Chapter 4

After signing the papers Sofia started calling him, Papa after he told her that he was her father, and she ready to move in with him in the Castle, but first he had to introduce his newly adopted daughter to the King, Queen and their children.

"Now Sofia, the King and Queen are very nice people and as along as you nice and honesty with them and their children and I believe they have a daughter who is around your age, but believe me they are good people, just don't take anything they might say to seriously, okay."

"Yes, Papa." Sofia said as she held his hand and walked into the large throne, which made the child gasped at the large and beautiful tapery, until they got to where King Rolan and Queen Lorelei sat along with their children, Prince James and Princess Amber.

"Greetings, Cedric how are you this fine morning and who is with you?"

Queen Lorelei asked as her gentle nature made the nervous girl that was hiding under his robes, peek out alittle in curiousity.

"I am well, your Majesty and this is my new adopted daughter, Sofia."

"Daughter?!" King Rolan exclaimed shocked which scared make the girl whimper, which caused Cedric to scoop her up from her hiding place to comfort her as the girl hide her face in his robes..

"Yes sire, my daughter, an orphan that I recently gained guardianship of because her mother, a late friend of mine, died and I was asked to be her guardian/parent until she reached maturity."

Princess Madeline came down to agree Sofia first as the girl was still hidng in Cedric's robes.

"Hi Sofia, my name is Madeline, but you can call me, Maddy."

Sofia peeks out of her hiding place and sees a girl who looks to be her age with red hair and blue eyes, wearing a match blue dress and small tiara with blue jewels.

Rolan got up from his throne and came down to where the sorcerer and his child was standing and stood in front of them along side his youngest daughter.

"I am sorry for have scaring you, Sofia, I was just surprised, but I can see that you are a sweet and kind child aren't you?"
Sofia nods as she looks at the man, she could seen that he had kind eyes and smile, which made her smile at him.

Cedric was relieved to see that Sofia was calm onces more and so he gently sets the girl down to greet the children, while he talked with the King and Queen in finer detail about how he came to be a parent of a little girl and to tell them that she might his biological daughter.

After making sure that Baileywick would watch them as they played, off they went to the King's private study.

"So Cedric can you explain to us in better detail as how this came to be." Rolan asked as he sat behind his desk as both Cedric and Lorelei took the only vacant chairs in front of his desk.

Cedric tells them about how he the letter of his best friend's death and how she had put him down as his guardian if anything happen to her. Then when he told them of his first meeting with Sofia and how the Head of the orphanage said that Sofia had a glamour potion in her system, which was flushed out of her system, which could mean that the child might be his biological daughter and that over time her appearance with change into what she was meant to be and that when she was told he was her new father she started calling him Papa and how she is going to be living with him from now on.

"So your majesties, I wanted to let you know that Sofia is going to be living with me in the tower and I won't take no for an answer, because if she can't stay I will find other accommodations and give you my resignation this moment."

Rolan stares at Cedric for a moment and then he started to laugh a deep belly laugh, making the sorcerer and his queen both look at him annoyed and concerned at the same time.

After a moment Rolan stops laughing and smiles at both of them and saids.

"It's finally time that you grew a backbone my old friend and if took a child to have you stand up for yourself then so be it. But I am excited to have another child in the castle to play with the twins and their friends and I am willing to help you with any moving of furniture or set up anything let me know I will make it happen."

Cedric was so happy that he forgot for a moment that Rolan was the King and gave the man a hug, which the other man returned, before releasing him and giving the Queen the same treatment, before running of to go find Sofia and tell her the good news, leaving behind two smiling Parents.

When he got to the throne room his smile quickly vanishes when he finds Sofia crying in Princess Madeline's arms behind as they stood behind Bailywick as the older man was scolding Princess Amber for bullying the girl about her origins and status and for bullying her younger sister Madeline for even talking to Sofia and how pulling other peoples hair was wrong and could seriously hurt them. Princess Madeline was standing front of Sofia as the girl cried into her back. While Prince James stood behind her affectly shielding her from their older sister.

"What is merlin's name is going on! Cedric shouted and he was met with silence until Madeline spoke up.

"Amber was picking on Sofia just because she came from the village and how that she didn't belong here and so I stepped in and took Sofia away from Amber, who decided that she hated being ignored and pulled my hair so hard that it hurt and I guess my screams alerted Baileywick who came over and pulls Amber's hands out of my hair and started to scold her, while both me and James decided to protect her until you came back and well...yeah."

Cedric quickly makes his way over to where Sofia was, ignoring Baileywick, Amber, James and Madeline as he scoops up the crying girl into his arms and walks out of the room without giving anyone a chance to explain anymore as he made his way to their tower and when he was inside the girl was now sniffling and rubbing her red and watery eyes.

"It alright my dear, Papa's here, let's get you clean up and ready for a rest alright?"

Sofia lets out a yawn as she snuggles into Cedric's chest making the man's heart melt at the cuteness and smiles again.

After putting Sofia down for a nap, Cedric goes into his shop, when he heard a knock on his door.

Opening the door he saw that it was Madeline.

"Princess Madeline, what do you need?"

"I just to let you know that Mommy and Daddy grounded Amber for pulling my hair and bullying Sofia."

Cedric was silently relieved that the brat was taken down a peg.

"Thank you for letting me know, having a good day, Princess Madeline."

"Goodbye, ." The girl waves to him as she leaves down the stairs.

"It's Cedric! Ced-ric!"

But the usual annoyance was not there when he said it as he smiles contently.
