The group went out of the locker room.

"Comet!" The group turned, seeing Rawk Hawk there. He added, "Good timing, you pudgy little punk. Uncle Rawk Hawk's got some advice for ya and ya team. If you're keep stealing from me, you're going to enter a world of hurt! Quit making such a splash, if you value your puny little lives!"

He laughed at that as he left.

Goombella commented, "What. A. Creep!"

Blaze added, "How dare he threaten us like that!"

Flurrie frowned, "A very low-class move. He probably wants to scare us away so he keep the spotlight to himself."

Koops shivered, "W - well it worked!"

Luigi stammered, "O - one hundred percent!"

Violet replied, "I am not scared of him at all. You think he was the one that sent that threatening email?"

Mario responded, "I'm not sure but we should check out that lead that X told us about. Come on."

Mario took the lead once more.

...

Once they found the telephone, they also had found a storage key. Mario's Mailbox SP went off again as he read the email aloud.

He read, "Go to the storage room, next to Grubba's office. From X."

Goombella frowned, "The storage room? This guy's got us running all over!"

Blaze replied, "Yeah, it's driving me nuts too."

Flurrie reasoned, "Maybe there is a good reason behind it?"

Koops asked, "Like what?"

To that, Flurrie shrugged unsure.

Violet answered, "Well, we should follow it up. Maybe this time we won't get into trouble."

Luigi stated, "I - I don't think so..."

Mario told his team, "Makin' us run all over will hopefully make it worth it if we can find out more information. Let's go."

The team agreed with him as they headed to the storage room.

...

At the storage room, Jolene was already there and she was lecturing a security guy named Larry.

She lectured, "So you're telling me that you have no idea who got inside? What do we pay you for?"

Larry was scared, "I'm awfully sorry, Ms. Jolene. I heard a noise in there, but I couldn't find nothing..."

Jolene huffed, "Fine, leave the rest of this matter to me. Go back to your post. And listen to me carefully: do not EVER tell anyone of this or I will have your job." Larry was frightened as he left. Jolene had watched him go. That's when she spotted Mario and the others. She walked over to them. She asked, "You! Mr. Comet, this is highly inappropriate! What business do you have here? Please, I must ask you to stay out of places where you have no business being."

With that, she left.

Mario semi joked, "Whenever have I taken no for an answer?"

Luigi semi teased, "Almost never."

Mario unlocked the door and the group went into the storage room. That's when they spotted Ms. Mowz.

Goombella grumbled, "We've should have known it was her."

Koops asked, "What are you doing back here anyways?"

Ms. Mowz giggled, "I should've know that you would be back for more."

Blaze blinked, "Back for more?"

Flurrie questioned, "It must've been you that security heard?"

Ms. Mowz blew a raspberry, "Oh please! No one heard me! I'm the best mouse-burglar of all time! I am silent!"

Violet whispered, "Wish her ego was silent."

Ms. Mowz eyed her but then she continued, "It's quite obvious that someone else have been monkeying around in here."

Goombella rolled her eyes, "Pul-lease! I am like so sure."

Ms. Mowz told her, "Anyways, I came - I got what I came for - and I am now leaving. As for the anything else, help yourself to the rest." She went over to Mario, gave him a quick kiss before she added, "I almost forgot, my sweets. This arena holds many secrets, you know. You should be very careful, lest you end up like those poor souls upstairs."

Koops stammered, "W - what poor souls upstairs?"

Before she could answer, she left out of the door.

Blaze was confused, "Who was that?"

Goombella explained, "She's just a no good thief who flirts with anyone to get what she wants."

Flurrie confirmed, "Indeed."

Violet frowned, "And what did she mean by what she told us?"

Luigi stammered, "I - I have a bad feeling we are about to find out."

Mario pointed out, "The only way of finding out the truth is we have to uncover it. No matter what." That's when his Mailbox SP went off again. He read the email aloud, "Find the staircase switch to reach the attic. From X."

Blaze was super confused, "Wait there is supposed to be a staircase in here?"

Flurrie went over to some sheets that looked like boxes. She blew them away, revealing boxes to be smashed.

Flurrie commented, "Looks like we got an answer."

Mario smashed away the boxes and they all saw a huge blue switch. Mario ground pounded on it, revealing the secret staircase.

Koops gushed, "We found it!"

Goombella asked, "But what is in that attic?"

Violet answered, "No idea."

The group went up the stairs and into the attic. They had found a trap door, going down.

Luigi stammered, "T - the mystery continues."

Mario confirmed, "Sure does. This is just reminding me of what Bandy Andy was telling us the other day about all those stories. Come on!"

The group went down the trap door and into a small walkway. Just below them were Mr. Grubba and Jolene.

Mr. Grubba asked, "...So you didn't find hide or hair of nobody in that storage room, that what yer sayin'?"

Jolene confirmed, "Yes, Mr. Grubba. It appeared to be secure. Don't worry about it, sir. I've taken the necessary precautions. It was just likely a rat or something."

Mr. Grubba stated, "Well, no big deal either way. Ain't nothin' in there we'd miss too much anyway. Thanks fer stayin' on top of this, Jolene. Hey, an' by the way, any word on King K?"

Jolene replied, "I'm afraid we still don't know the whereabouts of King K, Mr. Grubba. And so... I deleted his spot on our roster per regulations. The Glitz Pit no longer has any official connection to KP Pete, a.k.a. King K. I have, of course, taken the same steps with all fighters who have gone missing."

Blaze whispered, "Missing? Didn't he retire?"

Flurrie confirmed, whispering, "He sure did... This doesn't make any sense."
