Dawn finishes getting ready for bed and now finds herself leaning on the sink while looking at the interior of the bathroom. It's in no better shape than the rest of the house. And eyeing the exposed pipes, she's worried about rust possibly being in the water itself which could poison herself and her host if consumed.

She did her best to wash up and really wished she could do more for her hair. But oddly, the only hair product she found was for horses.

A knock comes at the bathroom door.

"Hey, Dawn! Is everything alright in there?'

"I'm fine!" Dawn turns around. "I've finished. You can come in if you want."

The door opens to let the yellow teen in. "Hey, I only have some cup noodles. I hope you're…" Sunset freezes as she looks down and spots that only a single leg is poking out from under the skirt.

Dawn blinks and looks down. "Huh? It appears I've misplaced my leg," she then feints looking around before her eyes settle right next to the doorway. "There it is!"

Turning, Sunset finds a prosthetic leg resting next to the wall.

"Mind bringing it over," the silver girl grabs her crutch and hobbles over to take a seat on the toilet.

"Sure," the yellow teen picks up the leg and carries it over to Dawn to hand it over. She watches on as the little girl manages to strap the prosthetic over the stump of her missing limb. "I'm… I've been trying not to ask—"

"It was a traffic accident. We were passing a light and suddenly a bus rammed into our car. Turns out the driver had been working triple shifts and fell asleep," Dawn then caresses the fake leg. "I lost a lot that day."

The two remained there is silence for a bit. "I'm sorry for asking."

"Don't be," Dawn smiles and the older girl. "It was bound to happen. I'm honestly surprised you didn't ask after my eye popped out."

"Not going to lie. That did freak me out a bit."

The two chuckled.

Dawn stands up. "By the way. I'd love cup noodles," and shrugs. "It's been a while since I had any," she then eyes the pipping along the walls. "You're not going to use tap, are you?"

Sunset arched a brow before facing the wall and noticed what the little girl was looking at. "Oh? Yeah! Even I wouldn't drink what comes out of those," the teen turns back to her guest with a smile. "Don't worry. I keep stock of purified drinking water."

.oOo.

After eating for the remainder of the night, the two sat on the couch, streaming whatever movie or show they thought seemed interesting and eventually fell asleep where they were.

.oOo.

During the morning, Dawn quickly figures that Sunset is one of those people who overly rely on the snooze button as even after the alarm went off three times, the yellow teen would still rather remain in bed. It wasn't until the silver girl had finished getting dressed that the flame-haired girl rushed down the stairs with a change of clothes in her arms.

"There's milk in the fridge, cereal in the upper cabinets, bowels a cross from them, spoons two drawers from the sink!" Sunset quickly tells her before running into the bathroom. Dawn merely shrugs before getting some breakfast for herself.

Sunset walked out of the bathroom to see her guest rinsing out a bowel. "Sorry, Dawn. I'm not really a morning person."

The silver girl lets out a laugh. "So I've noticed," Dawn then takes out her phone. "I checked. It seems the snow stopped earlier this morning, and plows had already been sent out. But it seems as though not enough roads are clear to allow school today. Though, apparently the principal at some prep school is pushing for classes."

"If it's where I think it is, they pride themselves at being the best at everything."

A knock then comes at the door.

"That must be my ride," Dawn says as she grabs her crutch and goes over to the entrance with Sunset following behind her.

Once Sunset answers the door, she meets and older woman with greying red hair done up in a bun and blue skin wearing a black and purple dress with a light blue apron.

"Hi, I'm Sunset Shimmer," the flame-haired girl reaches out a hand to the woman. "You must be Dawn's—"

"Friend!" Dawn cuts in as she steps out. "Mayberry is a good friend of the family. She's been around for as long as I can remember," she smiles up at the woman.

Mayberry nods. "That I am," she looks over at Sunset. "And you must be the one who took care of…" the woman then eyes the silver girl. "Dawn in my absence. You have my thanks. Don't know what I would do if anything were to happen to her."

"It was no problem," the teen tries to wave them off. "Dawn's a friend. I couldn't just leave her."

"Either way," Mayberry goes to reach into the apron's pocket. "It would be rude not to—" her hand is then stopped by Dawn's.

"Offer her thanks," Dawn smiles as she lets go of the woman's hand.

Sunset looks between the two. "As I said. It was nothing. A friend helps a friend in need. Just glad I was able to do this much for her," she then turns to the little girl. "Guess I'll see you around, Dawn."

"I'll make sure that we will."

The little girl and woman leaves the small building and walked around the corner where they find a limo with a large, buff man in a suit is waiting for them. The man opens one of the rear doors.

"Thank you, Brute," Dawn nods before she got in along with the woman. "And thank you, Mayberry, for having him parked around the corner as I asked."

The woman replies. "You are my employer, Ms. Dawn. I have to do as you say. Otherwise, I'd be filling out unemployment papers."

"Don't be like that," the girl smirks while shaking her head. "You're the closet thing I have to family," then eyes the front. "And you to, Brute." The driver nods in recognition. "So?" she turns to the woman. "What did you find?"

With an eye roll, Mayberry hands over a thin envelope.

"Uh…" Dawn accepts it. "Where's the rest?" and starts skimming through what little there is.

"That is all there is."

The girl jerks her head up. "Huh!?"

"Everything I could find on Sunset Shimmer is right there."

"But this can't be it," the girl flips through the pages. "It only goes back to a few years ago."

"Well, it seems that your friend didn't exist until then."

Dawn blinks at the woman before looking back down at the file. "I've been thinking, Mayberry…"

With a sigh, the woman reacts. "Here we go again."

"You know how you've been trying to encourage me to go back to school? So that I'd be more social around those closer to my own age?"

"Oh, thank you!" Mayberry lets out. "I'll prepare your enrollment forms to Crystal Prep. You should be able to attend at the beginning of next semester."

"Actually…" Dawn looks down at the files before her to see the name of Canterlot High and smirks. "I have a better idea."
