Chapter 2
When Cedric walked into her office, he didn't expect it to be so simple and comfortable as he saw the simple, comfortably, cusioned chairs and the comforting lights of the glowing green and blue magic crystals, made him feel less on edge as he sat himself down in front of the desk. Watching as digs around her desk drawers and pulls out a simple brown leather book with Sofia's name written in ink on the front.
"I have her details here for you to read and see if you are up for the responsibilities of caring for a child even though you have guardianship, I want to be sure that Sofia is safe and cared for and loved."
Cedric nods in agreement as he opens the book and saw what was inside.
The first page was basic information, such as name, age, hair, skin and eye color and height, weight.
The second page had all the health information that was needed to know if a child were ill or had issues with food or allergies to things and if they any potions or posion in their systems.
Cedric was shocked when he saw that she had a "Glamour Potion" in her system, he looks at the woman in shock as he asked.
"Why does she have a Glamour potion in her system? Those types of potions can cause serious harm to the body as it tries to morph into what it the person is trying to be keep become and if not given time between doses, it can cause the body to become malformed into a mix of two different looks with the host's mental state often becoming insane as it can't distinguish between the two different personalities and bodies."
Raven sighs tiredly before she answers know that Cedric was going to be in for shock.
"When I take in a child, I always do a detailed record of their health both past and present and when I saw that Sofia had been taking this potion since she was born, I quickly started to flush it out of her system and when that was done she started to change, so I dug alittle deeper and found that when her mother was alive she was not only dating one, but two different men and she ended up marrying one of them after she found out she was pregnant and when she gave birth, the child, a girl did not look like her husband and with a quick thinking she talks the midwife in giving the child the potion and the man none the wiser to her lies and when he was lost at sea a few years later, she was free to keep her lies hidden without fear and when she died the child did not even know who her father was and that the only thing she knew was that he died and nothing else and when I got her birth records her father wasn't listed so right now the affects of the potion will wear off over time and soon we will seen who her father might of have been."
Cedric when pale as a ghost he started to think about Miranda and when they broke up and how she had a look of deep saddeness and fear on her face as he had said that he couldn't be the man that she wanted and walked away ignoring her pleads and shouting of his name as he closed the doors to the castle.
"Are you alright, you look like you've seen a ghost." Raven asked concerned as she walked around her desk to kneel in front of the Sorcerer putting her hand on top his gloved hand in hopes of comforting him.
"Y-yes I am quite alright, just shocked alittle at the story." Cedric said as he tried to wrap his mind around what he piece together.
Before Raven could respond a knock was heard at her door, getting up she goes over and opens the door to reveal Sofia holding one of older girl's hand.
"Thank you Maddy, you can go back doing what you were doing." looks around to see if the other children were doing the chores they were given
"You're welcome, Miss." Maddy smiles before taking off, leaving behind a nervous Sofia with
Cedric stares at the girl and took notices that she was quite small for her age and that she seem to favor the color purple, seeing as she was wearing a simple pull over dress with black shoes, her hair is a redish brown color with a waviness all around it, framing her angelic face and thankfully she had a her mother's nose and did not inheirit his large nose.
The girl looks at him with fear and awe as she took in his appearance and tried to smile in a hopefully reassuring matter.
"Come in and sit Sofia, I'd like to introdunce you to someone, a friend of your mother's."
