Chapter 18: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm: Under the Red Hood

Summary:

Jason ends up in the Batman: The Animated Series Universe in the Mask of the Phantasm ark before Bruce becomes Batman, after Bruce Proposes to Andrea, but before Andrea and her dad have to flee the mob.

Notes:

Definitely not my best work, but Red Hood is my Favorite DC Character closely followed by the Drowned from Dark Knights Metal and Rise of the Dark Knights, and Mask of the Phantasm is my favorite DC animated movie, and I wanted to see how different it would be if I combined my favorite Animated DC movie with my favorite DC Character. This was the result.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Bruce took the phone from Alfred. "Hello?"

"Bruce." Andrea said, worried. "I'm in trouble."

"What is it, Andy?"

"Daddy! They killed daddy!"

"Where are you!"

"I'm at home! They said that if you don't bring the money, I'm next!"

"I'm on my way!" Bruce shouted.

Jason was walking by a house when he heard a commotion coming from the house and saw a man he knew from his past? future? whatever it was. Drawing a gun, he put a bullet in the Joker's head and shoulder checked the door into the house and emptied a magazine into everyone who was holding a gun.

"Are you okay?" He asked, checking on the woman.

"They killed daddy." She sobbed. "They killed daddy."

Jason wrapped his jacket over her shoulders and waited for the police to show up, but he wasn't expecting Bruce to show up.

"Get away from her!" Bruce shouted, shoulder checking Jason.

Jason caught Bruce and flipped him over his shoulder and set him next to the girl. "Have a good night you two." He said, leaving the house, unaware of the changes he had made to the world.

"GCPD!" Bullock shouted, running into the house to see dead people and Andrea Beaumont and Bruce Wayne. "What happened?" He asked.

"Daddy." Andrea cried into Bruce's chest. "They killed daddy."

Bruce held her. "There was a man, he left. Dark boots, dark pants, grey shirt, gun holsters, knives, and domino mask. He was in here when I arrived, and he left after I got here."

"Could you describe him?"

Bruce described Jason Todd Perfectly to the sketch artist, and they took it into evidence.

"All these guys are mob..."Bullock said. "...except for Mr. Beaumont. We'll have to ask his daughter if he was working with the Mob."

"Later Bullock!" Gordon said. "She just lost her father!"

"Okay Comish." Bullock said.

Jason walked the streets of Gotham, fighting Crime and getting away with it. He wasn't in any registry, he'd been trained by Batman, the League of Assassins and the Al Caste. His gear was also nearly forty years too advanced for this time, if not almost fifty years, considering he was almost thirty.

He struck fear into the hearts of criminals like the Batman had never done before. He raised Dick Greyson and Tim Drake as his Robin's, joined the Justice League as Red hood, when Ra's and the Court of Owls tried to take over Gotham they were sadly underwhelming and no issue for him.

One day, Talia brought him a bundle and revealed Damian Todd, his son. God Damnit, he'd fallen into her trap just like Bruce had, and now he had to raise his biological son as well as be Red Hood.

Meanwhile. Bruce and Andrea married, had children, Bruce donated money to Arkham and the police, and Gotham to make it a better place. Bruce never became Batman, not with Red Hood prowling the streets.

Gotham was a completely different place nearly fifty years later. The sun was actually shining, people were safe, crime was at an all-time low, and Jason barely needed to put on the suit anymore, only when the world needed saving, and despite being in his eighties, he barely looked forty. His dip in the Lazarus pit had made him nigh immortal, and his continual trips every ten years made it even less noticeable.

Bruce and Andrea lived a happy and healthy life, raising five beautiful children, and never becoming the Batman or the Phantasm.

Supervillains never rose up because Red Hood and his Robins never let them.

Harvey Dent was given the help he needed after becoming Two-Face and went on to be a powerful attorney and judge.

Jason sat on his front step and watched a flourishing Gotham. "Sorry Bruce, guess my way worked in the end."

There was a call on his radio and the Justice League needed his help, so he geared up and headed off to help protect the world he'd help create again.

Notes:

I know it's all over the place, but this is more of a one shot and if I were to write an actual story for this, I would try and write this with a much more consistent storyline.
