Despite him having started his coven already, it was a tad more nervous to knowingly be meeting the parent of the young witch beside him to tell her that he had made the offer. With Tonks he had just stumbled his way into it, but with Luna he couldn't plead ignorance again. So as he stepped off the train to the platform with his fingers interlocked with Luna Lovegood's, he knew that he was going to have a bit of explaining to do.
"Harry," Mrs. Tonks said as she approached the young wizard. She had sent him a letter to inform him that she would be coming to collect him from the platform after it arrived so as to bring him back home with her. Nymphadora had wanted to be there but she had plenty of work to be doing at the Ministry lately. Although his response hadn't mentioned another young witch would be accompanying him.
"Oh um," Harry gulped as he looked to their held hands. "This is Luna Lovegood, she's been one of my best friends this past year and I asked her to be in my coven."
Andromeda gave him a questioning look. It wasn't exactly the most formal method she had seen but given that his last one had been quite possibly the most horrendous in history, it would seem to her that Harry was at least learning. "I see," Andromeda hummed. "And are her parents around for you to explain this too."
"Well the plan is that I-" Harry came to a stop because he had not planned this far ahead. He wasn't sure if he should just go up and say that Luna was in his coven, or if he was supposed to have asked her mother first for permission. He didn't want to seem rude for just telling her what was going to happen to her daughter, especially one who was younger than him.
"Mama Xeno isn't here yet," Luna said sadly. It wasn't often that her mother was on time for many things at all. She always did remember, eventually. But it wasn't easy not knowing just when that eventually was going to be. "Mama Xeno might be really busy."
"Xeno…philia," Andromeda guessed at who the young witch's mother was. In the magical world, odd names were not uncommon. In fact to some it seemed like families had all made an unspoken challenge to come up with a more ludicrous name than anyone else. But to be named after that sort of thing was quite a bit uncomfortable to think about. Knowing some families the names might have been seen as good luck charms at hopefully garnering a wizard's attention and she just didn't want to consider if that was the case.
Turning towards Luna who would know better what to do, Harry squeezed her hand. "What do you normally do when your mother is running late?"
"Well I'm not usually outside of my home, but when I am I just wait at the last place mummy saw me," Luna said as she sat down on her trunk. "Except for this one time a muggle policeman found me outside, and he took me away to wait for mummy to show up and he was really mad because the sun had gone down by then so he yelled at her for a long time."
Harry frowned at this because that didn't sound good at all and that Luna might have been left unsupervised for long periods of time and while he would have loved it had the Dursleys done so more often, he did not think that Luna was hoping for solitude as evident by how much she enjoyed his company over the last few months. "Luna, is there a way to contact your mum?" Harry asked.
"If I knew how to cast a patronus then maybe, she might be at work though or at home," Luna twiddled her thumbs. "I guess we could take the floo and wait for her there but I know you probably want to go with Mrs. Tonks."
"I can go with you, I know that Tonks is probably waiting for me but…" Harry exhaled. "I think she'll understand won't she?"
Andromeda smiled at how thoughtful the young wizard was being. "Of course, Nymphadora can wait for you, she's been waiting all this time, a few more hours won't drive her crazy."
Harry tilted his head in confusion because he wondered just what Tonks had been waiting for specifically. But he'd find out in a few hours anyway so it wasn't something he was going to focus on. Walking over to the bay of fireplaces installed in the walls for families to use for flooing, Harry listened to what Luna said and then followed after her. He hoped to make a good first impression.
His exit was a tad dramatic, with his foot catching on a run sending him toppling over a coffee table. "Well that one kind of hurt," Harry grunted as he picked himself up and took in the room around him. He'd never actually seen the inside of a magical home before. The Tonks' home was still in a muggle neighborhood, it had all the things one would expect, a television in the sitting room, electrical lighting, and a paved road outside the window. Moving over to look out of the glass, Harry saw that he was now in what looked like a storybook woodland area.
The long swaying grass in the breeze, a clothesline outside in the sun. Little rows of trees that looked like they were bearing plump fruits. He bet that if he went outside and took a deep breath it would be the cleanest air he'd ever smelled. It seemed so quaint, so cozy and he had quite honestly forgotten that there existed other places to live in this country that weren't a sprawling suburb or a crowded city.
"Um," a throat cleared behind him, letting him know that Luna was still there. "It looks like Mama Xeno won't be back until she closes up The Quibbler," Luna said as she pursed her lips and told Harry what the note she had found in the kitchen said.
"That's okay, I don't mind waiting," Harry responded as he stepped away from the window. "You have a nice house."
"Yeah," Luna said before taking a breath. "After it was rebuilt, it just didn't feel the same though. Like it was always empty."
Harry walked over and slowly wrapped his arms around Luna who pressed herself into his body. "Just know that from now on, you have us," Harry said as he tried to be as reassuring to her as he could. Because it wasn't just him that was going to be a part of her life, so was Tonks and that meant Tonks' family would be there too.
"Us," Luna repeated, letting the word stick around while she got a feel for it. She shuddered and nodded her head eagerly after a moment. "I like the sound of us."
They stayed like that for a while before Luna stepped back. "Would you like me to show you around the house?" offering to give him the tour.
"Of course, it's my first time in a magical home," Harry accepted and Luna pulled him from the sitting room.
"Here's the kitchen, it's kind of bare, mostly because I was at Hogwarts and Mama didn't have to cook for more than herself," Luna said as the room only contained a fairly simple stove and cupboards which didn't contain all that much in terms of food.
"How does your stove work, is it gas or elec- I mean… magical gas?" Harry stopped himself from asking the ridiculous question of if the house was wired to the power grid.
"It's wood," Luna giggled because she knew what Harry was going to say. "We don't have that eclecticity all the other students talk about."
"Yeah," Harry chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. "A bit silly for me to forget. How would they even wire up the home all the way out here, where exactly are we?"
"Ottery St. Catchpole," Luna answered before pointing to the window. "The Weasley's live over that way, it's about a twenty-minute walk."
Then she turned and pointed to another wall. "And the Diggory family lives over there."
"You mean Cedric Diggory?" Harry guessed.
"Mhmm," Luna nodded. "Sometimes I'd see him play against the Weasley girls at Quidditch over the summer."
"Did you want to play?" Harry asked about her interest in the sport.
"I dunno, I was too small, I don't have my own broom and then…," Luna trailed off because it was after her home burned down that she wasn't spending all that much time with the Weasleys anymore.
"Well if you ever did want to play, or even just fly you can always borrow mine," Harry offered. He loved flying and hoped to share that with Luna and Tonks, who had told him she used to play beater for the Hufflepuff team for a few years before he got to Hogwarts when she started to focus more on her N.E.W.T.s and him. "I'm sure you'll do great, and you could even make it on the Ravenclaw team this year if you try out."
"Oh I'm not sure," Luna tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and blushed. "I'd hate to play against you. You're really good."
"Well thank you," Harry smiled at the compliment. "If your Mama arrives later I can always make us something to eat in the meantime."
"You can?" Luna questioned because usually she would just make something simple like sandwiches because her Mama didn't want her using the stove.
"Uhuh," nodding his head. "I used to do most of the cooking at the Dursleys, so I'm quite good at it."
"Oh but, I should be the one to," Luna quickly interjected as she remembered that her Mama's did the cooking at home for her and Papa.
"It's okay, you don't need to cook, that's well… I guess I'm not expecting either you or Tonks to just be in the kitchen making meals for me. We're still in Hogwarts, the castle elves make our meals," Harry rubbed the back of his head as he figured that at some point he'd have to address how this coven was going to work, who would work, who would stay home. Who would raise the kids, how many kids would they all have, where would they live. "You know that's a discussion for another time. How about we continue the tour?"
Luna agreed to that and led Harry towards the stairs leading up. "And this is Mama's room," Luna pointed to the closed door. "And this is the bathroom and this is my room."
Opening the door to her bedroom she was a bit nervous because she'd never had a boy up there before, except for maybe when she was even littler than now when she'd play with Gindrey but it had a different feeling to it this time when she was showing it off to her warlock. Now she was regretting the way her room was laid out, all the pillows she had on her bed, her books on cryptozoology that she managed to get from a muggle bookstore.
"Wow," Harry said as he noticed all the differences between Luna's room and Tonks' room. It wasn't just that Tonks was seven years older than Luna but also that Tonks didn't have so many obvious magical things laying around. Tonks had kept a teddy bear with round glasses under her bed that Harry found one day looking for his shoe which he swore got up and ran away on its own. But Luna had hers on her bed and they were making sounds while Tonks' was just an ordinary teddy bear.
The young witch had been concerned that her bedroom would look too girly, too childish for Harry but he didn't seem to mind or even snicker at the poster on her wall of a magical unicorn that neighed and whinneyed. "Um so this is my room," Luna tried to put on a brave face as Harry moved around the room.
"It's really cute," Harry commented because it seemed like a girls room, if the girl had a fascination with magical animals. Then again he figured that many girls liked unicorns with the trapper keepers some other students had before he went to Hogwarts. Thinking back to his muggle years made him wonder just what did his aunt and uncle tell anyone who asked where he was all this time. Then he decided he didn't rightly care what the Dursleys were up to since it seemed that Mrs. Tonks was set on letting him stay with her over the summer breaks.
"Is that?" Harry stopped as he noticed a bookshelf and on that a word stuck out to him, or rather two words, his own name. Crossing over he pointed at the collection Luna seemed to have of the Harry Potter stories.
This made Luna rush past him to grab the books off the shelf and stand there looking for a place to dispose of them. She stammered from embarrassment as she had forgotten she owned them until this very moment.
"It's okay," Harry said as he reached for a book. "I found out from Mrs. Weasley that they even made these and I've never actually seen one before. Do you mind?"
Luna solemnly nodded as Harry grabbed the top book, Harry Potter and the Missing Mermaid. Flipping open the cover Harry started to read through the first chapter. It depicted him, in a weirdly accurately descriptive way, sitting in his manor while a house elf brought him the morning paper. "Where do I live in this?" Harry questioned just where this supposed mansion was located.
"Oh that's um," Luna paused before setting down the other books and grabbing one. "This is the first one in the series actually."
Harry looked at this novel with the title, The-Boy-Who-Lived. "They were still figuring out how to market them," Luna scratched her cheek.
"But I would have been… three-four years old when this was published?" Harry questioned as he looked at the book which just had a very young boy standing with his back to the reader as a dark cloud loomed over him.
Luna let out a whine because she adored those books growing up but now that THE Harry Potter was in her bedroom she worried that he'd think it lame.
"Well," Harry sighed as he handed it back to Luna. "If you liked them then that's fine with me. It's just a little odd to know that I was so famous as to have people writing books about me going on magical adventures when I was just kept in the cup-. When I was at the Dursleys the whole time."
Thinking on it for a bit Harry came to the conclusion that those books were something really unique to him. He doubted there was any other child in the world who had books written about them, fictional books but still, if he could shove these in the faces of the kids who picked on him back in primary. Chuckling a bit he handed back the book to Luna. "Maybe we could read one together sometime."
Luna flushed and nodded. "I'd like that Harry."
The sound of the fireplace roared and Luna sighed in relief as she took Harry's hand and brought him back downstairs.
Seeing a witch standing in the living room, brushing soot off of her robes Harry immediately knew this to be Luna's mother, Xenophilia. "Mama," Luna happily said as she rushed over to give the woman a hug.
"Hello pumpkin," the blonde woman smiled and wrapped her arms around her daughter. "I'm sorry that I wasn't able to come and get you from the platform but I needed to finish up tomorrow's edition."
Luna stepped back and nodded. "I know mama. I wasn't alone though, I um… I had Harry with me," she said nervously as she motioned to the wizard behind her.
Blinking for a few moments the witch looked over to see who this Harry could be. "Oh," Xenophilia said as this Harry was not short for Harriet, but was short for Harry Potter, the famous wizard, who was now standing in their home.
Harry figured it was just as awkward for the mother to meet him as it was to meet her, since she was still looking a bit ruffled from having worked all day. "Yes ma'am, I'm Harry Potter, Luna's… well I um." He paused to take a breath to work up the needed words to say what he knew he had to.
"I've asked your daughter to be in my coven and she has graciously decided to accept… that is if you are okay with it and not mad or anything," Harry tapered off his declaration once he realized how informal it must have sounded. He began to regret not asking Mrs. Tonks on what he should have said rather than winging it again.
The woman stared for a moment before gulping. "I see. I see," Xenophilia repeated as she set down her bag. "And pumpkin, is this what you want?"
Slowly Luna nodded. "I do, Harry's my best friend and I really do like him."
Xenophilia looked at her not even teenaged daughter before turning to see the not yet teenage boy. "But I…"
Realizing how immature this entire situation might seem to a grown woman. That two children in her eyes are claiming to want to spend the rest of their lives together, Harry quickly stepped forward. "Luna wouldn't be the only witch in my coven. I've already gotten, I mean, another witch has already agreed to be in my coven. Her name is Tonks, I mean Nymphadora Tonks. She's graduated but that isn't, what I meant to say was that-"
"Harry," Luna cut in before the poor boy got his brain all in knots over this. "Please let me handle this. Mama, I know that things haven't been easy ever since Mama Pan and Papa Par passed, but I've been feeling alone for a while. And this last year Harry has been with me and he makes me feel like I'm not by myself even when in the castle, so I really want to be in a coven with him."
Xenophilia stood there for a few moments before kneeling down to her daughter and pulled her into a tight embrace. "I'm so sorry that I didn't notice you felt like this. I was just so sucked into my work to try to move past what happened and I didn't even realize I was leaving you behind."
"I know," Luna sniffled and nodded against her mother's robes. "You had to work hard to get money to rebuild the house and everything that you couldn't just not work on the paper just to stay home with me."
"But I should have, if I had seen it I could have skipped some issues," Xenophilia said as work had taken up a lot of her life just to get away from everything else and to not think about what had happened, and she didn't see that included her daughter as well.
"It's okay though, I got Harry now so even if you can't be here, I won't be alone anymore," Luna looked towards the wizard.
The mother lifted her head. "Do you really mean that? You'll look after my daughter?"
"Of course," Harry replied. "And, while I'm not trying to take her away from you, I just want to have her in my life too."
"Then that's really the best that I can hope for," Xenophilia smiled because all she ever wanted for her daughter was that she found someone who loved her but she didn't want to lose her.
After a few more tender moments, the mother separated. "I will say though, I wasn't aware wizards were starting their covens so early these days."
Harry chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. "Well I sort of didn't know what I was doing when I started mine with Tonks. But, I think it's worked out so far."
"And this Tonks, is she someone I will have a chance to meet?" Xenophilia wondered because she would like to know who else was going to be in the coven with her daughter.
Harry remembered that he was expected to go back to the Tonks household and they had spent a good few hours at Luna's. "I'm spending the summer with them again. And I don't think they would mind if they got to know you both a bit more."
"I'd like that," Luna agreed not just so that she had a chance to be properly introduced to this infamous Tonks but that her mother would also have a chance to meet more people, because Luna knew that she wasn't the only person in her family who was feeling alone.
As Harry stepped out of the floo into the Tonks living room Harry was greeted by a pair of arms wrapping around him. "Harry, it's so good to see that you're okay," Tonks said, pulling the wizard close to her. Despite having seen him at the end of his year when he woke up in the hospital wing that wasn't nearly enough for her as she hadn't had time with him since she went into the auror program. And even if she was told that he would make a full recovery, not being there with him still had her anxious.
"Yeah, that was a pretty crazy end of the year, much more dangerous than last year," Harry exhaled heavily as he hoped that he now got all the crazy out of his time in school and he'd be able to just focus on learning and becoming the wizard that was needed for the witches in his life.
"So mom told me that you went off with this Luna girl?" Tonks questioned because when her mother returned home with only Harry's trunk she demanded answers. Being told that Harry was potentially negotiating with the blonde girl's parents for her was something.
Harry nervously rubbed his arm because this was another detail he hadn't actually bothered to consider, talking to Tonks first before he made the decision. "Um yeah, I asked her to be in the coven. She was, is a good friend and had been pretty much the only person in the castle who believed I wasn't attacking the other witches and was willing to help me solve the case."
"She's a pretty clever girl," Tonks admitted. "Just maybe give me a little heads up next time, I would like a chance to meet with them a bit before you make a decision, okay?"
"Okay, yes, you're right," Harry agreed because the next witch he talked to about this was going to be done by the book. As soon as he figured out which book it was. "But I'm sorry that I made you wait for me, it looks like you were setting up for a party."
"We were, we got a lot to celebrate," Tonks smirked as she pointed to the banner that just said congratulations. They had first gone with, congrats on being an auror, then congrats on saving the school, then not dying, then adding another witch to the coven. Until they just decided to cut it short since there was so much to celebrate in the first place.
That night Harry was laying in the guest bedroom when the door creaked open. Sitting up and turning on the bedside light Harry saw, even without his glasses, Tonks slipped into his room. "Hey," he said as the girl came over to his side.
"Hey," Tonks responded while crawling onto the bed.
For a while neither said anything until Tonks smirked. "You know, I never got a chance to thank you for what you did for me."
"What do you mean?" Harry questioned what she was referring to.
"During training, I was about to quit and then Hedwig brought me that scarf and it was just what I needed to keep going. I became an auror because of you," Tonks reached past Harry as she loomed over him.
"Well I'm alive because you became an auror," Harry responded as his hands moved to rest on her hips.
"We can give some of that credit to Hedwig who came and got me," Tonks chuckled before biting her lip.
"She's a smart bird," Harry agreed, his fingers slowly gracing her warm skin as they rose up her torso. "I missed you."
"I did too, now that I'm not isolated, I'll have time to see you and you'll have Hogsmeade weekends so we can meet up then," Tonks planned as she pulled Harry's shirt over his hands and tossed it to the side where it landed on the floor.
Harry gulped as Tonks slowly leaned forward to capture his lips. The two making out for a few minutes as the witch undulated her hips against his own. "Tonks, are we…" Harry started to question before letting out a moan.
"If you want," Tonks breathily responded.
Harry's hand slipped under Tonks t-shirt and he found that she wasn't wearing a bra so his hand cupped her breast giving it a slight squeeze as his fingers sunk into the flesh. His other hand went down and he grabbed at her ass bringing her closer to him. "Tonks."
"Harry," Tonks moaned against his mouth before the lights came on and the two let out screams of surprise.
"Ahem," Andromeda cleared her throat while the two children scrambled on the bed.
"What are you doing here?!" Tonks shrieked while moving away from Harry with a blush on her face.
"Just making sure that you two don't do anything foolish," Andromeda raised an eyebrow in response to the accusing glare sent her way.
"Like what?" her daughter shot back in annoyance that she was interrupted just before they could get to the good part.
"Like being irresponsible," Andromeda rolled her eyes as she focused on Harry. "Young man have you ever had The Talk?"
"The what?" Harry questioned what talk he needed to have with Mrs. Tonks before he and Tonks could continue what they were doing.
"So you aren't aware of the risks involved," Andromeda looked to her daughter with a smile as the younger witch let out a groan.
"What risks, is Tonks in danger?" Harry questioned as he got up to move to her side.
"Only in so far that she might not think things through," the mother chuckled before shooing her daughter away. "Let me talk with him tonight and if he's not running away screaming, I'll not interfere with what you two get up to, tomorrow night, if you still want."
"After all I believe I have ruined the mood," Andromeda finished as she closed the door on her daughter. "Now, Harry. There are a few things that I suspect were not taught to you by your muggle relatives and the professors in the castle would be hesitant to broach the subject with you as well. But I will not try to scare you or gross you out, as I suspect others might attempt."
"Okay," Harry nervously nodded his head as the mother sat next to him.
The next morning Harry and Tonks were sitting quietly at the breakfast table while Andromeda cooked. Harry had kept his head down and anytime Tonks say him look up he was flustered. "Jeez mum, you didn't really have to make him afraid of sex did you?" Tonks complained that her mum might have gotten Harry to swear off sex for years.
"No um, just…" Harry paused. "Your mother is right, we weren't being careful, what if we you know… did it and then I got you pregnant."
"I mean, it's not likely, but," Tonks responded before sighing. "Yeah we probably should have been smart about this. It'd basically end my career as an auror before it even began if I had to go into Madam Bones' office and say, 'Sorry, got meself knocked up because I got frisky with me warlock'. Can't exactly expect them to want to keep me on the payroll when I'm carrying around a little Potter."
"Yeah and I'm still too young to be a dad," Harry admitted because he didn't know the first thing about taking care of a baby or even how to make Tonks his wife if he did. He was twelve going on thirteen in a couple of weeks. It would be incredibly foolish to be so reckless.
"I guess we just have to be careful and not get lost in the moment," Tonks agreed.
"But um…" Harry quietly spoke up as he looked away. "I kind of still wanted to do things… you know, um stuff."
Tonks' nodded her head. "Yeah, I want to do stuff too."
"So do we need to get protection like your mum said?" Harry inquired because Mrs. Tonks had walked him through some of the basic knowledge on sex, things like condoms and other parts of his body that she said were going to be going through changes in the coming years as he matured into a young adult.
Tonks was going to agree but then her mind tried to picture her and Harry walking into a pharmacy and asking the clerk for a box of rubbers. Even with magic, she doubted she'd be able to make it out of the store without the bobbies being called on her for how inappropriate that would end up looking. "Maybe we should try some other things," Tonks suggested, as penetrative sex was probably off the table for a few more years.
"That's fine with me," Harry said before pausing. "Actually I did want to talk to you about stuff like that because um…"
"It's okay, is there something you want me to do?" Tonks wondered if Harry had been thinking about something in particular.
"Well no, I mean yeah, loads. But it's Luna, I know that she's a bit younger than me and I was worried that if you and I started doing stuff that she'd feel pressured to do it too just to keep up and I know that's not fair and I don't want to hurt her by making her do things before she's ready and I've already screwed up so much that I just… I want to get something right."
"Oh Harry," Tonks responded as she pushed away her breakfast. "That's wonderful and you aren't screwing up, you have done an amazing job even if you've been winging in the whole time. Maybe it's just luck or you're just such an amazing wizard, scratch that, you are an amazing wizard which is why you are doing a good job even without knowing it. And yes, Luna might feel pressured if she finds out that we're having sex and stuff, but we should talk to her, make sure she knows that if she's not ready yet, that that is okay."
"How do we do that though?" Harry asked because he really wanted to ease his conscience on this topic.
Taking a moment think about how to solve this as she hadn't given it any thought before, before meeting Harry she figured if she found a wizard or went muggle they'd be her age or older and they would already know what to do with everything, then Harry came into her life and she didn't think anything of it other than spending her life with him. If she had to guess she'd have figured that Harry would snag another witch who was older than him, if that had been his type. She'd deal with some other witch who might try to shift the balance of power to wind up on top, but when it was the little witch that had helped save Harry's life it seemed unlikely that Luna would make a play to usurp her position. Now she was at a point where she'd have to actually help guide the other witches in the coven because she was the priestess, she was older, she should know what to do.
"We'll talk to her then," Tonks said as she came to a decision. "We will hold off on doing anything until we talk to her so we don't do something like, "Oh by the way we're already sharing a bed just don't think about that while you try to decide what is good for you.' Figure that might be a bit mean to have that looming over her."
"Yeah," Harry agreed that making it known that he and Tonks were going to go off and do things while she slowly worked up to that point wouldn't be fair to Luna.
"Plus I do want to get to know her, you had a few months, I met her once," Tonks said.
"Then we can go do stuff together," Harry smiled at the thought of having them both with him.
"Sure but I also want to have some time with her, without you. You know to see if we can get along without you there. Probably wouldn't be good if we don't get along if you have to go to the loo or something," Tonks snickered because she was fairly easy going and didn't expect problems but she'd seen some other witches have issues of being friends or even civil once the warlock wasn't around.
Harry took a moment to ponder on that before understanding what Tonks wanted. "That makes sense to me."
"Good, that means before I get slotted into my schedule for the next few months we can just have a good time," Tonks nudged Harry so they could leave this serious discussion behind and focus on the summer. One that was definitely, most assuredly going to have no life threatening situations.
Author's Notes: I hope people find the interactions between Harry and Luna to be cute. I want each of the coven members to have a different feel when they are with Harry, to not just be and Harry groped their big boobies then they did it and it was super awesome. Where it's like a distraction from the plot. Like if Harry and Tonks would get caught in the rain they'd run for cover, Tonks trying to splash him with water before they find shelter and it turns out to be a pub where they have a few drinks before falling into bed with each other. Where they bring out the most fun versions of each other. But if Harry and Luna were caught in the rain she'd want to dance in a puddle and bring him along with her, until they were both soaking wet just to sit on the porch watching the rain while drinking cocoa. And then for the future witches how they would react to situations and what they want out of Harry and even how the all interact with each other. Like in my story All It Takes Is One Girl, I didn't give much time where Narcissa, Fleur or Amelia interacted, the story was much more focused on Harry and sex and other things. But with this I want to have segments or even entire chapters where Harry's off doing something and Luna or Tonks could be the star and we see more of each coven member.
And yeah, there's been a few changes to the continuity, such as Dobby not being freed, still a Malfoy elf. But part of that is this Harry's relationship with the Malfoy family isn't nearly as antagonistic as it was in canon between him and Draco, additionally it was because Harry in canon knew that Lucius had snuck the diary to Ginny that he was able to come up with his plan and part of that was a response to seeing Lucius treat Dobby poorly while it was just himself, Albus and Lucius in the office. With the situation changed Lucinda Malfoy wouldn't mistreat Dobby so openly in front of other 'high standing' members of society, it would be uncouth to do so. That might have implications later on down the line.
As for the Hermione situation I'll be a bit more transparent on that in the next chapter during Harry's birthday party. I had an idea of how and why things were playing out the way they did and that will be the chapter to just put the cards on the table regarding her parents. I think it will be fairly understandable why things were going the way they were and how that might affect things further down the line as well.
With the comments asking about updates on my other stories, I do want to go back to them, I just have been not the best at focusing and get sidetracked by other works. I have some interesting stories in my backlog that I go to from time to time and maybe I'll post some of those one day at the very least I'll try to review what stories I currently have and what ones might only need one or two more chapters so I can wrap things up in a way that people are at least okay with just to close those out so people aren't left wondering if it's just abandoned.
