked sweetly.

"Nope," Ichigo replied, "Punishment for cheating."

"What!?" Moka shouted. Ichigo ignored her and started walking toward the house.

"Ichigo!" Moka shouted, chasing after him.

"Are they always like that?" Luna asked, watching the exchange.

"Kind of," Yuzu said.

"Moka loves drinking Ichigo's blood. Sometimes it's like a healthy addiction for her," Karin explained.

"I noticed she can eat regular food at dinner. Our textbooks say vampires only drink human blood," Ben noted.

"It depends on the vampire's heritage and upbringing," Yasaka said. "Some vampires who were once human become addicted to human blood and can't survive without it. Others, born as vampires, are raised on human food before they start drinking blood."

"I see… so why isn't that information in books?" Ben wondered.

"Maybe to further dehumanize vampires or keep the fear of them alive?" Yuzu suggested.

With that, Yuzu and Karin headed upstairs to shower.

"To think that was a sparring match," Thorn mused.

"Yeah, for a moment, I thought they were seriously fighting," Ben said.

"I wonder what Ichigo really is," Dusk said. The others turned to her.

"We know Moka's a vampire, a powerful monster, and Ichigo easily overpowered her in that spar," she continued.

"Maybe a werewolf?" Luna suggested.

"No, werewolves and vampires are usually enemies," Thorn pointed out.

"Maybe not in Japan?" Luna replied.

"Maybe," Dusk said thoughtfully.

"Could he be a demigod?" Ben suggested.

"Either way, let's impress these Japanese with a delicious homemade American breakfast," Thorn said. With that, they headed to the kitchen, leaving Kunou, Elizabeth, and Yasaka alone outside.

"What should we do?" Kunou asked, looking to Yasaka for guidance.

"Let's go to the living room and wait for the others," Yasaka suggested.

"Okay, Okaa-san," Kunou agreed. They went to the living room to wait. Soon after, Ichigo, Moka, Yuzu, and Karin walked downstairs and found Kunou and Elizabeth playing with their dolls while Yasaka was reading a scroll.

"Yasaka, is that work-related?" Ichigo asked.

"Um... no?" Yasaka replied, and the scroll disappeared. The delicious smell of breakfast wafted from the kitchen. Dusk walked out.

"Breakfast is almost ready, please head to the dining room," she said before returning to the kitchen. The group moved from the living room to the dining room, taking the same seats as the previous night. Dusk and Luna carried giant plates of pancakes, waffles, bacon, and sausage. Ben brought a large pitcher of orange juice and milk, and Thorn carried containers full of different syrups and fruit toppings. Everything was set up on a side table, creating a buffet.

"Dig in," Ben said. Ichigo and his group went first, followed by the Hex Girls, and finally Ben. The kids were enjoying the colorful and messy breakfast, with Kunou and Elizabeth each taking a pancake and trying every possible combination of toppings. All the adults chuckled at their reactions.

"So, what are you planning to do now?" Ben asked.

"I originally planned to visit Ilvermorny, but after you mentioned the logging process, I decided it would be a bad idea," Ichigo said.

"That's a good call," Ben agreed. "If Professor Fontaine is still the Headmaster of Ilvermorny, he would've called the DLME immediately and had you and your entire group arrested. You'd end up stuck in bureaucratic hell." Moka and Yasaka smacked Ben on the head.

"Ow," Ben muttered.

"No swearing in front of the kids," the mothers said in unison.

"Sorry," Ben said sheepishly.

"So, what are you planning to do now?" Moka asked.

"I'm planning to drive west," Ichigo replied.

"Good idea. The MACUSA focuses more on the East Coast," Ben said.

Soon, breakfast ended, and Ichigo and his group packed up their bags. They all stepped outside the Ravenscroft Estate and turned to Ben and the Hex Girls.

"Thank you for having us," they all said, bowing in gratitude.

"No problem. Visit us in the future," Ben said.

"Let us know if you end up going to Japan," Moka called out.

"Sure," Thorn replied. They all got into Ichigo's car and drove off.

"So, what are you planning to do?" Moka asked.

"I plan to take all of you back to Japan," Ichigo said.

"What!?" Everyone shouted in surprise.

"Let me explain," Ichigo said, "First off, it's about 10 pm in Japan right now. You all have school tomorrow."

"What about me?" Yasaka asked since she didn't have school to worry about like the others.

"You could keep me company," Ichigo said, "If you're willing to let someone else take care of Kunou."

Yasaka's eyes widened with realization. "I hate you so much right now," she said.

Ichigo smirked as he found an empty road with no cameras. He opened a Garganta and drove through it.

Scene Change: Ichigo's Estate

Ichigo drove his car out of the Garganta. Despite it being nighttime, the lights in the manor were on. He parked his car at the entrance of the estate. The main door opened, and Sakuya stepped out.

"Hello, Master," she greeted. Everyone got out of the car.

"Hello, Sakuya," Ichigo replied. He handed her the sleeping potion. "Make sure everyone takes the potion and wakes up at their normal time."

"Yes, Master," Sakuya said.

"Good night, Papa. Thank you for the fun experience," Kunou said, hugging Ichigo.

"Tou-san!" Elizabeth exclaimed as she ran to Ichigo. He opened his arms and hugged her as well.

"It's good that you enjoyed it," Ichigo said, letting go of them as they ran into the estate. He turned to Yuzu and Karin.

"Good night, Ichi-nii," Yuzu said.

"Night, Ichi-nii," Karin added.

"Good night, you two. Keep training—I can tell you've both gotten much stronger since Pandemonium," Ichigo said as they walked toward the estate with smiles on their faces.

Ichigo turned to Moka and Yasaka.

"I hate you sometimes," Moka grumbled.

"And I know the key to making you stop hating me," Ichigo teased as he turned his neck to the side. Moka glared at him and walked over to his neck. She bit down and drank his blood. Ichigo heard Moka let out a delighted moan as she drank. She pulled away and licked his neck, watching the wound close.

"See you later," Moka said as she walked upstairs.

Yasaka looked at Ichigo. "It's getting late. Doesn't the princess need her beauty sleep?"

Ichigo smirked. "No, this princess isn't working tomorrow," Yasaka replied. "But this princess isn't ready for the day to be over."

"Oh?"

"Follow me," Yasaka said, turning and walking toward the nearby forest. She suddenly stopped, tapping Ichigo's arm.

"Tag, you're it," she smirked, transforming into her fox form and dashing into the forest. Ichigo smirked back, transforming into a fox with orange fur and nine tails. He chased after her, and the two foxes played a game of tag, losing themselves in the moment.

Eventually, they transformed back into human form.

"I didn't know you could transform into a fox," Yasaka said, catching her breath.

"It was due to Ophis. A part of her blessing was the ability to shapeshift," Ichigo explained.

"Oh?"

"Indeed," Ichigo confirmed. They looked up at the full moon.

"That was nice," Yasaka said.

"We should do that again with Kunou," Ichigo suggested.

"Sure. More family bonding time," Yasaka agreed.

Ichigo stood up and looked at Yasaka. "Let's get you back to the estate." He held his arm out to her. Yasaka grabbed his arm, and he pulled her up. She dusted off her clothes.

"Um… where are we?" Yasaka asked.

"Let me guess, you don't know where the estate is," Ichigo said with a chuckle.

"Shut it," Yasaka replied, crossing her arms and looking away. Ichigo continued to chuckle.

"Does the Princess wish for this servant to take her home?" Ichigo teased.

"You shall," Yasaka replied. Ichigo smirked. In one swift movement, he picked up Yasaka in a Princess Carry.

"EEP!" Yasaka squealed. "Put me down!"

"No can-do, princess," Ichigo said, beginning to use low-power shunpō, deliberately holding Yasaka tightly. She leaned against Ichigo's muscular frame, feeling the strength of his body. Suddenly, she remembered seeing him shirtless. Yasaka blushed, burying her face in his chest to hide her embarrassment. Ichigo smirked as he continued his way back to the manor.

Soon, they arrived. Ichigo gently placed Yasaka on the ground.

"Thank you," she said before running into the manor. Ichigo chuckled and entered as well. He found Jeanne and Joan's rooms, which were next to each other, and knocked on both doors.

"Coming," Jeanne gently answered.

"Coming," Joan grumbled. The doors opened, and Ichigo saw Jeanne dressed in a white nightgown while Joan wore an oversized black t-shirt.

"Hello, Ichigo," they both greeted. Jeanne gave Joan a friendly smile, but Joan rolled her eyes.

"Evening, ladies. I was wondering if you two would like to join me in America," Ichigo asked.

"Really?" they asked.

"Yes," Ichigo confirmed.

"Sure," they said, closing their doors behind them. A few moments later, they reappeared in casual clothes. Ichigo nodded.

"Let's go," Ichigo said. They all headed outside to his car.

"So, who's sitting in front?" Joan asked.

"You could," Jeanne offered.

"Sure," Joan replied. Everyone got into the car and drove into the Garganta.

Scene Change: New York City

Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan arrived in an empty alleyway. Ichigo stopped the car.

"Where are we?" Joan asked.

"New York City, America," Ichigo replied, and a small map of America appeared behind his headrest, showing their location with a little car icon.

"This shows us where we are?" Jeanne asked.

"Correct," Ichigo answered.

"That's America? How big is it compared to France?" Jeanne asked.

"Hm…" Ichigo said as he pulled out his phone and did some quick calculations. "Right now, comparing the current size of France to America… it's 18 times bigger."

"WHAT!" the French Maidens shouted in shock.

"Yep," Ichigo said. He activated the camouflage function, making the car invisible through both magical and non-magical methods. Ichigo then created an invisible reishi path and began driving on it. Jeanne and Joan marveled at the size of New York City below them, seeing countless people and cars.

"Just how many people live here?" Joan asked.

"Hm… almost 8 million people," Ichigo said.

"That many!?" Joan exclaimed.

"Yep. Just in this one city," Ichigo added.

"Just how many people live in America?" Jeanne asked.

"Hm… about 300 million," Ichigo replied.

"Oh Lord," Jeanne said.

"Also, an interesting fact," Ichigo continued, "It's predicted that the world population in the 15th century would be about 300 million."

"I'm going to regret this…" Joan muttered.

"The current world population is about 6.7 billion. With a 'b'," Ichigo said.

"Th-That's just too much," Joan said.

"It's all right. Just sit back and enjoy the ride," Ichigo said as they continued to drive invisibly through the air.

"So where are we heading?" Jeanne asked.

"To a small town in Indiana," Ichigo said, and the map highlighted the state.

"Why?" Joan asked.

"According to the local newspaper, ghosts have appeared and begun terrorizing the town," Ichigo explained.

"So you're going there to stop them?" Jeanne asked.

"And spend some time with both of you," Ichigo replied. Just then, something large and red flew past them.

"What was that?" Joan asked.

Ichigo did a U-turn and followed the red object. They saw a tall, muscular red dragon. Ichigo drove behind the dragon as it flew toward Chinatown. The dragon landed on the roof of Canal Street Electronics, and the red dragon was enveloped in fire before turning into a teenage boy. He had semi-long black, spiky hair with green highlights, a red jacket, blue cargo shorts, and grey shoes. Ichigo parked the car on the roof.

"Nice powers, kid," Ichigo said as he deactivated the camouflage function.

"What the!" the teenager yelled in shock. "Dragon Up!" He transformed into his dragon form and got into a fighting stance.

"$: Relax. :$" Ichigo ordered in Parseltongue. The dragon immediately dropped his fighting stance.

"What… what did you do?" the dragon asked.

"Jake," someone called out. They turned to see an elderly man with a dog.

"Gramps, he did something to me," Jake warned.

"Relax, Jake," the old man said. Turning to Ichigo, he added, "Hello, Shinigami and companions. Come inside for some tea."

"Sure," Ichigo said as Joan and Jeanne stepped out of the car.

"Gramps!" Jake yelled.

"Kid, turn back to normal," the dog said.

Jake sighed and reverted to his human form. Ichigo sent his car back to his mindscape. They all followed the old man downstairs.

"I got the tea," the dog said.

Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan sat on one side of the couch while the old man and Jake sat on the other side.

"Gramps, who are they?" Jake asked.

"My name is Ichigo Kurosaki."

"I'm Jeanne."

"Joan."

"This is my grandson Jake Long, and I am Lao Shi Luong," the elderly man said.

"We were driving when your grandson flew right past my car, surprising us. We turned around and followed him," Ichigo explained.

"How were you able to stay invisible from my eyes?" Jake asked.

"Secret," Ichigo replied with a smirk.

"How were you able to order me?" Jake asked.

"I spoke in Parseltongue; a magical language that allows me to communicate with and command all snakes and dragons." Jake's eyes widened, and he turned to his grandfather.

"Gramps, is that true?" Jake asked. Lao Shi closed his eyes.

"Normal Parseltongue would only be effective on snakes, not dragons," Lao Shi said. "Unless you were blessed with the ability by someone powerful."

"Indeed," Ichigo confirmed. "I received a blessing from Ophis." Lao Shi's eyes widened in shock.

"I-I see," Lao Shi muttered. Jake had never seen his grandfather act like that.

"Who is O—" Jake started, but Lao Shi covered his mouth.

"Don't mention the name," Lao Shi warned.

"Who is—" Jake started again.

"One of the strongest beings in existence," Lao Shi explained. "It is known as the Ouroboros Dragon and the Infinite Dragon. You are smaller than a speck of dust in its eye."

"I see…" Jake said, feeling the weight of his words.

"How come I've never heard of… it?" Jake asked.

"Because you weren't ready to know the truth," Lao Shi said.

"The truth?" Jake asked. Lao Shi sighed deeply, and just then, the dog returned, carrying a pot of tea and enough cups for everyone. He poured a cup and handed it to Lao Shi, who gladly took it and sipped.

"Thank you, old friend," Lao Shi said.

"No problem," the dog replied as he poured tea for everyone.

"Remember when I told you I was the 'Chinese Dragon' and the Magical Protector of China?" Lao Shi began. Jake nodded. "Well, there were parts I left out."

"Huh?" Jake asked, confused.

"You see, the Te Xuan Ze, the Magical Protector of China, belonged to the Luong bloodline," Lao Shi continued. "A curse was placed on the bloodline, preventing twins from being born. Somehow, that curse was broken when my sister and I were born. As we grew older, the powers from our bloodline manifested in both of us. I gained the ability to transform into a dragon, but my human form didn't gain any superpowers. My sister, on the other hand, suddenly became proficient in magic, an expert in hand-to-hand combat, and a master of the Wushu staff. But she didn't gain the ability to transform into a dragon."

"But you are proficient in magic and an expert in hand-to-hand combat," Jake countered.

"At that time, I wasn't," Lao Shi explained. "It took years before I became an expert in those fields. Both of us trained in our inherited abilities. Soon, our father, the current Te Xuan Ze, had to step down from his position. The Luong Elders decided we must fight for the 'honor' of being Te Xuan Ze. My sister and I, a little older than you, agreed to the fight. We fought long and hard. In the end, I won, and I became the Te Xuan Ze. My sister accepted her defeat but vowed that her heir would return and become Te Xuan Ze."

"I see… Who is your sister's heir?" Jake asked.

"Her name is Juniper Lee," Lao Shi explained.

"What if neither one of us wants to fight?" Jake asked, concerned.

"Then the Luong Elders will force both of you to marry to reunite the two halves," Lao Shi said. Jake's eyes widened.

"Wait… WHAT!" Jake yelled, looking at his grandfather. "Don't they care about our opinions?"

Lao Shi shook his head. "The Luong Elders only care for the Greater Good of China."

"Then why don't we f—AHHHHHH" Jake began, but suddenly screamed in pain. Jeanne and Joan were startled by his outburst.

"Jake, you foolish boy," Lao Shi scolded.

"G-gramps, what was that?" Jake asked, still in pain.

"That was your Luong magic," Lao Shi said. "It lashed out at you for your thoughts."

"Changing topics here… so who is he?" Jake asked again.

"He is from Japan, where they follow different rules than China," Lao Shi started. "Many of the intelligent magical creatures—vampires, werewolves, foxes, witches, and wizards—established their own government to protect themselves while hiding from the non-magical world."

"Why haven't the intelligent magical creatures established their own government here?" Jake asked.

"Who said they haven't?" Lao Shi replied. "When I moved here, the American magical government became aware of me and the importance of Te Xuan Ze. We agreed that I and my apprentice would watch over the magical creatures living in New York City."

"How come I've never seen them here?" Jake asked.

"They're good at avoiding us," Lao Shi said.

"Anyways… what about him?" Jake asked, motioning toward Ichigo.

"I am a Shinigami, a group of people who protect the World of the Living from the corrupted souls of the dead," Ichigo explained.

"I see…" Jake muttered. "Gramps, I think I need some time alone," Jake said, grabbing his skateboard and running out. Lao Shi let out another long sigh and grabbed his phone.

"I'll keep an eye on the kid," the dog said as he chased after Jake.

"I'm sorry we forced your hand," Ichigo apologized.

"It's not your fault," Lao Shi replied, dialing a number. "Susan, please call the school and tell them Jake has a family emergency."

"Dad, what happened to Jake?" Susan asked on the other end.

"I was forced to tell him the truth," Lao Shi replied.

"Oh no," Susan said.

"Where's Jake?" she asked.

"He needs some time alone. Fu Dog is keeping an eye on him," Lao Shi said.

"Very well," Susan sighed. "Please keep me informed about his situation."

"Do you want my help?" Ichigo offered.

"Thank you for the offer, but we'll handle it," Lao Shi said. Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan stood up and walked back to the roof. Ichigo summoned the car. They all got inside, and Jeanne and Joan swapped places. Ichigo activated the camouflage function, and the car flew into the air.

"Shouldn't we try and help them?" Jeanne asked.

"No. Lao Shi told us they will take care of it," Joan said.

"I agree with Joan," Ichigo said, glancing at Jeanne. "Our actions forced Lao Shi to reveal the truth to Jake, something they had planned to reveal when he was older."

The car fell silent as Ichigo navigated through New York City, avoiding any flying creatures. Soon, they reached the outskirts and drove onto an empty highway at over 100 miles per hour.

"Ichigo… do you think we could meet angels?" Jeanne suddenly asked.

"Why?" Ichigo asked, glancing at her.

"I've always wanted to meet an angel," Jeanne replied, blushing slightly.

"Well… I see an angel every time I see you," Ichigo said. Jeanne's face turned even redder, and she quickly looked away.

"Oh? What about me?" Joan asked. "Do you see a monster or the devil?" Ichigo turned to Joan.

"First off, devils actually have a human-like appearance," Ichigo said. "They also have bat-like wings on their backs. And second, I see the most human devil I've ever seen. Someone whose beauty is so inhumanly possible but acts just like a human." Joan smacked him on the arm and turned to the side. Ichigo grinned, maintaining his smirk as he drove out of New York, briefly entering New Jersey, and heading into Pennsylvania.

"To answer your question, Jeanne," Ichigo started, "I'll talk with Michael and Gabriel to see if they're able to visit."

"M-M-Michael?" Jeanne nervously repeated.

"And G-Gabriel?" Joan stammered.

"Two of the Archangels?" they both said in unison.

"Yep," Ichigo said as he continued driving, soon hearing complete silence. Ichigo turned to see both Jeanne and Joan passed out.

"I guess telling them they'll meet two archangels was too much for them," Ichigo thought.

"According to legend, Michael was one of the angels that spoke to her," Azazel commented from within Ichigo's mind.

"Oh, Azazel… I forgot you were in my mind," Ichigo said.

"It's fine," Azazel replied. "Joan might question him if he indeed was the one who spoke to her and demand to know why he didn't intervene to save her."

Ichigo sighed. "I'll deal with the repercussions when it comes to it," he said, continuing to drive.

Time Skip: Three hours later

Ichigo noticed something strange ahead. He saw a normal RV driving in front of him, but atop the RV was a trucker's rest stop. A few trucks were parked beside it. The sign read 'No Stop Truck Stop.'

"Either the owner's an insane engineer or magical," Ichigo thought. He saw one of the trucks pull out of the stop. Ichigo drove up the ramp and parked his car there.

Ichigo turned to Joan, who was peacefully sleeping, then to Jeanne, who was also asleep. He pulled out his phone and took a few photos of the sleeping girls. Afterward, he gently shook Joan awake.

"Wha—?" she muttered as she slowly woke up.

"Good morning," Ichigo said.

"Mor—ning," Joan replied, still groggy. Ichigo then turned to Jeanne and gently shook her knee.

"Wake up, Jeanne." Jeanne's eyes slowly fluttered open.

"Morning," Jeanne replied. "Where are we?"

"That's a good question," Ichigo said. "We're at a rest stop. A good time to get some food and take a break from driving," Ichigo explained as he stepped out of the car. He did a few simple stretches, his back cracking as he moved. Jeanne and Joan joined him, and that's when they noticed they were still moving, despite not physically being in motion.

"Um… Ichigo, why are we still moving?" Jeanne asked.

"Because this is the No Stop Truck Stop," someone said. Ichigo turned to see a young boy with red hair.

"Can I get a table for three?" Ichigo asked.

"Sure." He pointed to an empty booth. Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan sat in the booth. Menus were placed on the table, and they began to look them over.

"Hey, Candace! Welcome to the No Stop Truck Stop! It's like a little bit of home, on the road!" the boy with the red hair called out.

"Phineas, my last peaceful hours of vacation, and you build this?!" Candace yelled.

"More coffee, Miss?" one of the customers asked. Candace grabbed the coffee pot.

"This is unbelievable!" Candace shouted as she poured coffee for the customer. "When Mom sees this one, she's gonna completely flip!"

"Miss, I'd like the Breakfast Special," Ichigo said. Candace pulled out a notebook and wrote down his order.

"Honestly, you can't close your eyes for one second around you boys," Candace muttered as she wrote. "Hashbrowns or fruit?"

"Hashbrowns," Ichigo answered. Candace jotted it down.

"What about you two?" she asked, turning to Jeanne and Joan.

"Can I get Biscuits and Gravy?" Jeanne asked.

"I'll get the Breakfast Special with Hashbrowns," Joan said.

"Drinks?"

"Three glasses of water," Ichigo replied. Candace finished writing their order and ripped the order sheet out. She looked at Phineas.

"You are so busted!" she said before walking away and beginning to argue with her brother. Soon, they started singing a song.

"The song is kind of catchy," Ichigo commented.

"Ichigo, how are you so calm about this?" Jeanne asked.

"What's the problem?" Joan asked, drinking her water.

"She's talking about the magic that the boys are placing around everyone," Ichigo explained.

"Wait… what magic?" Joan asked, confused.

"Everyone but us and the three siblings is magical," Ichigo said. "I suspect the brothers are wandlessly applying compulsions on everyone, making them think this is all normal."

"But their sister isn't affected by the compulsion," Jeanne noted.

"She may have built resistance to it," Ichigo theorized. Soon, their food arrived, and they devoured it. Ichigo turned to the cook and gave him a thumbs-up. The cook responded with his own thumbs-up.

After about 10 minutes, Phineas walked by.

"So, how's the food?" he asked.

"It's delicious," Ichigo said.

"Could we get three slices of apple pie?" Jeanne asked.

"Sure," Phineas said, running into the kitchen. A moment later, he returned with three slices of apple pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on each plate. He placed them down on the table.

"Thank you," Ichigo said.

"Here's the bill," Phineas said as he walked away from the table. They finished their dessert, and Ichigo placed a $100 bill on the table before leaving.

They all climbed back into the car.

"Ready to go?" Ichigo asked.

"Yes," Jeanne replied.

"Yep," Joan replied. Ichigo started the car again and sped out of the No Stop Truck Stop. In a few minutes, they were alone on the highway once more. This time, Jeanne and Joan sat in the back.

"These are the files I found regarding the town," Ichigo said, handing them his laptop.

"We'll look into this," Jeanne said, taking the laptop from him.

Time Skip: Three hours later

"We just crossed into Indiana," Ichigo said.

"How much farther until we reach the town?" Joan asked.

"Maybe an hour. It's a small town called Amity Park," Ichigo replied.

"So, are these ghosts the same as souls?" Jeanne asked.

"From what I've read, it appears so," Ichigo said. "News articles say these ghosts can shoot lasers, phase through things, and possess people or objects," he explained. "Reiatsu based energy blasts would explain the lasers. Souls normally phase through physical matter. But possession is something different."

"How so?" Jeanne asked.

"I've dealt with possession before, but the victims were also spiritually aware," Ichigo explained.

"So, either these ghosts are different from the souls you encountered, or everyone in the town is spiritually aware," Joan concluded.

"That's what I've concluded too," Ichigo agreed. They soon spotted a giant sign.

"Amity Park: A nice place to live!" the sign read.

"Guess we're here," Joan said. Ichigo closed his eyes, focusing on the reiatsu around the city.

"There's a lot of reiatsu here," Ichigo admitted.

"How much of the population is spiritually aware?" Jeanne asked.

"It seems like everyone in the city is spiritually aware," Ichigo said.

"Anyone powerful?" Joan asked.

"The strongest I could sense is someone at the level of a regular fukutaichō, maybe slightly stronger than that," Ichigo said. "Everyone else is barely spiritually aware." Ichigo continued driving, scanning the area for his targets.

"I think I just found the source of the regular fukutaichō reiatsu," Ichigo said as he parked his car. They could see a maroon-colored house with a large mechanical contraption attached to the roof. Suddenly, a massive surge of ghosts shot out of the house. Ichigo observed all kinds of ghosts pouring out.

"Many of these ghosts are recurring ones that attack this city," Jeanne said, pulling up photos of some of the news articles.

The ghosts surrounded a boy. He appeared male with snow-white hair, glowing green eyes, and tanned skin. He wore a black suit with matching white boots, a white collar, a white belt, and white forearm-length gloves. On his chest was a white 'D' with ghost trails, and the negative space inside it formed a 'P.'

The ghosts began attacking the boy all at once. In moments, the boy was slammed to the ground. He transformed, now having black hair and blue eyes. He wore a white T-shirt with a thin red collar, red cuffs, and a red oval in the middle, light blue jeans, and red-and-white sneakers.

Ichigo stepped out of the car and snapped his fingers. Red portals began to appear around him, and the Chains of Hell shot out, striking the ghosts in the chest, and pinning them down. In a few moments, all the ghosts were trapped.

"I'll see you soon," Ichigo said as the Chains of Hell pulled the captured ghosts into Hell. Ichigo turned to face the ghost boy. A girl ran out of the house. She had fair skin, violet eyes, and short black hair with a small ponytail at the top, held by a green hair tie. She wore purple lipstick, a black choker, a black tank top exposing her midriff with a purple oval in the center, a black striped skirt with a green crosshatch design, purple leggings, and black combat boots, along with black bracelets around her wrists.

"Danny," she cried, running to the boy. "Are you all right?"

"I am," Danny said, then turned to Ichigo. "He saved me and captured all the ghosts."

"I'm Ichigo Kurosaki and this is Jeanne and Joan," Ichigo introduced as Jeanne and Joan stepped out of the car.

"I'm Danny, and this is Sam."

"So, let's see what scared all these ghosts," Ichigo said.

"Um… where did you send them?" Danny asked.

"To Hell," Ichigo said casually.

"You mean the place for eternal suffering? Hell?" Danny asked, his eyes widening.

"Indeed," Ichigo confirmed, snapping his fingers. A hell portal appeared, pulling one of the ghosts out.

"Skulker," Danny muttered.

"Skulker, is that your name?" Ichigo asked.

"Indeed. And you are?" Skulker questioned.

"It doesn't matter who I am," Ichigo said.

"Skulker, why did all the ghosts rush out of the Ghost Zone?"

"Pariah Dark, the King of the Ghost Zone, has awakened," Skulker explained. "He was a tyrant who ruled with a ghostly iron fist. He had access to limitless power due to the Ring of Rage and the Crown of Fire."

"Anything else I should know?" Ichigo asked.

"He plans to invade your realm with his ghost army," Skulker said.

"I see…" Ichigo muttered, sending Skulker back to Hell.

"Um… is that a good place to keep them?" Danny asked.

"It will be for now," Ichigo replied. "How did all these ghosts escape?"

"They used the Fenton Portal to escape," Danny explained.

"So, you have a portal to the Ghost Zone in your house?" Ichigo asked.

"We do," Danny replied.

"Pariah Dark will invade using your portal," Ichigo said. He walked toward the house. "Are you going to sit there?" Danny and Sam stood up.

"What are you planning to do?" Sam asked.

"Simple. Defeat the invading army before they're ready," Ichigo explained casually. Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan changed into their spiritual bodies.

"You're ghosts?" Danny questioned.

"Part soul," Ichigo clarified. "I'm part of a Japanese organization that protects the World of the Living from corrupted souls."

"I see…" Danny said. The three phased into the house. Sam looked at Danny.

"Are you planning to follow them?" Sam asked.

Danny sighed. "I'm going ghost," he said, transforming into his ghost form. He phased into the house, joining Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan as they stood in front of the portal.

"Glad to see Amity Park's Ghost Boy is willing to help out," Ichigo joked.

"Come on," Danny said. Together, they entered the portal.

Scene Change: Ghost Zone

Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan floated as if gravity didn't exist. The entire dimension around them was green, and all kinds of doors floated by. They flew deeper into the Ghost Zone.

"Um… I'm curious, who's supposed to manage this place?" Ichigo asked.

"What do you mean?" Danny asked in return.

"When people die, is this where every soul is supposed to go?"

"Now that you mention it… no," Danny admitted. "Most of the ghosts I've seen are usually vengeful."

"I believe the Ghost Zone is a form of limbo," Ichigo theorized. "A place where ghosts who haven't settled their unfinished business remain."

"But who would've placed them here?" Danny asked.

"I don't know," Ichigo said.

In the distance, they spotted a large floating castle. The nearby boulders had green skeleton ghosts, wearing armor and suits from many different time periods. Everyone landed in front of the army, which immediately drew their weapons.

Ichigo calmly walked toward the castle. The skeleton army charged at them, but Danny was about to unleash his Ghost Rays when Ichigo raised his right arm, palm facing the charging soldiers.

"Hadō #88 Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō!" Ichigo calmly cast. A gigantic blue electrical beam shot from his palm, incinerating the entire army and punching a hole through the castle. Danny's eyes widened in shock and disbelief as the dust settled to reveal burned rock all around them.

"Um… where are we going?" Danny asked, following behind Ichigo.

"To meet the 'King of the Ghost Zone,'" Ichigo replied.

"You shall not pass!" someone yelled. A figure leaped out from the large hole in the castle, landing a few feet away. The figure was a knight with long purple hair and green eyes. He wore black full-body armor with gray shoulder guards, flaming gauntlets, and flaming boots. His cape and hood were engulfed in flames, and a white skull decorated his waist.

"Fright Knight," Danny said.

Ichigo turned to Joan. "Want to take care of him?"

"Sure," Joan replied, stepping forward toward the Fright Knight.

"Be prepared to fall before my blade," the Fright Knight said, charging at them. Joan laughed, blocking his attack with her flagpole.

"Jeanne, make sure Joan wins this," Ichigo ordered.

"Very well," Jeanne replied, as a giant Alicorn with bat wings charged at Joan. Ichigo and Danny flew toward the castle, entering the throne room. Inside, they saw a giant red throne, currently occupied.

The being was a large, well-built ghost with a white face outlined in red, long green hair, and a braided green beard. He had green eyes, a black scar on his right eye, and a black eye patch over his left. Two gray horns adorned his head, the left one broken in half. Above his head, a small crown was engulfed in green flames. His armor consisted of black full-body plates with gray shoulder guards, boots, and gauntlets, spiked with green at the cuffs and knuckles. He wore a green belt with a metallic buckle and gray cloth hanging down from it, and a cape that was black on the outside and red on the inside, fastened by two green skulls.

"Are you the one who dares to attack me?" he roared, his voice echoing through the empty Ghost Zone.

"I do," Ichigo said, stepping forward. "I assume you are Pariah Dark."

Pariah Dark glared at him and slowly stood from his throne. "You invade my castle and don't even know who I am!" he bellowed. Drawing his sword, he charged. "Die!"

Danny quickly fired his Ghost Rays at Pariah, but the ghost king ignored the attacks, swinging his sword at Ichigo. Ichigo raised his right finger, effortlessly stopping the slash.

"Impossible!" Pariah yelled, continuing to attack with his sword. Ichigo casually blocked all the strikes with his hand, even yawning at one point. "RAH!" Pariah shouted, raising his left hand and firing a Ghost Ray. Ichigo swatted it away with his left hand.

"My turn," Ichigo said, delivering a punch to Pariah's gut, sending him flying. Pariah crashed into his throne.

"Grr," Pariah growled as he tried to stand. Ichigo appeared in front of him, stepping on his throat and beginning to choke him. Pariah struggled, but Ichigo summoned four red portals beside him, and Chains of Hell shot out, wrapping around his limbs.

"Tell me, why are you invading the World of the Living?" Ichigo asked. Pariah stayed silent, growling at Ichigo.

Ichigo sighed and snapped his fingers. The chains began pulling on Pariah's limbs, forcing his arms behind his head.

"Grr!" Pariah growled, unable to move.

"What are you doing?" Danny asked.

"Wait for it," Ichigo said. Suddenly, Pariah screamed in pain. "Pariah, tell us what we want to know."

"Wait… you're torturing him?!" Danny yelled.

"I am," Ichigo said, glancing back at Pariah. "Ready to talk?"

A tear formed in Pariah's remaining eye. "FINE!" he yelled.

Ichigo snapped his fingers, and the chains stopped moving, though they remained in place. He eased the pressure on Pariah's neck.

"So tell me, why did you decide to invade the World of the Living?" Ichigo asked.

"To get back my Ring of Rage," Pariah admitted.

"Who took it?" Ichigo asked.

"Some ghost with blue skin, dressed in a white outfit," Pariah described.

"Wait… I think I know who the culprit is," Danny said.

"Who?" Ichigo asked.

"His name's Vlad Masters. He's like me half-human, half-ghost," Danny said. "He showed up at my house this morning."

"I believe he stole the Ring of Rage and was attacked by Pariah, forcing him to escape through your portal," Ichigo theorized.

Jeanne and Joan returned, with Jeanne dragging the unconscious Fright Knight and Joan holding his sword.

"Figured out the situation yet?" Joan asked.

"Yep," Ichigo said. "One of Danny's enemies freed Pariah and stole one of his weapons. Now Pariah plans to attack the World of the Living to retrieve that weapon."

"I see…" Joan replied.

"What does the Ring of Rage do?" Ichigo asked.

"It gives the wearer the ability to manipulate rage and anger. The angrier the wearer gets, the more powerful they become," Pariah explained.

"What about the Crown of Fire?" Ichigo asked, taking the crown from Pariah's forehead.

"Uh…" Pariah faltered. Everyone could feel his energy waning. "The Crown of Fire grants me the power of the Phoenix," he continued.

Ichigo summoned Kokugatsu to his hand and walked over to Pariah, tapping him with the sword to perform Konsō. The kanji glowed red as the Chains of Hell dragged Pariah to Hell.

"Enjoy your time in Hell," Ichigo said.

Danny stared at the Crown of Fire in Ichigo's hand. "What are you planning to do with that?" he asked.

Ichigo crushed the Crown of Fire in his hands. A burst of fire erupted around him, and for a brief moment, Ichigo heard the cry of a bird before the flames were absorbed by Schrift T: The Taiyō. Ichigo turned to the unconscious Fright Knight.

"What about him?" Jeanne asked.

"I'll deal with him later," Ichigo replied, as the Chains of Hell dragged the Fright Knight to Hell alongside the other ghosts. Everyone exited the throne room.

"So, are we destroying this place?" Danny asked.

"I got this," Ichigo said. "Everyone, get at least 50 feet away," he instructed. They nodded in agreement.

"Jeanne, have your Noble Phantasm ready."

"Yes, Master," Jeanne responded.

"Hadō #99 Goryūtenmetsu!" Ichigo cast. The ground began to shake as reiatsu surged underground. Suddenly, the ground ruptured, and pillars of stone shot up around them. The reiatsu rose higher than the stone pillars, taking the form of five enormous black-and-red dragons. The dragons dove back into the ground, obliterating Pariah's Keep. Rocks and debris flew in all directions, but none headed toward Jeanne, Joan, or Danny. Ichigo calmly floated to them.

"What about the other ghosts?" Danny asked.

Ichigo snapped his fingers. The Ghost Zone rumbled as the Gates of Hell appeared in their demonic glory. The gates opened, and Danny saw all the ghosts bound individually by the Chains of Hell.

"It's like Walker's prison, but worse," Danny thought.

"It's time for all of you to enter the Cycle of Reincarnation," Ichigo announced.

"No!" the ghosts screamed.

"The Cycle of Reincarnation?" Danny asked.

"It's where the soul is wiped clean of its memories and sent back to the World of the Living as a baby," Ichigo explained.

"What if we don't want to?" one of the ghosts asked.

"Will you peacefully stay in the Ghost Zone, or will you continue to attack the World of the Living? Many of you have been recurring guests in Amity Park," Ichigo said. No one could respond. "I take your silence as your answer," Ichigo said, as Zangetsu, Kyōka, Shirayuki, Suzumebachi, Katen, and Kyōkotsu appeared with their blades ready.

"It's time for you to finally rest and move on," Ichigo said, summoning Kokugatsu. They performed Konsō on the various ghosts. Many souls disappeared in a burst of rainbow sparkles, while a few were dragged back into Hell. Moments later, they were alone again. Zangetsu, Kyōka, Shirayuki, Suzumebachi, Katen, and Kyōkotsu returned to Ichigo's mindscape.

"So, all the ghosts in the Ghost Zone are gone?" Danny asked.

Ichigo closed his eyes, allowing his senses to extend across the Ghost Zone. When he opened them again, he said, "Not all of them. Some are near the very end of the zone, observing everything that's happening, purposely choosing to ignore it."

Ichigo, Jeanne, Joan, and Danny flew off toward the Fenton Portal.

Scene Change: Fenton Lab

The lab was crowded with people.

"Mom, you can't close the portal yet!" a girl said. She had aqua blue eyes and hip-length auburn hair, wearing a black long-sleeve V-neck shirt, aqua pants, and black flats. A matching aqua headband sat on her head.

"Jazz, we need to close the portal so no more ghosts escape," a woman replied. She wore a blue rubber jumpsuit, long black gloves, and boots. Her face was obscured by the jumpsuit's hoodie and black lab goggles with red lenses.

"Honey, your mother is right," a large, bulky man added. He had black hair with some white at the back, blue eyes, and wore an orange jumpsuit with black gloves and boots.

"But Mr. and Mrs. Fenton…" Sam began to protest. Suddenly, Ichigo, Jeanne, Joan, and Danny flew out of the Ghost Portal.

"Ghosts!" Mrs. Fenton shouted. Both Mr. and Mrs. Fenton raised their guns and began firing. Ichigo calmly blocked all their shots with his hand.

"I assume these are your parents?" Ichigo asked, unfazed.

"Parents?" Mr. and Mrs. Fenton echoed, stopping their attack. The others who were aware of Danny's secret looked at Ichigo in confusion.

"You should show them the truth… it'll be easier this way," Ichigo suggested. Danny sighed and transformed back into his human form.

"D-Danny?" Mr. Fenton asked, staring at his son.

"You're the Ghost Boy?" Mrs. Fenton gasped.

"I am," Danny replied.

"This can't be! My son is a ghost!" Mr. Fenton yelled, his mind racing. Mrs. Fenton's eyes widened as she noticed everyone else wasn't shocked by the revelation.

"All of you knew?" she asked.

"Yes, Mom," Jazz said.

"Yes, Mrs. Fenton," Sam added.

"Why… why didn't you tell us?" Mrs. Fenton asked, her voice trembling.

"You and Dad kept saying you'd perform experiments on me or even kill me. I thought it would be safer this way," Danny admitted.

"Oh, Danny…" Mrs. Fenton said, her voice was soft as she stepped forward to hug him. Jazz and Mr. Fenton joined in the embrace. After a few moments, they pulled back.

"So, who are you?" Mr. Fenton asked.

"My name is Ichigo, and this is Jeanne and Joan. We're part of a Japanese organization that protects the World of the Living from corrupted souls," Ichigo explained. He and the others transformed back into their human forms.

"Now you can close the Ghost Portal," Sam said. Mr. Fenton pressed a button, and a metal door sealed the portal.

"Let's talk about this upstairs," Danny suggested.

With that, everyone headed upstairs.

"Looks like we found the other source of reiatsu," Ichigo noted.

"We'll keep an eye out," Jeanne replied. They ascended the stairs and noticed someone sitting in the living room.

He was an older man with white hair tied in a ponytail and a matching goatee, though his eyebrows were black. His midnight blue eyes stood out against his features. He was dressed in a black suit with a red handkerchief in his left breast pocket and a matching red bolo tie.

"Vlad," Danny said, his tone laced with annoyance—something both Mr. and Mrs. Fenton immediately noticed.

"Hello, Daniel," Vlad replied, showing no signs of acknowledging Danny's frustration. Mrs. Fenton walked upstairs.

"Where are you going, Maddie?" Vlad asked.

"I'm just using the restroom, Vlad," she replied.

"Oh, okay," Vlad said, unbothered.

"So, who are the new people, friends of yours, Jazz?" Vlad asked.

"The name is Ichigo, and this is Joan and Jeanne," Ichigo introduced himself, extending a hand to Vlad. Vlad accepted the handshake.

"Nice to meet you," Vlad said.

"I've heard so much about you from Mr. Pariah," Ichigo remarked. Vlad's eyes widened in fear. He tried to break free from Ichigo's grip but was shocked to find that he couldn't.

Just then, Maddie returned with a device in hand.

"Warning, detecting five ghosts in range," the device announced.

"Vlad… you're a ghost?" Maddie concluded.

"Preposterous. I'm not a ghost," Vlad retorted.

"Give it up, Plasmius," Danny said, transforming in front of his parents.

"Dammit. To think you'd tell your family our secrets," Vlad muttered, transforming into his ghost form. He tried to phase his arm out of Ichigo's grip.

"You forgot something…" Ichigo said as Vlad continued to struggle. "How many ghosts did the detector say?"

Vlad paused, suddenly recalling the device's warning. "You're a ghost?" Ichigo smiled.

"A soul," Ichigo said, locking eyes with Vlad. While Vlad was distracted, Maddie stealthily approached from behind and attached a thick metallic silver belt to his waist. Everyone heard a loud clink as the belt clicked shut. Sparks of green electricity crackled from it before Vlad screamed in pain.

"AHAHAHAHAH!" he cried out. Ichigo calmly turned to Maddie, who was still holding onto Vlad's hand.

"I think that proves Danny's point," Ichigo said.

Maddie nodded and unlocked the belt, releasing Vlad, whose body was still jittering from the shock.

"Thank y—" Vlad began to speak, but he was cut off by a slap from Maddie.

"Vlad, what happened?" Mr. Fenton asked, his voice filled with concern.

Vlad growled at Mr. Fenton. "This all started back in college when you, Jack, gave me ecto-acne," he snarled. He continued to explain how the ecto-acne ruined his life and led to the creation of Plasmius. After a few minutes of Vlad recounting his backstory, Ichigo stepped forward and grabbed him, forcing him to look him in the eye.

"Where is the Ring of Rage?"

"Why?" Vlad questioned. "Are you trying to get both artifacts for limitless power?"

"Please, I already have that," Ichigo said. "I'm trying to prevent another Pariah Dark from appearing."

"I'll never tell you!" Vlad shouted defiantly.

"Legilimens," Ichigo mentally cast, staring into Vlad's eyes. He delved into Vlad's mind, quickly learning the truth about the Ring of Rage. Ichigo broke contact and released Vlad from his mental grasp.

"I found out what Vlad did with the ring," Ichigo said.

"Where is it?" Danny asked eagerly.

"Do you know where Valerie Gray's house is?" Ichigo asked.

"He placed it in her house?" Danny asked in disbelief.

"Worse. He handed the Ring of Rage and Ghost Hunting equipment to her," Ichigo explained.

"Dang it," Danny muttered.

"Anyone know where Valerie Gray lives?" Ichigo asked.

"I don't," Danny admitted.

"Are you planning to confront her?" Sam asked.

"I am. Hopefully, it will be peaceful," Ichigo said.

"I believe she lives in the south part of the city," Sam said.

"Thank you," Ichigo said, turning to Jack and Maddie. "I believe you two should shut down your portal."

"Huh?" they both replied.

"The presence of the portal acts like a magnet, attracting ghosts here," Ichigo explained.

"Where's your proof?" Maddie asked, skeptical.

"When did this town start having its ghost problem?" Ichigo asked, raising an eyebrow. Their eyes widened.

"Right when the Fenton Portal connected with the Ghost Zone," Jack said, realization dawning on him.

"Exactly. The Fenton Portal created a stable link between the World of the Living and the Ghost Zone," Ichigo stated.

"But we have protections against ghosts leaving the Fenton Portal," Jack argued.

"Not that it worked," Danny chimed in.

"Even if you have protections, stronger ghosts could break through," Ichigo said, glancing at Vlad. "Other ghosts could find weak points between the dimensions and slip through."

"I see…" Jack muttered.

"It also makes the residents of Amity Park more susceptible to possession by the ghosts," Ichigo added.

"But I've never had any real issues with possession," Danny said.

"In Japan, a soul can only be seen or possessed by those who are spiritually aware. Things like this shouldn't change based on countries," Ichigo began. Jack and Maddie nodded in agreement with Ichigo's logic. "I believe the presence of a stable connection to the Fenton Portal and constant interaction with ghosts has made many citizens of Amity Park spiritually aware," Ichigo theorized.

"So how can we fix this?" Jack asked.

"The first step is to close the connection between us and the Ghost Zone," Ichigo said.

"Very well," Maddie said.

"The other thing is to reduce interactions with ghosts," Ichigo added.

"So I just need to stop using my ghost powers?" Danny asked.

"Unless it's an emergency," Ichigo said.

"Remember, Danny, emergencies," Sam said, giving him a pointed look.

"Um… yes, emergencies," Danny replied.

"Shouldn't we deal with the ghosts that escaped from the Ghost Zone?" Jack asked.

"Oh, all of them are taken care of," Ichigo said casually.

"Where?" Maddie asked, confused.

"I forced them to move on," Ichigo replied.

"Move on?" both Maddie and Jack questioned.

"Move on. Enter the Reincarnation Cycle. Go to Heaven," Ichigo explained.

"Oh, okay then," Jack said. They walked over to their respective computers and began powering them down. A few minutes later, the Fenton Portal ceased functioning.

"So, what are we going to do with Vlad?" Jack asked.

"Dad, where's the Fenton Ghost Catcher?" Danny asked.

"Why do you want that?" Jack replied. Maddie's eyes widened.

"He wants to use the Fenton Ghost Catcher to separate Vlad's human side from his ghost side," Maddie explained.

"Great idea," Jack said, heading toward the weapon vault. A few minutes later, Jack returned with a giant contraption that resembled a large net. He placed it down on the ground. Danny lifted Vlad and threw him into the Fenton Ghost Catcher. Vlad entered the device from one end, and two versions of him emerged from the other side, both bound by the Chains of Hell.

"You separated us," both Vlad Masters and Vlad Plasmius said.

"Plasmius, it's time for you to be judged," Ichigo declared, summoning Kokugatsu.

"No! NO!" Plasmius screamed in fear. He turned to Vlad Masters. "Help me, my human half!" To Plasmius's shock, his human side turned away.

"Goodbye, Vlad Plasmius," Vlad Masters said.

Ichigo tapped Kokugatsu on Plasmius's forehead. The kanji glowed red as the Chains of Hell tightened around him. Plasmius's eyes widened as Hellfire exploded around him.

"GAHAHGAH!" he screamed in agony as the Hellfire consumed him, sending his soul to Hell.

"What should we do with him?" Danny asked.

"If you want," Ichigo began, "I can cast a few spells to force him to speak the truth."

"Sure," Maddie agreed. "I want to know how much trouble he caused in our town."

Ichigo summoned his wand and silently cast three compulsion charms: one to keep him talking, another to make him speak the truth, and a third to prevent him from controlling his words.

"He's good to go," Ichigo said. The interrogation began, and Vlad Masters was forced to reveal all his dark secrets. After ten long minutes, the questioning ended.

"So, what should we do with this selfish man?" Danny asked with disgust.

"Unfortunately, we don't have enough evidence for the authorities to arrest him," Sam said.

Jack silently walked up to Vlad Masters, grabbed him, and carried him upstairs. Everyone followed. Maddie quickly realized what Jack was planning. She snuck ahead and opened the door for him.

"Thank you, honey," Jack said, tossing Vlad Masters into the nearby trash can. "Vlad Masters!" Jack yelled, his voice echoing through the neighborhood. "As of this moment, you are no longer welcome here. Our friendship with you is over!" With that, Jack slammed the door shut. Everyone sat down in the living room.

"What should we do now? We've spent decades on our research," Maddie asked, removing her hoodie and goggles.

"Maybe use your knowledge to create new inventions to help the world," Ichigo suggested.

"But who would want to invest in Fenton Works?" Jack replied.

Ichigo pulled out his checkbook and signed a check.

"This should help you get started," Ichigo said, handing them the check. They all stared at it.

"You're giving us a million dollars?" the Fenton family asked in disbelief.

"Investing a million dollars into Fenton Works," Ichigo clarified.

"Thank you, young man!" Jack exclaimed as he hugged Ichigo. Ichigo smiled and hugged him back.

"Ow!" Jack yelled as he let go of Ichigo. Ichigo handed them his phone number.

"Call me if you need any help," Ichigo said.

With that, Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan walked out of the Fenton home and into their car.

"So, how are you going to track the Ring of Rage?" Jeanne asked as Ichigo started driving.

"I managed to trace the reiatsu signature of the Ring of Rage," Ichigo said.

"How?" Joan asked.

"The Ring of Rage has a unique reiatsu signature that I noticed while looking through Vlad's memories," Ichigo explained.

"So, we're following the trail Vlad unknowingly left behind?" Jeanne concluded.

"Exactly," Ichigo said.

They soon arrived at the end of their trail: an apartment complex. Ichigo, Jeanne, and Joan entered without any issues.

"So, how are you going to do this?" Jeanne asked.

"I'll try using a compulsion charm to get her to give me the ring," Ichigo explained.

"Wouldn't the Ring of Rage make it harder for you to do that?" Joan asked.

"Normally, yes, but I can counter it," Ichigo said. He cast an illusion on himself, making him appear like Vlad Masters. Ichigo knocked on the door.

"Coming!" a voice called from inside. The door opened, and Ichigo saw the current wearer of the Ring of Rage.

She was a fourteen-year-old African American girl with long, curly hair and dark green eyes. She wore a yellow sleeveless shirt, an orange skirt, and white tennis shoes.

"Mister Masters. What can I do for you, sir?" she asked.

"Hello, Miss Gray," Ichigo said. "I need you to return the ring." He began casting a compulsion spell on her.

"Why? You just gave it to me," she replied.

"Because I discovered that a powerful ghost has been spying on us since I gave you the ring," Ichigo explained.

"How? My equipment didn't detect anyone," she said.

"This ghost is intelligent and old. It learned how to adapt to Ghost Hunters. It possessed them to study their equipment, allowing it to avoid being detected," Ichigo said with a sigh.

"I see," Valerie said, pulling off the ring and handing it to Ichigo.

"I'm sorry, Miss Gray. While I know you're capable of protecting the ring from normal ghosts, this one isn't normal."

"I understand, Mister Masters," she replied. "Anything else I can do for you?"

"Not at this time, Miss Gray."

"Okay then… Have a good evening, Mister Masters."

"The same to you, dear," Ichigo said as she closed the door. He walked back to the car and returned to his normal appearance.

"So, what are you going to do with the Ring of Rage?" Jeanne asked.

Ichigo held the ring in his hand and crushed it. As he did, he felt the energy from the Ring of Rage merge with the Sin of Wrath.

Ichigo slowly drove out of Amity Park. They could see the sun beginning to set as he opened a Garganta and drove through.
