Dean parked the car next to what they assumed was Bo's car. All the crows gathered around the cave and waited for them.

"Are we really going in there?" Dean asked.
"Looks like it," Roman said.
"Good thing phones come with flashlights these days," Dean said.

They got out of the car and moved over to the cave opening. Some of the crows went in first to guide their way through the cave. The rest of the crows followed behind. There was an eerie silence hanging in the air. Even the crows remained silent as they guided the two men.

"I see light," Dean whispered.

There was light coming from around a corner. They turned the corner and all Roman could see was Solstice standing bathed in a weird black and grey light.

"Solstice!" Roman screamed.

Roman ran towards her but several crows flew in front of him to stop him.

"You'll die if you touch her," Bo said.

Both Roman and Dean looked at Bo who was standing leaned up against the wall. He had a smug look on his face.

"What did you do to her?" Roman asked.
"She's opening the gateway to another world. You're too early for the show. We have about 22 more hours to go. She's already gone as you can see. Say your goodbyes and go home. You shouldn't be here when that thing opens," Bo said.
"You motherfucker!" Dean growled. "Let me hurt him, Roman. Let me knock his teeth down his throat."

Roman turned to look at Solstice again. He could hardly recognize her face. She appeared to be long gone from this world. He stepped as close to the gateway as he dared.

"Pumpkin," he spoke. "I know you're still in there. I need you to fight this."
"Get away from her!" Bo snarled.

Bo stepped forward but Dean was fast to grab the other man. Dean wrestled Bo to the ground, wrapped his arms and legs around him, and held him down. He placed a hand over Bo's mouth to keep him as quiet as possible.

"Go on," Dean said. "Talk to her."
"Solstice. My beloved. Pumpkin. I know you can hear me," Roman said. "Fuck!"
"Don't give up," Dean said.

Bo tried getting words out but Dean kept his hand over Bo's mouth. Roman looked around and saw all the crows gathered in there with them. He turned his head and looked at Solstice again.

"Fight it, Solstice!" Roman raised his voice. "I know you can hear me and I know you can hear them. All your crow friends are here for you. They're here to help you. Fight it, damn it! Fucking fight it! You're better than this! I know you can do it! Fight it!"

He screamed the last two words and it felt like the cave came alive for a moment when they all heard Solstice inhale deeply. She fell out of the light and down on the ground. Roman quickly dropped to his knees and pulled her into his arms.

"Roman?" Solstice asked.
"I got you," Roman said.

A loud caw was heard, followed by the caws of every single crow in there. They all attacked Bo, and Dean quickly let go and crawled over to Roman and Solstice.

"What the fuck?" Dean asked.

Bo screamed while the crows attacked and took pieces of his flesh along with pecking out his eyes. There were two bloody holes where his eyes used to be in less than half a minute.

"Don't kill him," Solstice said.
"I think it's out of our control," Roman said.
"No, don't kill him!" Solstice yelled. "I need him alive to close the gateway for good."

Solstice crawled towards the attacking birds and it seemed to calm them down. Every crow stopped what they were doing and Bo's sobs of pain filled the cave.

"Thank you, my dearest friends. You've done so much for me today. Let me finish it," Solstice looked back at Roman and Dean. "Help me get him up."

They grabbed Bo and walked over to the portal. Solstice grabbed Bo's shirt and sneered as he let out another sob.

"I'm sorry," Bo whispered.
"Not good enough. Men like you are too dangerous for this world," Solstice said.
"But you're good. You're in sync with nature," Bo said.
"That's why I'm doing this. Nature needs me to keep the balance," Solstice said. "Let him go."

Roman and Dean let go of Bo, and Solstice pushed Bo into the portal. Electricity ran from Bo and down her arms.

"This is where you belong, Bo!" Solstice yelled. "You're no longer part of any world!"

She stepped back and fell into Roman's arms. They all watched as Bo turned to dust and the light disappeared. All there was left was a normal cave wall.

"Wow, you really did shut the whole thing down," Dean said.
"Let's get you home," Roman said.

They made it out of the cave and looked at all the crows still hanging around them.

"Thank you," Roman said.
"I'll see you guys at home. You're getting extra snacks today," Solstice smiled. "Fly home, my friends."

The crows took off and they got back into Dean's car. Roman and Solstice sat on the back seat together. She was leaning into his embrace and he kept holding on to her.

"For a moment there, I thought I lost you," Roman said.
"For a moment there, you almost did," Solstice said.
"Fucking awesome that you can speak to crows," Dean chucked from the driver's seat. "You gotta teach me how."
"They're the ones who started speaking to me first," Solstice said. "I just listened and learned how to answer."
