Chapter 3

Sofia was terrifed as she enter the small office and saw a tall man with grayish black hair, wearing long dark purple robes with brown fingerless gloves covering his hands and when she stared at him, she could feel the power coming off of him in waves that she looked at him in amazement.

"Sofia, this is Cedric, a good friend of your mother's."

puts her arm around the shy girl's shoulders, bringing her to stand before the very tall man as said man tried to smile reassuringly at her and gently took her tiny hand into much larger one and gave it a gentle shake.

"Charmed, my dear it's nice to finally meet you given the circumstances and I hope that we can be good friends."

Sofia smiles alittle as she could sense that he was sincere in his words.

"Hello" Sofia said shyly as she sat down beside Cedric knowing that he meant no harm and that he could trusted.

Cedric hearts melts abit when he heard the soft voice finally speak and he was instantly reminded of Miranda soft spoken voice when she was shy and how out spoken she could be when she felt comfortable enough to so, it shattered his heart to this day that way they ended things 5 years ago and now he has a change to know his daughter

"Now that, introduction are out of the way, I need to ask you, Cedric what is your living situation at the castle.

Sofia perks up when she heard castle and quickly puts two and two together.

"Your a Sorcerer!" Sofia squeals with glee as Cedric whines alittle the high pitched noise, before forcing himself to smile.

"Yes I am and you are a very smart girl." Cedric boops her on the nose teasingly

'Just like your mother.' Cedric thought sadly as the news of his only beloved death was still raw, but he couldn't let Sofia know that so he kept on smiling.

Sofia giggles making Cedric relax alittle more, making his smile more genuine towards the younger girl, which made smile at their interaction as Sofia puts herself on his lap, making the man instinctively put his arms around her to keep her on his lap more comfortably as she snuggles into his chest before quietly play with his yellow bowtie.

Clearing her throat to gain their attention, the two turned to look back at her.

"Please answer my questions, Cedric."

Cedric straighten up as he answers her question as the small child was still playing with his tie quietly watching him to see his reactions.

"I live in a tower which is also where I work on Potions and Spells for the Royal Family."

"Are there any dangerous or harmful things within your workplace? I don't want to put Sofia in a place were she might get harm or worse."

"Nor do I, which if you will let me, I will make sure that any harmful potions, ingredients, spell books and enchanted items are moved out of her reach and sight until she reaches an older age."

Raven nods in approval at his answer, knowing that he is telling the truth.

"Do you have a room for Sofia to live in or do you need expand upon it?"

Cedric thinks a moment and answers with a serious look on his face.

"I have another room that I would normally use for storage, but I will make sure that it is the perfect place for Sofia to call her room, I promise you that and if you are worried about food or schooling I will make sure that she receives the best that I can give to her."

"How would you treat misbehavior?" asked nervous as what the answers might be but had her fear put to rest by Cedric's answer.

"I don't believe in beating or hitting child will teach them anything except to fear you or hate you, when I punish her, it might be grounding or lines or being banned from doing something if was dangerous for awhile, until I can trust that you won't do it again and I don't allow swearing or cursing, if I catch a child in my care swearing like a common sailor then a dose of liver cod oil on your tongue will teach you not too."

Raven had no doubts about that as she could see that Sofia was going to be very cherished and loved girl by this man and that he would give up his life for her if meant that she would be safe.

"Well then lets go and get Sofia's things ready for travel, after you have signed on the dotted line of course."

Cedric takes the paper from the woman with one hand and looks over what it said and smiles alittle before putting down on the desk and grabbing the pen and signing his name.

"Congratulations, it's a girl." Raven smiles alittle at her joke as the man looks down to find that said girl had fallen asleep in his arms.

"My daughter, Sofia." Cedric said softly as he gently runs his hand through her long wavey hair.

"I will stop by every few months to check in on how things are going." said.

Cedric nods as he cradles the child close to him and carefully gets up and nods to who opened the door for him to leave.

"Let get you home, my little Sorcereress."
