Chapter 101:

Opening Scene: Combat Classroom

It had been over a month since Ichigo joined Beacon Academy. Despite his efforts, he hadn't made any progress in uncovering clues about the Brother Gods. His investigations led him to people researching Grimms, but every Grimm sample disintegrated into reishi upon removal. Most people accepted Grimms as a force of nature, something to fight against with innovation rather than understanding their origin. The only answer Ichigo found about the Grimms was that they supposedly were the creation of the God of Darkness.

Ichigo sat on the bleachers in the Combat Classroom, Yang to his left and Pyrrha to his right. They were watching Jaune duel Cardin Winchester. Most students cringed as the fight unfolded—it was clear Jaune was hopelessly outmatched.

Jaune swung his sword downward, only for Cardin to block with his mace. The taller, stronger Cardin bore down, forcing Jaune to his knees.

"This is the part where you lose," Cardin taunted.

"Over my dead—" Jaune began, only to be cut off as Cardin kneed him in the chest. The blow knocked the sword from Jaune's grip and sent him sprawling to the ground.

Towering over him, Cardin raised his mace to deliver the final blow.

"That's enough," Professor Goodwitch intervened sharply. Cardin hesitated, lowering his weapon as the professor walked to address the students.

"As you can see, Mr. Arc's aura has reached critical levels. In a tournament, this would render him unfit for combat," she said, casting a pointed glance at Jaune, still lying on the ground. "Mr. Arc, it's been a month. Please remember to use your scroll to monitor your aura during combat."

Ichigo frowned at the remark, "In real combat, you wouldn't have time to check a scroll. Why aren't students taught to sense their reiatsu instead?"

Professor Goodwitch continued, "Remember, the Vytal Festival is only a few months away. Soon, students from other kingdoms will arrive in Vale. Those of you competing in the tournament will represent our kingdom."

Ichigo glanced at Yang and Ruby, who were practically vibrating with excitement.

The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Some students headed for the locker rooms to change out of their combat uniforms. Pyrrha sighed as Jaune staggered to his feet and limped toward the men's locker room.

"Jaune still hasn't asked for your help?" Ichigo asked Pyrrha.

"No," Pyrrha replied. She and Ichigo became gym buddies, often training together in the mornings. She appreciated how he treated her like a normal person, not the 'Invincible Girl'. "I've offered to help, but he keeps turning me down."

Ichigo nodded. "He's probably afraid it'll change how you see him."

"Maybe… but still." Pyrrha looked thoughtful. "Will you come with me to the nurse's office? I want to check on him."

"Sure," Ichigo agreed.

They parted ways to change. After a quick shower, Ichigo donned his Beacon uniform and waited outside the locker rooms. Lie Ren soon joined him, standing silently as they waited for the rest of their team.

"Thanks for waiting!" Ruby called, running up with Weiss and Yang.

"No problem," Ichigo replied.

"Blake's still in the shower," Yang explained.

It wasn't long before Blake and Nora joined them.

"Ready for dinner?" Yang asked.

"Pyrrha asked me to go to the nurse's office with her first," Ichigo said.

"You've been spending a lot of time with Pyrrha lately," Weiss remarked.

"We work out together in the mornings," Ichigo replied.

"I go to the gym too," Yang said with a grin.

"Before dinner, on days without combat class," Ichigo clarified.

"Not everyone's a gym rat like you, Mr. Muscles," Yang teased.

"Thanks for waiting, Ichigo." Pyrrha emerged from the locker room, looking relieved.

"Ren, food!" Nora groaned, leaning dramatically against him.

Ren sighed, glancing at Ichigo and Pyrrha. "We'll go ahead with Team RWBY," he said, letting Nora drag him toward the cafeteria.

Ichigo and Pyrrha lingered, waiting for Jaune. They watched as other students passed, including Team CRDL. Eventually, Jaune shuffled out of the locker room, wincing with every step.

"Are you okay, Jaune?" Pyrrha asked gently.

"Yeah, just a bruise," Jaune replied, though his pained expression betrayed him.

"He's lying," Ichigo and Pyrrha both thought.

They walked to the cafeteria together.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Pyrrha pressed.

"It's nothing. Just a bad day," Jaune insisted.

"It's not 'just a bad day,' Jaune," Pyrrha said, her voice firm. "You've been struggling since the first day. You're at the bottom of the first-year rankings."

"Thanks for the concern, but I'm working on it," Jaune replied, avoiding their eyes.

The conversation paused as they reached the cafeteria. After grabbing food, they joined their teams at a table. Nora launched into an exaggerated story, which Ren calmly corrected, much to her annoyance.

Ichigo's attention shifted when he heard a girl cry out. He turned to see Cardin yanking roughly on a girl's rabbit ears while his team laughed. The girl whimpered in pain, her eyes squeezed shut.

Ichigo placed his utensils down and stood.

"Cardin," he called, his voice cold. "You ready for another beatdown?"

Cardin froze, then turned to see Ichigo glaring at him. Ichigo had caught Cardin bullying other Faunus before. Ichigo treated Cardin the same way he treated other bullies in Karakura High School, by beating them into a pulp.

"Tch," Cardin sneered, letting go of the girl. He motioned for his team to leave, but Ichigo grabbed his shoulder and forced him to face the girl.

"You're not going anywhere until you apologize," Ichigo said.

"V-Velvet Scarlatina," the girl stammered.

"Apologize to Velvet," Ichigo ordered.

"But she's a beast—" Cardin began, only to be cut off as Ichigo's fist collided with his face, knocking him to the ground.

Russel, Sky, and Dove charged, but Ichigo dropped Russel with a single punch. Russel stumbled into Cardin, sending both sprawling. Sky and Dove hesitated before retreating, dragging their teammates away.

Velvet tugged shyly at Ichigo's sleeve. He glanced at Velvet. "Th-thank you, sir," she said timidly.

"No problem," Ichigo replied with a soft smile. "I hate those who bully others simply because they're different," he added, walking back to his table. He noticed Weiss and Blake staring at him.

"You don't have issues with Faunus?" Blake asked, her tone carrying a hint of curiosity. Ichigo noticed Weiss paying close attention.

"Why should I?" Ichigo replied calmly. "Everyone, human or Faunus, has strengths and weaknesses that make them unique."

"Like what?" Weiss asked, crossing her arms.

"Faunus have enhanced senses," Ichigo began, "but there are weapons specifically designed to counteract those advantages."

Blake gave a small nod, a faint approval visible in her expression. The teams finished their dinner and returned to their rooms.

Next Morning: Remnant History Class

Ichigo and his classmates sat in the lecture hall, watching Dr. Bartholomew Oobleck zip around the room, his rapid movements were a blur to a majority of the students as he sipped coffee mid-sentence.

"Before the Faunus Civil Rights Revolution—more popularly known as the Faunus War," Dr. Oobleck began, his voice brisk and full of energy, "humankind was quite adamant about centralizing the Faunus population in Menagerie." He gestured at the map of Remnant, tapping an island at the bottom with his ruler. "While this may seem like ancient history, it's crucial to understand the ripple effects of these relatively recent events! Why, the repercussions..."

The class swiveled their heads back and forth, trying to keep up with Oobleck's frenetic movements. Most, that is, except Cardin, Russel, and Ichigo. Cardin and Russel were too disinterested to try, while Ichigo's perceptiveness meant he didn't need to track the professor so closely.

"Now! Have any of you ever been subjugated or discriminated against because of your Faunus heritage?" Oobleck asked. Several Faunus students hesitated, then slowly raised their hands. Velvet hesitantly joined in, her hand trembling slightly. Ichigo noticed Blake's hand start to rise before she withdrew it. The movement was subtle, but Ichigo caught it.

"Dreadful! Simply dreadful!" Oobleck exclaimed. "This is precisely the kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" He took a long sip of his coffee. "Consider the White Fang!"

Blake stiffened at the mention of the group, her hands tightening into fists under her desk.

"So she does have ties to the White Fang," Ichigo thought. He had stumbled upon information about the group while researching Remnant's political landscape. Initially formed as a peaceful activist organization, the White Fang turned to violence after Ghira Belladonna's assassination, which they blamed on humans. Under Sienna Khan's leadership, the group became a militant force. Chishiki compared photos of Ghira Belladonna and Blake and concluded that Blake was his daughter.

"Now," Oobleck continued, "can anyone tell me the turning point in the third year of the war?"

Weiss raised her hand confidently. "The battle at Fort Castle," she answered.

"Precisely!" Oobleck praised, darting back to the map and tapping Fort Castle's location. "And what advantage did the Faunus have over General Lagune's forces?"

At the back, Cardin aimed a folded paper football at Jaune, who was dozing off. With a flick, he sent it flying, but Ichigo's hand shot up, catching it midair before it hit Jaune.

Cardin's jaw dropped, but before he could react, Oobleck appeared beside Ichigo.

"Mr. Kurosaki! Finally contributing, are we? So, what's the answer?" Oobleck asked, his voice rapid-fire.

"While I didn't hit Jaune, it did get Ichigo in trouble." Cardin thought while smirking.

Ichigo ignored the bait. "General Lagune underestimated the Faunus. He planned a night attack, assuming darkness would provide cover. However, the Faunus have near-perfect night vision. They spotted Lagune's forces and captured them before the assault even began."

"Excellent! Simply excellent!" Oobleck beamed. "This is the level of dedication and understanding a true Huntsman must display!"

The professor suddenly smacked Jaune on the head with his ruler, waking him with a yelp.

"Mr. Arc, anything to add?" Oobleck asked, his tone pointed.

"Uh… good job, Ichigo?" Jaune mumbled, rubbing his head.

Pyrrha sighed as the class chuckled, Cardin's laughter loudest of all.

"Oh! And Mr. Winchester…" Oobleck said, taking the paper football from Ichigo. With an expert flick, he launched it at Cardin, hitting him squarely between the eyes.

"Gah!" Cardin yelped, glaring as the class burst into laughter.

"Mr. Winchester," Oobleck said sharply, "if you wish to play with paper footballs, do so on your own time—not at the expense of your fellow students."

"Why does it even matter?" Cardin muttered. "Everyone knows it's easier to train an animal than a soldier."

Oobleck's expression darkened, and he appeared in front of Cardin in a flash.

"Because, Mr. Winchester, those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it!" he thundered. "Since you seem so disinterested, you can review these lessons after class!"

The room erupted in laughter at Cardin's expense.

"You shouldn't be laughing either, Mr. Arc," Oobleck added. "You'll be joining him."

"What?" Jaune groaned as the bell rang. The students packed their belongings and filed out, leaving Cardin and Jaune behind.

Outside, Ruby frowned. "I didn't realize how much Jaune was struggling."

"You dolt, you're struggling too," Weiss retorted.

"In Ruby's defense, we study every day," Blake said. "We work through readings, homework, and review sessions."

"You all study as a team?" Pyrrha asked, intrigued.

"Of course," Ichigo replied. "Even Yang joins in."

"Why call me out?" Yang grumbled, embarrassed.

Pyrrha hesitated. "I… I want to try talking to him alone."

"Alone?" Ichigo asked, raising a brow.

"Yes, alone," she replied.

"Sounds like Dr. Oobleck is done with them," Ichigo said. They watched as Jaune and Cardin stepped out. Cardin tried to shove Jaune down, but Pyrrha quickly pulled him to the side, while Ichigo tripped Cardin, causing him to fall. Cardin picked himself up and angrily walked away.

"We should break his legs," Nora said.

"For once, Nora, I agree," Pyrrha replied.

"We're going to head to the locker room," Ruby said.

"We'll leave you to talk," Ren added as he and Nora followed Team RWBY.

"Follow me," Pyrrha said as she pulled Jaune's hand. They arrived on the rooftop of the building.

"Pyrrha, I know I'm going through a hard time right now, but I'm not that depressed," Jaune said, looking over the edge of the roof. "I can always be a farmer or something..." Pyrrha's eyes widened as she realized the assumption Jaune made.

"N-n-no!" she cried out, pulling him away from the edge. "That's not why I brought you up here!" She let go of Jaune's hand and looked at him. "Jaune, I know you're having a tough time in class, and you're still not the strongest fighter, so... I want to help you!"

"Wh-what?" Jaune questioned.

"We can train up here after class, where no one can bother us!" Pyrrha said.

"You think I need help?" Jaune asked.

"N-no! That's not what I meant," Pyrrha replied.

"But you just said it," Jaune said. Pyrrha sighed.

"Jaune, everybody needs a little push from time to time. It doesn't make you any different from the rest of us. You made it to Beacon! That speaks volumes of what you're capable of!"

"You're wrong." Jaune turned away from Pyrrha. "I-I don't belong here."

"That's a terrible thing to say! Of course, you do!" Pyrrha replied.

"No, I don't!" Jaune yelled. Pyrrha stepped back. He sighed. "I wasn't really accepted into Beacon..."

"Wh-what do you mean?" Pyrrha asked.

"I mean... I didn't go to combat school; I didn't pass any tests. I didn't earn my spot at this academy!" Jaune looked at Pyrrha. "I lied! I got my hands on some fake transcripts, and I lied!"

"What? But... why?" she asked.

"Because everyone in my family became heroes," Jaune said. "Almost everyone in my family is Huntsmen and Huntresses. I wanted to be one, too. I was just never good enough."

"Then let me help you!" Pyrrha said, placing a gentle hand on Jaune's shoulder. Jaune jerked his shoulder, throwing Pyrrha's hand off.

"I don't want help! I don't want to be the damsel in distress! I want to be the hero!"

"Jaune, I-" Pyrrha tried to say.

"I'm tired of being the lovable idiot, stuck in the tree while his friends fight for their lives! Don't you understand? If I can't do this on my own... then what good am I?" Jaune replied.

"Who said you need to be alone?" a voice said. From the edge of the roof, Ichigo floated up casually. He stepped forward, onto the roof.

"I-Ichigo. How much did you hear?" Jaune asked.

"A lot," Ichigo said. "Why do you think teachers exist? Schools?" Ichigo asked, looking at Jaune. "It's because there are those who need to learn from others. Teachers teach the future generation what they've learned."

"Ichigo's right," Pyrrha said. "My mother, a seasoned Huntress, trained me at a young age."

"I, on the other hand, learned how to fight to survive the wilderness. I watched other Huntsmen and Huntresses and imitated what they did. Some saw me and helped me. Others tried to scare me away, not wanting me to watch how they fight," Ichigo said.

"Can... both of you just... leave me alone?" Jaune asked.

"If that's what you think is best..." Pyrrha said as she and Ichigo left the roof, leaving Jaune alone.

Scene Change: Team CRDL's Room

"Those stupid bitches!" Cardin yelled as he punched a raised mattress. Behind it were Russel, Sky, and Dove. "And that fucker!" Cardin yelled again, punching the mattress. The force of the punch knocked them all off balance, causing them to fall. Cardin sat down in his chair while the rest of Team CRDL stood back up and put the mattress back on their bed.

"Any ideas on how to get back at them?"

"We have a field trip to the Forever Forest tomorrow morning," Sky said. "Maybe we do something then?"

"That might work," Cardin said. "But we need a way to separate them from their teammates."

"Professor Goodwitch said she wouldn't be able to escort us through the Forever Forest, so Professor Harold Mulberry will be escorting us," Sky said.

"That old man always follows a set of instructions for everything he does," Russel said.

"I could hack his scroll to change his instructions and scramble the teams," Sky suggested.

"Then let's do this," Cardin said. "Sky and Russel, both of you change the old man's instructions."

"Fine," Sky and Russel said in unison.

He turned to Dove. "And you get us a box of Rapier Wasps."

"Okay," Dove replied. They turned to leave when suddenly Cardin called out to Sky.

"Sky looks like that red-haired bitch wanted a private word with that loser. See if you can find out what they talked about," Cardin said.

"Let me see what I can find," Sky replied as they left the room.

"Soon, you bastards," Cardin thought.

Time Skip: Next Morning

A large group of students walked through a forest with red-leafed trees. The group was mostly first-year students, with a few second-year students. All of them carried jars. Leading the group was a short older man with rich brown skin and a bushy beard, wearing silver armor with a mace hanging at his side. The man stopped and turned to face the students.

"All right, all of you," the man said. "I am Professor Harold Mulberry." He pulled out his scroll. "Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the Forever Red Trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so." Professor Mulberry grabbed one of the jars from a nearby student. "On your scrolls are images of the Forever Red Trees, and your job is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. Do not collect sap from trees that don't match the images of the Forever Red Trees." The students nodded. "Also, this forest is full of Grimm creatures, so you will be partnered with another student," Professor Mulberry added.

"Professor Mulberry, why are you selecting the partners when we already have one?" Weiss asked.

"There may be times when you don't get to choose your partner," Professor Mulberry replied as he began reading off names and pointing to certain parts of the forest. Notably, Jaune was paired with Cardin. Russel, Dove, and Sky were paired with other students. All of them were assigned the same general area. Ichigo was paired with Velvet. Ruby was paired with Nora. Pyrrha was paired with Blake. Ren was paired with Yang. Weiss was paired with a girl named Coco Adel, who was Velvet's teammate.

Scene Change: With Ichigo and Velvet

Ichigo and Velvet were walking through the forest.

"Do you see any of the Forever Red Trees?" Ichigo asked, storing their jars in a backpack. He had Kokugatsu at his side.

"I don't," Velvet replied, carrying a camera.

"Velvet, if you don't mind me asking," Ichigo began, "Is your weapon the camera?"

"It is," Velvet answered. "It's part of my Semblance." They soon found a tree with much darker leaves compared to the other trees. "There it is," Velvet said as they moved toward the tree. Ichigo used Kokugatsu to burrow a hole into the tree and insert the spile. Slowly, red sap began to trickle out of the tree. Velvet grabbed the jar from Ichigo's backpack and placed it under the spile to collect the drops.

"So, you're a second year," Ichigo asked.

"I am," Velvet replied as she held the jar.

"Why didn't you attack Cardin when he and his team attacked you?" Ichigo asked.

"I didn't want to attack them. It might be used as more fuel to antagonize Faunus," she admitted.

"That makes sense," Ichigo said. They continued talking for a few more minutes.

"I think we need to move to another tree," Velvet said as she noticed no more sap was coming from their tree. By now, the jar was three-quarters full.

"Okay," Ichigo said as he pulled the spile out of the tree. Meanwhile, Velvet closed the jar and placed it back in Ichigo's backpack. They continued walking down the path. They encountered a few other students collecting sap from their own Forever Red Trees. Eventually, they found an unclaimed tree and began to collect its sap. As they waited, Ichigo sensed someone with gradually declining reiatsu. Ichigo stood up.

"Is something wrong?" Velvet asked.

"I need to check something out," Ichigo said as he shunpō'ed away.

"Someone is injured and dying," Ichigo concluded, following the declining reiatsu. He arrived in front of a collapsed cavern. Ichigo used Schrift E: The Earth to turn all the rocks into sand and shunpō'ed down the cavern. "With such a small space, Kokugatsu is useless," Ichigo thought, summoning a pair of pistols. They were similar to the ones he saw Akasha use—white semi-automatic magnum pistols with a length of 390mm. The Quincy cross was etched on the sides. It didn't take long before he encountered a new Grimm, one he hadn't seen before. It resembled a spider but was the size of a small elephant, with a jet-black exoskeleton and several large, white, bonelike plates on top of its body. It had eight red eyes, all staring at Ichigo. The Spider Grimm leaped toward him, its mandibles aimed at him. Ichigo pointed his guns at the incoming Grimm and fired regular reiatsu bullets. The bullets pierced through its eyes and, with a simple thought, exploded inside it.

A few minutes later, Ichigo arrived at the source of the faint reiatsu—a person lying on the ground. In front of her was another Spider Grimm, much larger than the others. Ichigo fired his reiatsu bullets at it, but to his surprise, the Spider Grimm dodged, without even seeing Ichigo attack it. The Grimm quickly turned toward him and hissed loudly before spitting a black sludge-like substance at him. Ichigo dodged, but the sludge landed on nearby rocks, burning them upon contact. Ichigo quickly fired more reiatsu bullets at the Spider Grimm, eventually killing it.

He walked over to the person. She was wrapped in an aged, torn white cloak. Ichigo carefully flipped her over and found it was an older woman with a fair complexion and gradient black-into-red hair. She wore a one-piece red dress with white frills under the skirt and exposed shoulders, separate black sleeves with red and black bracers, and a separate black skirt covering most of the red one underneath. Her cloak had a red inner liner, secured with black leather straps and leaf-shaped pins. She wore black high-heeled combat boots with red highlights under grey leggings. Ichigo noticed signs of starvation and old scars on her body.

"Isn't this Summer Rose?" Ichigo thought as he read an article about her from Chishiki.

"It is," Chishiki confirmed.

"Summer. Summer Rose," Ichigo called as he began using healing kidō on her. She stirred as he called her name and opened her eyes, revealing a familiar set of silver eyes.

"W-who are you?" she asked, trying to stand.

"Let me finish healing you," Ichigo said gently, placing his hand on her shoulder. Summer winced but remained lying down as Ichigo finished healing her.

"This should be enough to get you back to Beacon," Ichigo said.

"B-Beacon? No, I was in Vacuo," Summer replied.

"I don't know where you were, but outside is the Forever Fall Forest," Ichigo said as he gently helped her stand.

"W-what did you do?" she asked, feeling her Aura restored, something she hadn't experienced in years.

"I refilled your Aura levels and healed the minor injuries," he replied.

"Thank you," she said.

"Don't thank me yet," Ichigo said. "I need to get you back to your girls."

"Girls… You know Ruby?" Summer asked. Ichigo smirked and took a knee.

"I need you to climb on my back," Ichigo said, avoiding her question. She placed her hands on his shoulders as she stood behind him. Ichigo reached back, grabbing Summer's leg. As he stood up, he pulled her up and close to his body.

"Do you need me to move?" Summer asked.

"No need," Ichigo replied. "Just don't wrap your arms too tightly around my neck."

"Okay," she said as Ichigo used a weak Shunpō to begin moving.

"Are you okay?" Ichigo asked.

"I am. You can go faster," Summer replied.

Ichigo began to increase the power of his Shunpō when suddenly the ground rumbled. A gigantic centipede shot out of the ground. Its long, black segmented body had pairs of clawed legs and was covered by a protective shell. Ichigo could see multiple mandibles in its jaws. As it rose, he noticed a large green sack on its underbelly.

"What's a Cenitaur doing here?" Summer identified. "We need to kill it before it creates the Centinels."

"On it," Ichigo said as he held Summer tightly with his left hand while summoning his pistol with his right. He immediately began firing reiatsu bullets at the Cenitaur. The creature twisted its body, causing the bullets to hit its shell.

"This is an older Grimm," she realized upon seeing the countless scuff marks along its body. The Cenitaur spat green acid at them. Ichigo jumped back and carefully landed. "Kid, let go of me."

"No," Ichigo said as he replaced his gun with Kokugatsu. He gathered his reiatsu and fired a weak Getsunai at the Cenitaur. Summer watched as the attack bisected the Cenitaur. Green acid rained down all over the cavern. Ichigo created a shield made of his reiatsu around his back, protecting Summer from any acid. He continued to shunpō'ed away.

"Is he a Huntsman?" Summer thought as she witnessed Ichigo easily decimate the Cenitaur. "What about the Death Eaters? I don't see them around here."

"Hey," Summer said.

"I don't even know his name," Summer realized.

"Yeah?" Ichigo asked.

"Did you kill all the Death Eaters?" she asked.

"Death Eaters… you mean those spider Grimm?" Ichigo asked.

"Yes, those," she replied.

"I did," Ichigo replied. Summer looked up to see a small hole of light shining in the distance.

"I-is that sunlight?" she wondered. Suddenly, the light in front of them began to disappear as more Death Eaters crawled out, blocking the path.

"D-DE-!" Summer cried out. She couldn't finish her sentence as she watched Ichigo unleash another Getsunai, much stronger than the one he used on the Cenitaur. The Death Eaters were bisected by the attack, slicing apart the cavern opening. As Ichigo and Summer shunpō'ed through the cavern, the opening collapsed on itself, sealing the entrance once again. Summer was blinded by the sunlight. It took her a minute before she opened her eyes to see a familiar red forest.

"I-is this real?" Summer mumbled to herself.

"It is," Ichigo replied. She looked down and saw how young Ichigo was with his long orange hair. In the distance, Ichigo could see Velvet running toward him. Velvet stopped when she saw him.

"I-Ichigo," Velvet said, bent down, trying to catch her breath.

"So his name is Ichigo… how unique," Summer thought.

"Sorry about that, Velvet," Ichigo said. "I sensed her dying and had to rush to save her." Velvet looked up to see a woman on Ichigo's back.

"It's… ok… I guess," Velvet said, finally catching her breath. Summer climbed off Ichigo's back as she embraced the outside world. She could feel the sun shining down on her, the breeze from the wind, the rattling of the leaves. Ichigo and Velvet stood in the back.

"She was trapped in the cavern for a while," Ichigo said.

"Oh," Velvet said. "That makes sense." Suddenly, they heard an alarm from Velvet's scroll. She took it out. "It's three o'clock. We should head back."

"Did we collect enough sap?" Ichigo asked, forgetting the actual reason they came to Forever Fall Forest.

"Luckily, the last Forever Red Trees had enough sap to fill both of our jars," Velvet replied. All three of them began to walk back.

"So both of you are students at Beacon?" Summer asked.

"We are," Velvet replied.

"So how do you know Ruby?" Summer asked.

"She's part of my team," Ichigo said.

"Part of your team…" Summer said. "Ozpin let her join Beacon?" Ichigo could sense immense rage starting to bubble inside Summer, a rage that formed from a parent's protective instincts.

"He did," Ichigo said. "According to Ruby, Ozpin let her enter Beacon despite her being only 15 years old."

"OZPIN YOU BASTARD!" Summer yelled, scaring off the nearby animals.

"I guess you didn't want her to join Beacon," Ichigo said.

"With how much danger a Huntress typically goes through… no," Summer said.

"I guess this also applies to Yang as well?" Ichigo asked.

"Let me guess… she's in Beacon as well?" Summer growled.

"She is. Luckily, they are on the same team," Ichigo replied.

"And he's in the same team as them," Velvet suddenly added.

"OH!?" Summer said as she stared at Ichigo.

"Don't worry. I didn't do anything inappropriate to them," Ichigo reassured. "And it was Yang's choice to add me to their team."

"Fine," Summer said. Suddenly, Ichigo sensed a familiar reiatsu going down fast.

"Velvet, make sure Summer meets with the others safely," Ichigo said as he shunpō'ed away.

"Dammit, Jaune. Don't you dare die on me now," Ichigo thought.

Scene Change: Jaune and Cardin

"Hold this," Cardin said as he shoved a sealed cardboard box into Jaune's hand. He grabbed two jars from Professor Mulberry and placed them on top of the box. "Now follow me." Cardin shoved Jaune forward. Jaune grumbled as he followed Cardin. They soon reached a Forever Red Tree. "Now get me that sap."

"No," Jaune said, dropping the box on the ground. The jars tipped over and fell. "We are partners for this, so you need to help." Cardin chuckled.

"Sure, I can help," Cardin said as he pulled out his scroll. "But I might want to show Professor Goodwitch this." Cardin played a video of Jaune and Pyrrha talking last night, including him telling her the truth about his additions.

"H-how did you get that?" Jaune asked. Cardin silently smirked.

"Good thing there's a camera above the rooftop door," Cardin thought. Jaune grumbled as he began to collect the sap. Cardin pulled out his scroll.

"Status?" Cardin messaged his teammates.

"Partner's collecting my sap," Russel replied.

"Same," Sky replied.

"Same," Dove also replied.

"Make sure we're within the same area," Cardin sent as he closed his scroll. He leaned back, relaxing.

"Should I try and take his scroll?" Jaune thought as he noticed Cardin lying down on a nearby tree. "Not yet. Even if I grab his scroll, I need his password to unlock it," Jaune thought as he waited for the jar to fill with sap. The jar only filled halfway when the sap stopped dripping. Jaune walked over to Cardin, who opened his eyes and stared at Jaune.

"What?" he questioned.

"We need to go to another Forever Red Tree to get more sap," Jaune replied.

"That's your job," Cardin replied, casually relaxing on the ground. Jaune sighed as he walked away to collect more sap. Jaune had to find three more Forever Red Trees to fill both of their jars. By the time he returned, the rest of Team CRDL had joined Cardin.

"About time you're here. Now take out your scroll and find out where your partner is."

"Why?" Jaune asked.

"That red-haired know-it-all thinks she's so smart," Cardin began, his tone dripping with disdain. "Last night, Dove managed to round up an entire box of Rapier Wasps. Now, we're going to put them to work." Jaune's eyes widened as he realized what Cardin planned to do with the sap and the Rapier Wasps.

"Now you get it," Cardin smirked. Sky grabbed Jaune's scroll and powered it on.

"Wow, didn't expect Jaune to be a rich boy as well," Sky commented.

"Can you get into his scroll?" Cardin asked.

Sky connected a cord from his own scroll to Jaune's. "It's going to take a few hours," Sky replied.

"What's your password to your scroll?" Cardin demanded.

"Fuck you," Jaune spat back.

Cardin responded by punching Jaune in the face.

"Want to try again?" Cardin sneered.

Jaune glared defiantly at Cardin. Cardin looked to Russel and Dove. "What was that orange-haired girl want to do with me?" he asked, pretending to think hard. "Ah, break his legs."

Jaune's eyes widened as Dove and Russel tightened their grip on him. They raised their legs and stomped hard on his bent limbs.

"GAH!" Jaune yelled, pain surging through him as Dove and Russel continued stomping on his legs, breaking bones with each strike.

"Now, Jaune… want to tell me your password?" Cardin taunted.

Despite the agony, Jaune glared back at Cardin. "I don't care what you do to me… but you're not messing with my team," he gritted out.

Cardin kicked Jaune in the chest, sending him crashing to the ground. Dove and Russel released Jaune, and he was slammed into the dirt. Cardin walked over and began stomping on him. Jaune struggled, trying to protect his chest, but then Cardin kicked him in the ribs, sending him rolling toward a tree.

"Gah!" Jaune cried out as his injured body collided with the trunk. As he tried to get up, the ground shook with a low growl. Team CRDL turned to see a massive Ursa Major emerging from the bushes.

"RRRrrrr!" The Ursa Major roared.

"An Ursa Major!" Russel identified.

"Run!" Cardin yelled. Team CRDL bolted, abandoning Jaune to face the creature alone.

"Dammit," Jaune thought to himself, eyes widening as the Ursa Major locked onto him, its crimson eyes burning with malice. It charged straight at him.

"It's hard for an Ursa Major to change direction once it charges," Jaune realized, quickly formulating a plan. As the Ursa Major leaped toward him, Jaune rolled aside, causing the Grimm to overshoot its charge. He used the momentum to roll toward his shield, just in time to block the creature's first swipe.

Standing on its hind legs, the Ursa Major swiped at Jaune with its claws. He did his best to block, but one of the claws caught the edge of the shield, sending it flying. Jaune's eyes widened in horror as the Ursa Major swiped again, its claws slashing through his arm.

"GAH!" Jaune screamed, the pain overwhelming him. As he looked up, the Ursa Major seemed to smirk, enjoying his suffering.

"F-fuck you," Jaune muttered, blood spitting from his mouth as he coughed. His injuries from Team CRDL and the Ursa Major were taking their toll. The Ursa Major let out a triumphant roar before it lunged, sinking its teeth into Jaune's neck.

Suddenly, a beam of energy sliced through the Ursa Major, killing it instantly. Ichigo arrived just in time to see Jaune's dead body. He looked above to see Jaune's ghost, looking as he had before the injuries, with no Chain of Fate on his chest.

"I'm sorry, Jaune," Ichigo said quietly. Jaune gave him a sad, resigned look.

"It's not your fault, Ichigo," Jaune's ghost replied.

"I know it's not," Ichigo answered, his hand gently reaching out to touch Jaune's ghost. Jaune's eyes widened, surprised by the connection.

"I can see and touch ghosts," Ichigo explained as if reading his thoughts. "Who did this to you?"

"Team CRDL," Jaune answered.

"I will make sure to avenge you," Ichigo vowed. "Any final wishes?"

"Please take my body to my family," Jaune asked, his voice soft. "And tell Pyrrha… I'm sorry for being a lousy partner."

"You weren't a lousy partner. You were just nervous," Ichigo replied. "But I'll make sure your family gets your body."

"Thank you," Jaune said, his form dissipating into golden sparkles.

Ichigo found Jaune's shield and sword. He pressed a button to retract the shield and placed the sheathed sword on Jaune's chest. Removing his coat, Ichigo wrapped it gently around Jaune's body. He spotted Jaune's scroll—and a few others—on the ground and pocketed them before carefully lifting Jaune's body.

With a shunpō, Ichigo returned to the starting point, where Professor Mulberry immediately noticed him carrying someone.

"What happened?" Professor Mulberry asked, his face paling.

"A student was killed," Ichigo replied. "Please call Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch."

Professor Mulberry nodded quickly, pulling out his scroll. "Team Leaders, check if everyone in your team is here."

Pyrrha rushed to Ichigo, her face filled with dread.

"Ichigo… don't tell me," she whispered.

Ichigo looked at her and nodded grimly.

"No… NO!" Pyrrha cried, pulling part of Ichigo's coat away to reveal Jaune's lifeless face. Ren and Nora quickly joined her, trying to comfort her as she wept. The rest of Team RWBY gathered around, equally shocked by the sight of Jaune's dead body.

Amid the chaos, Velvet and Summer arrived. Summer's eyes widened when she saw Ruby.

"RUBY! YANG!" Summer shouted, rushing toward them. Ruby and Yang turned around, only to be tackled to the ground by Summer.

"M-mom!" Ruby gasped, her eyes wide with confusion. "But… you died?"

"Y-you…" Ruby stammered. "You're alive?"

Summer reached to the top of her dress and unzipped a hidden pocket, pulling out a dusty, yellowed piece of paper. She handed it to Ruby. Ruby gasped as she opened it, her hands trembling.

The paper was covered with drawings of five stick figures. One was drawn with a red crayon, shorter than the others. Two were yellow, one shorter than the other, and the last two were gray and black.

"I… I drew this," Ruby whispered, her voice cracking. "Just before you left."

Summer nodded, her eyes moistening with tears as she saw Ruby's wide, hopeful gaze.

"And I've never lost track of it. It was my only source of light in the dark hell I was imprisoned in," she told Ruby in a sad tone. "It kept me sane, knowing I had two little girls waiting for me at home… waiting for me to come home." Her tone became amused as she continued, "Though, I think my youngest only wanted my cookies, knowing they were made with Death Stalker venom mixed with Ursa blood…"

"Only Mom made that joke about her delicious double chocolate chip cookies!" Ruby thought, confirming that this woman was indeed her long-lost mother.

"MOMMMM!" Ruby wailed as she threw herself at Summer. She wrapped her arms around Summer, hugging her with all her might. Summer finally broke down and began to cry, joining Ruby in her tears. Summer glanced at Yang as she opened her arms. Yang smiled and joined the family hug.

"It's me. And this time, I'm not leaving you. Ever," Summer said. Despite the situation, Team RWBIY and Team JNPR either smiled or cried at the scene. Blake and Weiss cracked small smiles. Nora was crying on Ren's shoulder, who wiped his own tears away. Pyrrha also cracked a small smile, trying not to show her sadness over Jaune's death. Ichigo, the man who rescued Summer from her hellish prison, smiled as he too remembered when he reunited with his mother in Hell. Soon Ruby and Summer stopped crying as they all ended the group hug.

"How?" Yang asked. Professor Mulberry interrupted before Summer could answer.

"Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch will be here shortly," Professor Mulberry said as he walked back to the students. That's when he noticed Summer. "Missus Rose, to think you managed to return from the grave."

"Hello, Harold," Summer replied. "It's unfortunate that Sundered Rose broke." Professor Mulberry looked at the rest of the students.

"Who else are we missing?" Professor Mulberry asked.

"We are missing Hadrian Evan, Isabella Vulpes, and Lillian Nightingale from Team HEIL (1)," Coco Adel replied, taking charge of the students during the brief moment.

"Hm…" Professor Mulberry pulled out his scroll. He noticed that those three members were partnering with Team CRDL, who were currently all present. "Team CRDL, where are your partners?"

"I don't know," Russel shrugged. In the distance, two ships flew toward them.

"It's a Bullhead," someone shouted. The Bullheads landed on a nearby clearing. Everyone walked over to the clearing to see Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch, both frowning.

"Everyone, but Team RWBIY, Team JNPR, and Team CRDL, you can enter the first Bullhead and go back with Professor Mulberry," Professor Goodwitch said. The students nodded as Professor Mulberry took attendance of everyone entering the Bullhead and sent the list of names to Professor Goodwitch. Afterward, the Bullhead with students flew away.

"Cardin, tell us what happened," Professor Ozpin asked as he looked at him.

"I know my rights! I want a lawyer!" Cardin demanded. Professor Ozpin stared at Cardin.

"Ok, Cardin." Professor Ozpin turned to Russel.

"I want a lawyer," Russel requested.

"Same," Sky added.

"Me too," Dove said.

"OK then." Professor Ozpin said. "I, Gangari (2) Ozpin, invoke the powers granted to me as a Huntsman, the Headmaster of Beacon Academy and member of the Vale Council. Cardin Winchester, Russel Thrush, Dove Bronzewing, and Sky Lark are under arrest for the murders of Jaune Arc, Hadrian Evan, Arabella Vulpes, and Lillian Nightingale. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you." Professor Ozpin walked over to them, pulling out a set of handcuffs and handcuffing them. Surprisingly, none of them tried to resist.

"These must be handcuffs that prevent them from manipulating their reiatsu," Ichigo thought, as he couldn't sense their reiatsu anymore.

Professor Goodwitch escorted Team CRDL inside the Bullhead. He then turned to Summer, whose eyes widened in fear upon seeing her.

"Hello, Ozzie," Summer said in a childish voice as if she were speaking to a child.

"Summer… is it really you? I mean, not an impostor?" His tone was pleasant, but Ichigo could tell he was nervous around her.

"Why, Ozzie, don't tell me you forgot the woman who taught you some humility! Come on, now! Which was it? The time I nearly removed your right arm for grabbing my ass? Or was it the time I almost blew off your balls with Sundered Rose?" All the girls stared at Summer with confused looks.

"Summer almost cut off Professor Ozpin's arm for touching her ass?" Yang thought.

"Is Sundered Rose Mom's weapon? I wonder what type of weapon it is. A sword gun?" Ruby thought. Ren shivered at the thought of being in the same situation as Professor Ozpin. Meanwhile, Professor Ozpin shivered as he remembered that incident.

"Yes. I believe you are Summer Rose. No one knew about that last interaction…" He frowned at her. "Till now."

Summer snickered. "Well, better late than never, Ozzie!"

"Getting back to the situation at hand," Professor Ozpin said. "Does anyone know anything about this situation?"

"Jaune was a victim of Cardin's bullying," Pyrrha said.

"That may be a result of Ms. Nikos's outstanding performance in Combat Class," Professor Goodwitch commented.

"That's possible, considering Mr. Kurosaki and Ms. Nikos are ranked first and second, respectively, while Mr. Winchester is ranked in the middle," Professor Ozpin replied.

"I have something," Ichigo said, pulling out the extra scroll he found near Jaune's body. "I found this nearby," Ichigo said as he handed the extra scroll to him.

"Hm… this appears to belong to Mr. Lark," Professor Ozpin replied, storing the scroll away. After that, everyone boarded the Bullhead and returned to Beacon. When they arrived at Beacon Academy, they were greeted by a group of armed guards. The guards escorted Team CRDL into an armored car before driving away.

"They will be kept in a secure area until the trial can be arranged," Professor Ozpin said. He turned to the group of students. "Classes will be canceled for the rest of this week. I will have a psychiatrist available for students who wish to talk with someone." Suddenly, someone grabbed Professor Ozpin's arm. He raised his walking stick, ready to defend himself, only to see it was Summer with a sadistic grin.

"S-Summer?"

"You didn't think I forgot about you letting my girls into Beacon, did you?!" she continued, still cheerful. Ozpin paled. In the distance, Professor Goodwitch couldn't help but chuckle at the scene. Professor Ozpin, who stood 6'6" (1.98 meters), cowered in fear from Summer Rose, who stood about 5'4" (1.62m) tall.

"We need to stop by the kitchen! I need to grab a spoon for your disembowelment," Summer said. Ozpin paled even more. "Then we're going to the sheds to find some rusty and dull shears!"

"Stay away from me!" Ozpin yelled as he pulled his arm free from Summer. His body glowed green as he propelled himself forward.

"Wait! Stop! I just want to punish you for breaking your word to me! It won't hurt!" Summer shouted at the fleeing Professor Ozpin. As she took a step forward, she suddenly lost control of her body and began to fall. Ichigo, already sensing her weakened state, appeared in front of her, catching her.

"Mom!" Ruby shouted as she unconsciously and silently appeared beside them. The rest of Team RWBIY and JNPR huddled around them.

"Don't worry," Ichigo said. "It appears Summer's exhaustion finally caught up to her."

"Her exhaustion? She didn't appear exhausted when we saw her," Yang replied.

"I gave her some of my aura to relieve most of her immediate exhaustion and restore her aura levels," Ichigo said.

"Oh," Yang said.

"While I'm not a doctor, I believe a good night's rest with her daughters and some food should help with her recovery," Ichigo said as he carefully picked her up.

"Where are you carrying her to?" Ruby asked.

"Back to the dorm," Ichigo replied. He looked at Blake and Weiss. "Can you grab some food for Summer, Ruby, and Yang?"

"Sure," Blake replied.

"Make sure to also bring some soup or yogurt in case she hasn't regained the ability to eat solid foods." Blake nodded and walked to the cafeteria.

"Wait for me!" Weiss shouted as she followed behind Blake. In the commission, Team JNPR had vanished.

"I need to check with them later," Ichigo thought to himself as he carried the sleeping Summer to their dorm room. He placed her on Ichigo's bed. Ruby grabbed a chair and placed it beside Ichigo's bed. She sat down and stared at the sleeping Summer.

"I'll leave you two to watch her," Ichigo said. "Don't let her eat too much too fast. Give her the soup and yogurt first. If she finishes all of that and still seems fine, give her the other food."

"Ok." Ruby nodded.

"Where are you going?" Yang asked as she leaned on the wall.

"I need to check in on Pyrrha to see how she's doing," Ichigo said.

"Oh yeah," Ruby said as she remembered Pyrrha and Jaune's death. "Should we go see her?"

"I'll go. Both of you stay with your mom." Ichigo said as he left. Ichigo quickly found Pyrrha on the roof of the classroom building. He walked up the stairs to the roof. When he tried to open the door, the door failed to move. He scanned the door with his reiatsu.

"The door is magnetized shut," Ichigo sensed. "Pyrrha's semblance must be magnetism." Ichigo gathered a bit of his reiatsu into his fist and punched the metal door. The force from his punch broke door hinges and the magnetic force Pyrrha applied to the door, sending it flying to the edge of the roof only for it to stop at the very edge. Ichigo stepped onto the roof to see Pyrrha sitting on the ground with her back to the wall and her knees pulled to her chest. With a wave of her hand, the door flew back to the doorframe, sealing the entrance again.

"Hello, Ichigo." She said. Ichigo walked down and sat beside her.

"Are you ok?" he asked.

"Of course, I am," she replied.

"Pyrrha, don't lie to me," Ichigo replied. "I can easily tell that Jaune's death hurts you a lot." He pulled her into a hug. Pyrrha began to cry.

"Why didn't I find out the truth earlier?" Pyrrha mumbled. "Why did he have to die?"

"It's not your fault," Ichigo replied.

"But he's my partner," Pyrrha replied.

"But you only knew him for a month," Ichigo said. "Why do you feel so attached to Jaune?"

"He was the first person who didn't know who I was," Pyrrha began. "Ever since I became famous, earning the moniker Invincible Girl, all those who tried to be my friend were due to my fame or fortune."

"But he was different?" Ichigo asked.

"He was… and so are you, Ren, and Nora," Pyrrha admitted.

"Pyrrha… Jaune is his own person. He made his own decisions. He chose to enter Beacon despite not having the proper training. He witnessed the dangers a Huntsman would typically deal with, and he continued to stay," Ichigo said.

"But…" Pyrrha said.

"I don't think Jaune would want you to blame yourself for his decisions and his death," Ichigo said.

"But…" Pyrrha mumbled.

"Pyrrha," Ichigo said as he stood up and looked at her. "If you don't want a repeat of what happened to Jaune, then become strong enough to protect those you cherish." Pyrrha looked at Ichigo before she stood up.

"Thank you, Ichigo," she said. Suddenly, they received a message from Professor Ozpin.

"It seems Professor Ozpin needs to see us," Ichigo said.

"This late?" Pyrrha asked. Ichigo and Pyrrha walked down the classroom building. Ichigo sent a few messages to Ruby.

"Hey, Ruby. I found Pyrrha and she is ok. How is your mother's condition? Professor Ozpin asked to see Pyrrha, and I so I will be back later." It didn't take long for Ruby to reply.

"That's good to hear. Mom woke up and ate all the food that Blake and Weiss brought back. Thanks for letting Mom use your bed. We're spending the time catching up. Do you want your bed back?"

"Pyrrha, is it ok for me to use Jaune's bed for the night?" Ichigo asked.

"Why?" she asked.

"Summer is sleeping in my bed right now," Ichigo replied.

"I don't see a problem with that… though let me ask Nora and Ren," Pyrrha replied as she pulled out her scroll and messaged her teammates. "Sure," she replied.

"I'll be sleeping in Jaune's bed for the time being," Ichigo replied to Ruby.

"Oh. Please tell Team JNPR thank you for me," Ruby replied. They soon arrived at Professor Ozpin's office. They entered to see two strangers there. One of them was a giant, muscular woman who was taller than Ichigo with light skin and long golden blonde hair, tied in a ponytail. Her left eye was scarred. She wore a silver suit of armor with yellow accents. Her chest and shoulder pads had two crescent emblems, the same as Jaune's shield. Beside her was an older man, with tanned skin and dull blonde hair, standing about Ichigo's height. He wore a suit of armor that resembled Jaune's armor.

"Ah, Ichigo, Pyrrha," Professor Ozpin said. "Please come in." Ichigo and Pyrrha entered the office. "This is Jaune's parents, Celestine d'Arc, the head of the d'Arc family." Celestine stood up and hugged Ichigo.

"Thank you for finding my little boy's body!" Celestine shouted. She quickly let go of Ichigo as she turned to look at Pyrrha. "Thank you for trying your best to take care of my little boy."

"Dear, please calm down," the man said.

"But Guillaume!" Celestine complained.

"Celestine, we need to discuss with Gangari how to deal with Jogaunt (3)," Guillaume said.

"Can't that man get over this stupid feud?" Celestine complained.

"There is history between you and the Winchesters?" Ichigo asked.

"There is," Guillaume said. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Guillaume d'Arc, formerly Le Queux. Jaune's father."

"Why are you d'Arc while Jaune is Arc?" Pyrrha asked.

"According to Great Grandfather, the d'Arc is reserved for those who have made a name for themselves," Celestine explained. "I think it was this battle where I earned the right to be called a d'Arc."

"That's correct, dear," Guillaume said. "Now, where to begin…" Celestine silently sat down as her husband began to tell the story.

"Jogaunt Winchester was the commander of Castell Blau [Spanish: Blue Castle, one of the many outposts between Vale and the Desolate Land that lies between Vale and Vacuo," Professor Ozpin began.

"Castell Blau was facing several problems. One of them was Jogaunt's poor management of resources, causing them to run out of food and dust earlier than expected. It also didn't help that the remaining food and dust were hoarded by Jogaunt and his inner circle," Guillaume said.

"That's when I stepped in," Celestine said. "I was one of the Huntresses on seasonal rotation when I heard a rumor about this. So, with the help of Guillaume and a few others, we investigated the rumors and discovered their corrupt actions. I knocked them unconscious, bound them with aura suppressant handcuffs, and threw them in prison."

"I assume Jogaunt didn't take that well?" Pyrrha asked.

"He didn't," Guillaume replied. "He threatened us, saying that once he was freed, he would demand that we be executed for our actions."

"Which never happened," Celestine said. "We used their stashed resources to last another week before I did the most heroic thing imaginable."

"And most reckless," Guillaume added.

"We got word that a supply convoy was making its way toward Castell Blau, but their forces weren't strong enough to clear the hundreds of Grimm in their way," Celestine began.

"We knew that a path had to be cleared for the supply convoy, but we didn't have enough Huntsmen to protect Castell Blau and clear the path," Guillaume said.

"So, I decided to do a suicide charge into the Grimm to clear the path," Celestine said.

"What!?" Pyrrha questioned.

"Indeed," Guillaume replied. "It was a suicide mission that she took. At the time, Celestine used a gigantic Warhammer, Météore [Meteor, as her main weapon, which was broken in one of the many waves of Grimm. I took Météore and created two war hammers with dust-powered rockets on the other end."

"So, I charged into the battle with hundreds of Grimm. I decimated them with my war hammers and used all the rockets on me to push myself forward. I eventually reached the supply convoy and escorted them back to Castell Blau. Everyone called me the Brûlante Croisé [Blazing Crusader, and my war hammers were named Divine Météore [Divine Meteor] and Brûlante Météore [Blazing Meteor]. With that act, it solidified me as the leader of Castell Blau," Celestine said.

"Eventually, Jogaunt was freed and sent to another fort," Guillaume said.

"I would suspect that Jogaunt would order Cardin to harass Jaune," Professor Ozpin added.

"So what legal actions can we take against them?" Guillaume asked.

"With the evidence we gathered, we can charge them with four counts of murder," Professor Ozpin said.

"But will those charges stick?" Celestine asked. "The Winchesters are extremely wealthy and have various connections."

The five of them spent the next twenty minutes planning their legal arguments for tomorrow's trial. It was about ten at night when Ichigo and Pyrrha returned to the dorms. Ichigo walked into his room and quietly grabbed a pair of clothes before entering Team JNPR's room. He took a quick shower before going to bed.

Originally Team HAIL consisted of Adam Taurus but I changed him out for an OC which begins with the letter E so it's now Team HEIL but pronounced hail. That story was also where I included Summer Rose's multi-year imprisonment.

It is never revealed what Professor Ozpin's first name is. It's alluded that Ozpin is similar to Odin, so I decided to use one of the many names/titles associated with Odin. Gangari means Wanderer, as in Odin the Wanderer. Knowing Ozpin's original background this seems fitting.

According to the wiki, Cardin Winchester was a reference to Henry Beaufort who oversaw the trial and execution of Joan of Arc. Henry's father was John of Gaunt so his name is now Jogaunt Winchester.
