Museum exhibits are for self-improvement, John and Sarah, not for burning everything in sight!" Storm tells us
Today was museum day, which meant it was time to go out into the city! Sarah, Ashley, Rogue, John and Bobby along with the kids got on the bus and went to the Natural History Museum... Sarah and Ashley studied all the exhibits Sarah was left alone to look at the exhibits, she flinched when she ran into John.
"Impressive, huh?" He asks her
"Oh, so you're interested in all this too?" Sarah asks him
"I'm just pretending to be interested!" John grins
"I knew it!" Sarah grins
"Let's go to Bobby Rogue's?" John suggests to her
"Am I disgusting to you, though?" Sarah asks him
"That's not quite true! I really miss new people!" John says
"Guys, look who I brought to us!" John says Bobby and Rogue stop talking they smile friendly at the new girl she sits down next to Rogue and John sits down next to Bobby Drake the younger students teachers were giving different lectures and the older students were having a free time Sarah, Rogue, John and Bobby were sitting in the cafeteria the boys ordered burgers and Sarah and Rogue ordered sandwiches they were all chatting carefree then laughing Sarah and John were looking only at each other sometimes John was arguing with Bobby Rogue and Sarah roll their eyes Sarah says:
"Do they always argue like that?"
"Ha, yeah!" Rogue says
"They're supposed to be best friends...!" Sarah says
"They're always arguing!" Rogue shrugs
Sarah tries to finish her sandwich but she turns pale when she sees John a blonde girl she was younger than him she was definitely about 16 Sarah turns pale again she finishes her sandwich then says she needs to go to the bathroom she is there all alone she calmly washes her hands but sees the girl's reflection in the mirror she flinches but the girl disappears she goes back to the coffee shop she sits down next to Rogue again she mumbles.
"I think I'm going crazy...!"
"Are you crazy about me? Chubby cheeks?" John asks her
"Of course John every new girl is going to be crazy—just about you!" Rogue says rolling her eyes
Bobby and Sarah roll their eyes too but Sarah notices two guys next to John they were much older than them they were twin brothers the curly haired brother says:
"Hey buddy can you light my brother's cigarette?"
"Sorry buddy I can't light my cigarette!" John says
"Why?" His curly twin brother asks him again
"Because!" John says laughing, Rogue and Sarah roll their eyes
"John, stop it! Stop showing off!" Bobby says
"In front of her? It's not my fault that your girlfriend likes me!" John says
"You're being a jerk!" Sarah says
"Give them that lighter!" Sarah grumbles
John was distracted for a second but they immediately took his shark lighter from him he quickly jumped to his feet the curly twin brother lit his cigarette with John's lighter and gave it to his brother he lit the cigarette John became very annoyed.
"Hey, give it to me!" John says
"If I don't give it to you then what are you going to do to me?" The curly brother grins
"Guys, come on! This is a museum! You're not going to fight here, are you?" Sarah steps between John and the curly brunette
"Is that your friend?" The brunette grins
"You have nice tits, babe!" The curly one says
"You know, shut up, dumbass!" Sarah says
John winks his right eye from the curly one's cigarette, then it starts to light up John laughs Bobby raises his hand, he freezes the smoke on the guy Sarah notices that time has stopped in the museum, normal people have stopped moving, she goes up to the younger brother of the curly twin and nudges him with her hand, he sways, she grins, then looks at John seriously Rogue and Bobby follows her example:
"It's not my fault!" John raises his hands up
"I did it!" A professor in a wheelchair drove up to them
"Before you show off, think about the consequences!" The professor tells them when the news about the new mutant who attacked their president started to come back on TV
"I think it's time for us to go, professor!" He says
The junior and senior students went back to their bus and Sarah quietly stole John's lighter. Did he even feel it or did he pretend?
Bobby and Rogue were sitting in the living room watching the news about the new cure for mutation. The only one who was happy about this news was Rogue. A very irritated and angry John ran up to them.
"Have you seen my lighter?" John asks them
"No!" They say at the same time
"Sarah?" John asks her seriously
"Why do I need your stupid lighter?" The girl shrugs
She gets up from the couch and then goes into the hallway but she feels that John was pressing her against the wall.
"I know you have it, be a good girl and give me my lighter!" John says
"I don't have it!" Sarah shrugs
"I'm warning you again...!" John says
He presses her painfully against the wall again but tries to free herself from John she grabs his hands then starts to kick she shudders she starts to see some fragments from his past again...
Fragments remembers of Pyro
"I've come up with a nickname for you!" Elizabeth said
"Which one?" John grumbles
"Pyro! How do you like it? I think it's perfect for you!" Elizabeth says
"I heard there's some professor who studies mutations, I think his name is Professor X, he teaches at a school for "Gifted Children!" You definitely need to go there!" Elizabeth says
John and Elizabeth heard sirens outside, they definitely belonged to police cars, then they heard a voice on the microphone:
"John Allardyce, go outside with your hands up! We know you're here!"
"I never said anything about you!" Elizabeth says, scared
"Damn, one of those freaks probably survived, they told about me!" John says, he takes out his lighter, Elizabeth also gets up, he looks around nervously and looks at the blonde:
"Where are you going?" John grumbles
"The doctors aren't helping me at all, and I'd like to spend this last time only with you, John!" Elizabeth says with a forced smile
John still helps her get out of bed, he holds his lighter at the ready and holds Lizzy, they leave the room, he hears that the police have burst into the hospital, they have already blocked their way, then they point their guns at them.
"Say that I'm your hostage!" Lizzy whispers
"This is a bad idea!" Jog grumbles
He turns the girl over, she raises her hands, then he turns on his flame, the police are heading their way.
"He took hostages!" One policeman says
"There won't be anything left of them now! Release your weapons immediately!" John shouts
All the policemen lower their weapons to the floor, he sees Elizabeth's mother running into the building, she starts shouting something to them, they just hold her by the hands, John still holds his lighter at the ready and Lizzy whispers something to him:
"Everything will be fine!"
"I said that this is a bad idea?" John asks her
They are heading for the exit but someone takes a gun it was Elizabeth's mother she shoots at them but Elizabeth covers John with herself she quickly loses consciousness then puts her hand on his cheek she mutters:
"Run, idiot!"
John takes Elizabeth he turns on his lighter then directs his flame at the police officer in the hospital and at his mother and the rest of the staff... Then there was a terrible explosion, but John managed to avoid his arrest but he had to bury Elizabeth he stood for some time in front of her grave then decided to contact other mutants, the only thing he took with him to school was their photos, a lighter and some of his old clothes.
The end of John's upbringing
Sarah turned very pale then she fell asleep in John's lighter hands she was shaking all over John rolls his eyes he snaps his finger in front of her face then the electricity in the school is turned off he turns on his flame from the lighter then the flame moves to his hand.
"Are you cold? I'll warm you up now!" John says
Sarah and John stood by the window in the hallway his fire really warmed her she watched the strange shapes from his flames then she created her own shapes.
"It's so beautiful!" Sarah says
"It's as beautiful as you!" John says she feels his lips touch hers she answers him hesitantly they kiss for a while John walks her to her room.
"Goodnight, Pyro!" Sarah says
"Goodnight, just John!" John nods
